  • make a thread which recieves values from other threads

    - by farteaga88
    This program in Java creates a list of 15 numbers and creates 3 threads to search for the maximum in a given interval. I want to create another thread that takes those 3 numbers and get the maximum. but i don't know how to get those values in the other thread. public class apple implements Runnable{ String name; int time, number, first, last, maximum; int[] array = {12, 32, 54 ,64, 656, 756, 765 ,43, 34, 54,5 ,45 ,6 , 5, 65}; public apple(String s, int f, int l){ name = s; first = f; last = l; maximum = array[0]; } public void run(){ try{ for(int i = first; i < last; i++ ) { if(maximum < array[i]) { maximum = array[i]; } } System.out.println("Thread"+ name + "maximum = " + maximum); }catch(Exception e){} } public static void main(String[] args){ Thread t1 = new Thread(new apple("1 ", 0, 5)); Thread t2 = new Thread(new apple("2 ", 5, 10 )); Thread t3 = new Thread(new apple("3 ", 10, 15)); try{ t1.start(); t2.start(); t3.start(); }catch(Exception e){} } }

  • Android: How to change my ExpandAnimation class to handle animation correctly?

    - by IamStalker
    here is my animation class that i have taken from Udnic - thanks m8, but i'm using it "not from closed position but from opened" and it's jumps and not behaving correctly. what should i do? public class ExpandAnimation extends Animation { private View mAnimatedView; private LinearLayout.LayoutParams mViewLayoutParams; public int mMarginStart, mMarginEnd; private boolean mIsVisibleAfter = false; private boolean mWasEndedAlready = false; private ImageView mImageView; /** * Initialize the animation * @param view The layout we want to animate * @param duration The duration of the animation, in ms */ public ExpandAnimation(View view, int duration, ImageView imageView) { setDuration(duration); mImageView = imageView; mAnimatedView = view; mViewLayoutParams = (LinearLayout.LayoutParams) view.getLayoutParams(); mMarginStart = mMarginEnd = 0; // decide to show or hide the view mIsVisibleAfter = (view.getVisibility() == View.VISIBLE); //mIsVisibleAfter = (mViewLayoutParams.bottomMargin == 0); mMarginStart = mViewLayoutParams.bottomMargin; if(mMarginStart != 0) mMarginStart = 0 - view.getHeight(); mMarginEnd = (mMarginStart == 0 ? • Different standard streams per POSIX thread

    - by Roman Nikitchenko
    Is there any possibility to achieve different redirections for standard output like printf(3) for different POSIX thread? What about standard input? I have lot of code based on standard input/output and I only can separate this code into different POSIX thread, not process. Linux operation system, C standard library. I know I can refactor code to replace printf() to fprintf() and further in this style. But in this case I need to provide some kind of context which old code doesn't have. So doesn't anybody have better idea (look into code below)? #include <pthread.h> #include <stdio.h> void* different_thread(void*) { // Something to redirect standard output which doesn't affect main thread. // ... // printf() shall go to different stream. printf("subthread test\n"); return NULL; } int main() { pthread_t id; pthread_create(&id, NULL, different_thread, NULL); // In main thread things should be printed normally... printf("main thread test\n"); pthread_join(id, NULL); return 0; }

  • ASP.NET page with base class with dynamic master page not firing events

    - by Kangkan
    Hi guys! I am feeling that I have terribly wrong somewhere. I was working on a small asp.net app. I have some dynamic themes in the \theme folder and have implemented a page base class to load the master page on the fly. The master is having the ContentPlaceHolder like: <asp:ContentPlaceHolder ID="cphBody" runat="server" /> Now I am adding pages that are derived from my base class and added the form elements. I know, Visual Studio has problem showing the page in the design mode. I have a dropdown box and wish to add the event of onselectedindexchange. But it is not working. the page is like this: <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" Inherits="trigon.web.Pages.MIS.JobStatus" Title="Job Status" AspCompat="true" CodeBehind="JobStatus.aspx.cs" %> <asp:Content ID="Content1" ContentPlaceHolderID="cphBody" runat="Server"> <div id="divError" runat="server" /> <asp:DropDownList runat="server" id="jobType" onselectedindexchange="On_jobTypeSelection_Change"></asp:DropDownList> </asp:Content> I have also tried adding the event on the code behind like: protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { jobType.SelectedIndexChanged += new System.EventHandler(this.On_jobTypeSelection_Change); if (!IsPostBack) { JobStatus_DA da = new JobStatus_DA(); jobType.DataSource = da.getJobTypes(); jobType.DataBind(); } } protected void On_jobTypeSelection_Change(Object sender, EventArgs e) { //do something here } Can anybody help? • cancelPreviousPerformRequestWithTarget is not canceling my previously delayed thread started with pe

