  • Passing parameters to a flash movie inserted in a VB program

    - by Michael
Hi! I need to insert a Flash movie in a Visual Basic 2008 express form and send parameters to the movie, but am a newbie to VB. The flash movie will plot points sent by VB in a graph. I tried to insert the Shockwave Flash control in the form but cannot find it anywhere. So I inserted the webbrowser control, which I understand can be used to a similar purpose. But how would I send the values of X and Y (coordinates to plot in Flash) to the flash swf? Thanks for any help!

  • Passing local variables to Erlydtl block

    - by Justin
Hi, I've got a block of erlydtl code which I use repeatedly and would like to abstract to some kind of block / partial template. The issue is that I need to pass the block a local variable. This is possible with Rails partial templates; it looks like it's possible with Django's blocks [albeit with some kind of Python hackery]; I'm wondering if it's possible with Erlydtl [Erlang implementation of Django templates] Ideas ? Thanks you.

  • Passing parameter map (list of values) to JQuery

    - by bsreekanth
Hello, to initialize a javascript loaded grid, I need to pass a list of values from controller/gsp. Since the javascript is activated once the page is rendered/loaded, there may not be a direct way to do it. 2 possibilities 1. do an ajax call, and retrieve the list of values from the server 2. store the list in html as a hidden element, and read it from javascript. option 2 seems better as it avoids few calls back to server. So, which control should I use for a list of values? Any jQuery code snippet to read it back into array/list. thanks in advance.

  • C++ Newbie: Passing an fstream to a function to read data

    - by vgm64
I have a text file named num.txt who's only contents is the line 123. Then I have the following: void alt_reader(ifstream &file, char* line){ file.read(line, 3); cout << "First Time: " << line << endl; } int main() { ifstream inFile; int num; inFile.open("num.txt"); alt_reader(inFile, (char*)&num); cout << "Second Time: " << num << endl; } The output is: First Time: 123 Second Time: 3355185 Can you help me figure out how to get an fstream that is read in a function still assign the variable in main? I'm doing this because alt_reader really has a lot more to it, but this is the part I'm stuck on. Thanks a lot for the help.

  • Parameter passing become pointer for integer

    - by Kangkan
I am working on a c/Linux app for a device. I consume a web service (in WCF/c#) and use gSOAP for the same. The issue is that the parameters in the service methods become pointers for simple data types like int, short etc also. I initially used the same service exposed as ASMX web service and the client proxy generated using gSOAP created methods with parameters passed as values. But once the service has been upgraded to WCF, all the parameters became pointers. Can somebody help?

  • Having trouble passing text from MySQL to a Javascript function using PHP

    - by Nathan Brady
So here's the problem. I have data in a MySQL DB as text. The data is inserted via mysql_real_escape_string. I have no problem with the data being displayed to the user. At some point I want to pass this data into a javascript function called foo. // This is a PHP block of code // $someText is text retrieved from the database echo "<img src=someimage.gif onclick=\"foo('{$someText}')\">"; If the data in $someText has line breaks in it like: Line 1 Line 2 Line 3 The javascript breaks because the html output is <img src=someimage.gif onclick="foo('line1 line2 line3')"> So the question is, how can I pass $someText to my javascript foo function while preserving line breaks and carriage returns but not breaking the code? =========================================================================================== After using json like this: echo "<img src=someimage.gif onclick=\"foo($newData)\">"; It is outputting HTML like this: onclick="foo("line 1<br \/>\r\nline 2");"> Which displays the image followed by \r\nline 2");"

  • need help passing multiple variables from foreach loop to test in switch case statement

    - by Brad
$list_of_groups = array("FACULTY","STAFF"); foreach ($list_of_groups as $i => $group) { $user_in_group = $adldap->user_ingroup($username,$group); print "<h2>Group: ".$group." user in group? ".$user_in_group."</h2>"; // if 1, means yes } Need to print run the appropriate function based on what returns true. There are user's that are members of both FACULTY and STAFF groups, so I want to check for those users and display the appropriate content for them. So if the user is both faculty and staff, then display this, if they are only of staff, display that, same for faculty, might not make sense, but I will write out some code "in theory" that will help you understand what I am trying to do switch(Get group membership of user) { case "FACULTY": print "Faculty group member"; break; case "STAFF": print "Staff group member"; break; case "FACULTY and STAFF": print "Member of both faculty and staff"; break; } I am unsure on how it will check if they are members of both groups and run that thru the case statement to display the appropriate message. The foreach look currently runs thru every group the user belongs to, prints out the ones from the $list_of_groups and the number 1 to the right of it, signifying they belong to it. The problem I have is trying to use that information to run thru the case statement, I am unsure of how to go about that. This is what it prints out for the user currently passed thru the foreach loop: Group: FACULTY user in group? 1 Group: STAFF user in group? 1 Any help is appreciated.

