• Action bar with Search View. Reverse compatibility issues

  I am building a sample app to demonstrate SearchView with filter and other Action Bar items. I am able to successfully run this app on 4.2(Nexus 7). But it is not running on 2.3. I googled about the issue. Came to know that i should use SherLock Action bar. I just went to http://actionbarsherlock.com/download.html, downloaded the zip file and added the library as informed in the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4GJ6yY1lNNY&feature=player_embedde by WiseManDesigns. But still I am unable to figure out the issue.   Trying to insert some values in a Microsoft access database using java. I can an error however, java.sql.SQLException: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] The specified DSN contains an architecture mismatch between the Driver and Application Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NullPointerException To create the data source im using SysWoW64 odbcad32 and adding it the datasource to system DNS. I say this as i have seen else where there are problems which occur with 64bit systems. However it still doesn't work for me. • Ubuntu Kernel Panic on Inserting Network Cable

  I've been having a recurring kernel panic with my Ubuntu 9.04 installation (see other posts by me). Today, I was fiddling around trying to get some cable attached when the system panicked. Looking at the layout, the only cable in the vicinity was the network cable. Upon further investigation, it seems that the system reliably panics whenever I insert a network cable. Removing the cable does not cause the panic. How do I stop the system panicking when I insert the network cable? If more information is needed, please add comments/answers and I'll post the required data.

• Flex PopUpManager: How can I detect the existence of a modal popup?

  My Flex 3 application has some modal dialogs displayed via the PopUpManager, but there are times when I'd like other view components to know there is popup displayed. The PopUpManager doesn't have any method for actually checking the existence of popups. Is there any other way to detect this in flash/flex without writing my own global manager? (also systemManager.popUpChildren.numChildren == 0 even when there's a modal popup) Cheers.

Simply by excluding the Project = @Project (or whatever) we can get back the results we're looking for. Our issue is that we would like to find a nice dashboard (like Telerik Work Item Manager) that also supports this.

• test if master dns has transfered copy to slave

  Hello, I setup my master and slave using FreeBSD. I'm currently running the Bind 9.X version, so far everything is working successfully. Just one small problem. I can't get the master copy of my DNS to transfer it to the slave server. I included transfer-allow {192.168.1.111;}; // this is the slave server's IP I ran the rndc reload command to check but I don't see the copy in the /etc/named/master/? Any help would be appreciated and if you would like the layout of my DNS, I can provide that too.

  Hallo everybody I have the following problem: in MS Word, the left-side (and also the right-side) border is not aligned with the rest of the text on a page. It's actually the text in the first column of a table that is aligned with the text outside the table. And the table border is a little bit to the left. I find this layout quite a bit annoying, as I don't want to have any elements on a page outside the range that is used by normal text. Now my question: is it possible to have tables in Word such that the border lines align with the text outside the table? Thanks, Markus

  I tried searching the Internet, but could not find a decent tutorial explaining how to create a bootable Ubuntu Linux (10.04) USB installation that could be run not only on a PC but also on Macs and MacBook Pros. In addition, I tried refit, but ended with "Missing operating system" error. Here is basically the layout of my bootable under PC Ubuntu USB drive (using MBR): Partition 1 (ext3, bootable) - Ubuntu Linux 32 bit, contains also grub2 bootloader. Partition 2 (ext3) - Ubuntu Linux 64 bit. Partition 3 (fat32) - contains data. What would be the best way to enable this drive to boot under Mac OS X? And if refit has to be used, could I simply have one more partition on the USB drive containing it? Thanks!

