  • Same Activity called twice... Issue with Multiple AsyncTasks?

    - by stormin986
I have three simultaneous instances of an AsyncTask for download three files. When two particular ones finish, at the end of onPostExecute() I check a flag set by each, and if both are true, I call startActivity() for the next Activity. I am currently seeing the activity called twice, or something that resembles this type of behavior. Since the screen does that 'swipe left' kind of transition to the next activity, it sometimes does it twice (and when I hit back, it goes back to the same activity). It's obvious two versions of the activity that SHOULD only get called once are being put on the Activity stack. Could this be from both onPostExecute()s executing simultaneously and both checking the flags each other set at the exact same time? This seems extremely unlikely since two processes would have to be running line-by-line in parallel... *EDIT* A lot removed from this question since I was way off in what I thought was wrong. Nonetheless I found the answer here quite useful, so I have edited the question to reflect the useful parts.

  • When using Dependency Injection with StructureMap how do I chooose among multiple constructors?

    - by Mark Rogers
I'm trying to get structuremap to build Fluent Nhibernate's SessionSource object for some of my intregration tests. The only problem is that Fluent's concrete implementation of ISessionSource (SessionSource) has 3 constructors: public SessionSource(PersistenceModel model) { Initialize(new Configuration().Configure(), model); } public SessionSource(IDictionary<string, string> properties, PersistenceModel model) { Initialize(new Configuration().AddProperties(properties), model); } public SessionSource(FluentConfiguration config) { configuration = config.Configuration; sessionFactory = config.BuildSessionFactory(); dialect = Dialect.GetDialect(configuration.Properties); } I've tried configuring my ObjectFactory supplying an argument for the first constructor but it seems like it wants to try the second one. How do I configure my ObjectFactory so that I can choose the first constructor or perhaps even another one if I decide to use that?

  • Same address, multiple shared_ptr counters, is it forbidden by C++ standard?

    - by icando
Suppose I have some needs to do the following (This is just some imaginative code for discussion of the C++ standard, thus I won't discuss why I design it this way, so don't bother me something like: your design is wrong.) T* ptr = new T; shared_ptr<T> p(ptr); shared_ptr<T> q(ptr, SomeDeleterThatDoesnotDeleteButDoSomeOtherStuff()); Suppose the logic guarantees that p or some of its copies lives longer than any copies of q, so practically there won't be any problem. My question is, is it forbidden by C++ standard, e.g. explicitly stated as UB by C++ standard, that different shared_ptr counters share the same address? Thanks.

  • How to display multiple categories and products underneath each category?

    - by shin
Generally there is a category menu and each link to a category page where shows all the items under that category. Now I need to show all the categories and products underneath with PHP/MySQL in the same page. So it will be like this. Category 1 description of category 1 item 1 item 2 .. Category 2 description of category 2 item 5 item 6 .. Category 3 description of category 3 item 8 item 9 ... ... I have category and product table in my database. But I am not sure how to proceed. CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `omc_product` ( `id` int(11) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, `name` varchar(255) NOT NULL, `shortdesc` varchar(255) NOT NULL, `longdesc` text NOT NULL, `thumbnail` varchar(255) NOT NULL, `image` varchar(255) NOT NULL, `product_order` int(11) DEFAULT NULL, `class` varchar(255) DEFAULT NULL, `grouping` varchar(16) DEFAULT NULL, `status` enum('active','inactive') NOT NULL, `category_id` int(11) NOT NULL, `featured` enum('none','front','webshop') NOT NULL, `other_feature` enum('none','most sold','new product') NOT NULL, `price` float(7,2) NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`id`) ) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 AUTO_INCREMENT=2 ; CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `omc_category` ( `id` int(11) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, `name` varchar(255) NOT NULL, `shortdesc` varchar(255) NOT NULL, `longdesc` text NOT NULL, `status` enum('active','inactive') NOT NULL, `parentid` int(11) NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`id`) ) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 AUTO_INCREMENT=2 ; I will appreciate your help. Thanks in advance.

  • How to store and echo multiple lines elegantly in bash?

