    I want to get some trick for this problem. I have my table like this Product (uuid, Name) and one datagridview to display this information ( dataGridView.DataSouce = Products which is assign on runtime) My problem is that I want to have "No" column on dataGridView which will show like below No | Name 1 | ProdctA 2 | ProductB 3 | ProductC What I do right now is create a "No" field on my product Model, and loop through all the row and assign value to it.   • The cost of passing by shared_ptr

    I use std::tr1::shared_ptr extensively throughout my application. This includes passing objects in as function arguments. Consider the following: class Dataset {...} void f( shared_ptr< Dataset const > pds ) {...} void g( shared_ptr< Dataset const > pds ) {...} ... While passing a dataset object around via shared_ptr guarantees its existence inside f and g, the functions may be called millions of times, which causes a lot of shared_ptr objects being created and destroyed. Here's a snippet of the flat gprof profile from a recent run: Each sample counts as 0.01 seconds. % cumulative self self total time seconds seconds calls s/call s/call name 9.74 295.39 35.12 2451177304 0.00 0.00 std::tr1::__shared_count::__shared_count(std::tr1::__shared_count const&) 8.03 324.34 28.95 2451252116 0.00 0.00 std::tr1::__shared_count::~__shared_count() So, ~17% of the runtime was spent on reference counting with shared_ptr objects. Is this normal? A large portion of my application is single-threaded and I was thinking about re-writing some of the functions as void f( const Dataset& ds ) {...} and replacing the calls shared_ptr< Dataset > pds( new Dataset(...) ); f( pds ); with f( *pds ); in places where I know for sure the object will not get destroyed while the flow of the program is inside f(). But before I run off to change a bunch of function signatures / calls, I wanted to know what the typical performance hit of passing by shared_ptr was. Seems like shared_ptr should not be used for functions that get called very often. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks for reading. -Artem

  • Why isn't the reference counter in boost::shared_ptr volatile?

    In the boost::shared_ptr destructor, this is done: if(--*pn == 0) { boost::checked_delete(px); delete pn; } where pn is a pointer to the reference counter, which is typedefed as shared_ptr::count_type -> detail::atomic_count -> long I would have expected the long to be volatile long, given threaded usage and the non-atomic 0-check-and-deletion in the shared_ptr destructor above. Why isn't it volatile?

I found this, but it's an Eclipse plugin (I'm a NetBeans user), and cannot automatically format code, which is the most important feature I'm after. Autocompletion is not important, nor is the possibility of running the code (like the SQL editor in NetBeans). Edit: I'm sorry for not specifying, I'm looking for Linux or even web-based software.

  • PostgreSQL: Auto-partition a table

    Hi, I have a huge database which holds pairs of numbers (A,B), each ranging from 0 to 10,000 and stored as floats. e.g., (1, 9984.4), (2143.44, 124.243), (0.55, 0), ... Since the PostgreSQL table which stores these pairs grew quite large, I have decided to partition it into inheriting sub-tables. I intend to create 100 such tables, each storing a range of 1000x1000. The problem is that these numbers tend to come in large chunks of nearby numbers. It means that in the future, some tables will be nearly empty and some will hold a very large portion of the database. Unfortunately, the distribution of future pairs is yet unknown. I am looking for a way to automatically repartition my table. That means that if a certain subtable holds more than a specific number of pairs, it will be automatically partitioned into four sub-sub tables, and so on. My questions are: Is recursive partitioning and inheritance possible in PostgreSQL 8.3? Will indexes and query plans understand it? What's the best way to split a subtable once it grew too large? I should point out that this isn't a live database, so a downtime of few hours every week is totally acceptable. Thanks in advance, Adam

    How do you make VS 2008 automatically install SQL Server CE 3.5 when debugging (F5) a CF app on a windows Mobile 5.0 device? VS used to do this automatically, but now it stopped and I don't know why. I have changed the structure of my solution and the projects, but it is still using SQL Server CE 3.5. It used to also install the Query Analyzer as well which was useful. I frequently uninstall all the programs on the device or do hard reboots so installing this manually is what I am trying to avoid.

    Hi all, I have the following code (just typed it in here, might have typos or stuff): typedef boost::ptr_vector<SomeClass> tvec; tvec v; // ... fill v ... tvec vsnap; for(tvec::iterator it = v.begin(); it != v.end(); ++it) { if((*v).anyCondition) vsnap.push_back( it ); // (*it) or &(*it) doesn't work } My problem is now that i cant push_back an iterator in any way, I just don't get the pointer out of the iterator. Is there an easy way i didnt see, or are boosts ptr_vector the false choice for this case? Thanks in advance.

