  • Many to many self join through junction table

    I have an EF model that can self-reference through an intermediary class to define a parent/child relationship. I know how to do a pure many-to-many relationship using the Map command, but for some reason going through this intermediary class is causing problems with my mappings. The intermediary class provides additional properties for the relationship. See the classes, modelBinder logic and error below: public class Equipment { [Key] public int EquipmentId { get; set; } public virtual List<ChildRecord> Parents { get; set; } public virtual List<ChildRecord> Children { get; set; } } public class ChildRecord { [Key] public int ChildId { get; set; } [Required] public int Quantity { get; set; } [Required] public Equipment Parent { get; set; } [Required] public Equipment Child { get; set; } } I've tried building the mappings in both directions, though I only keep one set in at a time: modelBuilder.Entity<ChildRecord>() .HasRequired(x => x.Parent) .WithMany(x => x.Children ) .WillCascadeOnDelete(false); modelBuilder.Entity<ChildRecord>() .HasRequired(x => x.Child) .WithMany(x => x.Parents) .WillCascadeOnDelete(false); OR modelBuilder.Entity<Equipment>() .HasMany(x => x.Parents) .WithRequired(x => x.Child) .WillCascadeOnDelete(false); modelBuilder.Entity<Equipment>() .HasMany(x => x.Children) .WithRequired(x => x.Parent) .WillCascadeOnDelete(false); Regardless of which set I use, I get the error: The foreign key component 'Child' is not a declared property on type 'ChildRecord'. Verify that it has not been explicitly excluded from the model and that it is a valid primitive property. when I try do deploy my ef model to the database. If I build it without the modelBinder logic in place then I get two ID columns for Child and two ID columns for Parent in my ChildRecord table. This makes sense since it tries to auto create the navigation properties from Equipment and doesn't know that there are already properties in ChildRecord to fulfill this need.     OKay I lost alsmost the whole day on this. I have a webapp where I would like to add AXIS2 and start working. I added AxisServlets in the web.xml file like - <servlet> <servlet-name>AxisServlet</servlet-name> <display-name>Apache-Axis Servlet</display-name> <servlet-class>org.apache.axis2.transport.http.AxisServlet</servlet-class> <load-on-startup>2</load-on-startup> </servlet> <servlet-mapping> <servlet-name>AxisServlet</servlet-name> <url-pattern>/services/*</url-pattern> </servlet-mapping> I also added Services.xml file like <service name="ReportViewerService"> <description> This is a sample Web Service for illustrating Attachments API of Axis2 </description> <parameter name="ServiceClass">myclass</parameter> <operation name="getReport"> <actionMapping>urn:getReport</actionMapping> <messageReceiver class="org.apache.axis2.rpc.receivers.RPCMessageReceiver"/> </operation> </service> The directory structure is as mentioned here WEB-ING | - conf | |- axis2.xml |-lib | |- all libs |-services |-ReportViewerService | - META-INF |-services.xml |- web.xml The problem is - after all of these, the service endpoint will not come, I can not see the WSDL file http://localhost:8080/BOReportingServer/services/ReportViewerService?wsdl -- this gives an exception like - Throwable occurred: javax.servlet.ServletException: File &quot;/axis2-web/listSingleService.jsp&quot; not found

  • Installing WindowsAuthentication breaks authentication / web.config?

    I have a clean Windows 2008 R2 box (on a VM) and have installed IIS 7.5 with default options. I then copied a website to it (from Windows 7, IIS 7) and after a little tweaking the website is working fine. The website is currently using and working with Anonymous Authentication. I have gone back to the Windows Components/Sever Manager, Roles - Security and ticked and installed Windows Authentication. When I check my server in IIS (top level above sites) - Authentication, I see Anonymous Authentication (enabled) ASP.NET Impersonation (disabled) Forms Authentication (disbaled) Windows Authentication (enabled) When I check my default website - Authentication, I see as above but "Retrieving status" and an error dialog saying There was an error while performing this operation. Details: Filename c:\inetpub\wwwroot\screwturnwiki\web.config Line number: 96 Error: This configuration section cannot be used in this path. This happens when the section is being locked at the parent level. Locking is either by default (overriderModeDefault="Deny"), or set explicity by a location tag with overrideMode="Deny" or the legacy allowOverride="False". I have tried hand editing the web.config with no success. (How to use locking in IIS7 Configuration) UN-installing Windows Authentication happily returns my site to working with Anonymous Authentication, and allows me to enable/disable these three options. FYI. I am using ScrewTurnWiki with the Active Directory plug in.   • IIS7 - Lock Violation error, HTTP handlers, modules, and the <clear /> element

    I have an ASP.NET site that uses its own set of HTTP handlers and does not need any modules. So, in IIS6, all I had to do was this in my web.config: <httpModules> <clear /> </httpModules> However, if I try to do the same in the system.webServer area for IIS7, I get a 500 error when I try to view the site, and in IIS manager when I try to view the handler mappings, I get a popup box with the message: There was an error while performing this operation Details: Filename: \?\C:\Sites\TheWebSiteGoesHere\web.config Line number: 39 Error: Lock violation Line 39 is where the <clear /> element is. Some googling led me to a solution involving running this command: %windir%\system32\inetsrv\appcmd.exe unlock config -section:system.webServer/modules ...but that did not solve the problem.

