    For IIS6 I can use the IIS helpers in Wix to install a web application like this: <iis:WebAppPool Id="AP_MyApp" Name="My Application Pool" Identity="networkService" /> <iis:WebApplication Id="WA_MyApp" Name="MyApp" WebAppPool="AP_MyApp"> <iis:WebApplicationExtension CheckPath="no" Executable="[NETFRAMEWORK20INSTALLROOTDIR]aspnet_isapi.dll" Verbs="GET,HEAD,POST"/> </iis:WebApplication> Unfortunately, this doesn't work for IIS7. We don't want to use the aspnet_isapi.dll mechanism, and instead want the integrated pipeline to handle the request routing. The app pool created by this script is in Classic mode not Integrated mode so none of the handlers get run correctly. How can I correctly install an MVC app on IIS 7?

I do not fully understand the routing tables and not sure if this is what I need to use to get this working.   • Where to use Controller.HttpContext

    Hi, In my base controller's constructor I am calling an extension method that checks for specific cookies on the client. Currently I am using System.Web.HttpContext.Current to get the current context. However, I am lead to believe that I should be using Controller.HttpContext since it is more testable and contains additional information about the request. However, Controller.HttpContext returns null on creation (believe this is by design) but also on Initialize and Execute methods (unless I use Routing.RequestContext.HttpContext?). So if I should be using Controller.HttpContext instead of HttpContext.Current, at what point is it available to me in a request? Thanks Ben

    I'm trying to figure out to store a reference to an ABPerson in a Core Data store on an iPhone app. Ultimately, I'd like to be able to sync with a Mac version of the app (I'm assuming ABRecordIDs wouldn't be the same for the iPhone and the Mac). I was thinking of storing the record ID, name, and email and checking against those--is there a better way?

    Fmylife.com has a nifty feature that when you copy the text from a post, it actually copies a LINK (html) so that when you paste it into your email/facebook/instant messenger/twitter/whatever it automatically will link to the post, giving them more traffic and more page views and more ad revenue, etc. I looked into their javascript files but can't seem to find how they do it. How would one go about copying this behavior?

Using a sample from MDSN, I've gotten as far as trying to add the delegate, but after the call to the service binding, I get nothing back...no success or fail....nothing.     Hi folks, I have a Django 'add business' view which adds a new business with an inline 'business_contact' form. The form works fine, but I'm wondering how to write up the unit test - specifically, the 'postdata' to send to self.client.post(settings.BUSINESS_ADD_URL, postdata) I've inspected the fields in my browser and tried adding post data with corresponding names, but I still get a 'ManagementForm data is missing or has been tampered with' error when run. Anyone know of any resources for figuring out how to post inline data? Relevant models, views & forms below if it helps. Lotsa thanks.   • Sharing cookies/session from WebView to HttpClient doesn't work

    I know this question has been asked a hundred times, and I've read and tried for 2 hours now, but I can't find my error :-( I am trying to create a simple webbrowser and therefore have a webview, where I login on a site and get access to a picture area. With help of a DefaultHttpClient, I want to make it possible to download pictures in the secured area. Therefore I am trying to share the cookies from the webview and pass them on to the HttpClient, so that it is authenticated and able to download. But whatever I try and do, I always get a 403 response back... One of the problems is that the webview saves some cookies for the host *www.*example.com, but the image-URL to download (params[0]) is *static.*example.com. The line cookieManager.getCookie(new URL(params[0]).getHost()); returns null, because there is no cookie for static.example.com, but only for www.example.com. .) When I manually say cookieManager.getCookie("www.example.com"); I get some cookies back, which I add to the HttpClient cookie store: There are 5 cookies added - testcookie = 0 - PHPSESSID = 320947238someGibberishSessionId - email = [email protected] - pass = 32423te32someEncodedPassGibberish - user = 345542 So although these cookies, a session ID and other stuff, get added to the HttpClient, it never get's through to download an image. Im totally lost... though I guess that it either has something to do with the cookies domains, or that Im still missing other cookies. But from where the heck should I know which cookies exist in the webview, when I have to specify a specific URL to get a cookie back?? :-( Any advice?

  • Spring security - Reach users ID without passing it through every controller

    I have a design issue that I don't know how to solve. I'm using Spring 3.2.4 and Spring security 3.1.4. I have a Account table in my database that looks like this: create table Account (id identity, username varchar unique, password varchar not null, firstName varchar not null, lastName varchar not null, university varchar not null, primary key (id)); Until recently my username was just only a username but I changed it to be the email address instead since many users want to login with that instead. I have a header that I include on all my pages which got a link to the users profile like this: <a href="/project/users/<%= request.getUserPrincipal().getName()%>" class="navbar-link"><strong><%= request.getUserPrincipal().getName()%></strong></a> The problem is that <%= request.getUserPrincipal().getName()%> returns the email now, I don't want to link the user's with thier emails. Instead I want to use the id every user have to link to the profile. How do I reach the users id's from every page? I have been thinking of two solutions but I'm not sure: Change the principal to contain the id as well, don't know how to do this and having problem finding good information on the topic. Add a model attribute to all my controllers that contain the whole user but this would be really ugly, like this. Account account = entityManager.find(Account.class, email); model.addAttribute("account", account); There are more way's as well and I have no clue which one is to prefer.   • Fogbugz Duplicate Cases

    I am using FogBugz free hosting to manage my project bugs, I also have several customers I create custom software for, been using FogBugz to keep everything organized. Question I have is, there are times where they send me an email with a bug, so I report it in my system and they create it as well, instead of having 2 cases of same bug, would like to merge or link them together, rather not just delete the duplicate. Is there a way to link them together, maybe like a cross reference or even merge them together?
