• Regex help with Google Page Monitor extension

  I'm trying to monitor a small section of a web page for changes using the the Google Page Monitor extension -- https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/pemhgklkefakciniebenbfclihhmmfcd Under advanced settings I can use either Regex or Selectors to accomplish this, but need help with this. In the following html, I'd like to monitor the following for changes in either the URL in line 4 or the text in line 5. • How to remove this bottom bar in UITabBar?

  I am trying to do some customization on UITabBar. I am almost done with everything. However, I saw a small bar on the bottom of each UITabBarItem. I don't know what object it is. Can someone please tell me how to remove it? Or if someone can tell me how to make the UIImage inside the UITabBarItem to be displayed in front of that unknown bar. It is good enough. Cannot post image due to insufficient reputation.

• [ASP.NET MVC] Problem with View - it does not refresh after db update

  Hi, I am working with small ASP.NET MVC project - online store. I have addToCart method which adds selected product to cart - it updates cart table in my db and showing cart view with its content. But I have problems. while db is updating correctly the view does not. I see that quantity of the product in my db is incremented correctly but quantity in view is not changed. I have to stop debugging my app in visual studia and restart it - then my view is showing correct data. What can be wrong?

  I know this question was here a lot of times and can't be answered at all, but im not looking for a single name, but rather for an advice in my situation. I learned programming with Java and now I'm developing in Java for more or less 5 years (at the university) and I thinks my programming skills their are really ok/average. I have also small experience in C/C++ and C#. Now I have some spare time and I'd like to learn a new language or deepen the knowledge of Java/C/C++. But how to choose the right language to learn? I'd like to learn a language which will be usefull in the future concerning working in a software development business? I know there is no single answer, but I'm sure you could mention some languages that are more usefull than others.

  I'm having a small trouble since it was a long time ago i studies databases and querys. For example i'll have two tables for cd:s, one with data and one with alternative translations. In the CD-table i have the original language, and it looks something like this Table for CDs (cds): id | name | language ----------------------- 1 | aaa | en 2 | bbb | en 3 | ccc | fi Table for languages (languages): cd_id | language | name ----------------------- 1 | fi | AAA 1 | de | AAACHTUNG 3 | en | CCC Now, i want to get all these cd:s in for example german, if there's no translation made i want it to be in the original language... • Windows 8 Set User Account Image

  I'm trying to write a small CONSOLE (not metro style) app to quickly change the user account image of the current user to a select image for a setup scrip that I'm running on a bunch of laptops. They're all Windows 8 and (since it hasn't been out terribly long) I can't find a ton of info on it. I did manage to figure out that you need to use the Windows.System.UserProfile object to do so, but I can't find any documentation on how to do so in a console app. Thoughts? Suggestions?

• How to skip image tag in html data in android?

  My data in db is stored in html format along with image tags in it. So when I am getting the data from database I am removing the html tags and setting it to textview. My problem is even after removing the html tags, there is a small square box displaying in the emulator indicating that there is some image. How can I remove those square box in emulator which is an indication of image in that html data? Help me regarding this... Thanks in advance My Code: textView.setText(Html.fromHtml(htmlString));

• Django Project Done and Working. Now What?

  Hi, I just finished what I would call a small django project and pretty soon it's going live. It's only 6 models but a fairly complex view layer and a lot of records saving and retrieving. Of course, forgetting the obvious huge amount of bugs that will, probably, fill my inbox to the top, what would it be the next step towards a website with best performance. What could be tweaked? I'm using jmeter a lot recently and feel confident that I have a good baseline for future performance comparisons, but the thing is: I'm not sure what is the best start, since I'm a greedy bastard that wants to work the least possible and gather the best results. For instance, should I try an approach towards infrastructure, like a distributed database, or should I go with the code itself and in that case, is there something that specifically results in better performance? In your experience, whats pays off more? Personal anecdotes are welcome, but some fact based opinions are even more. :) Thanks very much.

