Accessing resources in the package of an application created with xcode/cocoa

I am trying to make a simple that needs to create an NSImage and I want to put the .png file in the resources of my package contents. I added the .png file to my resources directory in Xcode and when I create the applicaiton the .png file shows up in my resources inside package contents but I am havhing trouble figuring out how to reference file here is what I tried: [image initWithContentsOfFile:@"resources/draw-button.png"]; I figured that my package contents would be my current directory so I thought this would work, but it does. How do I reference my resources directory?

Optimistic non-locking copy of InnoDB .frm files

MySQL Enterprise Backup(MEB) does hot backup of innodb data and log files. Till MEB 3.6.1, the user backs up the only innodb tables in a 3 step process: STEP 1. Take backup using --only-innodb option STEP 2. Temporarily make the table read only by executing “FLUSH TABLES WITH READ LOCK” MEB 3.7.0 has an enhancement to innodb file copying. The .frm files gets copied along with the hot backup done for innodb files. I would like to make the blog a little interactive by explaining the feature as answers: 1. What are these .frm files? The files containing the metadata, such as the table definition, of a MySQL table. For backups, the full set of .frm files are always required along with the backup data, to be able to restore tables that are altered or dropped after the backup. 2. Can the .frm files not be copied by MEB itself? --only-innodb-with-frm is the new option introduced in MEB 3.7.1 to do a copy of .frm files without locking the tables during backup operation itself. This is to reduce the pain of manually copying the .frm files. The option is intended for backups where you can ensure that no ALTER TABLE, CREATE TABLE, DROP TABLE, or other DDL statements modify the .frm files for InnoDB tables during the backup operation. 3. How is data consistency ensured? MEB does validation of the .frm files after copying by comparing with the server directory to see if the timestamps of any of the .frm files is greater than the saved system time (check .frm time). This change in timestamp of the .frm files will show if a table is altered during the process of backup. The total number of frm files in the server directory is also verified against the copied contents. If the number of .frm files is less compared to server directory, it shows that table/tables have been dropped during the process of backup. If the number of .frm files is more compared to server directory, it shows that new table/tables have been created during backup operation. 4. How does MEB handle data inconsistency? MEB copies the .frm files through several iterations, does the validation and throws a WARNING if there is any inconsistency found in .frm files at the end of backup operation. This means the user is warned of some DDL operations that had occurred during backup operation, and has to manually copy the .frm files or do a backup again. 5. What is the option and explain its usage? The option introduced is --only-innodb-with-frm which does optimistic copy of .frm files without locking. This can be used when the user wants to backup only innodb tables along with .frm files. The option can take one of the 2 values: all | related. --only-innodb-with-frm=all does copy of all .frm files of all innodb tables. --only-innodb-with-frm=related works in conjunction with --include option.This is to allow partial backup of .frm files corresponding to the tables specified in --include. White bar at the bottom of root view!

Hi, I have two view controllers in the app. When the app starts, the layout of the root view controller's view is just fine. When a button is clicked, the view controller switches to the other one - which shows fine too. However, when the view is switched back to the root view, the contents are shifted UP by about 20 pixels, leaving a white bar at the bottom! - and it was not there when the app had started. Has anyone seen this? Any idea what's going on there? Thanks, Sam.

Setting up a SQL Membership Provider and attaching the MDF file in Visual Studio 2008

I'm trying to set up a SQL Membership Provider for an ASP.NET MVC 1.0 and I'm having problems setting up the tables and stored procedures in the database. I've tried attaching both the applications current database and a blank database to my local SQLEXPRESS instance (using SSEUtil) and then running the aspnet_regsql wizard against them. When I detach the mdf file and try to load it in Visual Studio 2008, the data connection in the server explorer shows that the database has no tables or stored procedures. Am I missing a step or something here? I've been having a heap of trouble with compatibility between Visual Studio and SQLEXPRESS.

Custom date time picker for Windows Forms that is locked to GMT time

Using Visual Studio 2008, c#, .net 2.0. I have a Windows Forms client application that contains a scheduling UI section, currently this is housed only in the London office with the standard datetime picker control, the selected time is saved in a UK database (GMT) and a London based server aapplication processes the schedules. There is a requirement to roll the client out to various global locations, Hong Kong, New York etc and allow them to setup schedules that run according to GMT time on the London server. I'll have a label on screen saying "note schedules are GMT" what I need is a good way to present a datetime picker that always shows and is in sync with the database server's GMT time regardless of where the client app is running globally. Suggestions on how to acheive this? thanks.

