  • Runtime C function details

    Hi, Is there any way to find particular C language function's input and output parameters from a framework (apple's ARM) during the runtime or from any method with out knowing the headers. It is a framework and there are no header files for it.I decompile it with IDA Pro and it gives me the function names but not input and output parameters information. I am able to load those private functions using dlsym. Is it possible to find the parameters info in runtime (C language or Objective C) or from IDA Pro ? Regards, Raghu

  • Issues with LINQ (to Entity) [adding records]

    I am using LINQ to Entity in a project, where I pull a bunch of data (from the database) and organize it into a bunch of objects and save those to the database. I have not had problems writing to the db before using LINQ to Entity, but I have run into a snag with this particular one. Here's the error I get (this is the "InnerException", the exception itself is useless!): New transaction is not allowed because there are other threads running in the session. I have seen that before, when I was trying to save my changes inside a loop. In this case, the loop finishes, and it tries to make that call, only to give me the exception.   • PHP problems when transfering code from Windows to OS X

    I have recently bought a new MacBook Pro. Before I had my MacBook Pro I was working on a website on my desktop computer. And now I want to transfer this code to my new MacBook Pro. The problem is that when I transfered the code (I put it on Dropbox and simply downloaded it on my MacBook Pro) I started to see lots of error messages in my PHP code. The error message I”m receiving is: Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /some/file.php:1) in /some/file.php on line 23 I have done some research on this and it seems that this error is most frequently caused by a new line, simple whitespace or any output before the <?php sign. I have looked through all the places where I have cookies that are being sent in the HTTP request and also where I'm using the header() function. I haven’t detected any output or whitespace that possibly could interfere and cause this problem. Noteworthy is that the error always says that the output is started at line 1. Which got me thinking if there is some kind of coding differences in the way that the Mac OS X and Windows operating systems handle new lines or white spaces? Or could the Dropbox transfer messed something up?   • Ubuntu suddenly freezes

    I've a strange problem with my ubuntu 10.04 installation. Whenever i boot into ubuntu the entire system freezes / hangs soon after (~ 2 mins in). This problem exists on my windows 7 installation too. However if i start World of Warcraft or Warcraft on windows it doesnt hang for the duration i'm playing the game. After i stop playing and exit the game my laptop hangs inside 2 mins. Here is when it gets weirder. If i disconnect the charger, the laptop doesn't hang. However when I start it in ubuntu recovery mode and drop to root shell and use the 'startx' command everything works perfectly.     I am trying to get Apache Solr to work on Redhat6 and Tomcat6 (using these instructions), but get this error when browsing to the admin section, http://localhost:8080/solr-example/admin: HTTP Status 404 - missing core name in path type Status report message missing core name in path description The requested resource (missing core name in path) is not available. http://localhost:8080/solr-example loads fine, with a link to "Solr Admin." My setup is as follows: tomcat6: /etc/tomcat6 Solr: /app/solr/example I have a solr-example.xml in /etc/tomcat6/Catalina/localhost/, which reads: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <Context docBase="/app/solr/example/apache-solr-3.4.0.war" debug="0" crossContext="true"> <Environment name="solr/home" type="java.lang.String" value="/app/solr/example" override="true"/> </Context> I don't see anything in the logs (/var/log/tomcat6) ... only entires in catalina.out are regarding the starting and stopping of tomcat6. My questions are: 1.What else do I need to do to get "Solr Admin" to work under Tomcat? 2.Where are these "cores" supposed to be specified? I see an entry in /app/solr/example/solr/solr.xml ? <solr persistent="false"> adminPath: RequestHandler path to manage cores.     I have 2 graphics cards, the output from the lspci: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV770 [Radeon HD 4850] 02:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV710 [Radeon HD 4350] I have one monitor connected to the 4850 and 2 connected to the 4350. However when I go into System Preferences Monitors the only monitor shown is the one connected to the 4850. Is there something I need to enable for it to be able to use the other card? How do I get this to work. Thanks.     cant understand what these are even though i've read articles about them. does it has something to do with 32 bits and 64 bits CPU? so why is it saying "AMD"64 and "I386"? AMD is a label just like INTEL? so if I've got Intel Core 2 Duo (Macbook pro) then i cant use amd64 even though Intel Core is 64 bits. thanks for explanation!

    As I understand it, you can do: Windows 2008 + Hyper-V role Windows Hyper-V Server (which is free I believe) Windows 2008 Core + Hyper-V Role I'm assuming that Core + Hyper-V and Hyper-V Server have the smallest footprint, and therefore better performing, less patching, etc. What other trade-offs/compromises would there be compared to the full Windows + Hyper-V role? However, I've read somewhere that Enterprise comes with four Enterprise 2008 (4) guest VM licenses (I think Standard gives you two (2)). Can someone clarify these statements?

Main criteria is a GbE NICs (will be used for core routing/firewalling with managed GbE switches), DDR3 RAM capable, and multi-core/Intel Atom processor, in a 1U rack-mountable case or smaller. Axiomtek has the ideal product but I don't think they have retail channels.
