  • Manually Dispatching a DocumentEvent for testing UI element validation code

    Hi. I'm testing a Swing GUI application using the UISpec4J testing framework. I'm testing validation code on a JTextField, but the framework does not support focus-change events, as it runs the application in a headless fashion. The text field has a DocumentEvent attached to it that activates the validation code. I'm trying to figure out how to dispatch the document event manually to activate the validation code. Trying to dispatch focus or mouse events manually haven't been working for me. Thanks for any help!

    I am building a web application that is dependent upon several third-party libraries. What is a good strategy for making sure that you're always using the most fully patched versions? A simple method would be to keep the versions written down and visit the websites at regular intervals, but I am looking for some way to get the information 'pushed' to me if possible. I figured that there might be others out there who have needed to do the same thing and have worked out a good solution.     Hi, I want to able programmatically parse and edit C++ source files. I need to be able to change/add code in certain sections of code (i.e. in functions, class blocks, etc). I would also (preferably) be able to get comments as well.     So, here is a piece of code using CodeModel that generates java code: JCodeModel cm = new JCodeModel(); JDefinedClass dc = cm._class("foo.Bar"); JMethod m = dc.method(0, int.class, "foo"); m.body()._return(JExpr.lit(5)); File f = new File("C:/target/classes"); f.mkdirs(); cm.build(f); This code generates a .java file: package foo; public class Bar { int foo() { return 5; } } However, I DO NOT want CodeModel to create a new java file for me. I do have a .java file already and would like to add a few lines of code to a method inside it. So, I would like the API to modify the java file directly/ create a modified copy of it. Is there a way to doing this?

I mean, that code that you can print and sit under a tree with a glass of wine and enjoy reading. If you can, also specify if the software is great to look at because its documentation, design, UML diagrams or just plain code. I believe UML is not very common within open-source projects. Is there such a thing as a project branch that polishes code and design with the sole objective to give other programmers a great example of great software?

  • Setting a ListView Divider in code

    One of my ListView's needs to be created in code. When I specify a ListView in xml, I can set a dividerHeight and assign a color to the divider. But apparently, in code a color is not acceptable nor is pointing to a resource id. Only a Drawable is acceptable - and I haven't gotten to that chapter yet. Can someone point me to an example of setting a ListView divider in code?

    Hello, I would ideally like to be able to add (very repetitive) C/C++ code to my actual code, but at compile time, code which would come from say, the stdout of a python script, the same way one does with macros. For example, let's say I want to have functions that depend on the public attributes of a given class, being able to just write the following in my C++ code would be a blessing: generate_boring_functions(FooBarClass,"FooBarClass.cpp") Is that feasible using conventional means? Or must I hack with Makefiles and temporary source files? Thanks.

The idea consists in letting two or more functions share the same location in memory. A region of memory (which we will call a template) is set up containing some of the machine code bytes from the functions, more specifically, the ones they all have in common. Before a particular function is executed, an edit script is used to patch the template with the necessary machine code bytes to create a complete version of that function. When another function assigned to the same template is about to be executed, the process repeats, this time with a different edit script. To illustrate this, suppose you want to obfuscate a program that contains two functions f1 and f2.     I have simple Haxe app like class Main { public static function main() { trace("hello world"); } } I know how to compile such app for windows (not as SWF but as app from pure C\C++ )(and you can see how here but be worned thay use hxcpp\0,4 ) The problem is - I do not want to compile app for Windows Vista or 7 or XP I want to get PURE C\C++ code (better in one place as one project) for for example compiling that code on windows mobile or where ever I want to. So is there any algorithm for turning simple HAXE code into C/C++ code files?

  • Are there any context-sensitive code search tools?

    I have been getting very frustrated recently in dealing with a massive bulk of legacy code which I am trying to get familiar with. Say I try to search for a particular function call, I get loads of results that turn out to be completely irrelevant; some of them are easy to spot, eg a comment saying // Fixed functionality in foo() so don't need to handle this here any more But others are much harder to spot manually, because they turn out to be calls from other functions in modules that are only compiled in certain cases, or are part of a much larger block of code that is #if 0'd out in its entirety. What I'd like would be a search tool that would allow me to search for a term and give me the choice to include or exclude commented out or #if 0'd out code. Then the search results would be displayed alongside a list of #defines that are required in order for that snippet of code to be relevant. I'm working in C / C++, but other than the specific comment syntax I guess the techniques should be more generally applicable. Does such a tool exist?

  • Calling C# code from Java?

    Does anyone have a good solution for integrating some C# code into a java application? The code is small, so I could re-write in java, but I would rather reuse the code if possible. Don't repeat yourself, etc. Also, I know I can expose the C# as a web service or whatever, but it has some security/encryption stuff in there, so I would rather keep it tightly integrated if possible. Edit: It's going to be on a server-based app, so "downloading" another runtime is irrelevant.

The "checking what kind of user if any is logged in" piece is starting to get very hairy and it obviously needs to be well-written because its run so often so I was wondering how you guys would re-factor this stuff.