Jquery - Errors only in Internet Explorer

Hey Guys I am getting several errors only on IE8 running on my vista OS. On the other browsers (Chrome, FF, Safari) everything works fine. Not sure where to begin looking. Computed properties in NHibernate

I'm having a problem in mapping an existing data class member to the database.. I have a database table where one of the columns is a string type, but actually stores a comma separated list of numbers. My data class shows this field as a list of integers. The problem is that I couldn't find any hook in NHibernate that allows me to invoke the custom code that is required to replace the string field by the list and vice versa. To illustrate (simplified of course): The database table: CREATE TABLE dummy ( id serial, numlist text -- (can store values such as '1,2,3') ) The data class: class Dummy { public int Id; public List<int> NumbersList; } Can anyone help?

My Header over External Content

I can see this web site is somewhat over my head, but I'm having trouble finding an answer. I want to put my header, with links to other pages, over external content. Here's why: My MLM gives me a replicated web site that they maintain. I want to add links to my blog, contact info, even meta tags to the site. I though I had it done by using an iframe. I have my content at the top, and the MLM site shows up in the iframe. (here is the link www.trivanijoanne.com) The problem is that the iframe doesn't resize when the external content changes, and it is confusing for the user to need to scroll up to see the page. Also, the pdf pages don't load inside the iframe. I looked around online and see that iframes are a thing of the past. What should I be using to accomplish this task?

How Easy Is It to Hijack Session Vars on GoDaddy (PHP)

This article states that If your site is run on a shared Web server, be aware that any session variables can easily be viewed by any other users on the same server. On a larger host like GoDaddy, are there really no protections in place against this? Could it really be that easy? If it is that easy, where are the session vars of the other users on my host so I can check them out? Edit: I didn't believe it, but here's my little program which shows that this is true! I wonder if those are really the same as the value stored in the cookies on the users' machine?

Google chrome extension: local storage

Hi there I'm developing an extension for Google Chrome, and have run into some trouble.I created an options.html page and added it to the manifest.json file.The page shows properly. I saved the options, and then went back to the page on which the extension is supposed to run. Unfortunately, the Local storage for the options was returning a 'null' instead of the option. If I set the local storage option directly from the extension's JS script, it works fine but not if it was set from the options page. Any idea how i can access the options.html local storage values from my Javascript file in the extension? thanks!

Is there a way to use a LINQ expression to request a Count query from the Netflix oData service? The Netflix documentation shows that you can return counts by appending $count to a request for a collection, but a URL like this: http://netflix.cloudapp.net/Catalog/Genres/$count Is not generated from an expression like this: var count = (from g in catalog.Genres select g).Count(); The above code returns an error saying that the Count method is not supported. Is there a way to do this in LINQ, or do I just need to make WebClient request to get the value?

Unable to run OpenMPI across more than two machines

When attempting to run the first example in the boost::mpi tutorial, I was unable to run across more than two machines. Specifically, this seemed to run fine: mpirun -hostfile hostnames -np 4 boost1 with each hostname in hostnames as <node_name> slots=2 max_slots=2. But, when I increase the number of processes to 5, it just hangs. I have decreased the number of slots/max_slots to 1 with the same result when I exceed 2 machines. On the nodes, this shows up in the job list: <user> Ss orted --daemonize -mca ess env -mca orte_ess_jobid 388497408 \ -mca orte_ess_vpid 2 -mca orte_ess_num_procs 3 -hnp-uri \ 388497408.0;tcp://<node_ip>:48823 Additionally, when I kill it, I get this message: node2- daemon did not report back when launched node3- daemon did not report back when launched The cluster is set up with the mpi and boost libs accessible on an NFS mounted drive. Am I running into a deadlock with NFS? Or, is something else going on?

Why is a report, in SSRS, when viewed in preview mode looks different when viewed in print layout mo

I have a report that was originally built in report builder and then imported into Visual Studio to add some other formating to it. The report has a header and a body section. In the body section there is a column that shows commission and the commission is subtotaled for each sales person. There is a page break for each sales person as well. When I preview the report, the subtotal appears as it should for each sales person, but when I either look at it in print layout mode or send it to the printer, the subtotal appears in the body section of the next page, which is the next sales person. Why is it behaving like this and how can I fix this? Thanks.

where do I submit the ipad apps?

I read Apple is allowing developers to submit iPad apps for the great opening of the ipad store, but I cannot find anything in my account that says that or allows sending the apps. Another thing is: in order for an app to be accepted you have to sign it with your own certificate but to do that you have to select the device on Xcode. As far as I know, Xcode do not signs with certificates applications that run on the simulator. Beyond that, any try to build a distribution package on Xcode shows messages like "you should disable armv6", and others. So, I ask. Is this news true? If yes, how to I manage to have the app ready for iPad and ready for submission? thanks.