  • Dynamically sized UIWebView in a UITableViewCell with auto layout - constraint violation

    I've got a UITableViewCell which contains a UIWebView. The table view cell adjusts it's height depending on the web view contents. I've got it all working fine, however when the view loads, I get a constraint violation exception in the debugger (the app continues running and functionally works fine, but I'd like to resolve this exception if possible). How I've got it set up: The TableView sets the cell height like this: -(CGFloat)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView heightForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { if(indexPath.section == 0) { [_topCell layoutIfNeeded]; CGFloat finalHeight = [_topCell.contentView systemLayoutSizeFittingSize:UILayoutFittingCompressedSize].height; return finalHeight + 1; } The cell constraints are as follows: Arbitrary 7px offset from the cell's contentView (top) to the webView Web view has arbitrary fixed height constraint of 62px (will expand later once content loads) Arbitrary 8px offset from the webView to the cell's contentView (bottom) in my viewDidLoad, I tell the webView to go and load a URL, and in the webViewDidFinishLoad, I update the web view height constraint, like this -(void)webViewDidFinishLoad:(UIWebView *)webView { CGSize fittingSize = [webView sizeThatFits:CGSizeZero]; // fittingSize is approx 500 [self.tableView beginUpdates]; // Exceptions happen on the following line setting the constant _topCell.webViewHeightConstraint.constant = fittingSize.height; [_topCell layoutSubviews]; [self.tableView endUpdates]; } The exception looks like this: Unable to simultaneously satisfy constraints. Probably at least one of the constraints in the following list is one you don't want. Try this: (1) look at each constraint and try to figure out which you don't expect; (2) find the code that added the unwanted constraint or constraints and fix it. (Note: If you're seeing NSAutoresizingMaskLayoutConstraints that you don't understand, refer to the documentation for the UIView property translatesAutoresizingMaskIntoConstraints) ( "<NSLayoutConstraint:0x10964b250 V:[webView(62)] (Names: webView:0x109664a00 )>", "<NSLayoutConstraint:0x109243d30 V:|-(7)-[webView] (Names: webView:0x109664a00, cellContent:0x1092436f0, '|':cellContent:0x1092436f0 )>", "<NSLayoutConstraint:0x109243f80 V:[webView]-(8)-| (Names: cellContent:0x1092436f0, webView:0x109664a00, '|':cellContent:0x1092436f0 )>", "<NSAutoresizingMaskLayoutConstraint:0x10967c210 h=--& v=--& V:[cellContent(78)] (Names: cellContent:0x1092436f0 )>" ) Will attempt to recover by breaking constraint <NSLayoutConstraint:0x10964b250 V:[webView(62)] (Names: webView:0x109664a00 )> This seems a bit weird. It's implied that the constraint which sets the height of the web view is going to be broken, however the web view does get it's height correctly set, and the tableview renders perfectly well. From my guesses, it looks like the newly increased web view height constraint (it's about 500px after the web view loads) is going to conflict with the <NSAutoresizingMaskLayoutConstraint:0x10967c210 h=--& v=--& V:[cellContent(78)] setting the cell height to 78 (put there by interface builder). This makes sense, however I don't want that cell content to have a fixed height of 78px, I want it to increase it's height, and functionally, it actually does this, just with these exceptions. I've tried setting _topCell.contentView.translatesAutoresizingMaskIntoConstraints = NO; to attempt to remove the NSAutoresizingMaskLayoutConstraint - this stops the exceptions, but then all the other layout is screwed up and the web view is about 10px high in the middle of the table view for no reason. I've also tried setting _topCell.contentView.autoresizingMask |= UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleHeight; in the viewDidLoad to hopefully affect the contentView 78px height constraint, but this has no effect Any help would be much appreciated

  • Facebook Connect auto-signon?

    So with all these fancy new APIs and such that Facebook is making available, I've noticed that on the partner sites (Pandora, docs.com, etc.), there is no login---Facebook automatically signs you in. You don't even need to press a button to connect if you already have a FB session established. Is this a feature of the new API? Or is this a Facebook partners-only feature? I haven't seen any information on whether this is possible for cool guys that don't run huge companies. Thanks in advance

    I have a web page which allows the user to carry out various operations that in turn modify the database. Also, this web application needs to keep track of various fields in database that keep changing with time. Is refreshing the page every few seconds the best possible way to implement this? For example, if there is a long list on the page requiring scrolling, it is hard to view the list since the page keeps resetting due to the refresh. I know, there are ways to retain the position of the scroll. But, could I use something more efficient?

    I'm using this jquery autocomplete plug-in with rails: http://docs.jquery.com/Plugins/Autocomplete I can't figure out how to format my results, both in my Rails controller and in my javascript file. I have something like this in my controller... @query = params[:q].downcase @json = User.all(:login => /^#{@query}/) respond_to do |format| format.js { render :json => @json.to_json(:only => "login"), :layout => false } end And then this in my script.js file... $("#form").autocomplete('/url', { width: 320, dataType: 'json', highlight: false, scroll: true, scrollHeight: 300 }) But I can't figure out how to parse the data, so my autocomplete just gets a raw array of all my results at once. How do I process the JSON in the script.js file and/or in my controller for it to work?
