  • PHP and MySQL SELECT problem.

    Trying to check if a name is already stored in the database from the login user. The name is a set of dynamic arrays entered by the user threw a set of dynamic form fields added by the user. Can some show me how to check and see if the name is already entered by the login user? I know my code can't be right. Thanks! MySQL code. SELECT * FROM names WHERE name = '" . $_POST['name'] .   • PHP sleep accuracy

    Hello all, I use the following code to see how long a user is on a particular page. I use a hidden image with a src attribute to this script: $timer_seconds = 1; while(!connection_aborted()) { echo "\n"; flush(); sleep(1); $timer_seconds++; } I sometimes find this can be off by 5-10 seconds! I am guessing its the load of the server that effects the timing?? Is there anyway I can make this accurate? Thanks all for any help.

    I am trying to take a rectangular png and add depth using GD by duplicating the background and moving it down 1 pixel and right 1 pixel. I am trying to preserve a transparent background as well. I am having a bunch of trouble with preserving the transparency. Any help would be greatly appreciated.   • php $_SESSION[document_root] too far down the tree

    Hi, I have multiple sub-domains within the document_root. And multiple folders/classes within those sub-domain folders. I need something that will help me with my include_once paths, but $_SESSION[DOCUMENT_ROOT] goes too far down. And if I were to use this, and transfer the website folder later, all my include_once paths will/might break. Hope my question is clear... Any recommendations?

  • Slick PHP based image manager for managing user profile images

    Hi, I'm just throwing this out there as I'm plodding my way through creating a Member Photo album on a site i'm working on, where they can login and upload their photos to a personal gallery. I want this to be nice and lightweight, but still slick and "modern" with a modal based interface for the user. I'm surprised though that there is seemingly nothing open source out there which fits the bill - I've done a few searches on Google to no avail and can't seem to find anything. Lots of bloated photo galleries out there but nothing looks like it has been developed using more recent technologies. Is anyone aware of anything which might suit what I'm looking for? I'm fully prepared to try and code it myself but I'd be delighted if I didn't have to! Pure laziness you might say, but there's no point reinventing the wheel.

  • php - using file() incrementally?

    I'm not sure if this is possible, I've been googling for a solution... But, essentially, I have a very large file, the lines of which I want to store in an array. Thus, I'm using file(), but is there a way to do that in batches? So that every,say, 100 lines it creates, it "pauses"? I think there's likely to be something I can do with a foreach loop or something, but I'm not sure that I'm thinking about it the right way... Like $i=0; $j=0; $throttle=100; foreach($files as $k => $v) { if($i < $j+$throttle && $i > $j) { $lines[] = file($v); //Do some other stuff, like importing into a db } $i++; $j++; } But, I think that won't really work because $i & $j will always be equal... Anyway, feeling muddled... Can someone help me think a lil' clearer?

This is being pulled from MySQL using the Code igniter framework. I don't know if it is just me being thick after a rather long day at work or what, but no matter what value the variable holds, any if statement made against it returns true, even when typecast as a boolean or a direct string comparison, ie. == "0" or == "1". Anyone with a fresh pair of eyes care to make me feel silly!?! :) Just to clarify: Have tried the following: if($examSetting->SETTING_HIDE == "1") { $showOnABC = "checked=\"checked\""; } if((bool)$examSetting->SETTING_HIDE) { $showOnABC = "checked=\"checked\""; } if($examSetting->SETTING_COUNT == "POSITIVE") further on in my code works perfectly.

    I have a form that jQuery tracks the onChage .change() event so when something is changed it runs a ajax request and i pass in the column, id, and the values in the url. Here i have the PHP code that should update the data. My question is now how do i build the mySQl string dynamically. and how do i echo back the changes/updates that where just changed on the db.     Im sure if the title is exactly what I am trying to describe so sorry if it isnt. Ok here is what i am trying to do: What i want to do is create a function that you can enter unlimited ammount of coordinates ( the blue dots) and then it will create a shape like so and then return all coordinates the shape covers. Because this is for working with pixels, there will be no decimal coordinates. Something that can be used like so: print_r(get_coords(12,6, 23,13, 30,9, 37,24, 24,34, 25,24, 7,30, 6,15)); // ^ Will output an array of all x and y coordinates that the shape covers How would i go about doing something like this?

For example, if the product was ordered three times, and it weighs 7kg, the code at the moment is showing: Product 7.00 7.00 7.00 How would I make it show the total weight, 21kg?
