• MochaUI modal dialog form submit

  Hi, i'm playing with Motools + MochaUI and i'm facing a problem: I'm trying to submit a form from a modal window. It is working fine, the problem is that it is reloading the parent window. The code to my Modal: MUI.newPolicyWindow = function(){ new MUI.Modal({ id: 'modalNewPolicy', title: 'New Policy', contentURL: '/policies/new', type: 'modal', width: 340, height: 180, scrollbars: false }); } And my js to handle the action (the form's name is new_policy $('new_policy').addEvent('submit', function(e){ new Event(e).stop(); this.set('send', {onComplete: function(response) { MochaUI.notification('Policy created'); MUI.closeAll(); }}); this.send() }); Note that the form is submitted, the problem is that i would like that, on Success, it just close my Modal and send this Mocha's cute notification.

  I'd like to implement zoom function while Ctrl key is pressed. But the MouseWheel event is not trigger while the mouse is over the ScrollView.   As far as I can tell the only way to convert from BitmapSource to Bitmap is through unsafe code... • Model binding nested collections in ASP.NET MVC

  Hi I'm using Steve Sanderson's BeginCollectionItem helper with ASP.NET MVC 2 to model bind a collection if items. That works fine, as long as the Model of the collection items does not contain another collection. I have a model like this: -Product --Variants ---IncludedAttributes Whenever I render and model bind the Variants collection, it works jusst fine.   I'm working on a new project http://www.hotwirerevealed.com which reveals / identifies hotels on hotwire.com. After inputting a state and a destination I have a javascript functions that uses jquery's .post method to post. • Android - Read PNG image without alpha and decode as ARGB_8888 Android

  I try to read an image from sdcard (in emulator) and then create a Bitmap image with the "BitmapFactory.decodeByteArray" method. I set the options: options.inPrefferedConfig = Bitmap.Config.ARGB_8888 options.inDither = false Then I extract the pixels into a ByteBuffer. ByteBuffer buffer = ByteBuffer.allocateDirect(width*height*4) bitmap.copyPixelsToBuffer(buffer) I use this ByteBuffer then in the JNI to convert it into RGB format and want to calculate on it. But always I get false data - I test without modifying the ByteBuffer. Only thing I do is to put it into the native method into JNI. Then cast it into a unsigned char* and convert it back into a ByteBuffer before returning it back to Java. Before displaying the image I get data back with bitmap.copyPixelsFromBuffer( buffer ) But then it has wrong data in it. My Question is if this is because the image is internally converted into RGB 565 or what is wrong here? May anybody has an idea, it would be great!

• BIOS upgrade lowers CPU temperature

  Setup I've got a system with an Asus P8Z68-V PRO motherboard and an Intel Core i7-2600K CPU running at stock speed (no overlocking) which I cool with a Noctua NH-U12P. On the heatsink I've got the two included fans connected via the included Low-Noise Adapters (L.N.A.) 1100 RPM, 16.9 dB(A). In the BIOS settings I've set the CPU and chassis fan profile to silent. Issue Yesterday I upgraded from BIOS version 0501 to 0606. After the upgrade I checked the temperatures in the BIOS monitor and was surprised to see that the CPU temperature was slightly ~30°C. Before the upgrade the CPU temperature was ~50°C with the same BIOS settings (see the following heading for details on temperatures). How can this be? It seems a bit odd that a BIOS upgrade can lower the CPU temperature by 20°C and it also seems odd that the CPU temperature is lower than the chassis temperature. Temperatures When I've checked temperatures the room temperature has been ~23°C. I haven't changed the placement of the computer nor the hardware or cooling setup between BIOS versions. BIOS version 0501 BIOS monitor: CPU: ~50°C Chassis: ~33°C I haven't got any temperature measures from lm-sensors or the like for version 0501 because I only discovered the issue after upgrading to version 0606 and the BIOS updater utility won't let me downgrade to version 0501 (it says "outdated image" when I try to load version 0501). BIOS version 0606 BIOS monitor: CPU: ~30°C Chassis: ~33°C lm-sensors in Ubuntu 11.04 Desktop 64-bit (sudo sensors after an uptime of 4 h 52 min and a load average of 0.22, 0.18, 0.15): coretemp-isa-0000 Adapter: ISA adapter Core 0: +32.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +98.0°C) coretemp-isa-0001 Adapter: ISA adapter Core 1: +35.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +98.0°C) coretemp-isa-0002 Adapter: ISA adapter Core 2: +29.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +98.0°C) coretemp-isa-0003 Adapter: ISA adapter Core 3: +36.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +98.0°C) The BIOS monitor temperatures was checked directly after the lm-sensors temperatures was checked. BIOS version 0706, 0801, 1101 and 3203 I get the same kind of temperatures both in the BIOS monitor and with lm-sensors in BIOS version 0706, 0801, 1101 and 3203 as in 0606. Information from Asus The 0606 changelog mentions nothing explicitly about CPU temperature (but item 3., as indicated by sidran32, might affect temperatures): P8Z68-V PRO 0606 BIOS with IRST 10.6.0.1002 Enable the support of Intel Rapid Storage Technology version 10.6.0.1002 Release Improve DRAM compatibility Improve System stability Improve compatibility with some Raid card model Increase IGD share memory size to 512MB However the following FAQ might give a hint: FAQs I find that the CPU temperature reading in BIOS is about 10~20 degrees centigrade hotter than the reading in OS. Is it normal? Page Tools Solution That is normal as BIOS does not send idle command to the CPU, making most of the power saving features useless. You should be getting similar reading if you disable EIST/C1E/CPU C3 Report/CPU C6 Report in BIOS.

