The same happens for {0:u} or {0:s}. Any help would be gratefully received. :)

  Hello, I came across something strange when creating an edit form with MVC 2. i realised that my error messages come up on form sumission even when i have filled ut valid data! i am using a buddy class which i have configured correctly ( i know that cos i can see my custom errors). • MVC2 Client validation with Annotations in View with RenderAction

  I'm having problem with client side validation on a View that renders a dropdownlist with help of a Html.RenderAction. I have two controllers. SpecieController and CatchController and I've created ViewModels for my views. I want to keep it as DRY as possible and I will most probably need a DropDownList for all Specie elsewhere in the near future. When I create a Catch i need to set a relationship to one specie, I do this with an id that I get from the DropDownList of Species. ViewModels.Catch.Create [Required] public int Length { get; set; } [Required] public int Weight { get; set; } [Required] [Range(1, int.MaxValue)] public int SpecieId { get; set; } ViewModels.Specie.List public DropDownList(IEnumerable<SelectListItem> species) { this.Species = species; } public IEnumerable<SelectListItem> Species { get; private set; } My View for the Catch.Create action uses the ViewModels.Catch.Create as a model. But it feels that I'm missing something in the implemetation. What I want in my head is to connect the selected value in the DropDownList that comes from the RenderAction to my SpecieId.   Hi. Going mad now. I have a MVC solution that i've upgraded from MVC 1 to 2. It all works fine.... except the Validation! The model is being populated correctly however. Therefore, if I leave both username and password blank, and post the form the model state is still valid. Argh! Extra info: using structure map for IoD. Previously, before upgrading to MVC 2 was using the MS data annotation library so had this in my global.asax.cs: ModelBinders.Binders.DefaultBinder = new Microsoft.Web.Mvc.DataAnnotations.DataAnnotationsModelBinder(); Have removed that now. I'm sure i'm doing something really basic and wrong. If someone could point it out that would be marvellous. Cheers

  So I have two models, Person and Film where they're in a many to many relationship. My goal is to grab a film, and output the persons that have also appeared in at least 10 films. For example I can get the count individually by: >>> Person.objects.get(short__istartswith = "Matt Damon").film_set.count() 71 However, if I try to filter all the actors of a particular film out: >>> Film.objects.get(name__istartswith="Saving Private Ryan").actors.all().annotate(film_count=Count('film')).filter(film_count__gte=10) [] it returns an empty set since if I manually look at everyone's film_count it's 1, even though an actor such as Matt Damon (as seen above) has been in 71 films in my db.   I have to find out in which exact format JCIFS stores the user principal in the "getUserPrincipal()" property. Therefor i created a test Environment like this: Windows Server 2008 Domain Controller Domain named "MYDOMAIN" Many Testusers in Active Directory Tomcat Application Server with my Web Application (which simply reads the user Principal and displays its values). The user should be logged in to the web-application with SSO therefor i need the format that jcifs is using to store the user. (For example user@MYDOMAIN or MYDOMAIN\user...) I tested the Authentication with other SSO frameworks with Kerberos Method and it works as expected. I'm now trying to use SSO through the NTLMHttpFilter of JCIFS. So what i also have to configure is the same policy on the client computer. I have to change the policy, so that the client computer sends NTLMv1. But it is always sending NTLMv2 tokens. The problem now is that i'm somehow not able to change this setting. (I already was before) because the dropdown box to choose the authentication method is "greyed out". edit: just to make this clear, this dialog is on the client-side in the "local-security policies" As you can see from this screenshot, the chosen method is "Only send NTLMv2 responses" which is the wrong setting and i'm pretty sure that this is causing the error above. My question is now, why can't i change this setting? Why is it greyd out?

  Hello im installing a fresh Jboss 5.1 in a Centos 5.5 machine. I dont have Apache installed.   Okay, hope you can help med here :) I have been searching everywhere to figure this out, but haven't had any luck. I know about Annotations and how to overlay them on a map on the iPhone. But what if I have location like in the forest where there arent any roads or anything. What I am asking is, how can I overlay a custom image (map) over the Map view so that it zooms the right way like the map, in the right scale, and can I add my own annotations on top of the custom image/map? My current solution is to create a validation service that checks the model state for field errors then remove said errors and add them back using the specific language I'd like.

