  • Defining and using controller methods in ember.js

    - by OriginalEXE
first of all, I am total noob when it comes to OOP in JS, this is new to me so treat me like a noob. I am building my first ember.js application and I am stuck (not the first time but I would get unstuck by myself, this is a tough one though). I have two models: forms entries Entries is of course in (one to many) relationship to forms, so each form can have as many properties. Form properties: id : DS.attr( 'number' ), title : DS.attr( 'string' ), views : DS.attr( 'number' ), conversion : DS.attr( 'number' ), entries : DS.hasMany( 'entry' ) Entry properties: id : DS.attr( 'number' ), parent_id: DS.belongsTo( 'form' ) Now, I have forms route that displays all forms in tabled view, and each table row has some info like form id, name etc. and that works great. What I wanted to do is display the number of entries each form has. I figured I should do that via controller, so here is my controller now: // Form controller App.FormController = Ember.ObjectController.extend({ entriescount: function() { var entries = this.get( 'store').find( 'entry' ); return entries.filterBy( 'parent_id', this.get( 'id' ) ).get( 'length' ); }.property( '[email protected]_id') }); Now for some reason, when I use {{entriescount}} in {{#each}} loop, this returns nothing. It also returns nothing in single form route. Note that in both cases, {{title}} for example works. I am wondering, am I going the right way by using controller for this, and how do I get controller to output the data. Thanks

  • csv file upload and update mysql db

    - by Indra
    I am very to new to php. i am using the following code to open a csv file and update my database. i need to check the value of first row-first column of the csv file. if it is matching "some text 1", then i need to run code1, if it is "some text 2", run code2, else code3. I can use if else condition but since i am using while loop It fails. Can anyone help me. $handle = fopen($file_tmp,"r"); while(($fileop = fgetcsv($handle,",")) !== false) { // I need to check here $companycode = mysql_real_escape_string($fileop[0]); $Item = mysql_real_escape_string($fileop[3]); $pack = preg_replace('/[^A-Za-z0-9\. -]/', '', $fileop[4]); $lastmonth = mysql_real_escape_string($fileop[5]); $ltlmonth = mysql_real_escape_string($fileop[6]); $op = mysql_real_escape_string($fileop[9]); $pur = mysql_real_escape_string($fileop[10]); $sale = mysql_real_escape_string($fileop[12]); $bal = mysql_real_escape_string($fileop[17]); $bval = mysql_real_escape_string($fileop[18]); $sval = mysql_real_escape_string($fileop[19]); $sq1 = mysql_query("INSERT INTO `sas` (companycode,Item,pack,lastmonth,ltlmonth,op,pur,sale,bal,bval,sval) VALUES ('$companycode','$Item','$pack','$lastmonth','$ltlmonth','$op','$pur','$sale','$bal','$bval','$sval')"); }

  • parsing python to csv

    - by user185955
I'm trying to download some game stats to do some analysis, only problem is each season the data their isn't 100% consistent. I grab the json file from the site, then wish to save it to a csv with the first line in the csv containing the heading for that column, so the heading would be essentially the key from the python data type. #!/usr/bin/env python import requests import json import csv base_url = 'http://www.afl.com.au/api/cfs/afl/' token_url = base_url + 'WMCTok' player_url = base_url + 'matchItems/round' def printPretty(data): print(json.dumps(data, sort_keys=True, indent=2, separators=(',', ': '))) session = requests.Session() # session makes it simple to use the token across the requests token = session.post(token_url).json()['token'] # get the token session.headers.update({'X-media-mis-token': token}) # set the token Season = 2014 Roundno = 4 if Roundno<10: strRoundno = '0'+str(Roundno) else: strRoundno = str(Roundno) # get some data (could easily be a for loop, might want to put in a delay using Sleep so that you don't get IP blocked) data = session.get(player_url + '/CD_R'+str(Season)+'014'+strRoundno) # print everything printPretty(data.json()) with open('stats_game_test.csv', 'w', newline='') as csvfile: spamwriter = csv.writer(csvfile, delimiter="'",quotechar='|', quoting=csv.QUOTE_ALL) for profile in data.json()['items']: spamwriter.writerow(['%s' %(profile)]) #for key in data.json().keys(): # print("key: %s , value: %s" % (key, data.json()[key])) The above code grabs the json and writes it to a csv, but it puts the key in each individual cell next to the value (eg 'venueId': 'CD_V190'), the key needs to be just across the first row as a heading. It gives me a csv file with data in the cells like this Column A B 'tempInCelsius': 17.0 'totalScore': 32 'tempInCelsius': 16.0 'totalScore': 28 What I want is the data like this tempInCelsius totalScore 17 32 16 28 As I mentioned up the top, the data isn't always consistent so if I define what fields to grab with spamwriter.writerow([profile['tempInCelsius'], profile['totalScore']]) then it will error out on certain data grabs. This is why I'm now trying the above method so it just grabs everything regardless of what data is there.