  Hi, Happy New Year! I have a textbox to display a very long Base64 string. The TextBox.Multline = true and TextBox.WordWrap = true. The issue is caused by the auto-word-boundary detection of the TextBox itself. The Base64 string has '+' as one of the 64 characters for Base64 encoding. Therefore, the TextBox will wrap it up at the '+' character, which is not what I want (because the use might think there is a newline character around the '+' character). I just want my Base64 string displayed in Mulitline-mode in TextBox, but no word boundary detection, that is, if the TextBox.Width can only contain 80 characters, then each line should have exact 80 characters except the last line. I'm not sure if I made myself clear. Thanks. Peter

  Hi. I am making a sort of "print preview" control for some documents in my Silverlight 3 application. I have a Canvas (for showing the document) inside of a ScrollViewer, and I have zoom in / zoom out buttons that control the X and Y Scale properties of the ScaleTransform for the Canvas.RenderTransform property. I want the scrollbars of the ScrollViewer to show up when I "zoom in" enough such that the canvas is no longer visible in the ScrollViewer area, but it seems that they only show up depending on the Width/Height of the Canvas itself, regardless of whether it is zoomed in or not. Can anyone help?

  I've been trying to add in-app email functionality and have been somewhat successful. The MailCompose view is displayed properly.   On three separate occasions on two separate servers at nearly the same times, 6.9 hours seemingly went by without any data being written to the IIS logs, but, on closer inspection, it appears that it was all recorded all at once. Here's the facts as I know them: Windows Server 2003 R2 w/ IIS6 Logging using GMT, server local time GMT-7. Application was still operating and I have SQL data to prove that Time gaps appear in log file, not across two # headers appear at gap Load balancer pings every 30 seconds No caching Here's info on a particular case: an entry appears for 2009-09-21 18:09:27 then #headers the next entry is for 2009-09-22 01:21:54, and so are the next 1600 entries in this log file and 370 in the next log file. about half of the ~2000 entries on 2009-09-22 01:21:54 are load balancer pings (est. at 2/min for 6.9hrs = 828 pings) then entries are recorded as normal. I believe that these events may coincide with me deploying an ASP.NET application update into those machines. Also note that /ping.aspx returned 404 then switched to 200 just as the problem started. I rename the "I'm alive page" so the load balancer stops sending requests to the server while I'm working on it. What you see here is me renaming it back so the load balancer will use the server. So, this problem definitely coincides with me re-enabling the server. Any ideas?

• Custom Paging for GridView in an UpdatePanel not firing PageIndexChanging event

  I have a GridView that uses custom paging inside an UpdatePanel (so that the paging and sorting of the gridview don't cause postback). The sorting works fine, but the paging doesn't. The PageIndexChanging event is never called. • WPF Custom TextBox ContextMenuOpening Problem

  I've got an issue with a custom control that I've written not firing it's ContextMenuOpening event when I hook it up programatically. The control is basically a wrapper for the standard TextBox: public class MyTextBox : TextBox { public MyTextBox() { this.ContextMenuOpening += new ContextMenuEventHandler(MyTextBox_ContextMenuOpening); } void MyTextBox_ContextMenuOpening(object sender, ContextMenuEventArgs e) { MessageBox.Show("ContextMenuOpening event fired"); } } There's nothing suspect either about the XAML: <local:MyTextBox Height="25" Width="300"/> For some reason though, I can never get the event to fire. I'm trying to intercept the context menu so I can alter it (it's context sensitive) and really am trying to avoid having to hook up the event everywhere the control is used - surely this is possible?
