• Objective-c Cocos2d moving a sprite

  I hope someone knows how to do the following with cocos2d: I want a sprite to move but not in a single line by using [cocosGuy runAction: [CCMoveTo actionWithDuration:1 position:location]]; What I want is the sprite to do some kind of movements that I preestablish. For example in some point i want the sprirte to move for instance up and then down but in a curve. • How can I block abusive bots from accessing my Heroku app?

  My Heroku (Bamboo) app has been getting a bunch of hits from a scraper identifying itself as GSLFBot. Googling for that name produces various results of people who've concluded that it doesn't respect robots.txt (eg, http://www.0sw.com/archives/96). I'm considering updating my app to have a list of banned user-agents, and serving all requests from those user-agents a 400 or similar and adding GSLFBot to that list. Is that an effective technique, and if not what should I do instead? (As a side note, it seems weird to have an abusive scraper with a distinctive user-agent.)

• SEO Metatags in Web Forms and MVC

  Has anyone got any ideas on where we should be adding our SEO metadata in a Web Forms project? Why I ask is that currently I have two main Masterpages, one is the home page and the other one is every other page, they both have the same metadata that’s just a generic description and set of key words about my site. The problem with that is search engines are only picking up my home page and my own search engine displays the same title and description for all results. The other problem is the site is predominantly dynamic so if you type in a search for beach which is a major categories on the site you get 10000 results that all go to different information but all look like a link to the same page to the user. edit It's live here www.themorningtonpeninsula.com

I am very interested in seeing a list of principles from someone who works at a company where these principles are discussed, published, followed, etc. The closest I have seen to a principles-based engineering organization are companies which are agile and follow the agile principles.   I am using the chromium browser to display the following web page: http://www.primaryworksheets.co.uk/multiws/multi23.html I want to print off this maths worksheet for my son, but all I ever get out of my printer is a blank page. The web page appears to be produced using flash. I have been to the software centre and re-installed the flash plugin, but that did not help. I don't seem to have problems printing anything else. Firefox isn't any better. Can anyone tell me what else I might try? I'm using '11.04'. Thanks, Richard

  URL Rewrite offers tremendous flexibility for customizing rules to your environment. One area of functionality that is often desired for URL Rewrite is to allow a large list of approved or denied IP addresses and subnet ranges. IIS’s original IP Restrictions is helpful for fully blocking an IP address, but it doesn’t offer the flexibility that URL Rewrite does. An example where URL Rewrite is helpful is where you want to allow only authorized IPs to access staging.yoursite.com, but where staging.yoursite.com is part of the same site as www.yoursite.com. This requires conditional logic for the user’s IP. This lesson covers this unique situation while also introducing Rewrite Maps, server variables, and pairing rules to add more flexibility. Now, however - Oracle officially doesn't recommend this book. to be precise - I don't now what they recommend. I could only find this "value package":( http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=532 Can someone who got mysql certification confirm that this book is what they have used?   Interesting stuff, particularly if you're doing BI. BISM tabular and Power View will not be in Standard Edition, only in the new - presumably more expensive - Business Intelligence Edition. That kind of makes sense as you need a fairly pricey edition of SharePoint to really get all the benefits, but it's a shame there won't be some kind of limited version in Standard Edition. And Always On will be in Standard Edition but limited to 2 nodes. I really expected Always On to be Enterprise-only so this is a great decision.   for work I need to get a a new and cheap graphics card for a dual boot machine: windows xp/ubuntu 12.04 LTS. The only requirements I have are: it should work 'flawlessly' in ubuntu (proprietary drivers are ok) it should handle Guild Wars 2 & League of Legends in windows xp (this is really the top priority as we need to be able to play at work :) - yes I have a cool job) I know nothing about graphics cards (and it seems to be a jungle out there).   At firs sorry for my english, it isn't my native languaje. I've readed some questions similar but no the exactly whith the same problem. I've moved my home directory to a separated partitión (Ubuntu 11.10) following this tutorial http://www.ubuntu-es.org/node/58233 After checking that they were all my files and folders (forgetting that one of dirs was encrypted by ecryptfs) i've installed fedora 16. Well, suprised when in my home folder was an Readme.txt advising me that my folder was unmounted for security reasons and proposing to type in comand line "ecryptfs-mount-Private" (din't work) or make click on labeled icon "acces your private data desktop" (neither din't work). After three days reading all i could find on the internet, i follow The Dustin Kirkland tutorial in http://blog.dustinkirkland.com/2011/04/introducing-ecryptfs-recover-private.html, but any /.ecryptfs was found. I'm sure that the data are somewere (the size of the moved dir is identical to the original one). Any help would by greatly appreciated. Thaks a lot.

  I try to boot Ubuntu 12.04, 64-bit on my Compaq CQ58 laptop from a USB but it is not working. I've correctly installed the Ubuntu on my pen drive following the instructions on Ubuntu website.   I was wanting to play around with something in a VM the other day.  I was curious what was available for free, if anything, for windows.   I quickly came across Virtual Box  ( http://www.virtualbox.org/ ).   Downloaded, Installed. No Problem!  Works really nicely.   It was commercial software (by sun (now oracle)) that turned open source.   In terms of a license it says :- In summary, the VirtualBox PUEL allows you to use VirtualBox free of charge for personal use or, alternatively, for product evaluation. An interesting feature it has is built in RDP.   Which is useful if you have a guest OS that doesn’t support RDP.   Speaking of RDP…..  which I will in my next blog post… I learnt something REALLY useful the other day.
