  I have a WCF service running, I added a reference to the service by using Add Service Reference in the solution explorer, and I checked the box for create asynchronous operations. My call works fine, I have a two way channel that reports back some events from the server and I am receiving the events. • parsed xml file: skip creation if blank?

  This could be a HappyMapper specific question, but I don't think so. In my app, users can upload their blog subscriptions (via an OPML file), which I parse and add to their profile. The only problem is during the parsing, or more specifically the creation of each subscription, I can't figure out how to skip over entries that are just "labels". Since OPML files allow you to label your blogs, or organize them into folders, this is my problem. But how do I prevent it from creating new "feeds" for those outline tags that are just tags? (i.e. those that don't have an htmlUrl?)

• dumping the source code for an anonymous function

  I'm working with a lot of anonymous functions, ie functions declared as part of a dictionary, aka "methods". It's getting pretty painful to debug, because I can't tell what function the errors are happening in. Vim's backtraces look like this: Error detected while processing function NamedFunction..2111..2105: line 1: E730: using List as a String This trace shows that the error occurred in the third level down the stack, on the first line of anonymous function #2105. IE NamedFunction called anonymous function #2111, which called anonymous function #2105. NamedFunction is one declared through the normal function NamedFunction() ... endfunction syntax; the others were declared using code like function dict.func() ... endfunction. So obviously I'd like to find out which function has number 2105. Assuming that it's still in scope, it's possible to find out what Dictionary entry references it by dumping all of the dictionary variables that might contain that reference. This is sort of awkward and it's difficult to be systematic about it, though I guess I could code up a function to search through all of the loaded dictionaries for a reference to that function, watching out for circular references. Although to be really thorough, it would have to search not only script-local and global dictionaries, but buffer-local dictionaries as well; is there a way to access another buffer's local variables? Anyway I'm wondering if it's possible to dump the source code for the anonymous function instead. This would be a lot easier and probably more reliable.

• Reusing service proxies

  I have a set of webservices that I connect to using Silverlight Client. I use proxies generated by "Add service reference" or SLSVCUTIL.exe tool to connect to this service. So far, I have only used one single service. Now I want to use another service on the same server. The problem is that, first service generated set of proxy classes for me, and second service will reuse the same set of classes (plus extra services/classes), e.g. CustomerService.SaveCustomer(Customer customer); OrderService.CheckCustomerLevel(Customer customer); The problem is when I add reference to the second service, I can not reuse the same namespace for the second one (VS error), and when I use a different namespace, the generated classes, although are essentially the same, reside in different namespace, hence different and I end up with two Customer classes in two different namespaces. Anyway around this? I just neeed to have two set of services, reusing the Customer class. I have already tried "reuse types in assembly / all assemblies" check mark when generating proxy classes, but it seems to have no effect. any help is greatly appreciated.

• Why does Facebook iOS dialog for feed publish disappear after login?

  I'm trying to use the Facebook iOS "feed" dialog call to allow my app's user to share something on their Facebook wall. When the facebook app is not installed, it attempts to let them authenticate within the app (presumably using a web view). The issue is that this dialog just disappears once they authenticate. I was expecting the web view to return to the "feed" sharing view. How do I detect that they authenticated so that I can re-open the feed dialog? I've added fbDidLogin to my app delegate, but it's not being called. (I wasn't sure if this would normally be called or not, but I read several people recommending this.)   I have a Visual Studio 2008 solution with two projects (a Word-Template project and a VB.Net console application for testing). Both projects reference a database project which opens a connection to an MS-Access 2007 database file and have references to System.Data.OleDb. • Trying to grab just absolute links from a webpage using BeautifulSoup

  I am reading the contents of a webpage using BeautifulSoup. What I want is to just grab the <a href> that start with http://. I know in beautifulsoup you can search by the attributes. I guess I am just having a syntax issue. I would imagine it would go something like. page = urllib2.urlopen("http://www.linkpages.com") soup = BeautifulSoup(page) for link in soup.findAll('a'): if link['href'].startswith('http://'): print links But that returns: Traceback (most recent call last): File "<stdin>", line 2, in <module> File "C:\Python26\lib\BeautifulSoup.py", line 598, in __getitem__ return self._getAttrMap()[key] KeyError: 'href' Any ideas? Thanks in advance. EDIT This isn't for any site in particular. The script gets the url from the user. So internal link targets would be an issue, that's also why I only want the <'a'> from the pages.   I have a WCF Web Service that my ASP.NET app uses. It has been working fine for quite some time. I just added in a Dev Express Grid (and the Dev Express DLLs) and a new page that uses them and now I am getting parsing errors on the WSDL. But the weird part is that it works fine on my machine but fails on the web server machine. (Both are connecting to the same web services WSDL.)   On an iPhone App, I've got a custom keyboard which works like the standard keyboard; it appears if a custom textfield becomes first responder and hides if the field resigns first responder. Now since iPhone OS 3.0, UITableViewController automatically resizes its tableView when the system keyboards show and hide. I'm only now compiling against 3.0 and I thought that the controller should also resize the table if my custom keyboard appears, since I'm posting the same notification. However it doesn't. The table view controller is set as the delegate of the input fields. Does anyone have an idea why this might be the case? Has anyone implemented something similar successfully? I have standard input fields along the custom ones, so if the user changes the fields the standard keyboard hides and the custom one shows. It would be beneficial if the tableView didn't resize to full height and I didn't have to resize it back with a custom method.

• Grouped UITableView shows blank space when section is empty

  Hello, I have a grouped UITableView where not all sections may be displayed at once, the table is driven by some data that not every record may have. My trouble is that the records that don't have certain sections show up as blank spaces in the table (see picture) There are no footers/headers. • Can xjc -version be trusted?

