• Translating external api results in Drupal

  We're building a multi-language Drupal stack and one of the concerns we have is that our payment processor is going to have to send back some information to us. We've been able to narrow this down so that the strings they're sending back look like <country code>-<number of months> so we can easily translate that into any number of languages, except English. t('FR-12') is all well and good if we want to translate that into a french description, but because there's not an English language a similar string like t('EN-12') is not translatable. Similarly for the generic string: #API_Connection_Error This sort of generic string approach seemed really compelling to me at first but it seems to not work in Drupal. Do you have any suggestions about how to translate generic strings like this into both English and other languages? Thank you, I've been looking through Google all morning.

• MySQL - display rows of names and addresses grouped by name, where name occures more than once

  I have two tables, "name" and "address". I would like to list the last_name and joined address.street_address of all last_name in table "name" that occur more than once in table "name". The two tables are joined on the column "name_id". The desired output would appear like so: 213 | smith | 123 bluebird | 14 | smith | 456 first ave | 718 | smith | 12 san antonia st. | 244 | jones | 78 third ave # 45 | 98 | jones | 18177 toronto place | Note that if the last_name "abernathy" appears only once in table "name", then "abernathy" should not be included in the result. This is what I came up with so far: SELECT name.name_id, name.last_name, address.street_address, count(*) FROM `name` JOIN `address` ON name.name_id = address.name_id GROUP BY `last_name` HAVING count(*) > 1 However, this produces only one row per last name. I'd like all the last names listed. I know I am missing something simple. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

I configured settings.xml correctly (i guess so...) true http username password 12.34.56.78 8080 But still I am error message like... if i dont configure userid/password gets correct error message which is HTTP response code 407 - saying authentication required. But If I configure correct/incorrect proxy authentication it always prints below error message....   Long before you practice writing readable code, what "magic numbers" you still remember up to this day? here's some of my list: 72 80 75 77 13 32 27 - up down left right enter space escape 1 2 4 128 - blue green red blink 67h 33h 17h - interrupt for EMS, mouse, printer function AH 9, interrupt 21 alt+219 for block ASCII alt+164 ñ 90 NOP 13 10 carriage return, line feed ascii 1 and 2 face, ascii 3 heart. no not this heart: <3 :-) debug -o72,10 -o71,12 clears the BIOS password. I don't know what those numbers mean, it's like a trade secret that gets shared with each other during college days. ascii 7 sounds a beep P.S. Somehow, remembering some of these magic numbers can help you in some tech problems, your keyboard is broken, the office pal's keyboard doesn't have accented characters. An anecdote, during college, one of my friend asked me how to remove the newlines in his Word document. Not having used Word so much then, I somehow "intuitively" guessed to find ^013 and replace it with blank. Well it works :-)

  I think this is a relatively straightforward question but I have spent the afternoon looking for an answer and cannot yet find it. So... I have a view with a country column and a number column. I want to make any number less than 10 'other' and then sum the 'other's into one value. For example, AR 10 AT 7 AU 11 BB 2 BE 23 BY 1 CL 2 I used CASE as follows: select country = case when number < 10 then 'Other' else country end, number from ... This replaces the countries values with less than 10 in the number column to other but I can't work out how to sum them. I want to end up with a table/view which looks like this: AR 10 AU 11 BE 23 Other 12 Any help is greatly appreciated. Cheers, David

• Use XSLT to arrange a list of items in a table

  I have a linear list of items which I wish to arrange in a table using XSLT. I wish to specify the number of columns as a parameter. For example, if I have a list of 12 items, I can select a 2x6, 3x4, 4x3 or 6x2 table. I cannot see a general way to do this. I have seen this article: http://www.nedcomp.nl/support/origdocs/xml4/extracted/xpath_hdi_1_4llx.aspx It tells you how to generate a table with a specific number of columns, but does not allow a general case. (Ideally there would be a loop for the xsl:value-of lines). Thanks Mark

  Hi, I'm new to MOSS 2007. I need create a workflow to look at a document's review date (a select list predefined to values of 3 , 6 or 12 months) and send an email if the review date has passed. So the workflow needs to get the documents review date then convert this to date time add to the created date if greater than current date send an email. • Windows Server 2003 W3SVC Failing, Brute Force attack possibly the cause

