  • Stop multiple sessions accessing the same file simultaneously

    Is it possible to lock a file to stop it being opened while GD library is accessing it? What I am looking to achieve is similar to a database 'serialzable' level of isolation... I want to ensure that only one session/user can access an image at a time to stop a 'dirty read'. May application allows users to add an image of choice to a bigger image. for example the big image is empty Raj & Janet upload their images Raj's session opens the big image. 1 ms later Janet's session opens the big image. Raj's session add's his image and saves the big image 1 ms later Janet's session adds his image and saves its version of the big image. As a result Raj's image is not in the final image as Janet's version overwrote it. I hope that makes it clear enough.

    I have the following code in a JPanel class which is added to a another class (JFrame). What I'm trying to implement is some sort of a stopwatch program. startBtn.addActionListener(new startListener()); class startListener implements ActionListener { public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) { Timer time = new Timer(); time.scheduleAtFixedRate(new Stopwatch(), 1000, 1000); } } This is another class which basically the task. public class Stopwatch extends TimerTask { private final double start = System.currentTimeMillis(); public void run() { double curr = System.currentTimeMillis(); System.out.println((curr - start) / 1000); } } The timer works fine and this is definitely far from complete but I'm not sure how to code the stop button which should stop the timer. Any advice on this? BTW I'm using java.util.timer

  • jQuery .animate chains, callbacks, and .stop(true, true)

    So I have a animation chain (.animate().animate().animate()), and on the last .animate(), there is a callback to do some clean-up. The animation is triggered by the hash in the address changing (#page1, #page2, etc.) -- so when the user changes the history state rapidly, if there is a currently executing animation, it needs to stop so they don't queue up. The problem is, if I add a .stop(true, true), it appears only to jump to end of the currently running animation -- and executes only its callback, if there is one. What I need is for it to jump to the end of all of the chained animations, and fire all of the callbacks (well, really just the last one). Is this possible somehow? Huge thanks.

    I using url to request remote urls that sometimes may very slow or just down. In this case, my php scripts still waiting for the response, it makes apache has to many requests stay in memory and then overload. I need a way to stop curl requesting or stop running php script when specified time passed. I'd tried declare(), it makes no sense for curl. Can someone know how to solve it? BTW: what is the effect of CURLOPT_CONNECTTIMEOUT and CURLOPT_TIMEOUT? They don't work like what I think.

  • How can I stop my application?

    I have the main thread from which I start a window using invokeLater. I run my application from command line. So, when application is running I see the window and my command line is "blocked" by the application. I can stop the application either by closing the window (as a result the command line is unblocked) or by typing Ctrl-C in the command line (as a result the window disappear). I wanted to be able to stop the application by clicking on a button in the window of the application. I used setVisible(false) for that. But in this way I can achieve the goal only partially. My window really disappear but the command line is still blocked. So, the software is still running. Well, I assume it's because some other threads are still running. But how can I easily close all these threads (like I do by closing the window of the application manually).

    let say i have send email program which need to run arround 7 hours. but i cant open the browser for 7 hours beside cronjob, ignore_user_abort() will it be a solution? will the script stop when all email has sent and the program has finish the loop? or it will keep eating the server memory? some people said u may need to add some output at the end of the program to avoid the program run forever? and some people also said echo a litte bit string will not stop the script, but has to use ob_flush, any example for this?

  • Bulk stop watching tickets on Lighthouse?

    Via the Lighthouse user interface, is there any way to bulk stop watching tickets? I have more than 150 tickets on a project I want to stop watching, and would just as soon not go into each and every one of them. I thought the bulk edit command might work, but there doesn't appear to be a watch keyword in the bulk edit stuff (which is fair enough, I'm not really editing the tickets). When I go to my profile, I can subscribe or unsubscribe to an entire project, but I'm not seeing a way to do this at the (bulk) ticket level. Looking at a list of the tickets I'm watching, I'm not seeing a way to do anything to all of them (other than the bulk edit command of course). Is there something I'm missing?