  • Problem with thumbnails after newly added - PHP on-the-fly method

    - by Wayne
Hey again... to those that may have read my previous question that got solved a couple minutes ago .< The on-the-fly php script works perfectly, but when I went to upload new images into a gallery which I made myself, the images are resized to 150 x 150 for what I wanted... however, when it comes to new images being added it is all black... As you can see the three black images that were uploaded to the folder and the directory added to the database. What is causing this? If I view the source, the code is fine... the while loop in the PHP generates an output like this: <div class="view-wrap" id="photo-10"> <div class="view-icon"> <div class="img-label"> <a href="#" id="10" class="delete"><img src="img/small-delete.png" /> Delete</a> </div> <a href="img/events/Paintballing/24251_1395408043148_1170626626_1204038_5382765_n.jpg"> <img src="image.php?dir=img/events/Paintballing/24251_1395408043148_1170626626_1204038_5382765_n.jpg" alt="" width="110" height="110" /> </a> </div> </div> An example of one block. If I view the source (in Firefox) and click on the image.php?dir=img/events/Paintballing/24251_1395408043148_1170626626_1204038_5382765_n.jpg by exmaple, I can see the thumbnail at it's 150 x 150 size but in the layout, it shows a black thumbnail... Does anyone know why this is happening?

  • jQuery Ajax loads URL multiple times, how do I unbind/rebind properly?

    - by gmoz22
I load a SELECT element via Ajax (list of brands), get its selected value (brand id) and load another SELECT via another Ajax URL (list of templates for currently selected brand). Here's my code: $(document).ready( function() { // DO NOT cache Ajax calls $.ajaxSetup ({ cache: false }); // loader var ajax_load = "Loading..."; // Brands List URL var loadBrandUrl = "getBrandsList.php"; // Templates List URL var loadTemplateUrl = "getTemplatesList.php"; $("#brandslistSelect").html(ajax_load).load(loadBrandUrl) .ajaxComplete(function(){ // Brands select loaded /* Load Templates SELECT the first time since no .change() has happened */ var selectedBrand = $("#brandslistSelect option:selected").attr("value"); // get the value console.log(selectedBrand); // Log selected brand to console // get Templates select, commented for now since it does an infinite loop // $("#templateslistSelect").html(ajax_load).load(loadTemplateUrl, { BrandId: selectedBrand } ); /* End initial load template */ /* On interaction with the Brands SELECT */ $("#brandslistSelect").change(function () { // on interaction with select selectedBrand = $("#brandslistSelect option:selected").attr("value"); // get the value // get Templates SELECT $("#templateslistSelect").html(ajax_load).load(loadTemplateUrl, { BrandId: selectedBrand } ) }); /* End interaction with the Brands SELECT */ }); }); It returns selectedBrand in the console 3 times : selectedBrand = undefined selectedBrand = undefined selectedBrand = 101 Now, if I uncomment the following line, same output as above but it also loads the templates URL indefinitely : // $("#templateslistSelect").html(ajax_load).load(loadTemplateUrl, { BrandId: selectedBrand } ); Any idea how I could modify this code to make it work as intended? Thanks for your help stackOverflow community!

  • Why does this log output show the same answer in each iteration?

