  Has anyone done any performance measures with this in terms of speed where there is a high number of substitutes for any given word. For instance, I want to use this to store common misspellings; expecting to have 4-10 variations of a word. <expansion> _{administration} _{administraton} _aministraton </expansion> When you run a fulltext search, how does performance degrade with that number of variations? for instance, I assume it has to do a separate fulltext search performing an OR? Also, having say 20/30K entries in the Thesaurus xml file - does this impact performance?

  I love to use Google Documents as MS Word and MS Excel replacements for online collaboration. However, now I need to discuss architecture layout for my software. Nothing too fancy, perhaps a little (pseudo-)UML, but mostly basic shapes (rectangles, ellipses etc.) with labels, connected by thin lines or arrows. In olden Windows times I'd go for Visio, and be happy. But now I want to use online tool. Preferably free. No need for code reverse engineering etc., just plain assisted vector drawing. Any advice? What do you use?

  Hi, I have ASP.NET web service on windows server 2003. I have own certificate authority. I use own client certificate on authentification in web service. I make client certificate. I call web service, everything is ok. Then I revoke this certificate in certification authority. Certificate is in Revoked certificate. I call web service with this certificate, but web service verify this certificate as good, but this certificate is between revoked. I don't know why? Anybody help me please? I use this method on verify certificate. X509Certificate2.Verify Method I don't get any exception, certificate is between revoked, but web service verify this certificate as good.

  I have a table of 2 fields. Word and timestamp. Then i have this array which contains some words. How do i delete all the records in the table which match with the words in the array? Suppose that the model is called "Word". Any ideas on how to achieve this? maybe loop through the array and run some destroy queries. Can anybody direct me here? thanks

• MVC Partial View Not Refreshing when using JSON data

  I have a dropdown that I'm using to refresh a div with checkboxes. I am trying to figure out why my view is not refreshing if I pass in data in JSON format. If I pass in just a regular string, the view refreshes. If I pass in JSON data, the view does not refresh. If I step through the code in the Partial view, I can see the correct number of records are being passed in, however the view doesn't get refreshed with the correct number of checkboxes. I tried to add some cache directives, it didn't work. • Choosing connectionstring in VB.NET application at startup

  I have a VB.NET application with a connection to an SQL Server 2003. On the server there are two databases, MyDatabase and MyDatabase_Test. What I would like to do is to show a dialog when the program starts that let's the user choose which database to use. My idea is to create a new form as the starup form that sets this property and then launches the main form. Currently the connectionstring is specified in the application config file. Best would be if I can specify two different connection strings in that file to choose from, but for now it is also acceptable with other solutions like hardcoding the two connectionstrings into the startup form.

  Possible Duplicates: Recommendations for a .NET component to access an email inbox coding for how to receive a mail in windows apllication What methods are there for having .NET code run and handle e-mails as they arrive? I'm developing a social networking site that will allow users to send an email to an email address that is for posting. This is the same thing Blogger does. This allows me to take a picture with my phone and send it to [email protected] and have it posted to my profile. The site is running IIS6 and I have full access to the server. Emails are currently being processed using the SMTP service that comes with Windows 2003 Server, but I can switch to another system without any issues. I am assuming I would have to somehow have the incoming emails either go into a folder that my application is watching or cause incoming emails to trigger a script. can anyone point me in the right direction?

• How can match end-of-line multiple times in a regex without interpolation?

  Hi, if I have a input with new lines in it like: [INFO] xyz [INFO] How can I pull out the xyz part? I tried a pattern like /^\[INFO\]$(.*?)$\[INFO\]/ms, but perl gives me: Use of uninitialized value $\ in regexp compilation at scripts\t.pl line 6. I've been trying things to get interpolation to stop like using qr// but alas, no love. EDIT: The key is that the end-of-line anchor is a dollar sign but at times it may be necessary to intersperse the end-of-line anchor through the pattern. If the pattern is interpolating then you might get problems such as uninitialized $\. For instance an acceptable solution here is /^\[INFO\]\s*^(.*?)\s*^\[INFO\]/ms but that does not solve the crux of the first problem. I've changed the anchors to be ^ so there is no interpolation going on, and with this input I'm free to do that. But what about when I really do want to reference EOL with $ in my pattern? How do I get the regex to compile?

I want to make my application as flexible as possible by allowing the user to have various SQL servers installed. The problem is the SQL syntax used by any two server vendors does not match up.   I have been given a nasty wake up a while ago when I discovered that my 10 years of experience was really equivalent of about 4 (got trapped in a big company doing the same thing over and over without realizing it) and is now paying a huge price. Question 1: I did servlets/JSP programming back in the day (2001-2003). Since then there have been libraries like GWT, YUI, etc. Is JSP still the preferred way of building web apps using Java? Question 2: Because I enjoyed what I was doing and needed to pay the bills, I didn't realize that the ground below me has shifted. How do avoid this in the future? My years of C system programming doesn't seem to matter a lot now to the young guys who talk about design patterns.

  Hello! This is a simple question, but I didn´t found any documentation about this. When an applet makes a request, how is the user agent of the request. I want to know the applet user-agent expression to detect if a request comes from an applet. I make two test, with IE7 and Firefox 3.0.5 with JDK 1.6.0_03 and the user agent was "Mozilla/4.0 (Windows 2003 5.2) Java/1.6.0_03" in both, but I can´t generalize from two test. I was wondering what version of Windows 7 to get pre-installed, given that I want to do some ASP.NET development using Visual Studio. Specifically : Will all versions of Windows 7 run an IIS server & be suitable for ASP.NET development ? Are all good for running SQL Server etc ? Windows Server 2003 has been built to test the application. The database has been scripted across using MS SQL Server GUI. ASP.Net application services tables were created using an utility. The connection strings are stored in the web.config and connectionStrings.config. The application connects to the database successfully, but then it times out after 10 seconds.

  I understand how to make a dropdown list. I understand how to make conditional formatting change the color of a cell. What I do not understand is how to make conditional formatting change the color of a cell based solely on the state of another cell (not a comparison). A1 is a No / Yes dropdown list B1 is a criteria statement If the user satisfies the criteria statement in B1, they select Yes on the dropdown list in A1. For quick reference, if possible, I'd like B1 to change to a green background color on this event... and of course change back to no-fill if the dropdown is reset to No. Is this possible in Excel 2003 and/or 2007?

So a punctuation such as '-' or for example a '.' in "No." should not spacing in a sentence, but other punctuation that don't rely on a word or a phrase should be spaced.

• iPhone / NSArray : How do I format a text file to be read in using arrayWithContentsOfFile

  I have several large word lists and I had been loading them in place in the code as follows: NSArray *dict3 = [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects:@"abled",@"about",@"above",@"absurd",@"absurdity", ... but now it is actually causing an exc_bad_access error weirdly, i know it seems implausible but for some reason IT IS causing it. (trust me on this I just spend the better part of a day debugging this crap) Anyway, I'm looking to get these humongous lines of code out of my files but I'm not sure what the best approach is. I guess I could do a plist but I need to figure out how to automate the process. it be easiest if I could just use the text files I've been compiling so if anyone knows how I can format the text file so that the myArray = [NSArray arrayWithContentsOfFile: @"myTextFile.txt"]; will be read in correctly as one word per element in the array it would really be appreciated.
