We're running on ASP.NET 3.5 on Windows Server 2008. This seems to happen in batches affecting some but not all of sites on the same App Pool. We have a large number of sites all running the same code. Once a site has failed to load a DLL it throws up a Yellow Screen of Death until the next App Pool recycle. We haven't been able to reproduce this behavior and the sites seem to work fine for days or weeks at a time (and many App Pool recycles) before failing. Has anybody else seen similar behavior? Update: We've tried reproducing the failure by setting up a few hundred sites and writing a script to hit them repeatedly while recycling the App Pool once every couple of minutes and were unable to accomplish much other than loading down the server's CPU for a few days straight. We then tried messing (locking one of the DLLs, changing the file permissions) with the copies of the DLLs that ASP.NET makes and managed to reproduce similar behavior but not the same exception. Does anybody have any ideas on how to adjust the security policy to get it to throw a System.Security.Policy.PolicyException: Execution permission cannot be acquired. when loading a specific DLL?

• using Windows Script Host

  Hello, I am using windows script host for some kind of installer application and I'm creating shortcuts in start menu with it. This problem came up when I switched to x64 environment (win7 ultimate x64+vs2010) I added a reference to Windows Script Host Object Model (from c:\windows\syswow64\wshom.ocx), it generated Interop.IWshRuntimeLibrary dll. I added 'using IWshRuntimeLibrary;' to my .cs files, but when I tried to create WshShell sh = new WshShellClass(); it throws an exception: Could not load file or assembly 'Interop.IWshRuntimeLibrary, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format. I assume that I would need 64-bit version of that wshom.ocx for this to work, but I don't know what should I try. Or I'll just dump Windows Script stuff, but I need another way to create start menu shortcuts from .net application. Thanks

• When is Visual Studio 2010 expected to RTM?

  Microsoft originally slated the final release build for April 12, 2010. Somasegar said the Visual Studio 2010 and .NET Framework 4 releases will now be pushed back "a few weeks." I know the version / product name says "2010", but that doesn't necessarily mean that it will RTM in 2010. After all VS'2008 RTM'd in November 2007. The last Beta of VS'2008 came out in July 2007, and it RTM'd in November. So based on the previous version that places VS'2010 to RTM in September 2010 at the very earliest since the first Beta just came out in May. Anyone have any other speculations?

• Resolving MSB3247 - Found conflicts between different versions of the same dependent assembly

  A .NET 3.5 solution ended up with this warning when compiling with msbuild. Sometimes NDepend might help out but in this case it didn't give any further details. Like Bob I ended up having to resort to opening each assembly in ILDASM until I found the one that was referencing an older version of the dependant assembly. I did try using MSBUILD from VS 2010 Beta 2 (as the Connect article indicated this was fixed in the next version of the CLR) but that didn't provide any more detail either (maybe fixed post Beta 2) Is there a better (more automated) approach?

• Convert xml as string

  i have a scenario where in i need to send an xml as a tag content in a SOAP request message to a webservice for example <arg_1><xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><sometag><somemoretag>abcd</somemoretag></sometag></arg_1></code> arg_1 happens to be an String parameter to a webservice. So i bring in a CDATA section for this <arg_1><![CDATA[<xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><sometag><somemoretag>abcd</somemoretag></sometag>]]></arg_1> But this keeps throwing me an exception org.xml.sax.SAXException: WSWS3084E: Error: SimpleDeserializer encountered a child element, which is NOT expected, in something it was trying to deserialize. Message being parsed: I keep getting this exception. Has anyone seen this before??

• Symfony2: automatically logging in users from their Windows session

  In Symfony2 I have built an intranet. It currently uses the FOSUserBundle and an LDAP bundle to log users in, and I would like to add the functionality to log in user from their session in Windows. I found an NTLM script for PHP and an updated version of it, but I haven't been able to incorporate them into Symfony2. I also found an NTLM bundle for Symfony2, but it was written for an older version of Symfony and it is not maintained anymore. I was unable to rewrite it and get it to work. My question is; how could I automatically log in users from their Windows session in my Symfony2-app, in addition to the already present LDAP functionality? What would be the best and easiest way?

I am creating a DataGenerationPlan to insert data into a simple table, in which one of the column datatypes is XML. • StructureMap : How to define default constructor by code ?

  Hi, I can't figure out how to define the default constructor (when it exists overloads) for a type in StructureMap (version 2.5) by code. I want to get an instance of a service and the container has to inject a Linq2Sql data context instance into it. I wrote this in my 'bootstrapper' method : ForRequestedType<MyDataContext>().TheDefault.Is.OfConcreteType<MyDataContext>(); When I run my app, I got this error : StructureMap Exception Code: 202 No Default Instance defined for PluginFamily MyNamespace.Data.SqlRepository.MyDataContext, MyNamespace.Data, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null If I comment out all Linq2Sql generated contructors that I don't need, it works fine. Update : Oh, and I forgot to say that I would not use the [StructureMap.DefaultConstructor] attribute.

• How get Tomahawk functionality with JSF 2.0 (Glassfish V3)

  I've started to upgrade an existing application written with JSF 1.1 and MyFaces Tomahawk 1.1 to JSF 2.0 to get facelets etc. I've now run into the snag that apparently Tomahawk is not JSF 2.0 compatible as it expects the stand-alone version of Facelets instead of the built-in to JSF 2.0 with the following error: org.apache.catalina.LifecycleException: com.sun.faces.config.ConfigurationException: CONFIGURATION FAILED! com.sun.facelets.tag.jsf.ComponentHandler (it appears to be placed in javax.faces.view.facelets now). I have looked around and there doesn't seem to be a JSF 2.0 facelet compatible version of Tomahawk. I only believe I need t:updateActionListener (inside t:dataTable) and the rowSpan facility of t:panelGroup. Is all this functionality available in JSF 2.0 directly, or must I locate a new library giving this? Any suggestions?