    - by Will Hancock
    OK, I was reading an article on optimising JS for Googles V8 engine, when i saw this code example... I nearly skimmed over it, but then I saw this; |=; a[0] |= b; a = new Array(); a[0] = 0; for (var b = 0; b < 10; b++) { console.log(a, b) a[0] |= b; // Much better! 2x faster. } a[0] |= b; So I ran it, in my console, with a console.log in the loop and resulted in 15; [15] 0 [15] 1 [15] 2 [15] 3 [15] 4 [15] 5 [15] 6 [15] 7 [15] 8 [15] 9 WHAT?!?! Where the hell does it get 15 from, on every iteration?!?!?! I've been a web dev for 7 years, and this has stumped me and a fellow colleague. Can somebody talk me through this code? Cheers.

  • SQL Server job (stored proc) trace

    - by Jit
Hi Friends, I need your suggestion on tracing the issue. We are running data load jobs at early morning and loading the data from Excel file into SQL Server 2005 db. When job runs on production server, many times it takes 2 to 3 hours to complete the tasks. We could drill down to one job step which is taking 99% of the total time to finish. While running the job step (stored procs) on staging environment (with the same production database restored) takes 9 to 10 minutes, the same takes hours on production server when it run at early morning as part of job. The production server always stuck up at the very job step. I would like to run trace on the very job step (around 10 stored procs run for each user in while loop within the job step) and collect the info to figure out the issue. What are the ways available in SQL Server 2005 to achieve the same? I want to run the trace only for these SPs and not for certain period time period on production server, as trace give lots of information and it becomes very difficult for me (as not being DBA) to analyze that much of trace information and figure out the issue. So I want to collect info about specific SPs only. Let me know what you suggest. Appreciate your time and help. Thanks.

  • Java - problems iterating through an ArrayList

    - by cc0
Ok so I have an ArrayList (arrBok), which is full of book objects (the code is in Norwegian, so pay no attention to that please). I want to make a public method which iterates through all the objects in the arraylist. When I execute the code, it just seems to run in an infinite loop, not producing any return values. Here is the relevant (I hope, because there are a couple of other classes involved) part of the code; public String listAll() { itr = arrBok.iterator(); while (itr.hasNext()) { i++; } return "lol"; } This code does nothing useful, but I just want to see if it can iterate through it successfully. What I have tried so far; Tested if the bokArr (arraylist) is empty, which it's not. It has 4 objects inside of it. Return the toString() method of the itr, with the following result; java.util.AbstractList$Itr@173a10f // <-- not sure if this would be relevant to anything return itr.next().toString(); <-- // which seems to return the first object in the array, does that make sense?

  • Django Aggregation Across Reverse Relationship

    - by Tom
Given these two models: class Profile(models.Model): user = models.ForeignKey(User, unique=True, verbose_name=_('user')) about = models.TextField(_('about'), blank=True) zip = models.CharField(max_length=10, verbose_name='zip code', blank=True) website = models.URLField(_('website'), blank=True, verify_exists=False) class ProfileView(models.Model): profile = models.ForeignKey(Profile) viewer = models.ForeignKey(User, blank=True, null=True) created = models.DateTimeField(auto_now_add=True) I want to get all profiles sorted by total views. I can get a list of profile ids sorted by total views with: ProfileView.objects.values('profile').annotate(Count('profile')).order_by('-profile__count') But that's just a dictionary of profile ids, which means I then have to loop over it and put together a list of profile objects. Which is a number of additional queries and still doesn't result in a QuerySet. At that point, I might as well drop to raw SQL. Before I do, is there a way to do this from the Profile model? ProfileViews are related via a ForeignKey field, but it's not as though the Profile model knows that, so I'm not sure how to tie the two together. As an aside, I realize I could just store views as a property on the Profile model and that may turn out to be what I do here, but I'm still interested in learning how to better use the Aggregation functions.

  • Mapping individual buttons on ASP.NET MVC View to controller actions

    - by skb
I have an application where I need the user to be able to update or delete rows of data from the database. The rows are displayed to the user using a foreach loop in the .aspx file of my view. Each row will have two text fields (txtName, txtDesc), an update button, and a delete button. What I'm not sure of, is how do I have the update button send the message to the controller for which row to update? I can see a couple way of doing this: Put each row within it's own form tag, then when the update button is clicked, it will submit the values for that row only (there will also be a hidden field with the rowId) and the controller class would take all the post values as parameters to the Update method on the controller. Somehow, have the button be scripted in a way to send back only the values for that row with a POST to the controller. Is there a way of doing this? One thing I am concerned about is if each row has different names for it's controls assigned by ASP.NET (txtName1, txtDesc1, txtName2, txtDesc2), then how will their values get mapped to the correct parameters of the Controller method?