Rails 3: config/initializers errors for gem configuration

I'm trying to setup this plugin (Crumble), and the docs say I need to add a configuration file for the plugin in config/initializers/ like this (breadcrumb.rb): Breadcrumb.configure do ... end I add in my directives in that block, and reloaded the page, and I'm immediately greeted with a Passenger error: uninitialized constant Breadcrumb What am I missing here? gem list shows Crumble as installed, and if I launch IRB I can require 'crumble' successfully. I remember doing this just fine in Rails 2.3.5. Here's my setup: rails 3.0.0.beta3 ruby 1.9.1p378 (via RVM) passenger 2.2.11 (with Apache2) crumble 0.1.2 I've been trying to read the Rails 3 release notes to see if they've changed anything that would affect this, but so far I haven't found anything to suggest that the above shouldn't work. I'd appreciate any guidance you could spare me!

Counting consecutive items within MS SQL

Got a problem with a query I'm trying to write. I have a table that lists people that have been sent an email. There is a bit column named Active which is set to true if they have responded. But I need to count the number of consecutive emails the person has been inactive since either their first email or last active email. For example, this basic table shows one person has been sent 9 emails. They have been active within two of the emails (3 & 5). So their inactive count would be 4 as we are counting from email number 6 onwards. PersonID(int) EmailID(int) Active(bit) 1 1 0 1 2 0 1 3 1 1 4 0 1 5 1 1 6 0 1 7 0 1 8 0 1 9 0 Any pointers or help would be great. Regards Greg

Create a Models Diagram Using Railroad

Railroad is a great UML tool for Ruby on Rails. It can automatically generate class diagrams of models and controllers. For models, a railroad-generated class diagram shows attributes of each model and the associations between one model and another. A sample diagram can be found here. It is very useful for a developer to see attributes and associations of models. While attributes and associations reveal the inner states and relationships of models, methods specify their behaviours. They are all desirable in a class diagram. I would like railroad to generate a class diagram that also lists methods for models, which will help me to know what each model does. I know methods are displayed in a diagram that is generated for controllers, but I don't see such an option for a diagram of models. Does someone know how to do that with railroad? Or is that possible? Thanks!

How to encode cyrillic in mysql?

Hello fellows, what's up? :-) I have one problem and i hope you can help me with it. One friend of mine have a simple solid html website and i implemented little php; CRUD system for articles... problem i came across is placing and getting cyrillic characters from mysql database. What i want to achive is next: In the main navigation there are some separated sections, whose names, ids and item's order i want to place in mysql and than to pull names and to put each name as a link. Names are supposed to be cyrillic characters. The problem comes when i, using php mysql_fetch_assoc function, try to display names which are inserted with cyrillic characters in database row, collation of row is utf8_general_ci, and i end with ????? insted of original characters. If i submit cyrillic characters via submit form to mysql it shows something like this Ð£. How can i solve this, thanks in advance!? :-)

Crystal report - Conversion from text to decimal ?

I have a crystal report, which takes data from an XML template. For a particular field of report, say 'Cost' the database stored procedure send data to XSD file in decimal format , but when the crystal report displays data picking from XSD, it is rounded off. When i right click on other data fields of report, I can see 'Field:table1.columnname',. But when i click on 'Cost' field, it shows 'Text:'. To my understanding, this is a text field which is mapped to pick data from XSD and since the type is text, it gives result in text hence truncating the decimal. Please suggest how can I get decimals here. P.S: This code was created by someone else, so i have no idea on what they had set at that time. I have to fix it and i have no clue about it.

So what kind of JavaScript-based scenario calls onSilverlightError? When will onSilverlightError definitely be needed? What are Silverlight error-handling conventions in general? This is a very important comment by Erik Monk but needs more detail: There are 2 kinds of terminal errors in Silverlight. 1) Managed errors (hit the managed Application_UnhandledException method). Note that some errors may not even get to this point. If the managed infrastructure can't be loaded for some reason (out of memory error maybe...), you won't get this kind of error. Still, if you can get it, you can use a web service (or the CLOG project) to communicate it back to the server. 2) Javascript errors.

Using Qtcreator (with Qwt), really basic stuff

I'm trying to make a Qt program using Qtcreator and Qwt for plotting. I've never used Qtcreator before. I've created a mainwindow and added a Qwtplot widget there (object name: qwtPlot). The widget shows up in the program when I compile and run it. But theres no mention of the qwtPlot object anywhere in the (autogenerated) code so I assume it is being added at compile time from the .ui xml file (or something). My question is that... how do I modify/change the qwtPlot object? Or where should I place the code. I'm having a hard time articulating my question but the question basically is "How do I do anything with the qwtPlot widget which is created (graphically) with Qtcreator?". I've checked some tutorials but in the tutorials they add the widgets manually in the code, but I'd like to use Qtcreator (because my UI will be fairly complicated).
