    If i have a product. var p = new Product { Price = 30 }; and i have the following linq query. var q = repo.Products().Where(x=>x.Price == p.Price).ToList() In an IQueryable provider, I get a MemberExpression back for the p.Price which contains a Constant Expression, however I can't seem to get the value "30" back from it.     I learning ASP.net, and am looking to create a rather straightforward WebForms ASP.net application, but I have very limited examples to work with. Is there a site that has a lot of ASP.net WebForms projects that are downloadable? Books seem to focus on narrow aspects of using Webforms, like session control, or using master pages, but I'm looking for examples of how a whole app comes together. Or, better yet, is there someone willing to help a new developer out one-on-one by sharing a project or two of his? I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

  • rake task can't access rails.cache

    Hi I want to call a rake task from a cron job that stores remote weather data in the rails cache. However, I must be doing something pretty wrong here because I cannot find any solution through countless fruitless searches. Say I define and call this task namespace :weather do desc "Store weather from remote source to cache" task :cache do Rails.cache.write('weather_data', Date.today) end end I get the error Anonymous modules have no name to be referenced by Which leads me to believe the rails cache isn't available. Outputting Rails.class from the rake file gives me Module but Rails.cache.class again returns the above error. Do I need to include something here? Am I just hopeless at internet? :) Thanks in advance.

  • Open Source Log Aggregators?

    I have sixteen servers using Log4J logs, accessible by ssh. I want to see the output of all logs on my desktop machine. Apache Chainsaw can presumably do this, but the documentation isn't getting me there. "Put all the jars into your ~/.chainsaw directory", got that. "Chainsaw will automatically use the functionality in those JARs"? Nope. Chainsaw isn't picking up log4j-chainsaw-vfs.jar, by the look of it, so sftp is out. Any suggestions other than Chainsaw?

    Hi, I copied an MSAccess 2007 db from a workstation onto another workstation. I added the DB folder to Trusted Locations. I check the file properties readonly flag, but it is unchecked. But the database is opened in ReadOnly mode. What am I missing here please??? Malcolm

  • C# problem with two threads and hardware access

    I'm creating an application which communicates with the device via FT2232H USB/RS232 converter. For communication I'm using FTD2XX_NET.dll library from FTDI website. I'm using two threads: first thread continuously reads data from the device the second thread is the main thread of the Windows Form Application I've got a problem when I'm trying to write any data to the device while the receiver's thread is running. The main thread simply hangs up on ftdiDevice.Write function. I tried to synchronize both threads so that only one thread can use Read/Write function at the same time, but it didn't help. Below code responsible for the communication. Note that following functions are methods of FtdiPort class.   • Open-source generic web service to database interface?

    I'm looking for a thin, generic layer (probably written in PHP) that sits between a database (probably MySQL) and web service clients (which could be anything). I imagine there would be config files of some sort that tell it how to map web service requests to database queries (or other DB commands). It would also need to handle authentication and authorization, of course. I've done some googling but failed to find anything that fits the bill. Can anyone suggest something like this?

  • .NET AxWebBrowser can't open page "Navigation to the webpage was canceled" error

    Oh, I am stuck again on this quiet annoying problem. I am trying to do a little automated browsing using the axWebBrowser component and it worked before. Now all of a sudden I get the following message when I try to browse to a page. Navigation to the webpage was canceled What you can try: Refresh the page. I totally disabled my firewall, ran VS2008 in Administrator mode, I even installed IE8 all to no avail. By the way IE8 doesn't work either. I don't know if the problem is related but all I get when I put a URL into IE8 is this message. Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage I don't so much mind that, I just really need to get my visual studio axWebBrowser working.

    Hi, I'm using LINQ to Entities on a database which structure is not known in advance. I use reflection to retrieve the information, and now have a list of strings with all the table names. Because I use LINQ, I also have the datasource encapsulated in a C# class (linqContext), with each table being a property of that class. What I want to achieve is this: Assume one of the strings in the table names list is "Employees". This is known in code, I want to do the following: linqContext.Employees.DoSomethingHere(); Is this possible? I know that if all the propertie were just items in a list, I could use the string as indexer, linqContext["Employees"]. However, this is not the case :(
