• Python 3, urllib ... Reset Connection Possible?

  In the larger scale of my program the goal of the below code is to filter out all dynamic html in a web-page source code code snippet: try: deepreq3 = urllib.request.Request(deepurl3) deepreq3.add_header("User-Agent","etc......") deepdata3 = urllib.request.urlopen(deepurl3).read().decode("utf8", 'ignore') The following code is looped 3 times in order to identify whether the target web-page is Dynamic (source code is changed at intervals) or not. If the page IS dynamic, the above code loops another 15 times and attempts to filter out the dynamic content. QUESTION: While this filtering method works 80% of the time, some pages will reload ALL 15 times and STILL contain dynamic code. HOWEVER. If I manually close down the Python Shell and re-execute my program, the dynamic html that my 'refresh-page method' could not shake off is no longer there ... it's been replaced with new dynamic html that my 'refresh-page method' cannot shake off. So I need to know, what is going on here? How is re-running my program causing the dynamic content of a page to change. AND, is there any way, any 'reset connection' command I can use to recreate this ... without manually restarting my app. Thanks for your response.

  EDIT: This question was initially too general, I think. So What I really need is a very good tutorial on how to implement the Load More function on Safari for iPhone just like the Twitter website(mobile.twitter.com) does. Just a wordpress plugin won't really help. But if the plugin is well explained, like if it is wptouch, home(that also has this function) that can also do. I know that it doesn't really matter that it is being displayed on a mobile device, but the point I am stressing is that if such a function is well explained, then it will be up to me to know how to customize it to suit me. I am using a javascript function to load entries that come from the database dynamically, so that content opens in the same page (like with twitter(tweets feed) and facebook(news feed)). • How to connect to a third party website in classic asp using javascript for password encryption and yet not giving in the password.

  Hi I have to make changes to classic asp website where once a button is clicked it autologins to a third party website with a intermediate page that warns that you are logging in to a third party website. The thirdparty is providing us with a username and password and gave us an examle javascript to encode the password to send to them. Now where do I store the userid and password. I cannot execute the javascript on the serverside. It has to go to the client. If the asp page which has the encryption javascript goes to the client side then the source can be viewed and the username and password is given out. Is there a way that I can have hidden asp page whose only job is to encrypt the password and create a new url and auto redirect it to that new url. So when the user clicks ok on the intermediate warning page I redirect it to this hidden asp page which does the encryption and a creates a url for get method and redirects to that page. I am a novice as far as java script and classic asp is concerned. Any ideas/ advice will be appreciated. Thanks, --Abbi

• Heroku: Postgres type operator error after migrating DB from MySQL

  This is a follow-up to a question I'd asked earlier which phrased this as more of a programming problem than a database problem. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2935985/postgres-error-with-sinatra-haml-datamapper-on-heroku I believe the problem has been isolated to the storage of the ID column in Heroku's Postgres database after running db:push. In short, my app runs properly on my original MySQL database, but throws Postgres errors on Heroku when executing any query on the ID column, which seems to have been stored in Postgres as TEXT even though it is stored as INT in MySQL. My question is why the ID column is being created as INT in Postgres on the data transfer to Heroku, and whether there's any way for me to prevent this. • Why does animate not work for the first few 'selections' of my next button?

  I'll just start right off the bat and say I'm fairly new to JQuery, so if you see some glaring issues with my code....let me know what I'm doing wrong! Either way, I've been working on a script to fade divs in and out using the z-index and animate. It "works" after about 2-3 clicks, but the first two clicks do not fade or animate as I was hoping....why is that? • How do I debug JavaScript .onlick event?

  I'm learning JavaScript but seem to be having a problem. I have a piece of code that is executed when the page is fully loaded. The function then gathers all the button elements on my HTML page. From here I loop through getting each button's title attribute and then assign an onclick event to the button that is equal to a function that writes to the console.log with the title. I have tried various ways of doing this but it is not working. Here is the JavaScript code that I'm working with. Currently all it does is loop through calling the function and logging the tile to the console.log, but this is not supposed to happen. • Commited memory goes to physical RAM or reserves space in the paging file?