    - by EmpireJones
I'm trying to capture a block of text into a variable, with newlines maintained, then echo it. However, the newlines don't seemed to be maintained when I am either capturing the text or displaying it. Any ideas regarding how I can accomplish this? Example: #!/bin/bash read -d '' my_var <<"BLOCK" this is a test BLOCK echo $my_var Output: this is a test Desired output: this is a test

  • Why does multiple calls to xalloc result in delayed output?

    - by Me myself and I
    When I print the id of a stream in a single expression it prints it backwards. Normally this is what comes out: std::stringstream ss; std::cout << ss.xalloc() << '\n'; std::cout << ss.xalloc() << '\n'; std::cout << ss.xalloc(); Output is: 4 5 6 But when I do it in one expression it prints backwards, why? std::stringstream ss; std::cout << ss.xalloc() << '\n' << ss.xalloc() << '\n' << ss.xalloc(); Output: 6 5 4 I know the order of evaluation is unspecified but then why does the following always result in the correct order: std::cout << 4 << 5 << 6; Can someone explain why xalloc behaves differently? Thanks.

  • Multiple calculations on the same set of data: ruby or database?

    - by Pierre
Hi, I have a model Transaction for which I need to display the results of many calculations on many fields for a subset of transactions. I've seen 2 ways to do it, but am not sure which is the best. I'm after the one that will have the least impact in terms of performance when data set grows and number of concurrent users increases. data[:total_before] = Transaction.where(xxx).sum(:amount_before) data[:total_after] = Transaction.where(xxx).sum(:amount_after) ... or transactions = Transaction.where(xxx) data[:total_before]= transactions.inject(0) {|s, e| s + e.amount_before } data[:total_after]= transactions.inject(0) {|s, e| s + e.amount_after } ... Which one should I choose? (or is there a 3rd, better way?) Thanks, P.

  • Multiple (variant) arguments overloading in Java: What's the purpose?

    - by fortran
    Browsing google's guava collect library code, I've found the following: // Casting to any type is safe because the list will never hold any elements. @SuppressWarnings("unchecked") public static <E> ImmutableList<E> of() { return (ImmutableList<E>) EmptyImmutableList.INSTANCE; } public static <E> ImmutableList<E> of(E element) { return new SingletonImmutableList<E>(element); } public static <E> ImmutableList<E> of(E e1, E e2) { return new RegularImmutableList<E>( ImmutableList.<E>nullCheckedList(e1, e2)); } public static <E> ImmutableList<E> of(E e1, E e2, E e3) { return new RegularImmutableList<E>( ImmutableList.<E>nullCheckedList(e1, e2, e3)); } public static <E> ImmutableList<E> of(E e1, E e2, E e3, E e4) { return new RegularImmutableList<E>( ImmutableList.<E>nullCheckedList(e1, e2, e3, e4)); } public static <E> ImmutableList<E> of(E e1, E e2, E e3, E e4, E e5) { return new RegularImmutableList<E>( ImmutableList.<E>nullCheckedList(e1, e2, e3, e4, e5)); } public static <E> ImmutableList<E> of(E e1, E e2, E e3, E e4, E e5, E e6) { return new RegularImmutableList<E>( ImmutableList.<E>nullCheckedList(e1, e2, e3, e4, e5, e6)); } public static <E> ImmutableList<E> of( E e1, E e2, E e3, E e4, E e5, E e6, E e7) { return new RegularImmutableList<E>( ImmutableList.<E>nullCheckedList(e1, e2, e3, e4, e5, e6, e7)); } public static <E> ImmutableList<E> of( E e1, E e2, E e3, E e4, E e5, E e6, E e7, E e8) { return new RegularImmutableList<E>( ImmutableList.<E>nullCheckedList(e1, e2, e3, e4, e5, e6, e7, e8)); } public static <E> ImmutableList<E> of( E e1, E e2, E e3, E e4, E e5, E e6, E e7, E e8, E e9) { return new RegularImmutableList<E>( ImmutableList.<E>nullCheckedList(e1, e2, e3, e4, e5, e6, e7, e8, e9)); } public static <E> ImmutableList<E> of( E e1, E e2, E e3, E e4, E e5, E e6, E e7, E e8, E e9, E e10) { return new RegularImmutableList<E>(ImmutableList.<E>nullCheckedList( e1, e2, e3, e4, e5, e6, e7, e8, e9, e10)); } public static <E> ImmutableList<E> of( E e1, E e2, E e3, E e4, E e5, E e6, E e7, E e8, E e9, E e10, E e11) { return new RegularImmutableList<E>(ImmutableList.<E>nullCheckedList( e1, e2, e3, e4, e5, e6, e7, e8, e9, e10, e11)); } public static <E> ImmutableList<E> of( E e1, E e2, E e3, E e4, E e5, E e6, E e7, E e8, E e9, E e10, E e11, E e12, E... others) { final int paramCount = 12; Object[] array = new Object[paramCount + others.length]; arrayCopy(array, 0, e1, e2, e3, e4, e5, e6, e7, e8, e9, e10, e11, e12); arrayCopy(array, paramCount, others); return new RegularImmutableList<E>(ImmutableList.<E>nullCheckedList(array)); } And although it seems reasonable to have overloads for empty and single arguments (as they are going to use special instances), I cannot see the reason behind having all the others, when just the last one (with two fixed arguments plus the variable argument instead the dozen) seems to be enough. As I'm writing, one explanation that pops into my head is that the API pre-dates Java 1.5; and although the signatures would be source-level compatible, the binary interface would differ. Isn't it?