  This week my website has disappeared twice for no apparent reason. I logged onto my server (Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2) and restarted the World Web Publishing service, website still down. I tried restarting a few other services like DNS and Cold Fusion and the website was still down. In the end I restarted the server and the website reappeared. Last night the website went down again. This time I logged on and looked at the event log. SCARY STUFF! There were hundreds of these: Event Type: Information Event Source: TermService Event Category: None Event ID: 1012 Date: 30/01/2012 Time: 15:25:12 User: N/A Computer: SERVER51338 Description: Remote session from client name a exceeded the maximum allowed failed logon attempts. The session was forcibly terminated. At a frequency of around 3 -5 a minute. At about the time my website died there was one of these: Event Type: Information Event Source: W3SVC Event Category: None Event ID: 1074 Date: 30/01/2012 Time: 19:36:14 User: N/A Computer: SERVER51338 Description: A worker process with process id of '6308' serving application pool 'DefaultAppPool' has requested a recycle because the worker process reached its allowed processing time limit. Which is obviously what killed the web service. There were then a few of these: Event Type: Error Event Source: TermDD Event Category: None Event ID: 50 Date: 30/01/2012 Time: 20:32:51 User: N/A Computer: SERVER51338 Description: The RDP protocol component "DATA ENCRYPTION" detected an error in the protocol stream and has disconnected the client. I don't know why this brute force attack caused the webservice to stop and I don't know why restarting the service didn't fix the problem. What should I do to make sure my server is secure and what should I do to make sure the webserver doesn't go down any more? Thanks.

Try specifying the type arguments explicitly' The delegate supplied to Where should take in an XElement and return a bool, marking if the item matches the query, I am not sure how to add anything more to the delegate or the where clause to mark the type. Also, the parallel method for the real function against the Entity Framework does not have this issue. What is not correct with the LINQ-to-XML version?

  I need to parse tab/space delimited files that have a lot of columns in Perl. The values are such that the there are large strings enclosed within double quotes. These strings can have any characters such as tabs and spaces or anything else. When I try to parse them with the split function it splits these strings as well. Now how can I make perl understand that the strings within the " " are a single column entry? A simple example is, 12 345546.67677 "Hello World!!!" -567.55656 0.5465767 "Hello_Again; "

  For the past month or so I been busting my behind trying to learn directx. So I been mixing back back and fourth from directx 9 to directx 10. One of the major changes I've seen in the two is how to process vectors in the graphics card. one of the drastic changes I notice is how you get the gpu to recognize your structs. In directx 9 you define the Flexible Vertex Formats your typical set up would be like this... #define CUSTOMFVF (D3DFVF_XYZRHW | D3DFVF_DIFFUSE) in directx 10 I believe the equivalent is the input vertex description D3D10_INPUT_ELEMENT_DESC layout[] = { {"POSITION",0,DXGI_FORMAT_R32G32B32_FLOAT, 0 , 0, D3D10_INPUT_PER_VERTEX_DATA, 0}, {"COLOR",0,DXGI_FORMAT_R32G32B32A32_FLOAT, 0 , 12, D3D10_INPUT_PER_VERTEX_DATA, 0} }; I notice in directx 10. it is more descriptive. besides this, what are some of the drastic changes made. and is the hlsl syntax the same for both.

• Why is Visual Studio 2008 slow with Firefox?

  I am using Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2008 Express. I've made an ASP.NET MVC site which has 6 CSS files and 6 Javascript files in the HEAD element in the Site.Master file. When I do F5 or CTRL-F5 in Explorer or Opera, the site displays instantly. When I run my site in Firefox, it takes a SECOND for each CSS and each Javascript file on LOCALHOST, i.e. 12 seconds to load on localhost. What might I be able to change in the Firefox settings so it is as fast as Opera and Explorer? NEW INFO: Uninstalled Firebug completely, no yslow, no other add-ons. When I take out the CSS and Javascript files, then Firefox is as fast as the other browsers. What could be taking it so long on a local connection?

• ORM solutions (JPA; Hibernate) vs. JDBC

  I need to be able to insert/update objects at a consistent rate of at least 8000 objects every 5 seconds in an in-memory HSQL database. I have done some comparison performance testing between Spring/Hibernate/JPA and pure JDBC. I have found a significant difference in performance using HSQL.. With Spring/Hib/JPA, I can insert 3000-4000 of my 1.5 KB objects (with a One-Many and a Many-Many relationship) in 5 seconds, while with direct JDBC calls I can insert 10,000-12,000 of those same objects. I cannot figure out why there is such a huge discrepancy. I have tweaked the Spring/Hib/JPA settings a lot trying to get close in performance without luck. I want to use Spring/Hib/JPA for future purposes, expandability, and because the foreign key relationships (one-many and many-many) are difficult to maintain by hand; but the performance requirements seem to point towards using pure JDBC. Any ideas of why there would be such a huge discrepancy?

  I've been given the assignment to write an algorithm in C# that checks the validity of a Canadian Social Insurance Number (SIN). Here are the steps to validate a SIN. Given an example Number: 123 456 782 Remove the check digit (the last digit): 123456782 Extract the even digits (2,4,6,8th digith): 12345678 Double them: 2 4 6 8 | | | | v v v v 4 8 12 16 Add the digits together: 4+8+1+2+1+6 = 22 Add the Odd placed digits: 1+3+5+7 = 16 Total : 38 Validity Algorithm If the total is a multiple of 10, the check digit should be zero. Otherwise, Subtract the Total from the next highest multiple of 10 (40 in this case) The check digit for this SIN must be equal to the difference of the number and the totals from earlier (in this case, 40-38 = 2; check digit is 2, so the number is valid) I'm lost on how to actually implement this in C#, how do I do this?