  When I do VirtualAlloc with MEM_COMMIT this "Allocates physical storage in memory or in the paging file on disk for the specified reserved memory pages" (quote from MSDN article http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa366887%28VS.85%29.aspx). All is fine up until now BUT: the description of Commited Bytes Counter says that "Committed memory is the physical memory which has space reserved on the disk paging file(s)." I also read "Windows via C/C++ 5th edition" and this book says that commiting memory means reserving space in the page file.... The last two cases don't make sense to me... If you commit memory, doesn't that mean that you commit to physical storage (RAM)? The page file being there for swaping out currently unused pages of memory in case memory gets low. The book says that when you commit memory you actually reserve space in the paging file. If this were true than that would mean that for a committed page there is space reserved in the paging file and a page frame in physical in memory... So twice as much space is needed ?! Isn't the page file's purpose to make the total physical memory larger than it actually is? If I have a 1G of RAM with a 1G page file = 2G of usable "physical memory"(the book also states this but right after that it says what I discribed at point 2). What am I missing? Thanks.

• Resize iframe to show first element works except in IE 7

  I have two iframes on my home page, the script below is in the head of the page that is being displayed in the iframe, there are several divisions on the page in a container div with an id of 'content', I want to size the iframe on the home page so that just the first div is initially seen and to scroll to see the rest. It is working in all browsers that I have tried except IE 7, I don't care too much about earlier browsers.   I have a function that attempts to take a list of usernames, look each one up in a user table, and then add them to a membership table. If even one username is invalid, I want the entire list to be rolled back, including any users that have already been processed. I thought that using sessions was the best way to do this but I'm running into a DetachedInstanceError: DetachedInstanceError: Instance <Organization at 0x7fc35cb5df90> is not bound to a Session; attribute refresh operation cannot proceed Full stack trace is here. The error seems to trigger when I attempt to access the user (model) object that is returned by the query. From my reading I understand that it has something to do with there being multiple sessions, but none of the suggestions I saw on other threads worked for me. • Zend, slow load, "waiting for response" for 20-80 seconds on local site

  So I have several sites running under the same zend setup. All of the sites run pretty normally except one. Upon loading or reloading this one site, reguardless of which page your on (excluding the 404 page explanation later...) you get a serious pause before any content begins to download. Using firebugs net panel you can see that the first request which is www.(siteaddress).com.local you see a "waiting for response" bar (purple) that is going for anywhere from 20 to sometimes 80+ seconds and this isn't on a dev site, this is on a local site under localhost. What I've managed to figure out so far is that all the pages do this except my 404 page. The reason the 404 page doesn't succumb to this is because it uses a seperate controller (the error controller) and therefore bypasses much of the controller and functions the other parts of the site use. Using exit statements I've manged to figure out that the problem happens somewhere between my post dispatch and my main (top most) controllers Init function. If i exit in the main controllers init the page loads (then exits instantly, no wait). If i do the same in the pre or post dispatch the page waits the 20-80 seconds then exits. Is there a diagram or explanation somewhere or a way for me to find out what events fire inbetween the post dispatch and the main controllers init function? Or does anyone have any clue what might cause this? Any help would be greatly appreciated...

• jQuery / Loading content into div and changing url's (working but buggy)

  This is working, but I'm not being able to set an index.html file on my server root where i can specify the first page to go. It also get very buggy in some situations. Basically it's a common site (menu content) but the idea is to load the content without refreshing the page, defining the div to load the content, and make each page accessible by the url. One of the biggest problems here it's dealing with all url situations that may occur. The ideal would be to have a rel="divToLoadOn" and then pass it on my loadContent() function... so I would like or ideas/solutions for this please. • JQuery click anywhere except certain divs and issues with dynamically added html

  I want this webpage to highlight certain elements when you click on one of them, but if you click anywhere else on the page, then all of these elements should no longer be highlighted. This is done by .append() and .prepend() What I suspected from debugging was that the page is not "aware" of the new elements that were added to the page dynamically. Despite the new, dynamically added elements having the appropriate class names/IDs/names/onclicks ect, they never get highlighted like the rest of the elements (which continue to work fine the entire time). I was wondering if a possible reason for why my approach does not work for the dynamically added content is that the page is not able to recognize the elements that were not present during the pageload. And if this is a possibility, then is there a way to reconcile this without a pageload? If this line of reasoning is wrong, then the code I have above is probably not enough to show what's wrong with my webpage. But I'm really just interested in whether or not this line of thought is a possibility.

