  I would like to add tooltip or generate link according to the element available in the database, for exemple if the html page printed is: to reboot your linux host in single-user mode you can ... I will use explode(" ", $row[page]) and the idea is now to lookup for every single word in the page to find out if they have a related referance in this exemple let's say i've got a table referance an one entry for reboot and one for linux reboot: restart a computeur linux: operating system now my output will look like (replaced < and by @) to @a href="ref/reboot"@reboot@/a@ your @a href="ref/linux"@linux@/a@ host in single-user mode you can ... Instead of have a static list generated when I saved the content, if I add more keyword in the future, then the text will become more interactive. My main concerne and question is how can I create a efficient enough process to do it ? Should I store all the db entry in an array and compare them ? Do an sql query for each word (seems to be crazy) Dump the table in a file and use a very long regex or a "grep -f pattern data" way of doing it? Or or or or I'm sure it must be a better way of doing it, just don't have a clue about it, or maybe this will be far too resource un-friendly and I should avoid doing such things. Cheers!

• jquery change event not working with IE6

  It is indeed quite unfortunate that my client still uses IE6. using jquery 1.4.2 The problem is that I open a window using a click event and do some edit operation in the new window. I have a 'change' event attached to the row of a table which has input fields. Now when the window loads for the first time and I make a change in the input for the FIRST time, the change event does not fire. however, on a second try it starts working.   Hi, I have a control template in one of my pages and i am assigning this template to my textbox's Validation.ErrorTemplate property. • I'm trying to build a query to search against a fulltext index in mysql

  The table's schema is pretty simple. I have a child table that stores a customer's information like address and phone number. The columns are user_id, fieldname, fieldvalue and fieldname. So each row will hold one item like phone number, address or email. This is to allow an unlimited number of each type of information for each customer. The people on the phones need to look up these customers quickly as they call into our call center. I have experimented with using LIKE% and I'm working with a FULLTEXT index now. My queries work, but I want to make them more useful because if someone searches for a telephone area code like 805 that will bring up many people, and then they add the name Bill to narrow it down, '805 Bill'. It will show EVERY customer that has 805 OR Bill. I want it to do AND searches across multiple rows within each customer. Currently I'm using the query below to grab the user_ids and later I do another query to fetch all the details for each user to build their complete record. SELECT DISTINCT `user_id` FROM `user_details` WHERE MATCH (`fieldvalue`) AGAINST ('805 Bill') Again, I want to do the above query against groups of rows that belong to a single user, but those users have to match the search keywords. What should I do?

• jquery - array problem help pls.

  Sorry folks, I really need help with posting an array problem. I would imaging it's quite simple, but beyond me. I want/need to create a single "nested array" from the 4 serials so that it enters the DB as 1 (one) row. • lots of backbone views - performance issues?

  tl;dr: I wonder if having lots (100+ for the moment, potentially up to 1000/2000 or more) of backbone views (as a cell of a table) is too heavy or not The project I'm working on revolves around a planning view. There one row per user that covers 6 hours of a day, each hour splitted in 4 slots of 15mn. This planning is used to add "reservations" when clicking on a slot, and should handle hovering of the correct slots, and also handle when it is NOT possible to make a reservation - ie. prevent user click on an "unavailable" slot. There is many reasons why a slot can't be clicked on: the user is not available at this time, or the user is in a reservation; or the app needs to "force" a delay slot between two reservations. Reservations (a div) are rendered in a slot (a cell of a table), and by toying with dimensions, hovers the right number of slots. All this screen is handled with backbone. So For each slot I'm hovering on, I need to check wether I can do a reservation here or not. As of this moment, I use this by toying with the data attributes on the slots : when a reservation object is added, the slots covered are "enhanced with (among others) the reservation object (the backbone view object). But in some cases I don't quite have a grasp on now, it mixes up, and when the reservation view is removed, the slots are not "cleaned up" : the previous class is not reset correctly. It is probably something I've done wrong or badly, but this is only going to get heavier; I think I should use another class of Backbone views here, but I'm afraid the number of slots and thereof of views objects will be high and cause performance issue. I don't know mush about js perf so I'd like to have some feedback before jumping on that train. Any other advice on how to do this would be quite welcomed too. Thanks for your time. • Silverlight 3: ListBox DataTemplate HorizontalAlignment

  I have a ListBox with it's ItemTemplate bound to a DataTemplate. My goal is to see this border expand to the full width of the listbox. Currently its width is determined by its contents or MinWidth, which is the only thing at the moment keeping it visible at all.

