  • Guidance on creating a drawing application in Silverlight

    I need help on creating an application like Visio in Silverlight, of course a much more simpler one. Just dragging and dropping shapes and connecting them is enough at this time. Can someone direct me to some resources about this? Algorithms / implementations don't need to be in C# / Silverlight. It may be enough to start with the logic behind such an application. Thanks.

  • RoR custom routing/Method/View problem all methods come back as undefined

    I am playing with custom view and routes. I think that I have everything right but obviously not. Essentially I tried to copy the show method and show.html.erb but for some reason it will not work. My controller class fatherController < ApplicationController def show @father = Father.find(params[:id]) respond_to do |format| format.html # show.html.erb format.xml { render :xml => @father } end end def ofmine @father = Father.find(params[:id]) respond_to do |format| format.html # show.html.erb format.xml { render :xml => @father } end end end My routes.rb Parent::Application.routes.draw do resources :fathers do resources :kids end match 'hospitals/:id/ofmine' => 'father#show2' end when I go to 127.0.0.1:/father/1 it works fine but when I try to go to 127.0.0.1:/father/1/ofmine it gives the following error. It doesn't matter what the variable/method that is called; it occurs at the first one to be displayed.   • How do you make the scale animation begin at the middle of the object instead of the top left?

    What I am trying to accomplish: 10 percent increase scale transformation of a rectangle via Silverlight storyboard animation. What I currently doing: While in Expression Blend 3, I created a rectangle, created a storyboard, and created the scale transformation. The preview looked correct because the increase in scale begins in the middle of the object. When I run the project the scale transformation begins at the top left. Is there some piece of code missing?   • Why can't I get XSLT to work in chrome?

    I have a XSLT sample copied straight from http://www.w3schools.com/xsl/xsl_transformation.asp, which I can't seem to view in Google Chrome. However, it seems to work fine in IE. Does anyone know why this would be? EDIT: The online version works fine, but the local copy does not.

    Long and short of the story is, whilst reading John Resig's blog (specifically http://ejohn.org/blog/javascript-trie-performance-analysis/) I came across a line which makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever. Essentially it boils down to object = object[key] = something; (this can be found in the first code block of the article I've linked.) This has proven rather difficult to google, so if anyone can offer some insight / a good online resource for me to learn for myself, I'd much appreciate it.

  • Possible to lock attribute write access by Doors User?

    Is it possible to programmatically lock certain attributes based on the user? So certain attributes can be written to by User2 and certain attributes cannot be written to by User2. However, User1 may have write access to all attributes. What is the most efficient way of accomplishing this? I have to worry about not taking up too many computational resources, as I would like this to be able to work on quite large modules.

    I have EMPLOYEE-ID,DATE,IsPresent I want to calculate longest streak for a employee presence.The Present bit will be false for days he didnt come..So I want to calculate the longest number of days he came to office for consecutive dates..I have the Date column field is unique...So I tried this way - Select Id,Count(*) from Employee where IsPresent=1 But the above doesnt work...Can anyone guide me towards how I can calculate streak for this?....I am sure people have come across this...I tried searching online but...didnt understand it well...please help me out..