  This is driving me bananas. I have tried multiple fixes, and have even found a generator (generateit.net/mod-rewrite/) to create my .htaccess files, but I cannot get this to work. The .htaccess file is being read - if I put garbage characters in, I get a 500 server error. Also, mod rewrite was working in a simpler format, but the client wants even more SEO, so here I am. My intention: Take the url of brinkofdesign.com/portfolio/123/456/some_seo_text.html and send it to brinkofdesign.com/brink_portfolio.php?catid=123&locationid=456. If it matters, I do have an actual portfolio.php page - could this be breaking it? There is no actual /portfolio/ folder - this is just part of the SEO nme. Also, the host is 1and1.com. Real life tests: brinkofdesign.com/portfolio/1/1/birmingham_al_corporate_branding.html loads my actual portfolio.php page - which is supposed to be a landing page for the portfolio, as opposed to the brink_portfolio.php page, which is my detail record page. No variables are passed (echoing out the contents of the $_GET array gives an empty array). Typing in an non SEO link like brinkofdesign.com/brink_portfolio.php?catid=1&locationid=1 does work correctly. Gurus, please help me!

• validation controls are not validating on enabling on client side using java script, plz guide

  Hi, As per requirement I disabled all validation controls in page on PageLoad event in server side. On clicking submit button I want to activate them and validate the page and if the page is ok submit other wise not. I am able to enable all validaters but one thing that I am unable to understand is that they do not validate the page. I set alerts and check they are being enabled but they do not validate the page and let the page submit. I am sorry I couldn't get where I am wrong, may be there need to call some validation method as well or I should prevent default behavior of button. please guide me. • problem using the xsl method for-each

  Using XSL I am trying to turn this XML: <book><title>This is a <b>great</b> book</title></book> into this XML: <book>This is a <bold>great</bold> book</book> using this xsl: <xsl:for-each select="book/title/*"> <xsl:choose> <xsl:when test="name() = 'b'"> <bold> <xsl:value-of select="text()"/> </bold> </xsl:when> <xsl:otherwise> <xsl:value-of select="text()"/> </xsl:otherwise> </xsl:choose> </xsl:for-each> but my output is looking like this: <book><bold>great</bold></bold> Can anyone explain why the root text of <title> is getting lost? I believe my for-each select statement may need to be modified but I can't figure out what is should be. Keep in mind that I cannot use an <xsl:template match> because of the complexity of my style sheet. Thanks!

• Basic HTML Internal Link not working in IE8

  This one has me scratching my head. I have a page with several internal links bringing the user down the page to further content. Beneath various sections there are further internal links bringing the user back to the top. This works fine in all browsers apart from IE8 (actual IE8 - not IE9 in IE8 mode) where they work go down, but not coming back up! Examples: <a href="page.php?v=35&amp;u=admin-videos#a">A &ndash; General</a> .... //travelling DOWN the page <h3><strong>A &ndash; General<a name="a"></a></strong></h3> <a name="top"></a> .... //travelling back up <a href="page.php?v=35&amp;u=admin-videos#top">Back to top.</a> I've tried filling the 'top' anchor with &nbsp; but that hasn't changed it. • Changing the href attribute on hover with jQuery

  Ok, I have an html page that is loaded into another html page via PHP (ok so its a PHP page, whatever). The page that is loaded is a list of hyperlinks. I need to change the href attribute to make the hyperlinks relative to the location of the stored images they refer too. When i load the page containing the hyperlinks the links are relative to the web host server, not the server that the page is actually hosted from. Somthing like this: <div #screenshots) <p><a href="image1.htm">Image1</a></p> <p><a href="image2.htm">Image2</a></p> <p><a href="image3.htm">Image3</a></p> <p><a href="image4.htm">Image4</a></p> <p><a href="image5.htm">Image5</a></p> </div> When I mouse over the links, the status bar shows the reference as "http://webHostServer.com/image1.htm". If I click it I get a 404 error.
