• Apache CXF 2.0.12 to 2.2.7 upgrade issue

  I have upgraded a CXF web service implementation from Apache CXF 2.0.12 to 2.2.7 and now I can't connect from a remote computer. http://localhost:9000/Data?wsdl works on the installed computer. http://computername:9000/Data?wsdl from a remote computer does not work anymore (worked before upgrade). The service is configured in code (no configuration files) with the following code: DataServiceImpl dataImplementor = new DataServiceImpl(); JaxWsServerFactoryBean svrFactory = new JaxWsServerFactoryBean(); svrFactory.setServiceClass(DataServiceImpl.class); svrFactory.setAddress("http://localhost:9000/Data"); svrFactory.setServiceBean(dataImplementor); if(intercept) { svrFactory.getInInterceptors().add(new LoggingInInterceptor()); svrFactory.getOutInterceptors().add(new LoggingOutInterceptor()); } svrFactory.create(); Is there anything in the configuration which defines "Allowed clients" or something like that?

• How to sync iPhone and Mac CoreData objects through bonjour?

  I know similar questions have been asked before. I'm using the Sync Demo app I found online here, which uses Picture Sharing as a guide. I've integrated it into my desktop and iphone apps and have the connection working, but am clueless as to how to actually sync my objects. Is it as simple as if ([iphone Object] != [desktop object]) { //merge the two } I have the exact same object model used, I just basically want to know how to check if there are differences, and copy the ones that are different over. Anyone know of any sample code anywhere that would show this? Thanks so much.

  Hi, I have installed gitosis, but i have strange thing when i'm working with repos. In config i have [gitosis] [group gitosis-admin] writable = gitosis-admin members = me@server me@laptop [group prj1] writable = prj1 members = me@laptop and in /home/git/repositories i have created directory prj1.git with empty git repo. i can work with gitosis-admin from server and laptop without problems, but when i'm trying to git clone prj1 on my laptop i see $ git clone git@server:prj1.git Initialized empty Git repository in /Users/alec/temp/prj1/.git/ fatal: no matching remote head ok, lets push prj1 from laptop to server: $ git push origin master:refs/heads/master ERROR:gitosis.serve.main:Repository read access denied fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly Whats wrong?

• Scheme Formatting Help

  I've been working on a project for school that takes functions from a class file and turns them into object/classes. The assignment is all about object oriented programming in scheme. My problem however is that my code doesn't format right. The output it gives me whenever I give it a file to pass in wraps the methods of the class in a list, making it so that the class never really gets declared. I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the parenthesis wrapping the method list to remove. I would really appreciate any help. • Problem sending mail with simple .net application. Server refusal error.

  I have a very simple .net application for testing SMTP on .net. But i am receiving this weird error. "System.Net.Mail.SmtpException: Failure sending mail. --- System.Net.WebException: Unable to connect to the remote server --- System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it" SMTP server is remote and doesn't need any kind of authentication so i don't need credentials. But i can send mails from this computer with outlook using same smtp server and same smtp settings without any problem. Any ideas? It will be appreciated so much. • Microphone audio streaming from Cocoa mac app to iPhone

  Hi devs, I'm trying to build a microphone audio streamer to iPhone. The server software will be a mac desktop app and the client will be iPhone, and they are connected via tcp port. I've successfully connected the mac app and iPhone, and tried to send a fixed test.m4a audio file first. But at the iPhone i grabbed the data well, when tried to play it i used AVAudioPlayer and its returning OSStatus error. I played around with the audio queue service but its very tricky and i only got some example for fixed length audio playing like http://cocoawithlove.com/2009/06/revisiting-old-post-streaming-and.html Now i need help on two things, how can i continuously grab audio data from Mac desktop microphone? • Why is my router not routing?

  Starting a week and half ago my router stopped working with my cable modem. I went to sleep with it working and woke up with it not. I swapped in another router and am still having issues; I was gone for 10 days so now I'm back to trying to figure it out. While I was gone I left everything (cable modem, router, and computer) powered off. My setup: Comcast Ambit cable modem (from Comcast) Netgear WGR614 v4 router -- replaced with Linksys WRT54GS v1.1 Windows XP SP3 other computers, all currently unplugged The modem is using the firmware (ver 2.105.2001) provided by Comcast; hardware version 1.3 The Linksys router is using FW ver 4.71.4 (latest for this release of HW), factory defaults I am only using the wired connections; no wireless. I have swapped out all of the cat5 cable. If I plug my computer directly into the cable modem, I can ping by name or number. Everything works perfectly. If I plug my computer into the router and the router into the modem, I cannot access anything outside of my local network. This is the exact setup I've used for the past 5 years; there were no changes in the past year. Now here's the interesting part: I can log into the Linksys router and get status information from it; everything appears good. Using the Diagnostics, I can run ping and traceroute to any site on the internet. These work perfectly. From my computer, I can ping the router and the modem. However, I cannot ping anything on the internet by with name or number. If I plug in another computer, I can ping it successfully. I've included two transcripts below that show these two attempts. Addresses, DNS, gateways, etc. look good. I cannot access the internet through either router. I am at a loss here. Suggestions? Help! • java runtime 6 with socks v5 proxy - Possible?

