• nivo slider and drop down menu doesnt work in IE

  I'm trying to build a simple product backlog application to teach myself Rails. For each product, there can be multiple product backlog entries, so I want to create a product view that shows the product information, all the backlog entries for the product, and includes a nested form for adding more backlog entries. • Swing object: first setText() gets "stuck" when using Mac Java SE 6

  Hi there, I am a Java newbie trying to maintain an application that works fine under J2SE 5.0 (32- and 64-bit) but has a very specific problem when run under Java SE 6 64-bit: [Tims-MPB:~] tlynch% java -version java version "1.6.0_15" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_15-b03-226) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 14.1-b02-92, mixed mode) The application is cross-platform and reportedly works correctly on Java SE 6 under Windows, though I haven't been able to verify that myself. The program uses a JTextField for some text entry and a JLabel to indicate the text to be entered. This should be checked when doing a call to the service as well as when the page is sent to the client ("POSTBACK"). What I need is : 4 Dropdowns Only the first dropdown is visible when first entering the page. When selecting a option from dropdown1 the dropdown2 will be populated and so on If there is only 1 option then the dropdown should be hidden If all 4 dropdowns is set and the end-user change dropdown 1, then dropdown2 should be reloaded and the rest be hidden If the user have selected some of the dropdowns(say 1,2 and 3) and hit submit and the page is not accepted on the server side(not valid) the dropdowns should be set exacly as when the user cliked the submit button when the page returns to the user. Any suggestions on this?

• UIButton custom font vertical alignment

  I've got a UIButton which uses a custom font, which is set when my view loads: - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; self.searchButton.titleLabel.font = [UIFont fontWithName: @"FONTNAME" size: 15.0 ]; } The problem I've got is that the font is appearing to float up of the center line. If I comment out this line, the default font appears vertically centered fine. But changing to the custom font breaks the vertical alignment. I'm getting the same issue on a Table Cell with a custom font too. Do I need to tell the view somewhere that the custom font is not as tall as other fonts? EDIT: I've just realized that the font I'm using is a Windows TrueType Font. I can use it fine in TextEdit on the Mac, only a problem with the alignment in my App

Of course, i will not publish all this pages at the same time, but i'm looking for infos on how much pages should i start with without going to the sandbox. For example, could i start with a 50 pages website or is it too much ? Then, have you an idea (i know there's no precises rules here) what's the frenquency / volume of pages i could add later ? For each record read from the csv, a lookup is made into the timezones collection to map the record location to the respective time zone. If the mapping is successful - that timezone is used to convert the record timestamp (pacific time) to the respective local timestamp. If no mapping is found - a rough approximation is calculated. The timezones collection is appropriately indexed, of course - calling explain() confirms it. The process is slow. Naturally, having to query the timezones collection for every record kills the performance. I am looking for advises on how to improve it. Thanks. Surprisingly, not only there is no improvement, but it works even more slowly now! May be rtree could be fine tuned to load the entire dat/idx pair into RAM (704M), but I do not know how to do it. Until then, it is not an alternative. In general, I think the solution should involve parallelization of the task.   I have a jQuery form that has validation of a sort. It is a data entry screen with two 'recommend ranges', one is 36-84, the other 50-300. The business rules call for the values to be either blank or greater than zero, but to prompt for confirmation if the values are outside of the range listed above. I have seen some other threads that talk about setting the class="cancel" on the submit button. From what I can tell, this will simply disable the validation. I need to prompt for a "do you want to continue, yes or no?" and if no stop the submit, if yes, continue. Below is an example from the book Pro jQuery. By default the top row needs to be between 10 and 20 to submit. • Using Array Variables For FILE_GET_CONTENTS

  I have a script all done now and everything has been debugged and it works, except for the last hurdle. This script grabs pertinent information on bank web sites, takes that data and uses it to populate a template and then it's all posted to Wordpress - BUT I get an error because the file_get_contents function fails taking each url from the Array. • How to improve Varnish performance?

  We're experiencing a strange problem with our current Varnish configuration. 4x Web Servers (IIS 6.5 on Windows 2003 Server, each installed on a Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5450 @ 3.00GHz Quad Core, 4GB RAM) 3x Varnish Servers (varnish-3.0.3 revision 9e6a70f on Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS - 64 bit/precise, Kernel Linux 3.2.0-29-generic, each installed on a Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5450 @ 3.00GHz Quad Core, 4GB RAM) The Varnish Servers performance are awfully bad in general, to the point that if we shut down one of them the other two are unable to fullfill all the requests and start to skip beats resulting in pending requests, timeouts, 404, etc. What can we do to improve our Varnish performance? Considering that we're getting less than 5k request per seconds during our max peak, we should be able to serve our pages even with a single one of them without any problem. If I try to access hin from another LAN (192.168.113.0/24 in this case) it hangs for a really long time before delivering the result. SHOW PROCESSLIST; shows this process in Sleep, State empty.   I'm trying to set up a Django application using WSGI. That works fine. However, I am having some issues with part of my Django app that uses BDB XML. Based on the type of order, i want a new textfield to appear. do i have to add the textfield in the init first or can i do it in the action performed.
