  • How do I do OuterHTML in firefox?

    Part of my code I get the OuterHTML propery "<LI onclick="TabClicked(this, 'SearchName', 'TabGroup1');">Name " so I can do stuff involing parsing it. There is no OuterHTML property in javascript on firefox though and I can't find an alternative way to get this string. Ideas?

    I have an ASP button for which I have set the OnClientClick property to display a javascript confirm message. However, I only want this message to be displayed AFTER all of the client side validations have passed. How can I do this? Essentially, I believe that I need to force Page level validation from the client and then, only if it passes, display the confirmation box.

    Hello, I'm experiencing something really strange with my javascript in chrome with Date().format. If I use the console and type: d = new Date(Date.parse("2010-05-28")) d.format("yyyy-MM-dd"); "" d._toFormattedString(); "Fri May 28 2010 00:00:00 GMT+0200 (W. Europe Daylight Time)" Anyone got any clue why I get an empty string? And it's only in Chrome, didn't happen in Chrome 4, and it doesn't happen in IE8/Firefox3.5

    Can I create an event so I can execute some javascript whenever an element with a specific ID becomes visible or appears on the page? The element comes from a remote resource (so isn't in MY html code but appears on page load) and I'd like some code to run when it appears (and only if it appears, it may not appear every load). When we scroll that page down, older posts will be added to the end of the page (and maybe some posts at the beginning of the page but outside the view port will be removed). My questions are: - how to know if the user scrolls down/up with javascript/jQuery? - how to know if the user is at the top of the page (they click Ctrl + Home)? Thank you.

Are units of 770 is pixels and 210 is mm ? Similarly, when I write $(document).height() and $(window).height() , there is a difference . What is the reason ?

    i have a parent window and a child window. in javascript, i want a function in child window to be called whenever the parent window loads a new page. i'd like to use something similar to jQuery's $(document).ready() so that I don't have to worry about whether the parent is done loading yet - but ready() only appears to fire when the window loads the first page - but not when, say, a link is clicked in the parent and it loads a second page. any suggestions? thanks.

    I am working on a project that runs in Chrome in full-screen mode and displays data that can be edited and interacted with. It makes AJAX calls(using jQuery) frequently that cause a loading notification in the lower left-hand corner on the bottom of the screen to pop up. These notifications are distracting when you are viewing the display and I would like to remove/prevent Chrome from displaying these loading notifications at all. Is it possible to prevent these notification by any means, or perhaps even mask the javascript that causes these notifications?