  • Adding up fractions in PHP

    - by Gamemorize
I would like to create a loop that keeps adding a set fraction, here in my example 1/3, and which later I can check against for matches with integer values. Obviously when php adds 1/3 + 1/3 + 1/3 the result is 0.9999999, so i thought I could use the occasional round to help me, but this isn't working either. The idea that I had would be that .333 + .333 becomes .666 and that if rounded that would become .667, then + .333 and the result is 1. However round only seems to work, for me, if the number of digits actually decreases. so round (0.666, 3) remains 0.666 <?php $denom = 3; $frac = 1/$denom; $frac = round($frac,3); $value = 0; $max =24; for($f = 1; $f <= $max; $f++){ echo "old value is now at ".$value.".<br/>"; $value = $value+$frac; echo "value is now at ".$value.".<br/>"; $value = round($value,3); echo "rounded value is now at ".$value.".<br/>"; $valueArray[$f] = $value; //and here for ease of testing.... if (($value==1)OR ($value==2)OR ($value==3)OR ($value==4)OR ($value==5)OR ($value==6)OR ($value==7)OR ($value==8)){ echo "match!<br/>"; }else{ echo "no match!<br/>"; } } ?> Am I going about this in a totally stupid way? Accuracy when the value is not an integer is not needed, just that it can == with integers.

  • JQuery DataTables link item

    - by rogcg
I'm trying to link the items from a specific column, but each one will be linked for a different id from the json string. Unfortunately I can't find a way to do this using the API (I know there is a lot of ways to do that without using the API ), but I'm looking for a way to link a item from a column (each one with a link for a specific id). So here is my code, I use getJSON to get the JSON from the server, and I load the data from this JSON to the table like this: $.getJSON("/method/from/server/", function(data) { var total = 0; $("#table_body").empty(); var oTable = $('#mytable').dataTable( { "sPaginationType" : "full_numbers", "aaSorting": [[ 0, "asc" ]] }); oTable.fnClearTable(); $.each(data, function(i, item) { oTable.fnAddData( [ item.contact_name, item.contact_email ] ); }); }); What I want to do, is for each row, link the contact_name to its id, which is also in the JSON, and can be accessed inside this $.each loop by using item.contact_id. Is there a way to do this using DataTables API, if yes, could you explain me and provide a good resource that will help me with this? Thanks.

  • Is there a better way to write named-pipes in F#?

    - by Niran
Hi I am new to F#. I am trying to communicate with java from F# using named pipe. • How to filter node list based on the contents of another node list

    - by ~otakuj462
Hi, I'd like to use XSLT to filter a node list based on the contents of another node list. Specifically, I'd like to filter a node list such that elements with identical id attributes are eliminated from the resulting node list. Priority should be given to one of the two node lists. The way I originally imagined implementing this was to do something like this: <xsl:variable name="filteredList1" select="$list1[not($list2[@id_from_list1 = @id_from_list2])]"/> The problem is that the context node changes in the predicate for $list2, so I don't have access to attribute @id_from_list1. Due to these scoping constraints, it's not clear to me how I would be able to refer to an attribute from the outer node list using nested predicates in this fashion. To get around the issue of the context node, I've tried to create a solution involving a for-each loop, like the following: <xsl:variable name="filteredList1"> <xsl:for-each select="$list1"> <xsl:variable name="id_from_list1" select="@id_from_list1"/> <xsl:if test="not($list2[@id_from_list2 = $id_from_list1])"> <xsl:copy-of select="."/> </xsl:if> </xsl:for-each> </xsl:variable> But this doesn't work correctly. It's also not clear to me how it fails... Using the above technique, filteredList1 has a length of 1, but appears to be empty. It's strange behaviour, and anyhow, I feel there must be a more elegant approach. I'd appreciate any guidance anyone can offer. Thanks.