The flow is as follows, suppose I have an application app.exe, and another application another.exe, so i have to do following: 1) Start app.exe 2) Stop/shutdown app.exe and start another.exe from app.exe 3) When another.exe completes, stop/shutdown another.exe and start app.exe from another.exe Anyone please provide me some clue of how to do it ? If I use JSP Documents (or JSP 2.0) and If I put a TAG without a BODY it is automaticly closed I dont want that. so If I have <div id=....> </div> it is automaticly converted to <div id=.../> How I can stop this ? I am using tomcat is there any configuration about that ? P.S. the reason to want to stop it is because it simple "fuckes" the JQuery stuffs that the designer company are using.

    I have a ASP.NET application which implements a custom in-memory cache. I'm using this as opposed to ASP.NET's caching mechanism as I needed a more complex way to handle what to drop from the cache. Part of this custom cache is a separate thread which occasionally searches for data to drop from the cache whenever it gets too large. What I need to do is signal this cache maintenance thread to stop whenever the ASP.NET application 'exits'. I guess this basically amounts to when the web site is stopped in IIS. Is there a pre-existing event I can utilise to do this? Thanks.

    I have a basic perl HTTP server using HTTP::Daemon. When I stop and start the script, it appears that the port is still being listened on and I get an error message saying that my HTTP::Daemon instance is undefined. If I try to start the script about a minute after it has stopped, it works fine and can bind to the port again.   • Stop sign icon in VS2005 Express solution explorer

    What does a small stop sign icon on a file in solution explorer mean? Someone asked the same question a year ago Original Question but the answer provided is of no help. The icon looks like this: Suffice to say that the sign is not one presented in the VS documentation and is a UK Stop sign (red circle with a white horizontal bar) not a US one. The project is WebKit and the build process cannot find AuthenticationCF.h even though the file is present. I presume the sign might shed some light on this. Thanks, Andy

In my Movie class, I should have something like this. Sub Stop() 'code here needed for the Stop subroutine End Sub However, I can't use "Stop" as name as this is a reserved word. I see a VB code that has "Stop" as one of the method. Unfortunately, the code is protected so I can't view it. How can I name a subroutine as "Stop"?

  • HTML5 media loading sometimes suspends or aborts: misconfigured Apache?

    Recently, some code that has been working fine for months started to run unexpectedly. That code is just a media files loading JavaScript function, that uses jQuery. It's pretty long, but in essence it is like this: var $audio=$('<audio>'); $audio.on('canplaythrough',function(e){ $audio[0].play(); }); $audio.attr('src','song.ogg'); Basically, the file only loads sometimes, and sometimes stops loading with a suspend or even an abort event. I have uploaded a little testing HTML to http://www.joanbotella.com/tests/loading , where you can see what's happening. You can download the test files from http://www.joanbotella.com/tests/loading/loadingTest.zip for local testing. I have just checked that opening the test index.html file directly into Firefox, and not through my localhost Apache server, makes the audio files perfectly playable. So, I assume, my hosting and I have the Apache server misconfigured for serving media files. My software versions are: Apache 2.2.22-1ubuntu1.7 , Mozilla Firefox 31.0 , Chromium 36.0.1985.125 and jQuery 1.11.0. Can you help me? Thanks in advance!

  • UIWebView not loading URL when URL is passed from UITableView

    Hey Everyone, So i'm building a webView into my application to show the contents of a URL that I am passing from a selection in a UITableView. I know the UIWebView is loading content properly because if you hard code say http://www.google.ca into the NSURL then it loads fine, however when I'm passing the URL that I parsed from an RSS feed back from the UITableView it won't load the URL properly. I tried the debugger and the URL is coming out as nil right before I try and parse it, however I can use NSLog to print the value of it out to the console. here's the code in my UIViewController that has my UIWebView #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> @interface ReadFeedWebViewController : UIViewController { NSString *urlToGet; IBOutlet UIWebView *webView; } @property(nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet UIWebView *webView; @property(nonatomic, retain) NSString *urlToGet; @end Here's the code for my implementation's viewDidLoad method... // Implement viewDidLoad to do additional setup after loading the view, typically from a nib. - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; NSLog(@"Url inside Web View Controller - %@", urlToGet); NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:urlToGet]; NSURLRequest *requestObj = [NSURLRequest requestWithURL:url]; [self.webView loadRequest:requestObj]; } Once again, I can print the URL to NSLog fine and if I hard code the URL into the NSURL object then it will load fine in the UIWebView.     I'm building a 4 layered ASP.Net web application. The layers are: Data Layer Entity Layer Business Layer UI Layer The entity layer has my data model classes and is built from my entity data model (edmx file) in the datalayer using T4 templates (POCO). The entity layer is referenced in all other layers. My data layer has a class called SourceKeyRepository which has a function like so: public IEnumerable<SourceKey> Get(SourceKey sk) { using (dmc = new DataModelContainer()) { var query = from SourceKey in dmc.SourceKeys select SourceKey; if (sk.sourceKey1 != null) { query = from SourceKey in query where SourceKey.sourceKey1 == sk.sourceKey1 select SourceKey; } return query; } } Lazy loading is disabled since I do not want my queries to run in other layers of this application. I'm receiving the following error when attempting to access the information in the UI layer: The ObjectContext instance has been disposed and can no longer be used for operations that require a connection. I'm sure this is because my DataModelContainer "dmc" was disposed. How can I return this IEnumerable object from my data layer so that it does not rely on the ObjectContext, but solely on the DataModel? Is there a way to limit lazy loading to only occur in the data layer?

