• Access DB with SQL Server Front End

  I have an old Access application that has a lot of code in forms and reports. The database is getting too large and I am thinking of moving the back end to SQL Server. My requirements are as follows: The DB needs to be multiuser and the users (3-5) will need to log in over the web I would prefer not to re-write the forms and reports in ASP or some other web front end. When I think about my choices, I see them as: Have an Access ADP front end and allows remote log-in to the server where it is stored. Not sure if it is possible for 2 users to simultaneously log in Distribute an ADP front end to the users, but I am not sure if it is possible to connect to a SQL Server back end over the internet, and the network traffic may be an issue. Any other solution? I appreciate all help. u

The program fails at any trying to do something with Ogre::LogManager::getSingletonPtr() object with code User program stopped by signal (SIGSEGV) I checked that getSingletonPtr() returns address 0x000 But using code Utils::get_mutable_instance().getHandle().write("foo") works good in another part of program. What's wrong could be there with calling singletons?

  Hi, I'm planning to log my squid instances to a mongodb, but the actual problem is that we have a huge traffic to be logged, every access authenticated with user/pass. Eventually we have to make some reports based on logs. I was thinking to insert the logs distributed by months and by users, so my collection will look like this: {month: 'april', users: [{user: 'loop0', logs: [{timestamp: 12345678.9, url: 'http://stackoverflow.com/question/ask', ... }]}] So if I want to generate my reports based on the month of april I just have to get the right month instead of looking in zillions of lines to fetch the lines that timestamp match between April, 1 and April, 30. Of course this type of insert will be slower than just insert the log line directly. So my question is: is there a best way to do this? Nowadays we have around 12 million lines of log by day.

I am using the new JQuery 1.7 on feature to say "hey for all labels in the CancelSurvey id element call this notify function when they are clicked." function notify(event) { console.log(event.data.name); } $('#CancelSurvey').on('click', 'label', { name: $(this).attr("id") }, notify); I want to pass the id of the label as parameter "name". When I try to alert this it is undefined (they are defined in the html created). I believe that using the $(this) is not referencing the label selector in this case. It actually seems to be referencing the document itself. Any ideas on how to accomplish this?

The user can configure the url of this iframe, but if the url could not be loaded (it does not exists or the user does not have access to internet) then the iframe should failover to a default offline page. The question is, how can I detect if the iframe could be loaded or not? I tried subscribing to the 'load' event, and, if this event is not fired after some time then I failover, but this only works in Firefox, since IE and Chrome fires the 'load' event when the "Page Not Found" is displayed.

  I need to add multiple records based on data from another table where the event is the same. I've found on this forum insert into table2(id,name) select "001",first_name from table1 where table1.id="001" as possible solution for my question. So I thought this should be the following syntax: insert into reservations(event,seat) select "99",id from seats where seats.id>0 to add all seats to event 99. However when I run this query mysql gives the message 'MySQL returned an empty resultset (0 rows). (query 0.0028 sec)' and no records were added. I translated the message so could be sligthly different. When I only use the "select "99",id from seats where seats.id0" query, it returns me 1080 rows.

  I couldn't find any examples of how to send messages between an activity and a service, and spent far too many hours figuring this out. Here is an example project for others to reference. This example allows you to start or stop a service directly, and separately bind/unbind from the service. When the service is running, it increments a number at 10Hz. If the activity is bound to the service, it will display the current value. Data is transferred as an Integer and as a String so you can see how to do that two different ways. There are also buttons in the activity to send messages to the service (changes the increment-by value). The add_shown fires when the ModalPopupExtender had shown and add_hiding fires when the user cancels it by CancelControlID,note that it fires before hiding the modal.