  I am fuzzy about how to set a command in a script to be run only when the shell is running within an X session. basically, in ~/.bashrc I set my keyboard maps as setxkbmap -layout 'us,gr' -variant 'altgr-intl,extended' -option grp:alt_shift_toggle If I am connecting through putty , or otherwise, and i just open a command prompt window, I DONT want this command to run. If on the other hand, i have an X session running (locally or remotely) I want this command to run. how can I do this checking in a bash script? Is there a bash environment variable I can be looking at? some other way? Thank you for your help

• Binding functions of derived class with luabind

  I am currently developing a plugin-based system in C++ which provides a Lua scripting interface, for which I chose to use luabind. I'm using Lua 5 and luabind 0.9, both statically linked and compiled with MSVC++ 8. I am now having trouble binding functions with luabind when they are defined in a derived class, but not its parent class. More specifically, I have an abstract base class called 'IPlugin' from which all plugin classes inherit. When the plugin manager initialises, it registers that class and its functions like this: luabind::open(L); luabind::module(L) [ luabind::class_("IPlugin") .def("start", (void(IPlugin::*)())&IPlugin::start) ]; As it is only known at runtime what effective plugin classes are available, I had to solve loading plugins in a kind of roundabout way. The plugin manager exposes a factory function to Lua, which takes the name of a plugin class and a desired object name. The factory then creates the object, registers the plugin's class as inheriting from the 'IPlugin' base class, and immediately calls a function on the created object that registers itself as a global with the Lua state, like this: void PluginExample::registerLuaObject(lua_State *L, string a_name) { luabind::globals(L)[a_name] = (PluginExample*)this; } I initially did this because I had problems with Lua determining the most derived class of the object, as if I register it from the StreamManager it is only known as a subtype of 'IPlugin' and not the specific subtype. I'm not sure anymore if this is even necessary though, but it works and the created object is subsequently accessible from Lua under 'a_name'. The problem I have, though, is that functions defined in the derived class, which were not declared at all in the parent class, cannot be used. Virtual functions defined in the base class, such as 'start' above, work fine, and calling them from Lua on the new object runs the respective redefined code from the 'PluginExample' class. But if I add a new function to 'PluginExample', here for example a function taking no arguments and returning void, and register it like this: luabind::module(L) [ luabind::class_("PluginExample") .def(luabind::constructor()) .def("func", &PluginExample::func) ]; calling 'func' on the new object yields the following Lua runtime error: No matching overload found, candidates: void func(PluginExample&) I am correctly using the ':' syntax so the 'self' argument is not needed and it seems suddenly Lua cannot determine the derived type of the object anymore. I am sure I am doing something wrong, probably having to do with the two-step binding required by my system architecture, but I can't figure out where. I'd much appreciate some help =)

I'm not really trying to calculate the ROI of the build tool in the above paper, I was just trying to calculate the ROI of a simple build tool like ANT.

I have not been able to reproduce the issue on the emulator or on my HTC Hero (running 1.5), but this user running HTC Magic (with 1.6) is facing this error every time. It's quite verbose, so I'm posting it here, rather than pasting the whole thing on SO. There is a tabwidget, where one tab is connected to the scrollview, svFilmInfo, and one to the linear layout llComments. The tab host is populated as such: Drawable commentSelector = getResources().getDrawable(R.drawable.tabcomment); Drawable infoSelector = getResources().getDrawable(R.drawable.tabinfo); mTabHost = getTabHost(); mTabHost.getTabWidget().setBackgroundColor(Color.BLACK); mTabHost.addTab(mTabHost.newTabSpec("tabInfo").setIndicator("Filminfo", infoSelector).setContent(R.id.svFilmInfo)); mTabHost.addTab(mTabHost.newTabSpec("tabInfo").setIndicator("Kommentarer", commentSelector).setContent(R.id.llComments)); Since I cannot reproduce the error myself, and since I cannot find any mention in the stack trace of what might be causing the error, I don't quite know where to start troubleshooting this. • Changing the placement of the left border of tables in Word

  Is it possible to have tables in Word such that the border lines align with the text outside the table? In MS Word, the left-side (and also the right-side) border is by default not aligned with the rest of the text on a page. It's actually the text in the first column of a table that is aligned with the text outside the table. And the table border is a little bit to the left. I find this layout quite a bit annoying, as I don't want to have any elements on a page outside the range that is used by normal text. I know that I can change the column delimiters manually (via the ruler). I'm looking for some more automatic way like setting the defaults for the whole document or such.

  What is the best way to write a Safari extension? I've written a couple XUL extensions for Firefox, and now I'd like to write versions of them for Safari. Is there a way that would allow you to add buttons or forms to the browser UI, since this is not possible with an Input manager or Service menu?