• Problem in the Android documentation

  Hi all, This is my first post ever -- I love the Android SDK (been at it for a week), but I did notice a small typo in the official documentation that needs correcting. Not sure if this is where I post it, but on this page: http://developer.android.com/reference/android/os/CountDownTimer.html within the example source code, the source says "CountdownTimer" on line one when it should say "CountDownTimer" (notice the capitalization of the letter "D"). An easy fix for one with programming experience, but the code as written will not compile, which could be confusing for someone using this code for the first time. Is this where documentation bugs are submitted, and if not, where should I go to request the fix? Thanks all!

  I've been struggling this for a while and I simply can't figure this out. Instead the link is the end value of the foreach list.

• XCode Project Code Changes Not Updating 100% After Save-Build-Run

  When I make code changes to my iPhone game project in XCode, and then do CMD-B + Enter, I expect the project to be saved, build and run on the simulator with the latest. What is happening though, sometimes, is that it doesn't pick up a small change I make unless I clean the project and then build. I'm a long time Java person and newish to C-based languages and it's compiler. Can someone explain to me what is cached after each build that does this and how to change my project settings to avoid having to clean everytime? Or tell me the bad news that this is part of C development? Not trying to bash it - I get compiled JSPs stuck in the working cache often in Java, too. :P

  Hey everyone, I'm making small interactive games in flash to learn AS3, now I ran into a problem that I need some help with. I need to check the collision between the player and the wall which is normally simple using the hitTestObject function. But now I made a wall object totally surrounding the player with corridors and turn, a collision playground so to speak. Now when I use the hitTestObject function to check whether the player is in collision with the wall it tells me it always collides supposedly because the player object is within the bounds of the wall object. So assuming that I'm correct about the error: How can I prevent getting a collision when I'm inside the bounds of the wall object but not touching the actual walls in that object?

• App delegate doesn't work after starting using Storyboards -iOS

  I have a small problem with my game.. I wanna stop my game whenever it's interrupted. My stopGame method was working when I called it in applicationWillResignActive when I was using xib files. When I changed it to storyboards, it stopped working.. applicationWillResignActive still works with storyboards and my stopGame method is called, but for some reason, my game does not stop.. Has someone faced a problem like this? And possible solutions please.. Thanks in advance..

• How often does memcache on Google AppEngine lose data?

  Memcache in general and on AppEngine in specific is unreliable in the sense that my data may be deleted from the cache for whatever reason at any point in time. However, in some cases there might be cases where a small risk may be worth the added performance using memcache could give, such as updating some data in memcache that gets saved periodically to some other, more reliable storage. Are there any numbers from Google that could give me an indication of the actual probability that a memcache entry would be lost from the cache before its expiration time, given that I keep within my quotas? Are there any reasons other than hardware failure and administrative operations such as machines at the data centers being upgraded/moved/replaced that would cause entries to be removed from memcache prematurely?

• c++: at what point should I start using "new char[N]" vs a static buffer "char[Nmax]"

  My question is with regard to C++ Suppose I write a function to return a list of items to the caller. Each item has 2 logical fields: 1) an int ID, and 2) some data whose size may vary, let's say from 4 bytes up to 16Kbytes. So my question is whether to use a data structure like: struct item { int field1; char field2[MAX_LEN]; OR, rather, to allocate field2 from the heap, and require the caller to destroy when he's done: struct item{ int field1; char *field2; // new char[N] -- destroy[] when done! Since the max size of field #2 is large, is makes sense that this would be allocated from the heap, right? So once I know the size N, I call field2 = new char[N], and populate it. Now, is this horribly inefficient? Is it worse in cases where N is always small, i.e. suppose I have 10000 items that have N=4?

• AS3/AIR: Managing Run-Time Image Data

  I'm developing a game with AS3 and AIR. I will have a large-ish quantity of images that I need to load for display elements. It would be nice not to embed all of the images that the game needs, thereby avoiding having them all in memory at once. That's okay in smaller projects, but doesn't make sense here. I'm curious about strategies for loading images during run time. Since all of the files are quite small and local ( in my current project ) loading them on request might be the best solution, but I'd like to hear what ideas people have for managing this. For bonus points, I'm also curious about solutions for loading images on-demand server-side as well.