  • Update configSource of XML element in web.config using Powershell by passing in Parameters

    - by Howard
I am trying to figure out a way to update my web.config for different environments by updating the configSource for the appSettings element in the web.config. Here are the way I know how to do it. $xml.get_DocumentElement().appSettings.configSource = $replaced_test The problem is that I want one base script where I can pass in different nodes to the script that I want to change and update but I am not sure how to do it. For example, I want to be able to call a powershell script like this changeWebConfig.ps1 nodeToChange newValueofNode I hope this was clear enough. This is the code I have now. $webConfigPath = "C:\web.config" # Get the content of the config file and cast it to XML $xml = [xml](get-content $webConfigPath) #this was the trick I had been looking for $root = $xml.get_DocumentElement()."system.serviceModel".client.configSource = $replace # Save it $xml.Save($webConfigPath)

  • zend_form ViewScript decorator / passing arguments

    - by timpone
I have a form that is extend from Zend_Form. I am placing the form into a ViewScript decorator like this: $this->setDecorators(array(array('ViewScript', array('viewScript' => 'game/forms/game-management.phtml')))); I'd like to pass in a variable to this ViewScript but am not sure how this could be done. Since the partial renders out as a Zend_View (allowing $this-app_store_icon for rendering), it seems like there should be a way to pass variables to be rendered. I tried the following but to no avail. $this->setDecorators(array(array('ViewScript', array('viewScript' => 'game/forms/game-management.phtml'),array('app_store_picon'=>$current_app_store_picon)))); Any help on how to get this done would be appreciated. thanks

  • Passing Parameters to Child Tasks from a Parent Task in Rake

    - by Haseeb Khan
I am new to the world of Rake and currently writing a Rake Script which consists of various tasks depending on the arguments passed to it on runtime. From some Tutorials over the web, I figured out how to pass parameters to the Script as well how to make a task which is dependent on other subtasks. For reference, I have mentioned a sample below: task :parent, [:parent_argument1, :parent_argument2, :parent_argument3] => [:child1, :child2] do # Perform Parent Task Functionalities end task :child1, [:child1_argument1, :child1_argument2] do |t, args| # Perform Child1 Task Functionalities end task :child2, [:child2_argument1, :child2_argument2] do |t, args| # Perform Child2 Task Functionalities end Following is what I want to achieve: I want to pass the arguments passed to the parent task to the child tasks. Is it allowed? Is there a way I can make the child tasks as private so they can't be called independently? Thanks in advance.

  • converting code from not CPS to CPS (CPS aka Continuation Passing Style aka Continuations)

    - by Delirium tremens
before: function sc_startSiteCompare(){ var visitinguri; var validateduri; var downloaduris; var compareuris; var tryinguri; sc_setstatus('started'); visitinguri = sc_getvisitinguri(); validateduri = sc_getvalidateduri(visitinguri); downloaduris = new Array(); downloaduris = sc_generatedownloaduris(validateduri); compareuris = new Array(); compareuris = sc_generatecompareuris(validateduri); tryinguri = 0; sc_finishSiteCompare(downloaduris, compareuris, tryinguri); } function sc_getvisitinguri() { var visitinguri; visitinguri = content.location.href; return visitinguri; } after (I'm trying): function sc_startSiteCompare(){ var visitinguri; sc_setstatus('started'); visitinguri = sc_getvisitinguri(sc_startSiteComparec1); } function sc_startSiteComparec1 (visitinguri) { var validateduri; validateduri = sc_getvalidateduri(visitinguri, sc_startSiteComparec2); } function sc_startSiteComparec2 (visitinguri, c) { var downloaduris; downloaduris = sc_generatedownloaduris(validateduri, sc_startSiteComparec3); } function sc_startSiteComparec3 (validateduri, c) { var compareuris; compareuris = sc_generatecompareuris(downloaduris, validateduri, sc_startSiteComparec4); } function sc_startSiteComparec4 (downloaduris, compareuris, validateduri, c) { var tryinguri; tryinguri = 0; sc_finishSiteCompare(downloaduris, compareuris, tryinguri); } function sc_getvisitinguri(c) { var visitinguri; visitinguri = content.location.href; c(visitinguri); } What should the code above become? I need CPS, because I have XMLHttpRequests when validating uris, then downloading pages, but I can't use return statements, because I use asynchronous calls. Is there an alternative to CPS? Also, I'm having to pass lots of arguments to functions now. global in procedural code look like this / self in modular code. Any difference? Will I really have to convert from procedural to modular too? It's looking like a lot of work ahead.