    - by jmurphy
    Hello, I've launched a delayed thread using performSelector but the user still has the ability to hit the back button on the current view causing dealloc to be called. When this happens my thread still seems to be called which causes my app to crash because the properties that thread is trying to write to have been released. To solve this I am trying to call cancelPreviousPerformRequestsWithTarget to cancel the previous request but it doesn't seem to be working. Below are some code snippets. - (void) viewDidLoad { [self performSelector:@selector(myStopUpdatingLocation) withObject:nil afterDelay:6]; } (void)viewWillDisappear:(BOOL)animated { [NSObject cancelPreviousPerformRequestsWithTarget:self selector:@selector(myStopUpdatingLocation) object:nil]; } Am I doing something incorrect here? The method myStopUpdatingLocation is defined in the same class that I'm calling the perform requests. A little more background. The function that I'm trying to implement is to find a users location, search google for some locations around that location and display several annotations on the map. On viewDidLoad I start updating the location with CLLocationManager. I've build in a timeout after 6 seconds if I don't get my desired accuracy within the timeout and I'm using a performSelector to do this. What can happen is the user clicks the back button in the view and this thread will still execute even though all my properties have been released causing a crash. Thanks in advance! James

  • Android Java ArrayList inserting element not working

    - by DavidNg
    I have a simple Android program with one button and one textview. When the button is clicked, a number is inserted in in an ArrayList. However, it does not work. If changing to add, it works fine. package test_ad.com; import java.util.ArrayList; import android.app.Activity; import android.os.Bundle; import android.view.View; import android.view.View.OnClickListener; import android.widget.Button; import android.widget.TextView; public class Test_adActivity extends Activity { ArrayList<Integer> al = new ArrayList<Integer>(); Button myB; public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); myB = (Button) findViewById(R.id.button1); myTV = (TextView) findViewById(R.id.textView1); myB.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener() { public void onClick(View arg0) { al.set(i,10*i);//insert an Integer at index i, but not working i++; if (i == 5) myTV.setText(al.toString()); } }); } }

  • Seam @Factory in abstract base class?

    - by Shadowman
    I've got a series of web actions I'm implementing in Seam to perform create, read, update, etc. operations. For my read/update/delete actions, I'd like to have individual action classes that all extend an abstract base class. I'd like to put the @Factory method in the abstract base class to retrieve the item that is to be acted upon. For example, I have this as the base class: public abstract class BaseAction { @In(required=false)@Out(required=false) private MyItem item=null; public MyItem getItem(){...} public void setItem(...){...} @Factory("item") public void initItem(){...} } My subclasses would extend BaseAction, so that I don't have to repeat the logic to load the item that is to be viewed, deleted, updated, etc. However, when I start my application, Seam throws errors saying I have declared multiple @Factory's for the same object. Is there any way around this? Is there any way to provide the @Factory in the base class without encoutnering these errors?

  • Which plugin framework to use for native C++/Win32

    - by Kerido
    Hi everybody. I have an extensible product that allows 3rd party developers to extend it. The aspects that can be extended are documented and interfaces are provided in the SDK. Currently, I'm using COM and I'm getting pretty comfortable with it. I especially like the ability to provide interface versioning in a unified manner. I consider it to be a requirement because you never know what you're gonna need in the future. Just to be precise, here's an example. Let's suppose I have an interface representing a particular feature: class IFeature { public: virtual void DoFeatureTask() = 0; }; Then after the interface is already documented (and someone may have used it in the plugin code) I'm realizing, I need more from this feature. Maybe, there is an option I need to provide. I just define the second version: class IFeature2 { public: virtual void DoFeatureTask(int theOption) = 0; }; I don't mean I intend to have lots of versions. But it just may happen. In COM, because every interface is associated with a GUID, I can query a preferred implementation, determine its presence, and, finally, fall back to a legacy one. But after glancing through C++/COM-related questions, I noticed many recommendations against COM. So maybe it's not the best choice and I'm just too old-school. Can you advise on an alternative?