• How to handle JPA annotations for a pointer to a generic interface

  I have a generic class that is also a mapped super class that has a private field that holds a pointer to another object of the same type: @MappedSuperclass public abstract class MyClass<T extends MyIfc<T>> implements MyIfc<T> { @OneToOne() @JoinColumn(name = "previous", nullable = true) private T previous; ... } My problem is that Eclipse is showing an error in the file at the OneToOne "Target Entity "T" for previous is not an Entity." All of the implementations of MyIfc are, in fact, Entities. I should also add that each concrete implementation that inherit from MyClass uses a different value for T (because T is itself) so I can't use the "targetEntity" attribute. I guess if there is no answer then I'll have to move this JPA annotation to all the concrete subclasses of MyClass. It just seems like JPA/Hibernate should be smart enough to know it'll all work out at run-time. Makes me wonder if I should just ignore this error somehow.

This is horrible. I've specified the identifierGenerator as "Auto". Please see the above code. As a sidenote, I was trying to debug and seeing how the objects are getting retrieved from the database. Looks like the enrollmentgroupmembership records have the tierweight value populated. However if I look at the tierweight object, it doesn't have the enrollmentgroupmembership records. I'm puzzled.   After searching and experimenting for 2 days I relent. What I'd like to do is manually wire up injected html with jquery validation. I'm getting a simple string array back from the server and creating a select with the strings as options. The static fields on the form are validating fine. • Frequent occurence of FULL GC.

  Hi, There is a frequent occurence of FULL GC in our system. We are using Java application running on Tomcat server. Our application is running using internal load balancer setup. We are seeing lot of Full GC's in the server logs due to which the application is hung and Proxy errors are occured. The Java parameter values we are using are: Webapp wrapper: wrapper.java.additional.4=-Xms382M wrapper.java.additional.5=-Xmx1024M Backapp wrapper: wrapper.java.additional.4=-Xms382M wrapper.java.additional.5=-Xmx1024M The error found in webapp wrapper logs: INFO | jvm 1 | 2010/11/26 09:33:19 | [PSYoungGen: 1398460K-140291K(1514624K)] 4623364K-3491394K(5009920K), 0.7285303 secs] [Times: user=1.42 sys=0.00, real=0.72 secs] INFO | jvm 1 | 2010/11/26 09:33:19 | 68539.126: [Full GC DEBUG | wrapperp | 2010/11/26 09:33:19 | send a packet PING : ping Tried to change the JVM values to increase the heap size. But of no use. I suspect that there could be some other reason other than these parameters which is causing the issue. Can anyone please help me on this?

• Data Annotations validation Built into model

  I want to build an object model that automatically wires in validation when I attempt to save an object. I am using DataAnnotations for my validation, and it all works well, but I think my inheritance is whacked. I am looking here for some guidance on a better way to wire in my validation. So, to build in validation I have this interface public interface IValidatable { bool IsValid { get; } ValidationResponse ValidationResults { get; } void Validate(); } Then, I have a base class that all my objects inherit from. I did a class because I wanted to wire in the validation calls automatically. The issue is that the validation has to know the type of the class is it validating. So I use Generics like so. public class CoreObjectBase<T> : IValidatable where T : CoreObjectBase<T> { #region IValidatable Members public virtual bool IsValid { get { // First, check rules that always apply to this type var result = new Validator<T>().Validate((T)this); // return false if any violations occurred return !result.HasViolations; } } public virtual ValidationResponse ValidationResults { get { var result = new Validator<T>().Validate((T)this); return result; } } public virtual void Validate() { // First, check rules that always apply to this type var result = new Validator<T>().Validate((T)this); // throw error if any violations were detected if (result.HasViolations) throw new RulesException(result.Errors); } #endregion } So, I have this circular inheritance statement. My classes look like this then: public class MyClass : CoreObjectBase<MyClass> { } But the problem occurs when I have a more complicated model. Because I can only inherit from one class, when I have a situation where inheritance makes sense I believe the child classes won't have validation on their properties. public class Parent : CoreObjectBase<Parent> { //properties validated } public class Child : Parent { //properties not validated? } I haven't really tested the validation in these cases yet, but I am pretty sure that anything in child with a data annotation on it will not be automatically validated when I call Child.Validate(); due to the way the inheritance is configured. Is there a better way to do this?