  • Can a lambda can be used to change a List's values in-place ( without creating a new list)?

    - by Saint Hill
I am trying to determine the correct way of transforming all the values in a List using the new lambdas feature in the upcoming release of Java 8 without creating a **new** List. This pertains to times when a List is passed in by a caller and needs to have a function applied to change all the contents to a new value. For example, the way Collections.sort(list) changes a list in-place. What is the easiest way given this transforming function and this starting list: String function(String s){ return [some change made to value of s]; } List<String> list = Arrays.asList("Bob", "Steve", "Jim", "Arbby"); The usual way of applying a change to all the values in-place was this: for (int i = 0; i < list.size(); i++) { list.set(i, function( list.get(i) ); } Does lambdas and Java 8 offer: an easier and more expressive way? a way to do this without setting up all the scaffolding of the for(..) loop?

  • assigning selected="selected" to dynamic option list

    - by leemjac
In an "edit article" page i have a select list which displays author first and last name, as well as authorId as the value. As well as the article context and headline and so on (fetched with a different method) - though this method also holds the authorId of the specific article. I need to have the Author of the Article selected in the option list, instead of it defaulting to the first option in the select list. what i have: echo''; //loop through author names in option list $authors_name foreach($authors_name as $nameRow){ echo'<option class="authorId" value = "' . $nameRow['AuthorID'] . '">'. $nameRow['FirstName'].' '.$nameRow['LastName'] .''; } echo'</select>'; and the jquery: var currID = ('#selectAuthor').val(); if(('.authorId').val() == currID){ $('.authorId').addClass('new_class') $('.new_class').prop('selected',true); } OR var currID = ('#selectAuthor').val(); if($("select option[value=currID]").attr('selected','selected')); Any help would be greatly appreciated, I hope what I am trying to do is clear. Thanks in advance I have simplified it with just regular input and checked it in jsfiddle.net here is the HTML '; <option value = "2">Name val 2</option> <option value = "5">Name val 5</option> <option value = "1">Name val 1</option> and here is the jquery var currID = $('#selectAuthor').val(); if($("select option[value='+currID+']").prop('selected',true));? and even then it doesn't apply selected="selected" to option with value="1"

  • How to query the SPView object

    - by Hugo Migneron
I have a SPView object that contains a lot of SPListItem objects (there are many fields in the view). I am only interested in one of these fields. Let's call it specialField Given that view and specialField, I want to know if a value is contained in specialField. Here is a way of doing what I want to do : String specialField = "Special Field"; String specialValue = "value"; SPList list = SPContext.Current.Site.RootWeb.Lists["My List"]; SPView view = list.Views["My View"]; //This is the view I want to query SPQuery query = new SPQuery(); query.Query = view.Query; SPListItemCollection items = list.GetItems(query); foreach(SPListItem item in items) { var value = item[specialField]; if(value != null) && (value.ToString() == specialValue) { //My value is found. This is what I was looking for. //break out of the loop or return } } //My value is not found. However, iterating through each ListItem hardly seems optimal, especially as there might be hundreds of items. This query will be executed often, so I am looking for an efficient way to do this. EDIT I will not always be working with the same view, so my solution cannot be hardcoded (it has to be generic enough that the list, view and specialField can be changed.

  • summing functions handles in matlab

    - by user552231
Hi I am trying to sum two function handles, but it doesn't work. for example: y1=@(x)(x*x); y2=@(x)(x*x+3*x); y3=y1+y2 The error I receive is "??? Undefined function or method 'plus' for input arguments of type 'function_handle'." This is just a small example, in reality I actually need to iteratively sum about 500 functions that are dependent on each other. EDIT The solution by Clement J. indeed works but I couldn't manage to generalize this into a loop and ran into a problem. I have the function s=@(x,y,z)((1-exp(-x*y)-z)*exp(-x*y)); And I have a vector v that contains 536 data points and another vector w that also contains 536 data points. My goal is to sum up s(v(i),y,w(i)) for i=1...536 Thus getting one function in the variable y which is the sum of 536 functions. The syntax I tried in order to do this is: sum=@(y)(s(v(1),y,z2(1))); for i=2:536 sum=@(y)(sum+s(v(i),y,z2(i))) end