  • Problems with LWUIT in J2ME on Nokia E72

    - by Andre Mariano
    Well, I'm developing a app in my cellphone that is going to connect to my PC, the problem is that everytime that I return a URLRequest to the cellphone, it shows the previous Form on the screen and not de actual one, for example this is what goes in my actionListener: public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent ae) { if (ae.getCommand() == guiaUtil.cSelecionar()) { LoginRemote loginRemote = new LoginRemote(); try { //This is the request, returns true or false, does not affect the form loginRemote.login(tLogin.getText(), tPassword.getText()); } catch (Exception e) { GuiaUtil.error(e); return; } guiaUtil.mainApp().startMenu(); } } Then in the "guiaUtil.mainApp().startMenu()" I have this public void startMenu() { if (itemsMenu == null) { itemsMenu = new List(); itemsMenu.setWidth(320); itemsMenu.addItem("Sincronize Spots"); itemsMenu.addItem("Find Spots"); itemsMenu.addItem("Work"); itemsMenu.setFocus(true); this.addComponent(itemsMenu); this.addCommandListener(this); this.addCommand(guiaUtil.cSelect()); Form form = new Form(); form.addComponent(itemsMenu); } form.show(); } Anyway, after the request returns, it shows my Login form again, instead of showing the Menu List

  • Using a Context Menu to delete from a SQLite database in Android

    - by LordSnoutimus
    Hi, I have created a list view that displays the names and dates of items stored in a SQLite database, now I want to use a Context Menu to modify these items stored in the database such as edit the name, delete, and view. This is the code for the list view: public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.listview); SQLiteDatabase myDB = null; myDB = this.openOrCreateDatabase(MY_DB_NAME, MODE_PRIVATE, null); Cursor cur = myDB.rawQuery("SELECT _id, trackname, tracktime" + " FROM " + MY_DB_TABLE, null); ListAdapter adapter = new SimpleCursorAdapter(this, R.layout.listview, cur, new String[] { Constants.TRACK_NAME, Constants.TRACK_TIME}, new int[] { R.id.text1, R.id.text2}); ListView list = (ListView)findViewById(R.id.list); list.setAdapter(adapter); registerForContextMenu(list); } and the Context Menu... public void onCreateContextMenu(ContextMenu menu, View v, ContextMenuInfo menuInfo) { super.onCreateContextMenu(menu, v, menuInfo); menu.setHeaderTitle("Track Options"); menu.add(0, CHANGE_NAME, 0, "Change name"); menu.add(0, VIEW_TRACK, 0, "View track"); menu.add(0, SEND_TRACK, 0, "Send track"); menu.add(0, DELETE_TRACK, 0, "Delete track"); } I have used a Switch statement to control the menu items.. public boolean onContextItemSelected(MenuItem item) { switch (item.getItemId()){ case CHANGE_NAME: changename(); return true; case DELETE_TRACK: deletetrack(); return true; default: return super.onContextItemSelected(item); } So how would I go ahead and map the deletetrack(); method to find the ID of the track stored in the database to the item that has been selected in the list view?

  • Android map performance with > 800 overlays of KML data

    - by span
    I have some a shape file which I have converted to a KML file that I wish to read coordinates from and then draw paths between the coordinates on a MapView. With the help of this great post: How to draw a path on a map using kml file? I have been able to read the the KML into an ArrayList of "Placemarks". This great blog post then showed how to take a list of GeoPoints and draw a path: http://djsolid.net/blog/android---draw-a-path-array-of-points-in-mapview The example in the above post only draws one path between some points however and since I have many more paths than that I am running into some performance problems. I'm currently adding a new RouteOverlay for each of the separate paths. This results in me having over 800 overlays when they have all been added. This has a performance hit and I would love some input on what I can do to improve it. Here are some options I have considered: Try to add all the points to a List which then can be passed into a class that will extend Overlay. In that new class perhaps it would be possible to add and draw the paths in a single Overlay layer? I'm not sure on how to implement this though since the paths are not always intersecting and they have different start and end points. At the moment I'm adding each path which has several points to it's own list and then I add that to an Overlay. That results in over 700 overlays... Simplify the KML or SHP. Instead of having over 700 different paths, perhaps there is someway to merge them into perhaps 100 paths or less? Since alot of paths are intersected at some point it should be possible to modify the original SHP file so that it merges all intersections. Since I have never worked with these kinds of files before I have not been able to find a way to do this in GQIS. If someone knows how to do this I would love for some input on that. Here is a link to the group of shape files if you are interested: http://danielkvist.net/cprg_bef_cbana_polyline.shp http://danielkvist.net/cprg_bef_cbana_polyline.shx http://danielkvist.net/cprg_bef_cbana_polyline.dbf http://danielkvist.net/cprg_bef_cbana_polyline.prj Anyway, here is the code I'm using to add the Overlays. I got the following results The number of samples is around 44,100 on Simulator The number of samples is around 22,000 on iPhone The number of samples is around 4,000 on iPhone using Jawbone Bluetooth I am new on this. Why did itproduce different number of samples? Thanks in advance for your help.