Pressing on, I go back to AllItems.aspx and click New Meeting Minutes. As Word is loading, I see a little Opening dialog which says, Opening: http://myserver/sites/testsite/Shared%20Documents/Forms/Document/MeetingMinutes.docx, to which Word responds: "Word was unable to read this document. It may be corrupt." So the Document Template works correctly in the Site Content Type (where it does me no good), but is not working in the List Content Type (where I really need it). Now, I know I could put this in _layouts, but from what I've read, _cts is the way to do it. What am I doing wrong?

• How is the best way to write a SOAP 1.2 Client with Delphi Win32

  So far, no Delphi version supports SOAP 1.2 clients or server. I have tried for weeks to make it works, but every time a new problem, with VS/C# I could do the same, and make works in 3 days, but I need to do with Delphi 2009. "I write a new version using Rem Objects SDK,", but the result was not better that I had with Delphi SOAP library. But I'm wondering what choice else do I have, which library/component full support SOAP 1.2? I found a message from Bruneau, suggesting Pocket SOAP http://www.pocketsoap.com/pocketsoap/ I dont know how this works, Ill investigate and see what I can do.

Here's the situation: I can run Report Builder from localhost My coworker can run Report Builder on his Vista computer Another coworker can run Report Builder on his XP SP3 computer (IE7) I can NOT run Report Builder on my XP SP3 computer (IE7) I'm told that it could be anything from an errant registry entry to a group policy problem. Im used to designing and building templates for drupal, wordpress and joomla. All of which have great documentation and many tutorials built by the community. But vBulletin although claimed as the best forum software on the internet, is missing any form of documentation worth reading. The only thing I can find to help me rebuild this monster is www.vbulletin.com/docs/ Does anyone know of a set of tutorials or any documentation which would help me: Configure a good solid working version? • OpenSwan IPsec connection drops after 30 seconds

  I'm trying to connection from my Linux Mint 16 box to a CloudStack server. Building up the connection works (pings work across the tunnel). However 30 seconds later the IPsec tunnel gets terminated out of the blue. What could cause this consistent behaviour and how to fix it? The tunnel is setup using OpenSwan (U2.6.38/K(no kernel code presently loaded)) with the L2TP IPsec VPN manager from Werner Jaeger 1.0.9. The client is behind a NAT'ed router and the server is on public IP (CloudStack 4.2) Running ipsec verify complains about IPsec support in kernel. I have some Classic ASP with include headers like the following referencing MDAC 2.5: METADATA TYPE="TypeLib" NAME="Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects 2.5 Library" UUID="{00000205-0000-0010-8000-00AA006D2EA4}" VERSION="2.5" Now I am trying to call this same include file on a Windows 2008 box with IIS 7 using MDAC 2.8 with this: METADATA TYPE="typelib" NAME="Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects 2.8 Library" UUID="{2A75196C-D9EB-4129-B803-931327F72D5C}" VERSION="2.8" My question is, why does this not work anymore? • m2eclipse workspace resolution

  Hi all, I am using m2eclipse for managing maven projects in eclipse. It seems that in the previous release that I was using (0.9.8) the workspace resolution did not work at all, but right now it also does not work quite as I would expect. Namely, when the "resolve dependencied from workspace" setting for a project is not checked, the project turns red and cannot be build. The message says: artifact xxx x.y-SNAPSHOT cannot be found int local repository (or something to that extent). The trouble is that m2eclipse is putting information about workspace project into my local repo. Is there a way to change this behaviour? P.S. The workaround for this is to close the xxx project, then m2eclipse resolved the dependency to whatever version I've had previously in the local repository (i.e. the non-snapshot version).

  Has anyone used Watir with IronRuby successfully? I am getting an error that the required file 'Watir' was not found. What path do I need to set to get this file to work in IronRuby? For some reason my igem command is not working: C:\DevTools\IronRuby\ironruby\Merlin\Main\Languages\Ruby\Scripts\binigem instal l watir '"C:\DevTools\IronRuby\ironruby\Merlin\Main\Languages\Ruby\Scripts\bin\ir.exe"' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. I am using 0.9 version of Ironruby. I remember that in 0.9 you have to indicate the ir tool: I used the following and got the error again! • Recommendations on resolving a cs1705 error

  I'm upgrading a number of solutions from Visual Studio 2008 to Visual Studio 2010RC. In the process of doing this, I've encountered two instances of compiler error cs1705, one for System.Core and another for System.Data.Linq. In each case, an assembly compiled earlier has a reference to the .NET 4.0 version of these system assemblies, while the web project I'm trying to compile only has references to the .NET 3.5 version of them. Adding .NET 4.0 versions of System.Core and System.Data.Linq to the web project doesn't resolve the error. Removing the .NET 3.5 versions of the assemblies so that only the .NET 4.0 versions remain results in even more errors. Any recommendations on how to resolve this error would be greatly appreciated.

• Zend Studio Intellisense + zend Framework

  Hi. I've got a very annoying problem with my Zend studio. I have a zend framework project I am working on. The actual zend framework code is inside my project (in library folder) and then ZS seems to reference to its own version of zend framework. As the result, I get 2 versions of the same function/class in my intellisense which is annoying to say the least. Today I had the last drop of patience with zend studio when I showed 4 copies of the same class (imagine what's its like looking at a large namespace times 4!). So, how do I remove all references inside ZS to its own version of ZF? Thanks!
