• How to preselect nodes using jsTree jQuery plug-in

  I am using the jsTree jQuery plug-in with its "Checkbox" plug-in and using an async http request to lazy-load each level of the tree. All works great, except that I cannot get the tree to pre-select certain nodes after the first level. I am using the "selected" attribute to provide an array of ID's to preselect. ID's in the top level of the tree are correctly pre-selected. However, ID's in lower levels of the tree are not selected when the level loads. Am I missing something?   I came across many questions on deep copy but non of them helped me I have a class say class A { ... public List<B> ListB; .... } where B is again another class which inturn may inherit/contain some other classes Take this scenario A is a very huge class and contain many reference types I can not mark B as serializable as i don't have access to source code of B(Though I can Mark A as serializable) Problem:below methods to perform deep copy does not work because I can not use Iclonable, memberwise clone technique as class A conatins many reference types I can not write a copy constructor for A , as the class is huge and keeps growing and contained classes (Like B) can't be deep copied I can't use serialization technique as i can not mark conatined class(like B, for which no source code avilaable) as serializable So how can I deep copy the object of Class A? (I read about "surrogate serialization" technique some where but not clear)

• Linq to SQl over WCF Timesout after several calls

  I have a L2S Repository class which instantiates the L2S DataContext in its constructor. The repository is instantiated at run time (using Unity) in a service hosted in IIS with WCF. When I run up the client MVC applicaton the calls to the backend WCF service work for a while and then timeout. I suspected perhaps a database issue as I was depending on IIS garbage collection to dispose of unused DataContext instances in the IIS host but when I checked the characteristics of the problem I notice the following: The client makes the call to WCF but the WCF service does not respond. Next, the client times out Some time later (several minutes) the service actually executes the request by instantiating the repository and servicing the call. I have checked both client and server traces logs and only the client shows WCF errors (the timeout error). Where should I look? Is it something in WCF or is L2S possibly blocking with unfreed conenctions, resources etc.? Many thanks Brian

  Hi guys, I am new to ninject, I am wondering how I can run custom initizlisation code when constructing the injected objects? ie. I have a Sword class which implements IWeapon, but I want to pass an hit point value to the Sword class constructor, how do I achieve that? Do I need to write my own provider? A minor question, IKernel kernel = new StandardKernel(new Module1(), new Module2(), ...); what is the actual use of having multiple modules in Kernel?   hey guys, I have a WPF application that contains windows with few user controls and Coordinator object. the window and all its user controls pointing to an object, which instace is in the Coordinator, by thier DataContext. the problem is that I want to change this object (e.g. create new object()) in the Coordinator but I want all the dataContexts to point to the new object. I tried to send the object by ref to the window constructor but it didn't help. any idea about how can I rewrite the memory location that all pointers are pointing to? (I don't want to repalce the properties in object since its a lot of work nor to use a middle object that points to the replaced object) Thanks Eran

  From MSDN (link): The type PrintDocumentImageableArea has no public constructor. Hence, the variable documentImageableArea must be declared and assigned to Nothing and only then passed to the method. This method displays a PrintDialog requiring input from the user. After the user has selected a printer, paper size, and orientation and closed the dialog, documentImageableArea points to an actual object and its properties are initialized. I have my custom print dialog and need to get the PrintDocumentImageableArea of a given PrintQueue and PrintTicket! (I need the margin's I need to apply) From what I can gather it is quite common for anything but the most basic applications to use their own custom print dialog. There must be a way to get to this information!? Any input appreciated!

• Java exception: "Can't get a Writer while an OutputStream is already in use" when running xAgent

  I am trying to implement Paul Calhoun's Apache FOP solution for creating PDF's from Xpages (from Notes In 9 #102). I am getting the following java exception when trying to run the xAgent that does the processing -- Can't get a Writer while an OutputStream is already in use The only changes that I have done from Paul's code was to change the package name. I have isolated when the exception happens to the SSJS line: var jce: DominoXMLFO2PDF = new DominoXMLFO2PDF(); All that line does is instantiate the class, there is no custom constructor. I don't believe it is the code itself, but some configuration issue. The SSJS code is in the beforeRenderResponse event where it should be, I haven't changed anything on the xAgent. I have copied the jar files from Paul's sample database to mine, I have verified that the build paths are the same between the two databases. Everything compiles fine (after I did all this.) This exception appears to be an xpages only exception.

  All, I have a PHP application written in Zend Framework with MVC style. I plan to use Zend_DB to connect to the MySQL database and process queries. I am looking for a wrapper class which makes it easy to use Zend_DB class. This wrapper class will have a constructor that connects to the Mysql db using Zend_DB. It will also have a method to return a singleton instance for each and every db connection made. Something like: $pptDB = PPTDB::getInstance(); $pptDB->setFetchMode(PPTDB::FETCH_OBJ); $result = $pptDB->fetchRow('SELECT * FROM bugs WHERE bug_id = 2'); echo $result->bug_description; Where class PPTDB extends Zend_DB Is this something feasible to have? • ANTLR parser hanging at proxy.handshake call

  I am attempting to get a basic ECMAScript parser working, and found a complete ANTLR grammar for ECMAScript 3, which appears to compile ok and produces the appropriate Lexer/Parser/Walker Java files. (Running inside ANTLR IDE plugin for Eclipse 3.5) However, when actually trying to use it with some simple test code (following guide on ANTLR wiki), it just hangs when trying to create the parser: CharStream MyChars = new ANTLRFileStream(FileName); // FileName is valid ES3Lexer MyLexer = new ES3Lexer(MyChars); CommonTokenStream MyTokens = new CommonTokenStream(MyLexer); MyTokens.setTokenSource(MyLexer); ES3Parser MyParser = new ES3Parser( MyTokens ); // hangs here ES3Parser.program_return MyReturn = MyParser.program(); I've tracked down the problem to inside the ES3Parser constructor, where it's calling the function proxy.handshake() - before this line I can successfully do System.out.println("text") but after it I get nothing. So, how do I go about finding out why it's hanging, and stopping it - or even just bypassing this section (can/should I disable debugging?) - so long as that lets it work and allows me to get on with doing useful stuff.

