• Which GPU with my CPU for 1080p flash?

  Based on the following site: http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/systemreqs/ I need the following minimum spec to play 1080p flash video via a browser: CPU: 1.8GHz Intel Core Duo, AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+, or faster processor RAM: 512MB of RAM GPU: 64MB of graphics memory I only have a 2.8GHz Pentium 4 process which is no where near as good as the processor listed above. I don't want to upgrade my processor as I think it will mean I have to change the motherboard etc. So, my question is, what is the cheapest PCI-E GPU I can buy which will allow me to play smooth 1080p flash video via a browser. I think the cheapest I can get is the 8400GS, but am not sure if that will be able to handle 1080p with the processor I have. I have looked at the GT520 and was wondering if this is the cheapest GPU which I need, or if there is something cheaper which will do 1080p with a 2.8GHz Pentium 4. Or, will I have to get something better than a GT520?

• How to install Joomla in Ubuntu as localhost?

  I have installed the lamp-server but i stuck in one certain step.. Were it says remove installation folder if i click the button "Remove installation folder:" it says "error" and i guess this is because it doesn't have root previlages. So i run sudo nautilus go to the folder var/www, and remove the folder installation.. So now when i try to access my localhost No configuration file found and no installation code available. Exiting... I am confused, it asked me to remove it and now that is removed it needs it..:?

• 301 redirect bulk aspx URLs on IIS

  We recently relaunched an old ASPX site as a new Drupal site on the same domain. No 301 redirect was implemented. I have outputted a list of 1000 URLs that need to be 301 redirected. Most of the URLs are the results of search queries that were committed on the website. I.E.: http://www.mysite.com/electronics/CommunityDetails.aspx?FirstLetter=%&ID=444 We are running a Drupal site on IIS using a PHP plugin. Is there a way I can wild card a redirect of all ASPX pages? I know I can do it with .htaccess but that doesn't apply here. Any suggestions appreciated.

  Installed kubuntu on thursday Installed LaTeX on my kubuntu machine, using full Compiled an old document and it worked fine Downloaded a CV template from http://www.latextemplates.com/template/two-column-one-page-cv Compiled it, got error Fatal fontspec error: "cannot-use-pdftex" The fontspec package requires either XeTeX or LuaTeX to function. You must change your typesetting engine to, e.g., "xelatex" or "lualatex" instead of plain "latex" or "pdflatex". See the fontspec documentation for further information. For immediate help type H . • Which comes first DNS or name servers?

  Which comes first? DNS or nameservers? Its just I'm editing a domain and want to point it to different hosting servers. Now, normally I'd just set the nameservers to the new hosting nameservers, but this doesn't seem to be working (the control panels not brilliant - doesn't say "accepted" or "success" - and whois searches are turning up nothing - although I should leave it a while longer). Anyway - the point is, in the DNS records there are two A records (one for " " and one for "www") which have an ip address associated with them. So this is what I don't understand. If I change the nameservers, do I have to remove the DNS records? Will name servers "overwrite" a DNS record? Or vice versa? Thank you.

• No sound output from headphone jack Ubuntu12.04

  I have just bought a new ASUS u47vc computer. I have installed ubuntu 12.04 on it alongside windows 7 with no problems what so ever. Howevr, there is one issue that must be resolved. I can not get sound to come from the audio jack. The laptop's speakers work fine. It plays music and sound files fine with the internal speaks. However, when I plug in my headphones (or external speakers) the internal speakers mute (as they should) and nothing comes out of the headphones. • Big label generator

  Sometimes I write blog posts mainly so that I can find stuff when I need it later. This is such a blog post. Of late I have been writing lots of deployment scripts and I am fan of putting big labels into deployment scripts (which, these days, reside in SSDT) so one can easily see what’s going on as they execute. • Registrar with good security, DNS hosting, and DNSSEC and IPv6 resolvers?

  I'm looking to move my domains away from GoDaddy, but I'm having a tough time finding anyone with comparable features at a (even remotely) similar price. I've looked at the usual suggestions (NameCheap, Gandi.net, etc.), but they all seem to lack many of the GoDaddy feature base. I'm looking for: DNSSEC IPv6 Resolvers (dig pdns01.domaincontrol.com AAAA; etc. ) SSL-Logins by default HTTP-only login cookies No stupid password restrictions Two-factor authentications No DNS record limits Rough DNS statistics (queries/day, etc.) Audit trails GoDaddy has all of these, except two-factor, for $3/month. See http://www.godaddy.com/domains/dns-hosting.aspx I can't seem to find any other registrar that supports even a few of these. Is there a registrar that offers comparable features? Or, barring that, a DNS hosting service that offers similar features? (AWS Route53 doesn't offer DNSSEC or IPv6)

• AJAX 4 no ASP.NET 4 Web Application

  Andei fazendo uns testes no AJAX Control Toolkit 4 que deverá ser usado com o ASP.NET 4 no Visual Studio .NET 2010 e confesso que gostei muito. O link para download é http://www.asp.net/ajaxlibrary/act.ashx e todas as instruções constam no site. Notei que há diversos controles novos e um que me chamou a atenção foi o de Upload assíncrono para controlar os uploads de arquivos para o server. Vale a pena estudar um pouco estas novidades. Para quem já usava o AJAX no ASP.NET 3.5, a idéia do Toolkit é igual, exceto a adição de novos controles. Com o AJAX vc pode mudar todo o comportamento da sua aplicação WEB, requisições no server passam a ser menos frequentes, o layout ajuda e muito com os controles do AJAX. Nativamente no VS 2010 já há o AJAX que a MS suporta nativamente (ScriptManager, UpdatePanel, UpdateProgress, etc), mas vale a pena implementar alguns controles do Toolkit. Bons estudos!

• Installing Ubuntu 14.04 on macbook pro EFI

  Macbook pro: mavericks, 5.2, graphics: nvidia geforce 9600M I followed the guides from here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UEFIBooting#Detect_.28U.29EFI_firmware_processor_architecture and http://www.rodsbooks.com/ubuntu-efi/. What I have is the following: /dev/sda apple partitions /boot / (root) swap When installing ubuntu, I did not install the boot loader during installation but did so in a chroot environment after installing grub-efi. I installed grub to /dev/sda1 (efi) which created the grub64.efi file in efi/ubuntu. This allows the refined boot manager to bring up grub and select ubuntu however, the graphics does not work. Even after adding nomodeset and removing quiet/splash from the kernel parameters. Any ideas on what could be wrong? To be clear, if I remove quiet/splash, I can see all the text startup messages being printed out however, the display manager doesn't appear to start (the screen stays black). Oddly enough though, the ubuntu startup sound can be heard.