  I've spent the day debugging an issue with JAXB getting namespaces wrong or missing (possibly related to Marshaller.JAXB_FRAGMENT, but that's not the point here). I found the problem occurs with JAXB RI 2.1.10 in my endorsed dir. It is fixed if I use JAXB RI 2.2.4 or 2.2.6 Here is what is really confusing (and what made it take so long). The problem occurs on Linux with: $ java -version java version "1.7.0_03" OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea7 2.1.1pre) (7~u3-2.1.1~pre1-1ubuntu2) OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 22.0-b10, mixed mode) $ xjc -version xjc 2.2.4 but it should work fine, if this java really uses JAXB RI 2.2.4 !! Similarly, I can't reproduce the issue on Windows with Java 1.6.0_27, which reports: C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_27\bin>java -version java version "1.6.0_27" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_27-b07) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.2-b06, mixed mode) C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_27\bin>xjc -version xjc version "JAXB 2.1.10 in JDK 6" JavaTM Architecture for XML Binding(JAXB) Reference Implementation, (build JAXB 2.1.10 in JDK 6) and yet if I put 2.1.10 RI in my endorsed dir, the problem occurs. It should occur with 1.6.0_27, if that really uses JAXB RI 2.1.10. It seems to me that the problem I'm experiencing has been fixed in the reference implementation somewhere after 2.1.10 and before 2.2.4, but that neither of the 2 VM's above actually use the JAXB version they claim to. Or possibly they use the xjc they claim, but not what is in jaxb-api.jar and jaxb-impl.jar (I know there is a difference in the namespace prefix mapper property, but that won't be causing this problem). I've done these experiments on Win 7 and Ubuntu, in tomcat (no eclipse), and in eclipse (no tomcat), so I'm pretty confident I'm explaining my findings correctly. The web service is running on Glassfish and is soap 1.1, I've tried using all the packaged wcf bindings but have not been able to get them to work. I started down the path of using a MessageInspector, and wrote one but then realized there must be a better way, surely WCF provides some way to insert saml 2.0 assertions. I've made the most progress writing a custom binding - i've been able to get the timestamp and signature nodes in the soap header, but cannot for the life of me figure out the saml assertion. • Passing a NSArray between classes

  So, my second question based off of this application I'm teaching myself Objective C with. Now the problem is that when I try to get the array listNames, it returns nothing. The following piece: NSArray* data = [listData listNames]; Is supposed to put the information in listNames in data, but... isn't. Since I'm rather used to JAva, I'm betting this is an Objective C quirk that I don't know how to fix. Which is why I'd be here asking for help. What's the proper way to pass around NSArrays like this?

Levering on other more simple computer languages I am trying to set a dynamic name for a list of buttons generated by a simple loop (as the following code suggest). Simply putting it, I would like to have several UIButtons generated dynamically (within a loop) naming them dynamically, as well as other related functions. button1,button2,button3 etc.. • Worksheet.Unprotect - Office Interop - Difference between 2003 and 2007

  I have a .NET winforms app that automates Excel and checks for a worksheet password. The requirements are to be able to detect 1) that the protection is turned off 2) that the password is removed (protected but there is no password) 3) that the password matches the correct password from a database To meet the second requirement the program calls the Worksheet.Unprotect command with a null string, capturing the error. If error as expected, the 3rd check is made. If no error, then the Unprotect worked without a password == password was removed. The code sample below has these checks. The application can do this fine with Office 2003. I have since had my dev machine updated to Office 2007 and it no longer works as it did. When I call the Worksheet.Unprotect, Excel prompts for the password! I need to know how this should be accomplished in the new version of Excel or if there is a way to reference the old PIA. No matter what if I set a reference to Excel 11 it is replaced with the PIA for 12 in the GAC. Edit: I tried going the @Luke way and arranged the code as follows as minimal as possible: (file paths are relative to the project root) # admin.py from django.contrib.admin import autodiscover from django.contrib.admin.sites import AdminSite user_site = AdminSite(name='useradmin') # urls.py (does not even have url patterns; just calls autodiscover()) import admin admin.autodiscover() # products/admin.py import admin from products.models import Product admin.user_site.register(Product) As a result I get an AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute 'user_site' when admin.user_site.register(Product) in products/admin.py is called. Any ideas? Solution: I don't know if there are better ways but, renaming the admin.py in the project root to useradmin.py and updating the imports accordingly resolved the last case, which was a naming and import conflict.

• NSURL Connection will/won't load data

  So here's my issue: I followed the NSURLConnection tutorial in the iPhone Developer Documentation almost to the T, and it only kinda works. Here's where it all goes wrong: The object seems to be created correctly and delegates to connectionDidFinishLoading, but with any URL I try to load the response data always ends up only being 0 bytes. I am running in the simulator if that makes any difference. • Changing UITableViewCell textLabel background color to clear

  In my app i have a table view with customViewCells. i subclassed the UITableViewCell class and added an image that will load async and for the text i use cell.textLabel.text = @"someThext". for the cells the background color is set alternatively to [UIColor darkGrayColor] and whitecolor. When i run the app in the simulator and on the pone the textLabel of the cell has the background white. I want to set it to be clear, because i want the background color of the cell to be full not a strip then white then another strip. in the init method of my custom cell i added hoping that the white will turn into red but it doesn't have any effect. [self.textLabel setBackgroundColor:[UIColor redColor]]; i tried also self.textLabel.backgroundColor = [UIColor redColor]; but this also didn't work...if i add a UILabel as a subview the background color of the label can be set..but i don't want to do that because when i rotate the phone i want my labels to auto enlarge... any ideas why setting the background color of cell.textLabel doesn't work? thank you