  I have written an application that (amongst other things) runs a local service in windows that acts as a SOCKS v5 proxy for Firefox. I'm in the debugging phase right now and have found certain websites that don't work correctly. For example the Java Applet for Picture Uploading on Facebook.com fails because is is unable to lookup domains. My app overrides a hidden FF config setting network.proxy.socks__remote__dns setting it to true. The whole purpose of the app is to allow access to websites when behind a firewall (e.g. if the user is in China), so this setting is essential to ensure domains are resolved remotely also (and not just HTTP requests). In the JRE6 settings (documented here) there isn't an equivalent setting, and since remote DNS resolution is a feature of SOCKS v5 and not v4 as the documentation seems to imply I'm worried that it's just not possible. How can I programmatically make sure the JRE uses a SOCKS v5 proxy for all requests (including DNS)? UPDATE: Steps to reproduce this problem: Make sure you are behind a firewall that blocks (or redirects) internet access including DNS Install PuTTY and add a dynamic SSH tunnel on some port number of your choice (e.g. 9870). Then login to a remote server that has full access to the internet Launch Firefox and you will not be able to browse the web In FF network settings set the SOCKS v5 proxy to localhost:9870 In FF go to about:config, change network.proxy.socks__remote__dns to true You will now be able to browse the web. Go to facebook.com, login, go to your profile and attempt to use the picture uploader java applet to add some pictures It will fail with a series of class not found errors looking similar to: load: class com.facebook.facebookphotouploader5.FacebookPhotoUploader5.class not found. I believe this is failing because the JRE is unable to resolve the domain that the class resides on. I'm basing this belief on the fact that the documentation (http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/technotes/guides/deployment/deployment-guide/properties.html) talks only about SOCKS v4 (which as far as I know does not support remote DNS). My deployment.properties file is located in %APPDATA%\Sun\Java\Deployment. I can confirm that modifications I make in the Java Control Panel get written into that file. If instead of "Use browser setting" the network settings for Java I override and attempt to use the SOCKS proxy settings manually, I still have the issue. There does not seem to be an easy way to force the JRE to do DNS remotely through the Proxy. UPDATE 2: Without the SOCKS proxy, from my local client www.facebook.com resolves to 203.161.230.171 upload.facebook.com resolves to 64.33.88.161 Neither host is reachable (because of the firewall) If I login to the remote server, I get: www.facebook.com 69.63.187.17 upload.facebook.com 69.63.178.32 Both these IPs change after a few minutes, as it seems Facebook uses round-robin DNS and other load-balancing. With the Proxy settings set in Firefox, I can navigate to www.facebook.com without any difficulty (since DNS is being resolved remotely on the Proxy). Whey I go to the page with the Java applet it fails with the stacktrace messages I've already reported. However if I edit Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts, adding the correct IP for upload.facebook.com I can get the applet to load and work correctly (restart of FF is sometimes necessary). This evidence seems to support my theory that the Java Runtime is not resolving DNS on the Proxy, but instead just routing traffic though it. My application is for mass-deployment, and needs to work with java applets on other sites (not just facebook). I really need a work-around for this problem.   Hi, I am looking for a easy to use and deploy sql type database i can ship with a desktop application. This will be a small application user's can download from my website. In the vb6 days, access was the common database for small desktop apps, what is my option these days? Looking at SQL CE it seems to have a quite a few limitations such as count(distinct) etc SQL express needs to be installed and running as a service (could i include the SQL express deployments in my deployment so the user doesn't even know its been installed? I assume size would then be an issue) SQL 2005/2008 is not an option due to size and licensing restrictions. I would like to use c#, wpf and entity framework. What would seem to be the best options based on your knowledge and experience? Thanks

  My browsing and other 'internet' activity (dropbox,digsby etc) halts when I connect to my office VPN using Cisco Systems VPN client Version 5.0.04.0300 on my Windows 7 Ultimate.The only option left for me at this time is to use my office proxy to enable the connection back.   Hi, I've been looking and googling a lot, but I didn't find a solution to this problem. I was successfully using xrandr to extend my desktop in my work place with this little "script". #!/bin/sh xrandr --newmode 1920x1080 220.64 1920 2056 2264 2608 1080 1081 1084 1128 -HSync +Vsync xrandr --addmode VGA 1920x1080 xrandr --output VGA --mode 1920x1080 Everything was going well till one day that magically stop working. When I try to use it. I just get this message. X Error of failed request: BadName (named color or font does not exist) The laptop display resizes in a strange way, but nothing happens with the extended monitor. I've restored gnome desktop default config. I changed the font config, I tried with other layouts and monitors, but always occur the same. So any Idea will be welcomed. My best regards.

