• keeping xmphp bot always online

  I created a simple xmpp bot in PHP which connects to google talk server. I basically modified the cli_longrun example. When I run the script in browser the bot comes online and stays online for a while even after I close the tab on which the script was running (as it is just an infinite loop listening for events on the stream). But after a while the bot becomes offline. The question is how do I keep the bot always online. One way I can think of is to run a cron that would disconnect the earlier one and start a new session. But is there a better approch?

• Django, Redirecting staff from login to the admin site.

  So my site basically has 2 kinds of ways to login, one of them is for the common users, who get the regular screen that asks them for username and password, the other way its for staff. The staff login should redirect them to the admin site after logging in, but for some reason the redirect doesnt happen, it stays on the same login page. I use this condition on the login view. if user is not None and user.is_active and user.is_staff: auth.login(request,user) return HttpResponseRedirect("/admin/") The admin site its up and running in my url configuration and everything, but i dont know if this is the correct way to redirect to the admin site already on session. • Seam cache provider with ehcache null

  Hi every one, I'm trying to configure seam/ehcache following the tutorial from jboss page: http://docs.jboss.org/seam/2.1.2/reference/en-US/html/cache.html I put the ehcache.1.2.3.jar in project.ear/lib and injected CacheProvider as especified, but the CacheProvider always return null. The documentation doesn't show any aditional configuration for ehcache, just for jboss cache.   What I want is to add possibility to interact with application, and be able to extract information from application or event ask it to change some states. For that purpose I though of building cli utility. The utility will connect to the application and send user commands (one line strings) to the application and wait for response from the application. The command should contain: - command name (e.g. display-session-table/set-log-level etc.) - optionally command may have several arguments (e.g. log-level=10) The question to choose syntax and to learn parse it fast and correctly. I don't want to reinvent the whell, so maybe there's already an answer out there.

• HTML page showing blank in iOS6 Safari

  I have a HTML page which is showing blank after it loads completely. Here is the scenario, The page is build with a set of using 3 frames. There are various javascript's which push content into the site. Also, there is a timeout function, which checks if the user has not responded for 3 minutes, it logs out the session. The issue is, when I load this page whole page along with the content gets loaded, but after a fraction of seconds the page goes blank! This issue is only with iOS6 Safari on iPad. Can anyone help me out in figuring out the issue? Thanks in advance.

• Passing hash as values in hidden_field_tag

  I am trying to pass some filters in my params through a form like so: hidden_field_tag "filters", params[:filters] For some reason the params get changed in the next page. For example, if params[:filters] used to be... "filters"={"name_like_any"=["apple"]} [1] ...it gets changed to... "filters"="{\"name_like_any\"=[\"apple\"]}" [2] note the extra quotations and backslashes in [2] when compared to [1]. Any ideas? I'm attempting to use this with searchlogic for some filtering, but I need it to persist when I change change objects in forms. I would prefer not to have to store it in session.

  Hi, I'm using Apache common fileupload library with Netbeans 6.8 + Glassfish.I'm trying to change the current upload path to be in the current context path of the servlet , something like this: WEB-INF/upload so I wrote : File uploadedFile = new File("WEB-INF/upload/"+fileName); session.setAttribute("path",uploadedFile.getAbsolutePath()); item.write(uploadedFile); but I notice that the library save the uploaded files into glassfish folder , here what I get when I print the absolute path of the uploaded file : C:\Program Files\sges-v3\glassfish\domains\domain1\WEB-INF\upload\xx.rar My Question : How can I force the common fileupload to save the uploaded file in a path relative to the current servlet path , so I don't need to specify the whole path ? is this possible ?

  Has anybody some information about accessing Lotus Domino server to fetch entire mail contents by http(s) requests from php linux server? The article by Andrei Kouvchinnikov describes well how to fetch message list in notes mail folders; after obtaining session id during login one can for example select top 100 messages by calling: https://your.server.domain/mail_db/mailbox.nsf/($Inbox)?ReadViewEntries&Start=1&Count=100 And this works perfectly. The problem arises when I am trying to get message contents (0A1DA5EEB7B65277C12576F50055D811 is an example message unique Id): https://your.server.domain/mail_db/mailbox.nsf/($Inbox)/0A1DA5EEB7B65277C12576F50055D811/?OpenDocument Such request in IE shows frameset with data hard to parse, in less common browsers like Opera it informs about unsupported browser. Ideally if it is possible to fetch notes message contents and all attachments by requesting it in the url, has anybody some information what request would it be?   Hi! I'm trying to implement a stateless session bean in ejb3 using glassfish server v2 and netbeans as the editor. I'm using jndi lookup for calling bean class. When I tried to deploy the war file where I'm calling the bean class through servlet, it is showing the following error: This web app [C:\Documents and Settings\Test-war\build\web] has no ejb reference by the name of [TestingBean] deployed with moduleid = Test-war I manually created glassfish deployment descriptor for ejb and edited sun-web xml file in war. • firefox: getting access to the list of tabs/windows to restore on startup

  Sometimes ffox fails to restore the previously open tabs/windows. This might be happening when some of the urls to be opened are no longer reachable (e.g. behind a vpn) or after the underlying OS (Windows) has been forcibly restarted (e.g. to complete an automated patch installation). Anyway, after restarting, can this list of urls be recovered somehow? Say for example, I was daft enough to have clicked on "start new session". Can I still get access to the old list of open urls? There is the browser history of course, but it contains a lot of stuff - the urls that were open when ffox last exited are not obvious. It would be neat if they were marked in some way - tagged for example. .robb

  For some reason, I want to dump a table from a database (sqlite3) in the form of a csv file. I'm using a python script with elixir (based on sqlalchemy) to modify the database. I was wondering if there is any way to dump the table I use to csv. I've seen sqlalchemy serializer but it doesn't seem to be what I want. Am I doing it wrong? Should I call the sqlite3 python module after closing my sqlalchemy session to dump to a file instead? Or should I use something homemade?

