  • Spring Security - Interactive login attempt was unsuccessful

    I've been trying to track down why Spring Security isn't creating the SPRING_SECURITY_REMEMBER_ME_COOKIE so I turned on logging for org.springframework.security.web.authentication.rememberme. At first glance, the logs make it seem like the login is failing but the login is actually successful in the sense that if I navigate to a page that requires authentication I am not redirected back to the login page. However, the logs appear to be saying the login credentials are invalid. Any ideas as to what is going on?   • Detailed android activity lifecycle (onAttachedToWindow())

    I'm interested in android activity lifecycle and I would like to get more detailed description/documentation/reference than widely available basic (onCreate-onStart-onResume) one. My need comes from realizing that starting new activity (Theme.Dialog styled) from onAttachedToWindow() greatly improves response time if comparing to starting it from onCreate(). I wonder how this onAttachedToWindow() fits into whole android activity lifecycle. Official API ref description "Called when the window has been attached to the window manager" doesn't help a lot.

  • Can't Deploy or Upload Large SSRS 2008 Report from VS or IE

    So far in this project I have two reports in VS2008/BIDS. The first one contains 1 tablix and is about 100k. The second one contains 3 tablixes (tablices?) and is about 257k. I can successfully deploy the smaller report from VS and I can upload it from the Report Manager in IE. I can view/run it from Report Manager and I can get to the Report Server (web service) URL from my browser just fine. Everything is done over HTTPS and there is nothing wrong with the certificates. With the larger report, the error I get in VS is "The operation has timed out" after about 100 seconds. The error when I upload from IE is "The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a send" after about 130 seconds. In the RSReportServer.config file I tried changing Authentication/EnableAuthPersistence from true to false and restarting the service, but still get the error. I have the key "SecureConnectionLevel" set to 2. Changing this to 0 and turning off SSL is not going to be an option. I added a registry key named "MaxRequestBytes" to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\HTTP\Parameters and set it to 5242880 (5MB) and restarted the HTTP and SRS services as suggested in a forum post by Jin Chen of MSFT. I still cannot upload the larger report. This is on MS SQL 2008 and WS 2003.   • Virtual Disk Degraded

    There is a physical DC with a Raid 1 Mirror, 2 Physical Disks, 500GB each. Dell Server Administrator is installed on the DC, and is reporting both physical disks are fine, online, in a good state etc. On a PERC S300 Raid Controller: Physical Disk 0:0 Physical Disk 0:1 However at the same time it's reporting that a virtual disk is degraded, what exactly does this mean? The virtual disk indicates it's State is in a Raid 1 Layout. Device Name: Windows Disk 0 If my understanding is correct then the Virtual Disk, when you drill down into Dell OpenManage should have both physical disks as members, as it is a mirror? Is this correct? However, when I drill down into the Virtual Disk, it only displays Physical Disk 0:0 included in Virtual Disk 1. I'm very new to server side/raid management etc. just while our server techy is away! Thanks!

    In a Windows Server 2003 environment with a self hosted .Net 3.5/WCF application, how can an application report its status to a BigIP Local Traffic Manager? Example: One of my services errors. My custom WCF application hosting software (written because Windows Server 2008 is not yet available and I'm using WCF TCP bindings) detects this and wants to report itself as down until it can recover the errant service. It needs to report itself as down to the BigIP LTM so that it is no longer sent client originated requests.

  • Can I minimize VMWare Workstation from exclusive mode?

    I am running a VM on two monitors, in fullscreen exclusive mode. I would like to be able to minimize the VM and mess around in the Host, then go back to the VM. I can do this by pressing CTRL+ALT to get out of fullscreen mode, but this puts the VM back onto a single monitor, which moves all my VM's windows back to the main virtual screen. This is annoying, because when I come back to the VM, I have to go back to multiple monitor mode, and move windows back to where they should be. Is there a way to temporarily escape from fullscreen exclusive mode, without disturbing multi-monitor layout? I should note that I'm only using exclusive mode to get rid of the popup toolbar that otherwise appears when your mouse gets too close to the top of the screen. If there's another way to kill that, please let me know. My host and guest are both Windows 7 x64, and I'm running VMWare Workstation 8.

  • How to make sliding button sidebar in Flex

    Hi, I'm fairly new to Flex. I want to make a button (icon) on the far right in the middle of the page that display a sliding side bar with multiple buttons in it when you hover over it. I want when the user hover out of the button bar it slides back again. Conceptually I got the basics of that to work. The issue I'm having is that when the user moves the mouse between the buttons in the sidebar it kicks in changing state and side bar slides back again. I tried using different types of containers and I got the same results. Any Advice?   • DBMS debugger causes TOAD to hang

    I can start the dbms debugger in Toad and use it normally but if I hit the 'halt execution' button or just hit the 'Run' button to reach the end of the function it causes TOAD to hang. Windows reports it as not responding and I have to kill it through the task manager. I have had this problem in Toad 9.7.2.5 and Toad 10 on two different laptops. Has anyone else experienced this problem? If you have did you find a solution to this?

  • many partitions on a single filegroup?¿ does it make sense?

    Hi, I'm designing a datawarehouse solution and I'm a newbie in disk configuration issues, let me explain you. Our storage is spread over 6 storage enlosures having each of them 5 raid-1 disk arrays, and having 2 LUNS defined per each disk array, which makes a total 48 LUNS (this is following Microsoft fast track recommendations for datawarehouse architectures). I would like to partition my data, on other projects I have worked before, we always followed a 1 partition - 1 filegroup rule. On the microsoft fast track recomendations it is advised to create a filegroup and then for that filegroup a data file per each lun... but I pretend to have a week level partitioning... if I apply that rule I think that I'll get too many files and a complex layout. I'm thinking of just creating just one filegroup (with the 48 lun data files), but still create the partitions since I want to keep soem of the benefits of partitions like partition switching... Is this scenario not recommended? What would you suggest?

  • Why sometimes Windows cannot kill a process?

    Right now I'm trying to Run/Debung my app on VisualStudio, but it cannot create it because the las instance of the app.vshost.exe is still running. Then, by using the Task Manager i'm trying to kill it, but it just remains there with no signal of activity. Beyond that particular case (maybe a VS bug), i'm very curious about the technical reasons why sometimes Windows cannot kill a process??? Can, an enlighted OS related developer, please try to explain? (And please don't start a Unix/Linux/Mac battle against Windows)