  • Memory leak while asynchronously loading BitmapSource images

    I have a fair few images that I'm loading into a ListBox in my WPF application. Originally I was using GDI to resize the images (the originals take up far too much memory). That was fine, except they were taking about 400ms per image. Not so fine. So in search of another solution I found a method that uses TransformedBitmap (which inherits from BitmapSource). That's great, I thought, I can use that. Except I'm now getting memory leaks somewhere... I'm loading the images asynchronously using a BackgroundWorker like so: BitmapSource bs = ImageUtils.ResizeBitmapSource(ImageUtils.GetImageSource(photo.FullName)); //BitmapSource bs = ImageUtils.GetImageSource(photo.FullName); bs.Freeze(); this.dispatcher.Invoke(new Action(() => { photo.Source = bs; })); GetImageSource just gets the Bitmap from the path and then converts to BitmapSource. Here's the code snippet for ResizeBitmapSource: const int thumbnailSize = 200; int width; int height; if (bs.Width > bs.Height) { width = thumbnailSize; height = (int)(bs.Height * thumbnailSize / bs.Width); } else { height = thumbnailSize; width = (int)(bs.Width * thumbnailSize / bs.Height); } BitmapSource tbBitmap = new TransformedBitmap(bs, new ScaleTransform(width / bs.Width, height / bs.Height, 0, 0)); return tbBitmap; That code is essentially the code from: http://rongchaua.net/blog/c-wpf-fast-image-resize/ Any ideas what could be causing the leak?

    I'm looking for a clean way to asynchronously load the following types of javascript files: a "core" js file (hmm, let's just call it, oh i don't know, "jquery!" haha), x number of js files that are dependent on the "core" js file being loaded, and y number of other unrelated js files. I have a couple ideas of how to go about it, but not sure what the best way is. I'd like to avoid loading scripts in the document body. So for example, I want the following 4 javascript files to load asynchronously, appropriately named: /js/my-contact-page-js-functions.js // unrelated/independent script /js/jquery-1.3.2.min.js // the "core" script /js/jquery.color.min.js // dependent on jquery being loaded http://thirdparty.com/js/third-party-tracking-script.js // another unrelated/independent script But this won't work because it's not guaranteed that jQuery is loaded before the color plugin... (function() { a=[ '/js/my-contact-page-functions.js', '/js/jquery-1.4.2.min.js', '/js/jquery.color.js', 'http://cdn.thirdparty.com/third-party-tracking-script.js', ], d=document, h=d.getElementsByTagName('head')[0], s, i, l=a.length; for(i=0;i<l;i++){ s=d.createElement('script'); s.type='text/javascript'; s.async=true; s.src=a[i]; h.appendChild(s); } })(); Is it pretty much not possible to load jquery and the color plugin asynchronously? (Since the color plugin requires that jQuery is loaded first.) The first method I was considering is to just combine the color plugin script with jQuery source into one file. Then another idea I had was loading the color plugin like so: $(window).ready(function() { $.getScript("/js/jquery.color.js"); }); Anyone have any thoughts on how you'd go about this? Thanks!

The map is not showed, while other pages containing scripts, loaded in the same way, are correctly shown. Is this a specific issue about GMaps, that doesn't allow to be loaded via an ajax request?