• google maps everytime fails to place some markers on the map

  hello! im trying to place like 130/140 markers on a custom google map. i inject the map with jquery and gmaps (http://gmap.nurtext.de/) everytime, at random (not related to specific markers) a lots of markers are not shown. firebug report this error: a is null and this error comes from this file: http://maps.gstatic.com/intl/it_ALL/mapfiles/285c/maps2.api/main.js if i refresh the page...some other markers are "hidden" and other ones are shown. anyone had this problem/can help me or suggest another safe way to show all markers? thanks a lot! • Computationally intensive scala process using actors hangs uncooperatively

  I have a computationally intensive scala application that hangs. By hangs I means it is sitting in the process stack using 1% CPU but does not respond to kill -QUIT nor can it be attached via jdb attach. Runs 2-12 hours at 800-900% CPU before it gets stuck The application is using ~10 scala.actors. Until now I have had great success with kill -QUIT but I am bit stumped as to how to proceed. The actors write a fair amount to stdout using println which is redirected to a text file but has not been helpful so far diagnostically. I am just hoping there is some obvious technique when kill -QUIT fails that I am ignorant of. Or just confirmation that having multiple actors println asynchronously is a real bad idea (though I've been doing it for a long time only recently with these results) Details scala 2.8.1 & 2.8.0 mac osx 10.6.5 java version "1.6.0_22" Thanks

  I have about 12-15 images that I want to align together in a grid, with text under each image. I thought about using a table, but I hear that tables aren't the best way to go these days. I tried a few other things, but nothing seemed to work the way I wanted it to.   Using MS SQL Server.I have made a Stored Procedure naming "SP_Get_CallsLogged". I have a table named "TRN_Call", and it has one column named "CallTime" which is a DateTime. I have a web-page in my application where the User enters:- 1.StartDate (DateTime) 2.EndDate (DateTime) 3.Period(Daily/Weekly/Monthly) (varchar) (from DropDownList) I want to get the Record Count of those calls in my table *TRN_Call* on the basis of the specified Period(Daily/Weekly/Monthly) selected by user in the DropDownList. e.g. StartDate ='1/18/2010 11:10:46 AM' EndDate ='1/25/2010 01:10:46 AM' Period =Daily So the record count between these above mentioned dates(StartDate+EndDate) should come in a manner so that I can refer to those counts separately i.e. the following:- Date 1/18/2010 Records Found 5 Date 1/19/2010 Records Found 50 Date 1/20/2010 Records Found 15 Date 1/21/2010 Records Found 32 Date 1/22/2010 Records Found 12 Date 1/23/2010 Records Found 15 Date 1/24/2010 Records Found 17 Date 1/25/2010 Records Found 32 and send those Counts to the Web Application so that these counts could be listed then in the Crystal Reports.

  I'm trying to print/save a certain element's HTML from a web-page. I've retrieved the requested element's XPath from firebug. All I wish is to save this element to a file. I don't seem to succeed in doing so.   Hi, I am asking about how could i pass multi parameters to a stored procedure, one of these parameters is user defined table. When I tried to do it it shows this error: INSERT INTO BD (ID, VALUE, BID) values( (SELECT t1.ID, t1.Value FROM @Table AS t1),someintvalue) here @Table is the user defined table parameter. Msg 116, Level 16, State 1, Procedure UpdateBD, Line 12 Only one expression can be specified in the select list when the subquery is not introduced with EXISTS. Msg 109, Level 15, State 1, Procedure UpdateBD, Line 11 There are more columns in the INSERT statement than values specified in the VALUES clause. • ASP.NET error when trying to configure ListView + SqlDatasource for a MySql Table

  Hi, i'm using ASP.NET + a MySql Db. I'm trying to configure a ListView so i've written: <asp:SqlDataSource ID="dsDatiUtente" runat="server" ConnectionString="Server=12.28.136.29;Database=mydb;Uid=m111d1;Pwd=fake;Pooling=false;" ProviderName="MySql.Data.MySqlClient" SelectCommand="SELECT * FROM user WHERE idUser=@IdUser" / At the beginning of my aspx page i've added <%@ Import Namespace="MySql.Data.MySqlClient" %> But if i click to the sqldatasource and click "Refresh Schema" i got this error: "Unable to retrive schema.... Unable to find the requested .Net Framework data provider" For instance, i've installed it , but i've also uninstalled old version, then installed new versions. In my project i simple copy Mysql dll into "bin" folder, then add a reference to that dll. I'm not sure is the corrected way... I need to have the "refreshed schema" to permit vs.net to build automatically my listview ... if i can't to "auto build" listview, i have to write all code by hand, and it is a too expensive work me :( What i'm wrong ?