  • Website. VoteUp or VoteDown Videos. How to restrict users voting multiple times?

    - by DJDonaL3000
Im working on a website (html, css, javascript, ajax, php, mysql), and I want to restrict the number of times a particular user votes for a particular video. Its similar to the YouTube system where you can voteUp or voteDown a particular video. Each vote involves adding a row to the video.votes table, which logs the time, vote direction(up or down), the client IPaddress( using PHP: $ip = $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR']; ), and of course the ID of the video in question. Adding votes is as simple as; (pseudocode): Javascript:onClick( vote( a,b,c,d ) ), which passes variables to PHP insertion script via ajax, and finally we replace the voteing buttons with a "Thank You For Voting" message. THE PROBLEM: If you reload/refresh the page after voting, you can vote again, and again, and again, you get the point. MY QUESTION: How do you limit the amount of times a particular user votes for a particular video?? MY THOUGHTS: Do you use cookies, and add a new cookie with the id of the video. And check for a cookie before you insert a new vote.? OR Before you insert the vote, do you use the IPaddress and the videoID to see if this same user(IP) has voted for this same video(vidID) in the past 24hrs(mktime), and either allow or dissallow the voteInsertion based on this query? OR Do you just not care? Take the assumption that most users are sane, and have better things to do than refresh pages and vote repeatedly.?? Any suggestions or ideas welcome.

  • Is it weird or strange to make multiple WCF Calls to build a ViewModel before presenting it?

    - by Nate Bross
Am I doing something wrong if I need code like this in a Controller? Should I be doing something differently? public ActionResult Details(int id) { var svc = new ServiceClient(); var model = new MyViewModel(); model.ObjectA = svc.GetObjectA(id); model.ObjectB = svc.GetObjectB(id); model.ObjectC = svc.GetObjectC(id); return View(model); } The reason I ask, is because I've got Linq-To-Sql on the back end and a WCF Service which exposes functionality through a set of DTOs which are NOT the Linq-To-Sql generated classes and thus do not have the parent/child properties; but in the detail view, I would like to see some of the parent/child data.

  • How to use database to generate multiple folder content page?

    - by VenomVipes
Scenario :I am trying to build a Mobile Entertainment Portal. It will enable users to download Music & Movies to their Cell Phones... Problem Exp : Suppose I upload 100 folders of Songs, each folder is for one Album. I want a way to generate a page with all the folders name (Album Name) in it. If user click on the page, they should be taken to a page where they get list of all songs in the album. Clicking on any song name will let them download it. Can it be done anyway or will I have to manually design each of the 3 pages for each album. If I do that, its time consuming and also will be difficult to change anything like footer, header...