• interesting network or git problem

  I have a setup my own git repository with gitosis on dedicated debian server. The server is visible via port 22 from outside (the port 22 is forwarded from my router to my git server). On the local network the git repository works perfectly. The problem happens once I try to do "git clone.." from remote server. So once I do "git clone.." from remote I am getting git clone hung after cloning around 20-30% of the repository (small around 2MB) and I think this is the random percentage. I can do scp to and from the git server without any problems. Also as I mentioned the git clone, push, etc works perfectly within my internal network. Any idea how to debug this problem? thanks

  Hi I am using the ASIHTTPRequest source code to download a file from a remote location. Surprisingly, the download happens but nothing happens after that. I have put in a log statement in the handleBytesAvailable method and can see the entire file worth of data is downloaded in parts and added to the fileDownloadOutputStream variable.   Hi Guys, I've written a Python application that makes web requests using the urllib2 library after which it scrapes the data. I could deploy this as a web application which means all urllib2 requests go through my web-server. This leads to the danger of the server's IP being banned due to the high number of web requests for many users. The other option is to create an desktop application which I don't want to do. Is there any way I could deploy my application so that I can get my web-requests through the client side. One way was to use Jython to create an applet but I've read that Java applets can only make web-requests to the server it is deployed on and the only way to to circumvent this is to create a server side proxy which leads us back to the problem of the server's ip getting banned. This might sounds sound like and impossible situation and I'll probably end up creating a desktop application but I thought I'd ask if anyone knew of an alternate solution. Thanks.

• Layer 3 switch routing

  I need help moving over to using our layer 3 switch as the inter vlan routing device rather than our cisco router. I've mostly got it working but I've got stuck near the end and need some advice (I think I just need a bit of education on the subject really). Cur I have a Dell PowerConnect 7048 connecting to a Cisco 1841 router. I've got a few key excerpts from the configs to provide the key information. So what I'm doing is moving clients over so that their default gateway is a 172.31.x.254 address rather than a 172.31.x.1 address. This works great for inter-vlan routing, I have no issues with this. The switch can also access the router no worries, and users on the 172.31.14.0/24 network can access all interfaces and sub-interfaces on the router, including 172.31.14.1. They can also access all of the interfaces that the router connects off to, no worries there. The problem I have is that users on the 172.31.16.0/24 and 172.31.19.0/24 subnets cannot access either 172.31.14.1 or any of the subnets the router connects to. They can, however, connect to BOTH of the sub interfaces on the router from either subnet. What am I missing here? Why can't the vlans connect to the non-sub interface on the router? Are tagged packets being sent to this interface?

• UI Automation / Retrieve File Extension / C#

  Dear all, I am tasked with a project that requires me to retreieve a specific file from a folder where I can only get an X and Y on the screen. While in XP I managed to use the fact that windows explorer is in essence a list view, and used the WM_HITTEST message to obtain information about the file, in Windows 7, this is not the case. To solve this problem, I am using UI Automation, which is a great tool for such things, only problem is that in the case, the windows handle I am looking at belongs to the desktop, and the desktop might have several files with the same name but with different extensions (and windows is configured to "hide extensions of known file types") UI automation does not return the extension back to me. I have tried many things, but I cannot find any robust solution which would give me 100% success. Has anyone tried this? successfully? Would appreciate any pointers. Many thanks,

  I'm trying to get connected to another ASA via Cisco VPN Client. I am behind an ASA 5505 myself and I am tryihng to VPN to a 5510. I get the message: Secure VPN Connection terminated locally by the Client. Reason 412: The remote peer is no longer responding. I can connect to the other ASA if I use a normal cheap Linksys. • Host a streaming video in my client, from a streaming url that is behind a login session?

  I am building a Silverlight 4 desktop client to show streaming video from a site that is login based. So that website has a Silverlight player that does streaming video, the player is behind a login sesion, so just by getting the url from fiddler and trying to play it in my Silverlight 4 desktop client won't work. Actually after that, I want to build a Windows Media Center plugin to build a Netflix-like client, that allows login through WMC and then allows you to watch streaming video. Any pointers on how to go about doing any of this?

  Hi, i have part of Asp.NET 1.1 project. I work with remote site, which works incorrect in some cases - sometimes it write incorrect Content-Encoding header. In my code i get HttpResponse from this remote site. And if Content-Encoding header is equals, for example, "gzip", i need to set Content-Encoding header to "deflate". But there is no properties or methods in HttpResponse class to get Content-Encoding header. Content-Encoding property returns, in my case, "UTF-8". In Watch window i see _customProperties field, which contain wrong string value. How can i change header value with Asp.NET 1.1?

• Using MobileMe idisk as a git repository

  I am trying to use git and MobileMe as a version control system for a personal project I am working across several computers. So far i have done the following. Created and empty bare repository on my local computer $ mkdir myproject.git $ cd myproject.git $ git init --bare $ git update-server-info I then copied the myproject.git directory to the mobile me disk, and sync my computer with mobile me. I then switched to the directory where my project was on my local machine, set the remote origin and try to push the local repository to mobile me $ cd myproject $ git remote add origin https://<username>@idisk.me.com/<username>/myproject.git/ $ git push --all Im am then asked for my password twice. The first time is the mobile me password, any other password gets an error. After entering the second password, and believe me i've tried everything, terminal just hangs. So what am I doing wrong?
