  As you may or may not be aware as of jQuery 1.7 the whole event system was rewritten from the ground up. The codebase is much faster and with the new .on() method there is a lot of uniformity to wiring up event handlers. One used to be able to access the internal events data and investiate what events are registered on any given element, but recently this internal information has been hidden based on the following scenario... It seems that the "private" data is ALWAYS stored on the .data(jQuery.expando) - For "objects" where the deletion of the object should also delete its caches this makes some sense. In the realm of nodes however, I think we should store these "private" members in a separate (private) cache so that they don't pollute the object returned by $.fn.data()" Although I agree with the above change to hide the internal data, I have found having access to this information can be helpful for debugging and unit testing. What was the new way of getting the internal jquery event object in jQuery 1.7?

I know there are many methods that take events such as -(void)mouseMoved:(NSEvent*)event or - (void)mouseClicked:(NSEvent*)event My algorithm to determine what to do is ready. I want to know where I should update the main view: is it in the -(void)mouseMoved:(NSEvent*)event or in the - (void)drawRect:(NSRect)dirtyRect. • How to get new logs in an EventLogEntyCollection?

  I need to monitor security event logs on very busy domain controllers, which generates hundreds of them each minute. I know how to use EventLog, EventLogEntry and EvenLogEntryCollection to open and read a server's event log, but an EvenLogEntryCollection can contain ~300.000 events, and it wraps around continuously (and very fast), so I can't rely on its index to find new entries. So far, the only thing I was able to come up with is saving the timestamp of the last processed log entry and then iterate above the EventLogEntryCollection until I find an EventLogEntry which TimeGenerated properties is greater than the timestamp I saved; but it's terribly slow to iterate on ~300.000 entries to find the new ones. How can I quickly find the new entries in an big event log?

I know from debugging that es isn't null.   I'm new to learning Windows Programming with C#. My current assignment is to create a very simple bank account program: The user enters the accountholder name, account number and beginning balance, then presses a "Continue" button to work with that account by making deposits and withdrawals. I wrote a separate "BankAccount" class with the required data members and methods. I've put the code for the creation of the BankAccount object in the Continue button click event BankAccount currentAccount = new BankAccount(acctName, acctNum, beginningBalance); But that seems to make it local to that method only, and currentAccount is not recognized when I'm programming the click event for the "Record Transactions" (deposits and withdrawals) button. How and where should the creation of the BankAccount object be coded in order for it to be created when the "Continue" button is clicked and also recognized in the "Record Transactions" button click event? Please let me know if any clarification is needed, or if you need to see part or all of my code.

• Which parallel sorting algorithm has the best average case performance?

  Sorting takes O(n log n) in the serial case. If we have O(n) processors we would hope for a linear speedup. O(log n) parallel algorithms exist but they have a very high constant. They also aren't applicable on commodity hardware which doesn't have anywhere near O(n) processors. With p processors, reasonable algorithms should take O(n/p log n/p) time. In the serial case, quick sort has the best runtime complexity on average. A parallel quick sort algorithm is easy to implement (see here and here). However it doesn't perform well since the very first step is to partition the whole collection on a single core. I have found information on many parallel sort algorithms but so far I have not seen anything pointing to a clear winner. I'm looking to sort lists of 1 million to 100 million elements in a JVM language running on 8 to 32 cores.

  I have a collection of span elements. In the code I have a global variable that represents the "selected" object. Using the click event when a span is clicked I reset the object's class, reset the global variable, then set the object to the variable and change its class (to make it "highlighted"). • C# Why is a treeview node clicked when canceled is set to true?

  In my winform application I have a treeview. To give the idea that a node is disabled I set the node's forecolor and I when the BeforeSelect fires I set e.cancel to true. However when a node's tag meets some criteria a node may be selected. So that's why I have a NodeMouseClick. But when a node may not be clicked I set the e.cancel to true in the BeforeSelect event. The problem now is, the NodeMousClick event is always fired and all the code is ececuted, even when I set e.cancel to true in the BeforeSelect event. Why is that?

• High CPU - What to do.

  I have a high CPU problem with MYSQL using "top" ( linux ) shows cpu peaks of 90%. I was trying to find the source of the problem, turned on general log and slow query log, The slow query log did not find anything. The Db contains a few small tables and one large table that contains almost 100k rows, Database Engine is MyIsam. strange thing i have noticed that on the large table, select, insert are very fast but update takes 0.2 - 0.5 secs. already used optimize and repair and no improvement. the table is being updated frequently, could this be the source of the high CPU% ? What can i do to improve this?

  I'd like to run an Android background service that will act as a keylistener from the home screen or when the phone is asleep. Is this possible? I'm using os.kill to do this: os.killpg(selenium_server_process.pid, signal.SIGTERM) selenium_server_process.wait() This does not work. The reason is that the shell subprocess spawns another processfor the java program, and the pid of that process is unknown to my python code. I've tried killing the process group with os.killpg, but that kills also the python process which runs this code in the first place. Setting shell to false, thus avoiding the java program to run inside a shell environment, is also out of the question, due to other reasons. Does anyone have an idea how I can kill the shell and any other processes generated by it? Cheers, Ulas

Rerun the transaction. I am wondering whether such messages are stored in log files? I searched log folder of my SQL Server 2008 installation root (in my environment, it is C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\Log), but can not find such files. thanks in advance, George

I now need to implement some logging feature that will display log messages on the screen as well as log to a file. However, I don't want to display all log messages (warning, error, critical, unrecoverable, debug, etc). Maybe I can set so that it will display just errors and nothing else. For example, the user might not be interested in the debug messages on the screen output.

• prevent onmouseout when hovering child element of the parent absolute div

  Hi I am having trouble with the onmouseout function in a absolute positoned div. When the mouse hits a child element in the div, the mouseout event fires, but I do not want it to fire until the mouse is out of the parent, absolute div. How can I prevent the mouseout event from firing when it hits a child element WITHOUT jquery. I know this has something to do with event bubbling, but I am having no luck on finding out how to work this out. A similar post I found here: How to disable mouseout events triggered by child elements? How ever that solution uses jquery.