• How can you trigger the viewWillAppear of a UITableView AFTER its UINavigationController?

  I have a situation where I use a tab bar set up but with nav bar controllers on a couple tabs. Those tabs have table views on them. Everything works great, I can pick a tab and get a different table in a nav bar structure. The other tabs are non-nav controllers. Fine. I want to use the same table view controller and even the same detail screen since they are essentially the same format. I have two-dimensional arrays and a couple of vars tracking which tab and which table row so when I get to the detail it's all good. Now to the problem. It all seems to work just fine until I return to a tab that has already been visited. At that point, I do indeed get a viewWillAppear for both the view controller of that specific tab and the table view controller. However, I get the table view one first! It doesn't know which tab was tapped on; the other one does but that's too late to dynamically change the table! Any suggestions? Am I being too greedy about code duplication? I mean I could just make separate controllers for for each table view and then separate detail view controllers but I thought I had a good solution.

• Access 2007 and Special/Unicode Characters in SQL

  I have a small Access 2007 database that I need to be able to import data from an existing spreadsheet and put it into our new relational model. For the most part this seems to work pretty well. Part of the process is attempting to see if a record already exists in a target table using SQL. For example, if I extract book information out of the current row in the spreadsheet, it may contain a title and abstract. I use SQL to get the ID of a matching record, if it exists. This works fine except when I have data that's in a non-English language. In this case, it seems that there is some punctuation that is causing me problems. At least I think it's punctuation as I do have some fields that do not have punctuation and are non-English that do not give me any problems. Is there a built-in function that can escape these characters? Currently I have a small function that will escape the single quote character, but that isn't enough. Or, is there a list of Unicode characters that can interfere with how SQL wants data quoted? Thanks in advance.

  alright i built this stored procedure to take the columns from a stagging table and copy them into my other table, but if these four columns are duplicates it wont insert the rows, works fine. however, what i want to do is if only the tour, taskname and deptdate are the same, then i will update the rest of the information. and if all four columns are the same dont instert. • First test of a Windows Phone application

  I downloaded the Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Express for Windows Phone and I wrote a simple application to make a first test of the emulator. In this application I have only a button with the property Content binded to a string called ButtonText and with the property Background binded to a SolidColorBrush named FillColor. I handled the Click event with this code: void MyButton_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { if (toggle == true) { ButtonText = "Blue"; FillColor = new SolidColorBrush(Colors.Blue); } else { ButtonText = "Red"; FillColor = new SolidColorBrush(Colors.Red); } toggle = !toggle; } Unfortunately this doesn't work. While the Content of the Button changes each time the button is pressed, I cannot say the same for the Background which remains at the same color. Could you tell me what is wrong? Thank you. • Should I use two queries, or is there a way to JOIN this in MySQL/PHP?

  Morning y'all! Basically, I'm using a table to store my main data - called 'Code' - a table called 'Tags' to store the tags for each code entry, and a table called 'code_tags' to intersect it. There's also a table called 'users' which stores information about the users who submitted each bit of code. On my homepage, I want 5 results returned from the database. Each returned result needs to list the code's title, summary, and then fetch the author's firstname based on the ID of the person who submitted it. I've managed to achieve this much so far (woot!). My problem lies when I try to collect all the tags as well. At the moment this is a pretty big query and it's scaring me a little. Here's my problematic query: SELECT code.*, code_tags.*, tags.*, users.firstname AS authorname, users.id AS authorid FROM code, code_tags, tags, users WHERE users.id = code.author AND code_tags.code_id = code.id AND tags.id = code_tags.tag_id ORDER BY date DESC LIMIT 0, 5 What it returns is correct looking data, but several repeated rows for each tag. So for example if a Code entry has 3 tags, it will return an identical row 3 times - except in each of the three returned rows, the tag changes. Does that make sense? How does an object within an object get released without an explicit command to do so? I'm more or less flummoxed. I'm not releasing the fetched results controller or any of it's parts, and the only part getting dealloc'd is the predicate. Any ideas?