  • SmtpClient.Send() complains of incorrect no of overloads when passing in MailMessage object

    - by dotnetdev
Hi, I have this code written in .NET 4.0 using VS2010 Ultimate Beta 2: smtpClient.Send(mailMsg); smtpClient is a reference to SmtpClient (I have the relevant references added), and likewise for mailMsg (is MailMessage) - there are no errors stating anything like check for missing assemblies. However, I keep getting an error saying that I have the incorrect no of overloads, when SmtpClient takes either a MailMessage object or the To address, From address, Subject, etc. Why doesn't this code work? Totally confused. Thanks

  • Null date reference when passing json to MVC Controller

    - by Jake
I am building an event system that posts data to a google calendar. I am using jquery 1.4.2, fullcalendar 1.4.5, and asp.net MVC 2. I am using a jquery ui modal dialog for the entry system. Jquery ui datepicker for the from and to fields. Select boxes for the time fields. I have tried both string and DateTime formats in the GCalEvent Class for startDate, startTime, endDate and endTime. I am receiving a null reference with the dates passed to the controllers Action method. var gcalevent = { 'eventID': $('#eventID').val(), 'eventURL': $('#eventURL').val(), 'date': { 'startDate': $("#from").val(), 'startTime': $('#eventStartHour option:selected').val() + ":" + $('#eventStartMin option:selected').val() + $('#eventStartAMPM option:selected').val(), 'endDate': $('#to').val(), 'endTime': $('#eventEndHour option:selected').val() + ":" + $('#eventEndMin option:selected').val() + $('#eventEndAMPM option:selected').val() }, 'allDay': $('#chkAllDay').attr('checked'), 'where': $('#eventWhere').val(), 'eventTitle': $('#eventTitle').val(), 'eventDescription': $('#eventDescription').val() }; $.post("/home/AddRepeatingEvent", gcalevent, addEventCallback); public void AddNonRepeatingEvent(Models.GCalEvent gcalevent) { IGCalRepository _gcalrepo; GCalRepository gcalrepo = new GCalRepository(); _gcalrepo = gcalrepo; //_gcalrepo.AddEvent(gcalevent); GetGoogleEventURL(gcalevent.eventID.ToString()); } public enum Days { Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thur, Fri, Sat } public enum DefaultCalendarView { Month, Day, Week } public enum OrderType { First, Second, Third, Fourth, Last } public abstract class RepeatBaseType { } public class GCalEvent { public string title { get; set; } public string description { get; set; } public string where { get; set; } public bool repeated { get; set; } public bool allDay { get; set; } public DefaultCalendarView defaultCalendarView { get; set; } public GCalEventDate date { get; set; } public RepeatBaseType repeatType { get; set; } public string eventID { get; set; } public string eventURL { get; set; } } public class GCalEventDate { public string startDate { get; set; } public string startTime { get; set; } public string endDate {get;set;} public string endTime {get;set;} } internal class Duration { int Days { get; set; } int Hours { get; set; } int Minutes { get; set; } } public class RepeatedDaily: RepeatBaseType { public int Days { get; set; } } public class RepeatedWeekly : RepeatBaseType { public int Weeks { get; set; } public Days[] days { get; set; } } public class RepeatedMonthly : RepeatBaseType { public int Months { get; set; } public RepeatedMonthlyType repeatedMonthlyType { get; set; } } public class RepeatedYearly : RepeatBaseType { public int Years {get;set;} } public abstract class RepeatedMonthlyType { } public class RepeatedMonthlyDayOfWeek : RepeatedMonthlyType { public Days[] DayOfWeek { get; set; } public OrderType orderType { get; set; } } public class RepeatedMonthlyDayOfMonth : RepeatedMonthlyType { public DateTime DayOfMonth { get; set; } } This is the first time i am attempting to use abastract classes. • Passing Custom headers from .Net 1.1 client to a WCF service