  • MVVM: where is the best place to integrate an id counter, in ViewModel or Repository or... ?

    - by msfanboy
    Hello, I am using http://loungerepo.codeplex.com/ this library needs a unique id when I persist my entities to the repository. I decided for integer not Guid. The question is now where do I retrieve a new integer and how do I do it? This is my current approach in the SchoolclassAdministrationViewModel.cs: public SchoolclassAdministrationViewModel() { _schoolclassRepo = new SchoolclassRepository(); _pupilRepo = new PupilRepository(); _subjectRepo = new SubjectRepository(); _currentSchoolclass = new SchoolclassModel(); _currentPupil = new PupilModel(); _currentSubject = new SubjectModel(); ... } private void AddSchoolclass() { // get the last free id for a schoolclass entity _currentSchoolclass.SchoolclassID = _schoolclassRepo.LastID; // add the new schoolclass entity to the repository _schoolclassRepo.Add(SchoolclassModel.SchoolclassModelToSchoolclass(_currentSchoolclass)); // add the new schoolclass entity to the ObservableCollection bound to the View Schoolclasses.Add(_currentSchoolclass); // Create a new schoolclass entity and the bound UI controls content gets cleaned CurrentSchoolclass = new SchoolclassModel(); } public class SchoolclassRepository : IRepository<Schoolclass> { private int _lastID; public SchoolclassRepository() { _lastID = FetchLastId(); } public void Add(Schoolclass entity) { //repo.Store(entity); } private int FetchLastId() { return // repo.GetIDOfLastEntryAndDoInc++ } public int LastID { get { return _lastID; } } } Explanation: Every time the user switches to the SchoolclassAdministrationViewModel which is datatemplated with a UserControl the saVM Ctor is called and the schoolclass repository is created wherein the FetchLastId() is called and I am up to date with the last ID doing a inc++ on it to get the free one... Do you have any better ideas? What I do not like about my current apporach: -Having a private method in repositry class because a repositry is to fetch data only not "entity logic" like the counter - Having to access from the ViewModel a public property - located in the repository -, actually its not the ViewModel concern to get a entity id and assign it. Actually the ViewModel should ask for a schoolclass POCO and get a SchoolclassModel to bind to the UI. But then I have again to re-read the Schoolclass properties into the SchoolclassModel properties what I want to avoid.

  • Resize issue to fit dynamically with any browser size

    - by Qpixo
    I'm trying to make full flash site dynamically resize in any browser size. If the browser gets smaller than the site MC should constrain to fit in the browser. (EX: 1440x900) What I have right now works like 98% of the time, but when I switch to a bigger screen size, it screws up and makes the site tiny from left to right (menu, logo, etc.) (Ex:1680x1050) Does anyone know how to fix that issue?? positionScenesOnStage(); stage.align = StageAlign.TOP_LEFT; stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.NO_SCALE; stage.addEventListener(Event.RESIZE, handleObjectsOnStage); private function handleObjectsOnStage(event:Event):void { positionScenesOnStage(); } private function positionScenesOnStage():void { backgroundMC = new bgMC(); backgroundMC.x = 0; backgroundMC.y = 0; backgroundMC.width = stage.stageWidth; backgroundMC.height = stage.stageHeight; addChild(backgroundMC); logo_mc = new LogoMC(); logo_mc.x = stage.stageWidth - 1420; logo_mc.y = stage.stageHeight - 700; addChild(logo_mc); menuContainer = new MenuContainerMC(); menuContainer.x = stage.stageWidth - 400; menuContainer.y = stage.stageHeight - 680; addChild(menuContainer); }

  • Java: jaxb Generircs

    - by Mac
    How can I get jaxb to bind to my Vector? I cannot seem to get it to bind a Vector that contains generics as it complains that it cannot recognize my class "shape" or any of its subtypes.. • Class Assignment Operators