• Windows service threading call to WCF service

  Hi, I have a windows service that is reading data from a database and then submitting it to a WCF serivce. Once that has finished it is stamping a processed date on the original record. Trouble I am currently having is to do with threading. The call to the WCF serivce is relatively long and I want to have a number of concurrent calls to the service to help improve the throughput of the windows service. Currently I have a submitToService method on a new worker class. Upon reading a new row from the database I am creating a new thread which is calling this method. This obviously isn't too good as the number of threads quickly shoots up and overburdens the WCF service. I have put a thread.sleep in the submit method and am sure to call System.Threading.Thread.CurrentThread.Abort(); after the submission has finished. However, I don't seem to see the number of threads go down. How can I just have a fixed number of threads that can be used in the windows service? I did think about using a thread pool but read somewhere that wasn't a good choice for a windows service. Thanks very much.

• An Ideal Keyboard Layout for Programming

  I often hear complaints that programming languages that make heavy use of symbols for brevity, most notably C and C++ (I'm not going to touch APL), are difficult to type because they require frequent use of the shift key. A year or two ago, I got tired of it myself, downloaded Microsoft's Keyboard Layout Creator, made a few changes to my layout, and have not once looked back. The speed difference is astounding; with these few simple changes I am able to type C++ code around 30% faster, depending of course on how hairy it is; best of all, my typing speed in ordinary running text is not compromised. My questions are these: what alternate keyboard layouts have existed for programming, which have gained popularity, are any of them still in modern use, do you personally use any altered layout, and how can my layout be further optimised? I made the following changes to a standard QWERTY layout. (I don't use Dvorak, but there is a programmer Dvorak layout worth mentioning.) Swap numbers with symbols in the top row, because long or repeated literal numbers are typically replaced with named constants; Swap backquote with tilde, because backquotes are rare in many languages but destructors are common in C++; Swap minus with underscore, because underscores are common in identifiers; Swap curly braces with square brackets, because blocks are more common than subscripts; and Swap double quote with single quote, because strings are more common than character literals. I suspect this last is probably going to be the most controversial, as it interferes the most with running text by requiring use of shift to type common contractions. This layout has significantly increased my typing speed in C++, C, Java, and Perl, and somewhat increased it in LISP and Python.

• Dynamic Method Creation

  So, I have been trying to research this all morning, and have had no luck. I am trying to find a way to dynamically create a method/delegate/lambda that returns a new instance of a certain class (not known until runtime) that inherits from a certain base class. I can guarantee the following about the unknown/dynamic class It will always inherit from one known Class (Row) It will have atleast 2 constructors (one accepting a long, and one accepting an IDataRecord) I plan on doign the following: Finding all classes that have a certain attribute on them Creating a delegate/method/lambda/whatever that creates a new instance of the class Storing the delegate/whatever along with some properties in a struct/class Insert the struct into a hashtable When needed, pull the info out of the hashtable and calling the delegate/whatever to get a new instance of the class and returning it/adding it to a list/etc. I need help only with #2 above!!! I have no idea where to start. I really just need some reference material to get me started, or some keywords to throw into google. This is for a compact/simple to use ORM for our office here. I understand the above is not simple, but once working, should make maintaining the code incredibly simple. Please let me know if you need any more info! And thanks in advance! :)

  Hello, I would like to make a frequency table with random numbers. (up to 11 random values) My question is how do i exactly caculate the frequency between those 11 random values? The bars should have a relative relation with each other depending on there frequency. I would only like to use 1 single array in my program (for the generated values). F = (F * 21?) / ...? Really no clue how to obtain the proper results. If a frequency is =21 write * If a frequency is =20 write * If a frequency is =19 write * etc... Regards.

Something like data() method in Javascript jQuery. Right now I can see only 1 way to solve this - while creating TextView add id with data and when clicked - get id back and parse it to get my data. But it strikes me as ugly approach. Is there a way to attach arbitrary data to android views?

  I have a ContextMenu and a ColumnHeaderStyle defined in Window.Resource section witch i use-it to a DataGrid ColumnHeader. Initially based on some other treeView control selections made there shoud be no items in the context menu, but i wish to add dinamically items in ContextMenu based on selection in treeView. This part is done, the context has those items. On some selections there are no-items, but still on the grid it appears an empty ContextMenu. So I believe the easiest part it would be to bind the Visibility to Items.Count property of the same control. Sorry if my english is not good enought, I'll try to explain better if i didnt make clear 1st time.

• LINQ to Sql: Insert instead of Update

  I am stuck with this problems for a long time now. Everything I try to do is insert a row in my DB if it's new information - if not update the existing one.