• Is there a tool that automatically saves incremental changes to files while coding?

  One of my favorite features of Google docs is the fact that it's constantly automatically saving versions of my document as I work. This means that even if I forget to save at a certain point before making a critical change there's a good chance that a save point has been created automatically. At the very least, I can return the document to a state prior to the mistaken change and continue working from that point. Is there a tool with an equivalent feature for a Ruby coder running on Mac OS (or UNIX)? For example, a tool that will do an automatic Git check-in every couple of minutes to my local repository for the files I'm working on. Maybe I'm paranoid, but this small bit of insurance could put my mind at ease during my day-to-day work.

  Hey all, Working in a team environment, each one of us has put together our own list of SQL statements that we use to help with our day to day job functions. As the case often is, there may be some redundancy with this, and we are often in need of each other's statements. To circumvent this, I'm looking to put together a small app that can be used to store and search for these SQL statements. To begin with, I'm keeping it basic, just storing and searching the statements. This may build out to be the actual execution at some point in the future, but I'm not concerning myself with this at the time. This will be built with PHP and MySQL - Should I store the SQL as text, or is there something that I need to be concerned with?

• How to save a stretched image ?

  Hi, How can I save a stretched image? I have a small(50 X 50) image, that I have stretched while displaying it on a UIImageView (by choosing scaletofit mode.) Now I need to fetch & save that stretched image. I have tried by using UIImageView's image property, but it gives me original image not that stretched image.   Hi, I was trying to write a small debug utility and for this I need to get the function/global variable address given its name. This is built-in debug utility, which means that the debug utility will run from within the code to be debugged or in plain words I cannot parse the executable file. Now is there a well-known way to do that ? The plan I have is to make the .debug_* sections to to be loaded into to memory [which I plan to do by a cheap trick like this in ld script] .data { *(.data) __sym_start = .; (debug_); __sym_end = .; } Now I have to parse the section to get the information I need, but I am not sure this is doable or is there issues with this - this is all just theory. But it also seems like too much of work :-) is there a simple way. Or if someone can tell upfront why my scheme will not work, it ill also be helpful. Thanks in Advance, Alex.

• Easiest way to keep SSRS child elements in the same relative position when the parent is re-positioned?

  I am trying to revise the layout of an SSRS report where I have several textboxes that are child elements of a rectangle. When I reposition the parent rectangle down by x, all of the child textboxes maintain the same absolute position. Their "Location" (defined relative to the parent) decreases by x. I then need to reposition the child textboxes. Additionally, if any of these ever has a negative "Location" then the parent rectangle is then repositioned back up by x. What is the easiest way to move everything in unison? I can Control-click everything and then drag them or use the arrow keys, but I want to position everything with precision and the "Location" field in the Properties window disappears when selecting more than one item. Is there a way I can avoid individually computing and typing in every "Location" value every time I have a small layout change? I am using SSRS (11.0.3360.12) within the Visual Studio 2012 Shell.   Hello SO! I am working on a small project and am playing with date() and mktime() in PHP. Compare the two code blocks and their output, notice the second sample adds one to the month in it's first mktime. $monthis = 5; echo date('F', mktime(0,0,0,$monthis,0,0)) . " 1, 2010 is on a " . date("l F", mktime(0, 0, 0, $monthis, 1, 2010)); puts out April 1, 2010 is on a Saturday May but if I change it to $monthis = 5; echo date('F', mktime(0,0,0,$monthis + 1,0,0)) . " 1, 2010 is on a " . date("l F", mktime(0, 0, 0, $monthis, 1, 2010)); puts out May 1, 2010 is on a Saturday May Why do I have to add one to the month in the first mktime so that both emit the same month? Any help or clarity would be appreciated. Thanks :)