    - by sreejith
    I have a simple wcf service which uses basicHttp binding, I want to pass few information from client to this service via custom SOAP header. My client is a .net application targetting .Net 1.1, using visual studio I have created the proxy( Added a new web reference pointing to my WCF service) I am able to call methods in the WCF service but not able to pass the data in message header. Tried to override "GetWebRequest" and added custom headers in the proxy but for some reason when I tried to access the header using "OperationContext.Current.IncomingMessageHeaders.FindHeader" it is not thier. Any idea how to solve this prob? This is how I added the headers protected override System.Net.WebRequest GetWebRequest(Uri uri) { HttpWebRequest request; request = (HttpWebRequest)base.GetWebRequest(uri); request.Headers.Add("tesData", "test"); return request; }

  • passing user from UITableView to UIWebView based on selection

    - by ct2k7
Hello, I'm trying to pass the user on to the interface based on their cell selection in the UITableView, ie, if the user selects cell 1, they are taken to view model 2, containing UIWebView. UIWebView then displays local file, cell1.html. Currently, I've manage to get placeholder using: selectedCellText.text = selectedCell; to display the name of the cell selected. How do I get it to directly pass to the UIWebView, stick UIWebView in the interface and link it using: UIWebView *myWebView = [[UIWebView alloc] initWithFrame:frame]; NSBundle *mainBundle = [NSBundle mainBundle]; NSString *stringUrl = [mainBundle pathForResource:@"selectedCell" ofType:@"html"]; NSURL *baseUrl = [NSURL fileURLWithPath:stringUrl]; NSURLRequest *urlRequest = [NSURLRequest requestWithURL:baseUrl]; [myWebView loadRequest:urlRequest]; My other issue is that some of the cell names have spaces in them, and for simplicity, I'd like to ensure that there are no spaces (actually, will it even work with spaces in the name, I assume with %20 ? Thanks

  • Passing XML markers to Google Map

    - by djmadscribbler
I've been creating a V3 Google map based on this example from Mike Williams http://www.geocodezip.com/v3_MW_example_map3.html I've run into a bit of a problem though. If I have no parameters in my URL then I get the error "id is undefined idmarkers [id.toLowerCase()] = marker;" in Firebug and only one marker will show up. If I have a parameter (?id=105 for example) then all the sidebar links say 105 (or whatever the parameter in the URL was) instead of their respective label as listed in the XML file and a random infowindow will be opened instead of the window for the id in the URL. Here is my javascript: var map = null; var lastmarker = null; // ========== Read paramaters that have been passed in ========== // Before we go looking for the passed parameters, set some defaults // in case there are no parameters var id; var index = -1; // these set the initial center, zoom and maptype for the map // if it is not specified in the query string var lat = 42.194741; var lng = -121.700301; var zoom = 18; var maptype = google.maps.MapTypeId.HYBRID; function MapTypeId2UrlValue(maptype) { var urlValue = 'm'; switch (maptype) { case google.maps.MapTypeId.HYBRID: urlValue = 'h'; break; case google.maps.MapTypeId.SATELLITE: urlValue = 'k'; break; case google.maps.MapTypeId.TERRAIN: urlValue = 't'; break; default: case google.maps.MapTypeId.ROADMAP: urlValue = 'm'; break; } return urlValue; } // If there are any parameters at eh end of the URL, they will be in location.search // looking something like "?marker=3" // skip the first character, we are not interested in the "?" var query = location.search.substring(1); // split the rest at each "&" character to give a list of "argname=value" pairs var pairs = query.split("&"); for (var i = 0; i < pairs.length; i++) { // break each pair at the first "=" to obtain the argname and value var pos = pairs[i].indexOf("="); var argname = pairs[i].substring(0, pos).toLowerCase(); var value = pairs[i].substring(pos + 1).toLowerCase(); // process each possible argname - use unescape() if theres any chance of spaces if (argname == "id") { id = unescape(value); } if (argname == "marker") { index = parseFloat(value); } if (argname == "lat") { lat = parseFloat(value); } if (argname == "lng") { lng = parseFloat(value); } if (argname == "zoom") { zoom = parseInt(value); • passing hashes to a subroutine