• Android: No icon for Notification

  Hello, I wanted to create a notification without the icon in the status bar (the state that is not expanded). I tried the custom expanded view and set the icon for this view only. But it did not work. When I give 0 as icon to the constructor, the icon disappears but notification also does not appear in the expanded view. Notification notification = new Notification(0, "", 0); I tried a lot of combinations but didn't come out with a solution. By the way, I know it is working because I saw this feature in some apps.   It seems like a simple task. Create a C# class that derives from ToolStripButton. The derived ToolStripButton should behave exactly the same as the parent class in the designer and the application, except that the default image should be different. Surprisingly just changing the constructor is not sufficient: public CustomToolStripButton() { base.Image = (Image) new Bitmap(typeof(CustomToolStripButton), "CustomImage.bmp"); } When the ToolStripButton is displayed in the designer, the original default image is shown. There must be a simple solution. What could it be?

• ASP.NET MVC ViewModelBuilder Suggestions

  For anything but trival view models, I use a view model builder that handles the responsibility of generating the view model object. Right now, I use constructor injection of the builders into my controllers but this smells a little since the builder is really dependent upon which action method is being executed. I have two ideas in mind. The first one would involve a custom ActioFilter allowing me to decorate each action method with the appropriate builder to use. The second would be to add an override of the View method that is open to accepting a generic. This is what my code currently looks like. Note, the builder get injected via the ctor. [HttpGet, ImportModelStateFromTempData, Compress] public ActionResult MyAccount() { return View(accountBuilder.Build()); } Here is what option one would look like: [HttpGet, ImportModelStateFromTempData, Compress, ViewModelBuilder(typeof(IMyAccountViewModelBuilder)] public ActionResult MyAccount() { return View(accountBuilder.Build()); } Or option two: [HttpGet, ImportModelStateFromTempData, Compress] public ActionResult MyAccount() { return View<IMyAccountViewModelBuilder>(); } Any thoughts or suggestions would be great!

  I am trying to write a unit test for my one controller to verify if a view was returned properly, but this controller has a basecontroller that accesses the HttpContext.Current.Session. Everytime I create a new instance of my controller is calls the basecontroller constructor and the test fails with a null pointer exception on the HttpContext.Current.Session.   I'm self-hosting several services where I do this to register the service: host = new ServiceHost(typeof(MyService)); host.Open(); Behind the scenes, wcf instantiates my service via the default constructor. Is it possble to use the WCF Integration Facility of Castle Windsor to get WCF to call on Windsor to create the service when I am self-hosting? The example seems shows IIS hosted services where the 1st line of the MyService.svc file looks like: <%@ServiceHost language=c# Debug="true" Service="Microsoft.ServiceModel.Samples.CalculatorService" Factory=WindsorServiceHostFactory%> where presumably a factory is used by wcf to instantiate the service instance.

What i would like to do is : set the geocoder as a property of my controller create the geocoder in the init method call the geocoder in the method i want to test replace the geocoder with a mock in my test The problem is that the MKReverseGeocoder coordinate property is read only, i can only set it in the constructor method : [[MKReverseGeocoder alloc] initWithCoordinate:coord] And of course the coordinates are only available in the method i want to test.. • Pass a variable to a Symfony Form

  Hi, I am building a web application using Symfony 1.4 and Doctrine for a school and I want to make a very simple form to add a course to a student. The main problem I have is that in the drop down list I only want to show the courses in which the student is currently not enrolled. I already have a function in the model (in Student.class.php) which returns all the courses in which the student is not enrolled but the problem is I don't know how to pass the student to the configure() of the form. I have tried several options like passing it with the constructor of the form to a global variable or a special set method but none of them have worked. Is there any form to pass the student to the configure() method? Thanks!

• SqlDateTime overflow thrown by Typed DataSet Insert

  I'm using a Typed DataSet with an Insert statement; I have a table that has a smalldatetime field defined to accept null values. When I insert from a .NET 2.0 FormView, I get a "SqlDateTime overflow. Must be between 1/1/1753 12:00:00 AM and 12/31/9999 11:59:59 PM." Now, I've read this post, and the parameter as sent to the class constructor is defined as global::System.Nullable<global::System.DateTime> DoB So, it looks like it should accept a Nullable obj. Additionally, the generated code is testing the value sent. if ((DoB.HasValue == true)) { command.Parameters[6].Value = ((System.DateTime)(DoB.Value)); } else { command.Parameters[6].Value = global::System.DBNull.Value; } Specifically, the error is occurring when generated SqlClient.SqlCommand.ExecuteScalar() runs: try { returnValue = command.ExecuteScalar(); } So, I guess my question is: how do I use a Typed DataSet to set a blank value (passed from a FormView on CommandName=Insert) to a null in a database?
