  • How can I find the places of system calls of my program?

    - by Lucky Man
From strace manual: -i Print the instruction pointer at the time of the system call. I straced my programm: strace -i prog As a result I got a lot of system calls. One of them: [000da49c] open("./rabbit.o", O_RDONLY) = 3 But disassembled instruction at this address of prog doesn't call any syscall (hte editor): da49c ! mov r7, ip What is wrong? How can I find the places of system calls of my program? P.S. Architecture of my device doesn't support GDB-command catch syscall.

  • Qt: Printing pageRect and paperRect issues

    - by Pavels
I have following printing code: void Print(QPrinter *printer) { QPainter q(printer); q.setRenderHint(QPainter::HighQualityAntialiasing, true); q.setPen(QPen(QColor("red"))); q.drawRect(printer->pageRect()); q.drawLine(printer->pageRect().topRight(), printer->pageRect().bottomLeft()); q.setPen(QPen(QColor("blue"))); q.drawRect(printer->paperRect()); q.drawLine(printer->paperRect().topRight(), printer->paperRect().bottomLeft()); } The result is different with QPrintPreviewDialog, rendered PDF, output to printers (HP LaserJet, PdfFactory, PdfCreator). Most of time the resulting rectangle is out of paper. What to do so the output is similar to all printers?

  • Find/parse server-side <?abc?>-like tags in html document

    - by Iggyhopper
I guess I need some regex help. I want to find all tags like <?abc?> so that I can replace it with whatever the results are for the code ran inside. I just need help regexing the tag/code string, not parsing the code inside :p. <b><?abc print 'test' ?></b> would result in <b>test</b> Edit: Not specifically but in general, matching (<?[chars] (code group) ?>)

  • How to handle an "infinite" IEnumerable?

    - by Danvil
A trivial example of an "infinite" IEnumerable would be IEnumerable<int> Numbers() { int i=0; while(true) { yield return i++; } } I know, that foreach(int i in Numbers().Take(10)) { Console.WriteLine(i); } and var q = Numbers(); foreach(int i in q.Take(10)) { Console.WriteLine(i); } both work fine (and print out the number 0-9). But are there any pitfalls when copying or handling expressions like q? Can I rely on the fact, that they are always evaluated "lazy"? Is there any danger to produce an infinite loop?

  • How to check file exists and rename in perl

    - by Disco
    I'm kinda newbie to perl and looking for a script that will handle file moving. #!/usr/bin/perl -w $filename = 'DUMBFILE'; $destination = '/some/location/'; if (-e $destination + $filename) { print "File Exists ! Renaming .."; move ('/tmp/' + $filename, $destination + $filename + '.1'); } else { move ('/tmp/' + $filename, $destination + $filename); } I'm able to rename it to 1, but i want to be renamed incrementally, like if file.1 exists, rename to .2, and .3 if .2 exists. That should be easy to do, but i'm kinda lost ..

  • not getting output from parmiko/ssh command

    - by Matt
I am using paramiko/ssh/python to attempt to run a command on a remote server. When I ssh manually and run the command in question, I get the results I want. But if I use the python (co-opted from another thread on this site) below, there is no returned data. If I modify the command to be something more basic like 'pwd' or 'ls' I can then get the output. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Matt import paramiko import time import sys, os, select import select username='medelman' password='Ru5h21iz' hostname='10.15.27.166' hostport=22 cmd='tail -f /x/web/mlog.txt' #works cmd='' #doesn't work client = paramiko.SSHClient() client.load_system_host_keys() client.connect(hostname=hostname, username=username, password=password) transport = client.get_transport() channel = transport.open_session() channel.exec_command(cmd) while True: rl, wl, xl = select.select([channel],[],[],0.0) if len(rl) 0: # Must be stdout print channel.recv(1024) time.sleep(1)

  • Weird problem cucumber behaving differently when run with the debugger

    - by James
When I run a cucumber test it executes the code thinking that a collection obtained inside of a controller via a has_many relationship on a model is empty when it isn't. I ran this same test but with the debugger turned and a breakpoint before the collection is used. When I print collection in the debugger at this breakpoint the collection is as it should be (not empty). Then I continue and the test executes as it should. With no debugger and breakpoints though, the test exectues as though the collection is empty. Has anyone had a problem like this/what did you do to fix it?

  • Find the closest vector

    - by Alexey Lebedev
Hello! Recently I wrote the algorithm to quantize an RGB image. Every pixel is represented by an (R,G,B) vector, and quantization codebook is a couple of 3-dimensional vectors. Every pixel of the image needs to be mapped to (say, "replaced by") the codebook pixel closest in terms of euclidean distance (more exactly, squared euclidean). I did it as follows: class EuclideanMetric(DistanceMetric): def __call__(self, x, y): d = x - y return sqrt(sum(d * d, -1)) class Quantizer(object): def __init__(self, codebook, distanceMetric = EuclideanMetric()): self._codebook = codebook self._distMetric = distanceMetric def quantize(self, imageArray): quantizedRaster = zeros(imageArray.shape) X = quantizedRaster.shape[0] Y = quantizedRaster.shape[1] for i in xrange(0, X): print i for j in xrange(0, Y): dist = self._distMetric(imageArray[i,j], self._codebook) code = argmin(dist) quantizedRaster[i,j] = self._codebook[code] return quantizedRaster ...and it works awfully, almost 800 seconds on my Pentium Core Duo 2.2 GHz, 4 Gigs of memory and an image of 2600*2700 pixels:( Is there a way to somewhat optimize this? Maybe the other algorithm or some Python-specific optimizations.