In one of my main( or primary) routines,I have two or more hashes. I want the subroutine foo() to recieve these possibly-multiple hashes as distinct hashes. ( I am using mod_perl, or will be) Right now I have got some answer to my requirement, shown here From http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-803720-start-0.html # sub: dump the hash values with the keys '1' and '3' sub dumpvals { foreach $h (@_) { print "1: $h->{1} 3: $h->{3}\n"; } } # initialize an array of anonymous hash references @arr = ({1,2,3,4}, {1,7,3,8}); # create a new hash and add the reference to the array $t{1} = 5; $t{3} = 6; push @arr, \%t; # call the sub dumpvals(@arr); I only want to extend it so that in dumpvals I could do something like this: foreach my %k ( keys @_[0]) { # use $k and @_[0], and others } The syntax is wrong, but I suppose you can tell that I am trying to get the keys of the first hash ( hash1 or h1), and iterate over them. How to do it in the latter code snippet above?

  • How ASP.NET MVC passes model to the view without explicitly passing it

    - by Vlad Bezden
Here is one of the examples that I've seen on how to do validation on Controller: [HttpPost] public ViewResult Create(MyModel response) { if (ModelState.IsValid) { return View("Thanks"); } else { return View(); } } If there are validation errors, than return View() method is called without any parameters. Obviesly you have @Html.ValidationSummary() in your View and Model has all required properties attributes. The data that was entered into the form was preserved and displayed again when the view was rendered with the validation summary. My question is how data preserved? Since it was not passed to the View like return View(response); Thanks a lot. Sincerely, Vlad

  • Passing parameter to controller from route in laravel

    - by bretterer
Given the following route Route::get('groups/(:any)', array('as' => 'group', 'uses' => 'groups@show')); And the URL I would like to use, http://www.example.com/groups/1 I would like to be able to use the (:any) value in my controller. My controller looks like class Groups_Controller extends Base_Controller { public $restful = true; public function get_show($groupID) { return 'I am group id ' . $groupID; } } How is this possible to do? I have tried a few things including the following Route::get('groups/(:any)', array('as' => 'group', 'uses' => 'groups@show((:1))')); but it did not work. UPDATE Anytime I try to pass in the arguments as show above i get a 404 error. Thanks for the help!

  • Excel VBA: Passing a collection from a class to a module issue

    - by Martin
Hello, I have been trying to return a collection from a property within a class to a routine in a normal module. The issue I am experiencing is that the collection is getting populated correctly within the property in the class (FetchAll) but when I pass the collection back to the module (Test) all the entries are populated with the last item in the list. This is the Test sub-routine in the standard module: Sub Test() Dim QueryType As New QueryType Dim Item Dim QueryTypes As Collection Set QueryTypes = QueryType.FetchAll For Each Item In QueryTypes Debug.Print Item.QueryTypeID, _ Left(Item.Description, 4) Next Item End Sub This is the FetchAll property in the QueryType class: Public Property Get FetchAll() As Collection Dim RS As Variant Dim Row As Long Dim QTypeList As Collection Set QTypeList = New Collection RS = .Run ' populates RS with a record set from a database (as an array), ' some code removed ' goes through the array and sets up objects for each entry For Row = LBound(RS, 2) To UBound(RS, 2) Dim QType As New QueryType With QType .QueryTypeID = RS(0, Row) .Description = RS(1, Row) .Priority = RS(2, Row) .QueryGroupID = RS(3, Row) .ActiveIND = RS(4, Row) End With ' adds new QType to collection QTypeList.Add Item:=QType, Key:=CStr(RS(0, Row)) Debug.Print QTypeList.Item(QTypeList.Count).QueryTypeID, _ Left(QTypeList.Item(QTypeList.Count).Description, 4) Next Row Set FetchAll = QTypeList End Property This is the output I get from the debug in FetchAll: 1 Numb 2 PBM 3 BPM 4 Bran 5 Claw 6 FA C 7 HNW 8 HNW 9 IFA 10 Manu 11 New 12 Non 13 Numb 14 Repo 15 Sell 16 Sms 17 SMS 18 SWPM This is the output I get from the debug in Test: 18 SWPM 18 SWPM 18 SWPM 18 SWPM 18 SWPM 18 SWPM 18 SWPM 18 SWPM 18 SWPM 18 SWPM 18 SWPM 18 SWPM 18 SWPM 18 SWPM 18 SWPM 18 SWPM 18 SWPM 18 SWPM Anyone got any ideas? I am probably totally overlooking something! Thanks, Martin