Hi all, I'm doing some simple Python + FB Graph training on my own, and I faced a weird problem: import time import sys import urllib2 import urllib from json import loads base_url = "https://graph.facebook.com/search?q=" post_id = None post_type = None user_id = None message = None created_time = None def doit(hour): page = 1 search_term = "\"Plastic Planet\"" encoded_search_term = urllib.quote(search_term) print encoded_search_term type="&type=post" url = "%s%s%s" % (base_url,encoded_search_term,type) print url while(1): try: response = urllib2.urlopen(url) except urllib2.HTTPError, e: print e finally: pass content = response.read() content = loads(content) print "==================================" for c in content["data"]: print c print "****************************************" try: content["paging"] print "current URL" print url print "next page!------------" url = content["paging"]["next"] print url except: pass finally: pass """ print "new URL is =======================" print url print "==================================" """ print url What I'm trying to do here is to automatically page through the search results, but trying for content["paging"]["next"] But the weird thing is that no data is returned; i received the following: {"data":[]} Even in the very first loop. But when i copied the URL into a browser, a lot of results were returned. I've also tried a version with my access token and th same thing happens. Can anyone enlighten me? +++++++++++++++++++EDITED and SIMPLIFIED++++++++++++++++++ ok thanks to TryPyPy, here's the simplified and edited version of my previous question: Why is that: import urllib2 url = "https://graph.facebook.com/searchq=%22Plastic+Planet%22&type=post&limit=25&until=2010-12-29T19%3A54%3A56%2B0000" response = urllib2.urlopen(url) print response.read() result in {"data":[]} ? But the same url produces a lot of data in a browser? Anyone? Best Regards.

  • Optimizing a "set in a string list" to a "set as a matrix" operation

    - by Eric Fournier
    I have a set of strings which contain space-separated elements. I want to build a matrix which will tell me which elements were part of which strings. For example: "" "A B C" "D" "B D" Should give something like: A B C D 1 2 1 1 1 3 1 4 1 1 Now I've got a solution, but it runs slow as molasse, and I've run out of ideas on how to make it faster: reverseIn <- function(vector, value) { return(value %in% vector) } buildCategoryMatrix <- function(valueVector) { allClasses <- c() for(classVec in unique(valueVector)) { allClasses <- unique(c(allClasses, strsplit(classVec, " ", fixed=TRUE)[[1]])) } resMatrix <- matrix(ncol=0, nrow=length(valueVector)) splitValues <- strsplit(valueVector, " ", fixed=TRUE) for(cat in allClasses) { if(cat=="") { catIsPart <- (valueVector == "") } else { catIsPart <- sapply(splitValues, reverseIn, cat) } resMatrix <- cbind(resMatrix, catIsPart) } colnames(resMatrix) <- allClasses return(resMatrix) } Profiling the function gives me this: $by.self self.time self.pct total.time total.pct "match" 31.20 34.74 31.24 34.79 "FUN" 30.26 33.70 74.30 82.74 "lapply" 13.56 15.10 87.86 97.84 "%in%" 12.92 14.39 44.10 49.11 So my actual questions would be: - Where are the 33% spent in "FUN" coming from? - Would there be any way to speed up the %in% call? I tried turning the strings into factors prior to going into the loop so that I'd be matching numbers instead of strings, but that actually makes R crash. I've also tried going for partial matrix assignment (IE, resMatrix[i,x] <- 1) where i is the number of the string and x is the vector of factors. No dice there either, as it seems to keep on running infinitely.

  • How can accomplish an if else statement from the underscore template to mustache

    - by user2942566
    I have an underscore template and I have to use Mustache to render it. Below is my underscore template: <div id="sub-account"> <p>something</p> <table> <tr><td>Name</td> </tr> <tbody> <% _.each(accountList, function(account) { %> <tr> <td><%= account.get('name') %></td> </tr> <% }) %> </tbody> </table> </div> Im using a mustache as my main view to render a list. I also added _.templateSettings = { evaluate : /\{\[([\s\S]+?)\]\}/g, interpolate : /\{\{([\s\S]+?)\}\}/g, escape : /<%-([\s\S]+?)%>/g, }; to my undersocre.js settings. How can i loop through the code to render as a mustache template. Any ideas???