    - by Maxpm
    I made the following operator overloading test: #include <iostream> #include <string> using namespace std; class TestClass { string ClassName; public: TestClass(string Name) { ClassName = Name; cout << ClassName << " constructed." << endl; } ~TestClass() { cout << ClassName << " destructed." << endl; } void operator=(TestClass Other) { cout << ClassName << " in operator=" << endl; cout << "The address of the other class is " << &Other << "." << endl; } }; int main() { TestClass FirstInstance("FirstInstance"); TestClass SecondInstance("SecondInstance"); FirstInstance = SecondInstance; SecondInstance = FirstInstance; return 0; } The assignment operator behaves as-expected, outputting the address of the other class. Now, how would I actually assign something from the other class? For example, something like this: void operator=(TestClass Other) { ClassName = Other.ClassName; }

  • Could DataGridView be this dumb? or its me?lol

    - by Selase
    Am trying to bind data to a dropdown list on pageload based on a condition. Code explains further below. public partial class AddExhibit : System.Web.UI.Page { string adminID, caseIDRetrieved; DataSet caseDataSet = new DataSet(); SqlDataAdapter caseSqlDataAdapter = new SqlDataAdapter(); string strConn = WebConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["CMSSQL3ConnectionString1"].ConnectionString; protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { adminID = Request.QueryString["adminID"]; caseIDRetrieved = Request.QueryString["caseID"]; if (caseIDRetrieved != null) { CaseIDDropDownList.Text = caseIDRetrieved; //CaseIDDropDownList.Enabled = false; } else { try { CreateDataSet(); DataView caseDataView = new DataView(caseDataSet.Tables[0]); CaseIDDropDownList.DataSource = caseDataView; CaseIDDropDownList.DataBind(); } catch (Exception ex) { string script = "<script>alert('" + ex.Message + "');</script>"; } } } The CreateDataset method that is called in the if..else statement is contains the following code. private void CreateDataSet() { SqlConnection caseConnection = new SqlConnection(strConn); caseSqlDataAdapter.SelectCommand = new SqlCommand("Select CaseID FROM Cases", caseConnection); caseSqlDataAdapter.Fill(caseDataSet); } However when i load the page and as usual the condition that is supposed to bid the data is met, the gridview decides to displays as follows... IS IT ME OR ITS THE DATAGRID?...??

  • iOS - Rotating view reveals background.

    - by Jack
    Hi, I have created a view that I want to be able to rotate. The two views are: containerView and this has a .backgroundColor of red and BackgroundImage as a subview. Here is my code for rotating: - (void) willRotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)toInterfaceOrientation duration:(NSTimeInterval)duration { [self adjustViewsForOrientation:toInterfaceOrientation]; } - (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)interfaceOrientation { return YES; } - (void) adjustViewsForOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)orientation { if (orientation == UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeLeft || orientation == UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeRight) { backgroundImage.image = [UIImage imageNamed:@"landscape.jpg"]; backgroundImage.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 1024, 704); containerView.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 1024, 704); self.title = @"landscape"; } else if (orientation == UIInterfaceOrientationPortrait || orientation == UIInterfaceOrientationPortraitUpsideDown) { backgroundImage.image = [UIImage imageNamed:@"portrait.jpg"]; backgroundImage.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 768, 960); containerView.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 768, 960); self.title = @"portrait"; } } The problem is that the image rotates, but the background color is shown whilst the view rotates. Is there a nice solution to this problem (I know that I could create the images to blend into a color and set the background to the same color, but this is not what I would like). A Video of the problem can be seen here:http://tinypic.com/r/2quj24g/6 PS the images are from the OmniGroup GitHub repo and are just used for the demo.

  • Two Problems I'm having with UIButton and UIView.

    - by Andy
    Hi all, I haven't been programming on the iPhone for very long, but I'm picking it up slowly by googling problems I get. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find an answer for these. I have started a new View-based application in Xcode 3.2.2 and immediately added the following files: myUIView.m and myUIView.h, which are subclasses of UIView. In Interface Builder, I set the subclass of the default UIView to be myUIView. I made a button in the drawRect method. Problem one: The title of the button only appears AFTER I click the screen, why? Problem two: I want the button to produce the modalview - is this possible? The code is as follow: #import "myUIView.h" @implementation myUIView - (void)drawRect:(CGRect)rect { // Drawing code button = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeRoundedRect]; button.frame = CGRectMake(0,0,100,100); [button setTitle:@"butty" forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [button addTarget:self action:@selector(buttonPressed:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside]; [self addSubview:button]; } -(void)buttonPressed:(id)sender{ NSLog(@"Button pressed"); //present modal view somehow..? } I can't see how to post attachments, but if anyone thinks it will help I can upload the source. Many thanks, Andy