  • Silent Printing of PDF From Within Java

    - by Paul Reiners
We are looking into silent printing of PDF documents from within Java. The printing will be invoked from the desktop and not through a browser so we cannot use JavaScript. PDF Renderer is an operational solution but their rendering quality is not acceptable. iText does not seem to be pluggable with the Java print service. There are some commercial Java libraries, jPDFPrint by Qoppa, JPedal, and ICEpdf which we have not tried out yet. Does anybody have any experience with PDF silent printing from Java?

  • How is a new programming language actually formed/created ?

    - by hory.incpp
Fortran-Algol-Cpl-Bcpl-C-C++-Java ..... Seems like every language is built upon an ancestor language. My question : New languages extend parent ones or there is some kind of a trick? e.g. System.out.print() in Java ; is it actually printf() in C, and so on (printf is actually .. in Cpl)? If so, doesn't this make every further language be slower and need more memory? What separates a new language from a framework?

  • Converting IPv4 or IPv6 address to a long for comparisons

    - by Justin Akehurst
In order to check if an IPv4 or IPv6 address is within a certain range, I've got code that takes an IPv4 address, turns that into a long, then does that same conversion on the upper/lower bound of the subnet, then checks to see if the long is between those values. I'd like to be able to do the same thing for IPv6, but saw nothing in the Python 2.6 standard libraries to allow me to do this, so I wrote this up: import socket, struct from array import array def ip_address_to_long(address): ip_as_long = None try: ip_as_long = socket.ntohl(struct.unpack('L', socket.inet_pton(socket.AF_INET, address))[0]) except socket.error: # try IPv6 try: addr = array('L', struct.unpack('!4L', socket.inet_pton(socket.AF_INET6, address))) addr.reverse() ip_as_long = sum(addr[i] << (i * 32) for i in range(len(addr))) except socket.error as se: raise ValueError('Invalid address') except Exception as e: print str(e) return ip_as_long My question is: Is there a simpler way to do this that I am missing? Is there a standard library call that can do this for me?

  • How to verify a signature using M2Crypto 0.16

    - by Daniel Mccain
After some goggling I found some usual answers for this question, like: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/595114/how-to-load-an-rsa-key-from-a-pem-file-and-use-it-in-python-crypto some code: x509 = X509.load_cert_string(certificate) pubkey = x509.get_pubkey() pubkey.reset_context(md=sha1) pubkey.verify_init() pubkey.verify_update(content) decoded_signature = signature.decode('base64') if pubkey.verify_final(decoded_signature)==0: print 'error' sys.exit(1) and the code presented above works fine in M2Crypto 0.20. But I need to do exactly the same think using the M2Crypto 0.16 (the official package in RHEL5), and I have problems using the pubkey.verify_final method because in this particular version the signature parameter doesn't exist. So how can I do it? using the M2Crypto 0.16 Thanks.

  • Recommend an algorithms exercise book?

    - by Parappa
I have a little book called Problems on Algorithms by Ian Parberry which is chock full of exercises related to the study of algorithms. Can anybody recommend similar books? What I am not looking for are recommendations of good books related to algorithms or the theory of computation. Introduction to Algorithms is a good one, and of course there's the Knuth stuff. Ideally I want to know of any books that are light on instructional material and heavy on sample problems. In a nutshell, exercise books. Preferably dedicated to algorithms rather than general logic or other math problems. By the way, the Parberry book does not seem to be in print, but it is available as a PDF dowload.

As follow: public class EccUDFLogLoader extends LoadFunc { @Override public InputFormat getInputFormat() { System.out.println("I am in getInputFormat function"); return new MyInputFormat(); } } public class MyInputFormat extends TextInputFormat { public RecordReader createRecordReader(InputSplit inputSplit, JobConf jobConf) throws IOException { System.out.prinln("I am in createRecordReader"); //MyRecordReader suppose to handle record boundary return new MyRecordReader((FileSplit)inputSplit, jobConf); } } For each mapper, it print out I am in getInputFormat function but not I am in createRecordReader. I am wondering if anyone can provide a hint on how to hoop up my costome MyInputFormat to PIG's UDF loader? Much Thanks. I am using PIG on Amazon EMR.

  • UML tool required for C#

    - by Peter Morris
I need some help - here are my requirements. 1: I should be able to modify the UML model without affecting the code, and then later apply the changes. This is because I need to print the changes, get them confirmed, and then develop them. 2: I should be able to reuse parts of the model. For example I would create one project which outputs A.dll assembly, and then another UML project would use the classes in the first to crate B.dll 3: Project stored as text so I can see changes in version control history. 4: Together is too expensive :-)

However, it's one too high. Does this have something to do with the recursion? Thanks.

I want to do something like: for sandwich in request.POST['sandwiches']: print "%s on %s with %s is yummy!" % (sandwich['meat'], sandwich['bread'], sandwich['topping']) But I don't seem to have a list of dicts when my data arrives at my client app.