  • C# + Querying XML with LINQ

    - by user336786
Hello, I'm learning to use LINQ. I have seen some videos online that have really impressed me. In an effort to learn LINQ myself, I decided to try to write a query to the NOAA web service. If you put "http://www.weather.gov/forecasts/xml/sample_products/browser_interface/ndfdBrowserClientByDay.php?zipCodeList=20001&format=24+hourly&startDate=2010-06-10&numDays=5" in your browser's address bar, you will see some XML. I have successfully retrieved that XML in a C# program. I am loading the XML into a LINQable entity by doing the following: string xml = QueryWeatherService(); XDocument weather = XDocument.Parse(xml); I have a class called DailyForecast defined as follows: public class DailyForecast { public float HighTemperature { get; set; } public float LowTemperature { get; set; } public float PrecipitationPossibility { get; set; } public string WeatherSummary { get; set; } } I'm trying write a LINQ query that adheres to the structure of my DailyForecast class. At this time, I've only gotten to this far: var results = from day in response.Descendants("parameters") select day; Not very far I know. Because of the structure of the XML returned, I'm not sure it is possible to solely use a LINQ query. I think the only way to do this is via a loop and traverse the XML. I'm seeking someone to correct me if I'm wrong. Can someone please tell me if I can get results using purely LINQ that adhere to the structure of the DailyForecast class? If so, how? Thank you!

  • How to get timestamp of tick precision in .NET / C#?

    - by Hermann
Up until now I used DateTime. Now for getting timestamps, but I noticed that if you print DateTime. Now in a loop you will see that it increments in descrete jumps of approx. 15 ms. But for certain scenarios in my application I need to get the most accurate timestamp possible, preferably with tick (=100 ns) precision. Any ideas? Update: Apparently, StopWatch / QueryPerformanceCounter is the way to go, but it can only be used to measure time, so I was thinking about calling DateTime. Now when the application starts up and then just have StopWatch run and then just add the elapsed time from StopWatch to the initial value returned from DateTime.Now. At least that should give me accurate relative timestamps, right? What do you think about that (hack)? NOTE: StopWatch.ElapsedTicks is different from StopWatch.Elapsed.Ticks! I used the former assuming 1 tick = 100 ns, but in this case 1 tick = 1 / StopWatch.Frequency. So to get ticks equivalent to DateTime use StopWatch.Elapsed.Ticks. I just learned this the hard way. NOTE 2: Using the StopWatch approach, I noticed it gets out of sync with the real time. After about 10 hours, it was ahead by 5 seconds. So I guess one would have to resync it every X or so where X could be 1 hour, 30 min, 15 min, etc. I am not sure what the optimal timespan for resyncing would be since every resync will change the offset which can be up to 20 ms.

  • How can I save an ASP.NET IFRAME from a custom entity's OnSave event, reliably?

    - by Forgotten Semicolon
I have a custom ASP.NET solution deployed to the ISV directory of an MS Dynamics CRM 4.0 application. We have created a custom entity, whose data entry requires more dynamism than is possible through the form builder within CRM. To accomplish this, we have created an ASP.NET form surfaced through an IFRAME on the entity's main form. Here is how the saving functionality is currently laid out: There is an ASP.NET button control on the page that saves the entity when clicked. This button is hidden by CSS. The button click event is triggered from the CRM OnSave javascript event. The event fires and the entity is saved. Here are the issues: When the app pool is recycled, the first save (or few) may: not save be delayed (ie. the interface doesn't show an update, until the page has been refreshed after a few sec) Save and Close/New may not save For issue 1.1 and 2, what seems to be happening is that while the save event is fired for the custom ASP.NET page, the browser has moved on/refreshed the page, invalidating the request to the server. This results in the save not actually completing. Right now, this is mitigated with a kludge javascript delay loop for a few seconds after calling the button save event, inside the entity OnSave event. Is there any way to have the OnSave event wait for a callback from the IFRAME?