• Modifying records in my migration throws an authlogic error

  I'm adding some columns to one of my database tables, and then populating those columns: def self.up add_column :contacts, :business_id, :integer add_column :contacts, :business_type, :string Contact.reset_column_information Contact.all.each do |contact| contact.update_attributes(:business_id => contact.client_id, :business_type => 'Client') end remove_column :contacts, :client_id end The line contact.update_attributes is causing the following Authlogic error: You must activate the Authlogic::Session::Base.controller with a controller object before creating objects I have no idea what is going on here - I'm not using a controller method to modify each row in the table. Nor am I creating new objects. The error doesn't occur if the contacts table is empty. I've had a google and it seems like this error can occur when you run your controller tests, and is fixed by adding before_filter :activate_authlogic to them, but this doesn't seem relevant in my case. Any ideas? I'm stumped.

  Can't find any tutorial for creating a simple questionnaire system on RoR (without using Finite State Machines). I think the Model is simple: Quizzes (have many Questions) Questions (belong to Quizzes, have many Choices, have one Answer) Choices (belong to Questions) Responses (belong to Users, belong to Questions) Users (have many Responses). User logs in (session is created), chooses some Quiz (Questions which belong to this Quiz are shown). User navigates through the Questions, makes his choice (Response), finishes the Quiz. Responses are compared with Answers. System shows some results. But as I'm new to Rails it is difficult for me to make it work properly. Any help? Maybe there is a tutorial where some similar app is created?

• CakePHP: Why does adding 'Security' component break my app?

  I have a strange problem -- of my own making -- that's cropped up, and is driving me crazy. At some point, I inadvertently destroyed a file in the app/tmp directory...I'm not sure which file. But now my app breaks when I include the "Security" component, and works just fine when it's not included. I'm thinking it might be related to the Security.salt value somehow, or possibly to the saved session info, but I don't really have a deep enough knowledge of CakePHP to figure it out. Can anyone offer any insight here?

  I'm running into a problem where a Server 2003 SP2 box has started crashing roughly once an hour, BSODing out with the message that fltmgr.sys is probably the cause. • Searching Outlook Global Adress List

  I'm pulling up the Global Address List from Outlook like so... Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.Application oApp = new Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.Application(); AddressList gal = oApp.Session.GetGlobalAddressList(); ...with the aim of eventually being able to search through this in my own application to retrieve contact information which I can then supply to a method that squirrels off an email. Unfortunately given that my own GAL has about 20K entries in (the customers much more) using a foreach or something simply doesn't work in an acceptable timeframe. I want to pass a string like "Tom" to a method and have it return a list of possible contacts. Is this possible outside of actually opening up Outlook and creating the mail there? Note: There are a couple of other questions similar to this but most seem to have no good answer. I'm hoping I have more luck.

  I´m having some trouble retrieving a collection of strings in a projection: say that I have the following classes public class WorkSet { public Guid Id { get; set; } public string Title { get; set; } public ISet<string> PartTitles { get; protected set; } } public class Work { public Guid Id { get; set; } public WorkSet WorkSet { get; set; } //a bunch of other properties } I then have a list of Work ids I want to retrieve WorkSet.Title, WorkSet.PartTitles and Id for. My tought was to do something like this: var works = Session.CreateCriteria<Work>() .Add(Restrictions.In("Id", hitIds)) .CreateAlias("WorkSet", "WorkSet") .SetProjection( Projections.ProjectionList() .Add(Projections.Id()) .Add(Projections.Property("WorkSet.Title")) .Add(Projections.Property("WorkSet.PartTitles"))) .List(); The Id and Title loads up just fine, but the PartTitles returns null. Suggestions please!

• ASP.NET MVC: Is it good to access HttpContext in a controller?

  I've been working with ASP.NET(WebForm) for a while, but new to ASP.NET MVC. From many articles I've read, in most cases the reason that the controllers are hard to test is because they are accessing the runtime components: HttpContext (including Request, Response ...). Accessing HttpContext in a controller seems bad. However, I must access these components somewhere, reading input from Request, sending results back via Response, and using Session to hold a few state variables. So where is the best place to access these runtime components if we don't access them in a controller? Best regards, Zach@Shine

I am wondering if it's anything to do with the threads? But I wouldn't know how to solve it if it was. The complete exception thrown is: The object invoked has disconnected from its clients. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80010108 (RPC_E_DISCONNECTED))

• Replay attacks for HTTPS requests

  Let's say a security tester uses a proxy, say Fiddler, and records an HTTPS request using the administrator's credentials-- on replay of the entire request (including session and auth cookies) the security tester is able to succesfully (re)record transactions. The claim is that this is a sign of a CSRF vulnerability. What would a malicious user have to do to intercept the HTTPS request and replay it? It this a task for script kiddies, well funded military hacking teams or time-traveling-alien technology? Is it really so easy to record the SSL sessions of users and replay them before the tickets expire? No code in the application currently does anything interesting on HTTP GET, so AFAIK, tricking the admin into clicking a link or loading a image with a malicious URL isn't an issue.