  • How to concatenate multiple lines of log file into single variable in batch file?

    - by psych
I have a log file containing a stack trace split over a number of lines. I need to read this file into a batch file and remove all of the lines breaks. As a first step, I tried this: if exist "%log_dir%\Log.log" ( for /F "tokens=*" %%a in ("%log_dir%\Log.log") do @echo %%a ) My expectation was that this would echo out each line of the log file. I was then planning to concatenate these lines together and set that value in a variable. However, this code doesn't do what I would expect. I have tried changing the value of the options for delims and tokens, but the only output I can get is the absolute path to the log file and nothing from the contents of this file. How can I set a variable to be equal to the lines of text in a file with the line breaks removed?

  • How do I strip multiple (optional) parts of a SQL string using .NET Regular Expressions?

    - by Luc
I've been working on this for a few hours now and can't find any help on it. Basically, I'm trying to strip a SQL string into various parts (fields, from, where, having, groupBy, orderBy). I refuse to believe that I'm the first person to ever try to do this, so I'd like to ask for some advise from the StackOverflow community. :) To understand what I need, assume the following SQL string: select * from table1 inner join table2 on table1.id = table2.id where field1 = 'sam' having table1.field3 > 0 group by table1.field4 order by table1.field5 I created a regular expression to group the parts accordingly: select\s+(?<fields>.+)\s+from\s+(?<from>.+)\s+where\s+(?<where>.+)\s+having\s+(?<having>.+)\s+group\sby\s+(?<groupby>.+)\s+order\sby\s+(?<orderby>.+) This gives me the following results: fields => * from => table1 inner join table2 on table1.id = table2.id where => field1 = 'sam' having => table1.field3 > 0 groupby => table1.field4 orderby => table1.field5 The problem that I'm faced with is that if any part of the SQL string is missing after the 'from' clause, the regular expression doesn't match. To fix that, I've tried putting each optional part in it's own (...)? group but that doesn't work. It simply put all the optional parts (where, having, groupBy, and orderBy) into the 'from' group. Any ideas?

  • Adding multiple items in a batch to an osCommerce site?

    - by Unkwntech
I need to add several hundred products to an osCommerce (ugh, I know, it wasn't my choice) but osCommerce doesn't have a built in method for this (or at least I couldn't find it), does anyone know where some (even half decent) documentation on HOW osCommerce stores products ('cause it certainly is not in any logical manner) can be found? Or possibly some free addon/software that will do it?

  • PHP: Is there an elegant way to foreach through multiple items (groups) at a time?

    - by acheong87
    Given an array of N items: $arr = array('a', 'b', 'c', 'd', 'e', 'f'); What's the most elegant way to loop through in groups of M items (assuming N is divisible by M)? I tried foreach (array_chunk($arr, 2) as list($first, $second)) { // do stuff with $first and $second } but this resulted in a syntax error. In other words, I want to emulate what in Tcl would look like this: set arr [a b c d e f] foreach {first second} $arr { // do stuff with $first and $second } For now I've resorted to the obvious measure: foreach (array_chunk($arr, 2) as $group) { $first = $group[0]; $second = $group[1]; // do stuff with $first and $second } But I'm hoping someone has a more elegant method...

  • Multiple XML/XSLT files in PHP, transform one with XSLT and add others but process it first with PHP

    - by ipalaus
I am processing XML files transformations with XSLT in PHP correctly. Actually I use this code: $xml = new DOMDocument; $xml->LoadXML($xml_contents); $xsl = new DOMDocument; $xsl->load($xsl_file); $proc = new XSLTProcesoor; $proc->importStyleSheet($xsl); echo $proc->transformToXml($xml); $xml_contents is the XML processed with PHP, this is done by including the XML file first and then assigning $xml_contents = ob_get_contents(); ob_end_clean();. This forces to process the PHP code on the XML, and it works perfectly. My problem is that I use more than one XML file and this XML files has PHP code on it that need to be processed AND have a XSLT file associated to process the data. Actually I'm including this files in XSLT with the next code: <!-- First I add the XML file --> <xsl:param name="menu" select="document('menu.xml')" /> <!-- Next I add the transformations for menu.xml file --> <xsl:include href="menu.xsl" /> <!-- Finally, I process it on the actual ("parent") XML --> <xsl:apply-templates select="$menu/menu" /> My questiion is how I can handle this. I need to add mutiple XML(+XSLT) files to my first XML file that will containt PHP so it needs to be processed. Thank you in advance!

  • How to: Display multiple related classes in an ASP.NET GridView ?

    - by kversch
I would like to display students and their grades with a GridView and LinqToSQL like this: assignment1 assignment2 Student 1 55 89 Student 2 87 56 Student 3 92 34 I found this topic but it doesn't answer my question: http://forums.asp.net/t/1557987.aspx I have a many-to-many relationship between students and assignments called "grades". The grade for the assignment is stored in that table in a "gradeNumber" column. I would also like to specify which assignments should be displayed in the grid. Btw, my LINQ entities are extended to allow me to write/get studentx.Assignments or assignmentx.Students.

I have a class that implements IComparable. public class MyClass : IComparable<MyClass> { public int CompareTo(MyClass c) { return this.whatever.CompareTo(c.whatever); } etc.. } I then can call the sort method of a generic list of my class List<MyClass> c = new List<MyClass>(); //Add stuff, etc. c.Sort(); and have the list sorted according to my comparer. How do i specify further comparers to sort my collection different ways according to the other properties of MyClass in order to let users sort my collection in a number of different ways?

  • "Single NSMutableArray" vs. "Multiple C-arrays" --Which is more Efficient/Practical?

    - by RexOnRoids
Situation: I have a DAY structure. The DAY structure has three variables or attributes: a Date (NSString*), a Temperature (float), and a Rainfall (float). Problem: I will be iterating through an array of about 5000 DAY structures and graphing a portion of these onto the screen using OpenGL. Question: As far as drawing performance, which is better? I could simply create an NSMutableArray of DAY structures (NSObjects) and iterate on the array on each draw call -- which I think would be hard on the CPU. Or, I could instead manually manage three different C-Arrays -- One for the Date String (2-Dimensional), One for the temperature (1-Dimensional) and One for the Rainfall (1-Dimensional). I could keep track of the current Day by referencing the current index of the iterated C-Arrays.

  • Why isn't my div scrolling horizontally when adding multiple images?

    - by George
    I have an outer div, and inside of that, I have an inner div which contains a list of images. When the images are wider than the outer div, I want to have it scroll horizontally, but instead, it just puts the image on the next line instead of expanding. If I add many rows, the div does scroll vertically, but horizontally, it doesn't do it. This happens on every browser I've tried - Firefox, Chrome, IE, and Safari. Here is the css: #grid-container { left:33px; position:relative; width:300px; } #grid { width:310px; height:400px; overflow:auto; margin-bottom: 15px; } #grid-container ul { width:305px; } #grid-container li { float:left; list-style-type:none; padding:5px 15px 5px 15px; height:88px; text-align:center; } .image-row { float:left; margin-left: 10px; } .grid-image { height:50px; margin-left:-20px; } Here is the html: <div id="grid-container"> <div id="grid"> <div id="row1" class="image-row"> <ul> <li> <img id="img1" class="grid-image" src="images/img1.jpg"> </li> <li> <img id="img2" class="grid-image" src="images/img2.jpg"> </li> <li> <img id="img3" class="grid-image" src="images/img3.jpg"> </li> <li> <img id="img4" class="grid-image" src="images/img4.jpg"> </li> </ul> </div> <div id="row1" class="image-row"> <ul> <li> <img id="img5" class="grid-image" src="images/img5.jpg"> </li> <li> <img id="img6" class="grid-image" src="images/img6.jpg"> </li> </ul> </div> </div> </div> The problem is img4 is showing on the second row (with img5 and img5 on the third row), even though it should on the first row and the grid div should scroll horizontally. It does scroll vertically. Can I force the div to expand? If I remove the width from the grid div, I do get the horizontal scroll bar, but the image is still on the second row.