  • Invalid or expired security context token in WCF web service

    All, I have a WCF web service (let's called service "B") hosted under IIS using a service account (VM, Windows 2003 SP2). The service exposes an endpoint that use WSHttpBinding with the default values except for maxReceivedMessageSize, maxBufferPoolSize, maxBufferSize and some of the time outs that have been increased. The web service has been load tested using Visual Studio Load Test framework with around 800 concurrent users and successfully passed all tests with no exceptions being thrown. The proxy in the unit test has been created from configuration. There is a sharepoint application that use the Office Sharepoint Server Search service to call web services "A" and "B". The application will get data from service "A" to create a request that will be sent to service "B". The response coming from service "B" is indexed for search. The proxy is created programmatically using the ChannelFactory. When service "A" takes less than 10 minutes, the calls to service "B" are successfull. But when service "A" takes more time (~20 minutes) the calls to service "B" throw the following exception: Exception Message: An unsecured or incorrectly secured fault was received from the other party. See the inner FaultException for the fault code and detail Inner Exception Message: The message could not be processed. This is most likely because the action 'namespace/OperationName' is incorrect or because the message contains an invalid or expired security context token or because there is a mismatch between bindings. The security context token would be invalid if the service aborted the channel due to inactivity. To prevent the service from aborting idle sessions prematurely increase the Receive timeout on the service endpoint's binding. The binding settings are the same, the time in both client server and web service server are synchronize with the Windows Time service, same time zone. When i look at the server where web service "B" is hosted i can see the following security errors being logged: Source: Security Category: Logon/Logoff Event ID: 537 User NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Logon Failure: Reason: An error occurred during logon Logon Type: 3 Logon Process: Kerberos Authentication Package: Kerberos Status code: 0xC000006D Substatus code: 0xC0000133 After reading some of the blogs online, the Status code means STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE and the substatus code means STATUS_TIME_DIFFERENCE_AT_DC. but i already checked both server and client clocks and they are syncronized. I also noticed that the security token seems to be cached somewhere in the client server because they have another process that calls the web service "B" using the same service account and successfully gets data the first time is called. Then they start the proccess to update the office sharepoint server search service indexes and it fails. Then if they called the first proccess again it will fail too. Has anyone experienced this type of problems or have any ideas? Regards, --Damian

    Hi We use Kentico CMS and I've exchanged emails with them about a web garden deployment. We have a single site running on a server with 8 cpu cores. In line with Kentico's advice, we have not altered the application pool web garden setting from the default i.e. it is set to a maximum number of worker processes of 1. Our experience is that the site only uses one of the cpu cores - the others are idling. When I emailed them about this, their response was that the OS/IIS would handle this and use other cores as necessary even though the application pool only has a single worker process. Now, I've a lot of respect for the guys at Kentico, but this doesn't seem right to me? Surely, if we want to use all cores, we need to permit eight worker processes (and implement session state storage in SQL server)? Many thanks Tony

  • SQL Subquery in LINQ for Entity Framework 4.0

    I'm new to LINQ and EF, but I've been able to stumble through for the majority of the queries I have, but this one has me completely confused. No matter what I try, it comes up in SQL Profiler as a big mess :-). I have two tables: Users and UsersProjects. The goal of this query is to list all the users who are working on projects with the specified user. Here is the query as I have it written in SQL. It's a subquery, but I don't know of a way to simplify it further, but I'm open to suggestions there as well. SELECT DISTINCT Users.FirstName, Users.LastName FROM Users INNER JOIN UsersProjects ON Users.ID=UsersProjects.UserID WHERE UsersProjects.ProjectID IN (SELECT ProjectID FROM UsersProjects WHERE UserID=@UserID) Anybody able to help??     Hi Guys, I was having issues in log4net when i updated my solutions to .net 4.0 , and then i downloaded the source of it and built log4net and targeted it to .net 4.0 and used it in my projects. initially when i referred log4net that is targeted to run time 2.0 it complied and run the application but log did not work. now when i run my project with log4net targeted to .net 4.0 i get the error " The type initializer for 'Log4NetTest.TestLog' threw an exception." Any Idea how to solve this

    In ASP.net web service if the above isn't specified , what is the response format by default? Also, if my web service below: [WebMethod()] public List<Sample> GenerateSamples(string[][] data) { ResultsFactory f = new ResultsFactory(data); List<Sample> samples = f.GenerateSamples(); return samples; } returns the list of objects, If I change the response format to JSON, I have to change the return type to string, then how do I access objects in my javascript? Currently I call this web service in my JS such as: $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "http://localhost/TemplateWebService/Service.asmx/GenerateSamples", data: jsonText, contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", dataType: "json", success: function(response) { var samples = (typeof response.d) == 'string' ? eval('(' + response.d + ')') : response.d; if (samples.length > 0) { doSomethingHere(samples); } else { alert("No samples have been generated"); } }, error: function(xhr, status, error) { var msg = JSON.parse(xhr.responseText); alert(msg.Message); } }); What i noticed though, even though everything works perfectly fine, the eval statement never gets executed, which means that the web service always returns a string! So my question is, is [ScriptMethod(ResponseFormat = ResponseFormat.Json)] necessary on the web service definition side? The way things are now, I can use samples array and access each object and its properties as I normally would in any OOP code, which is very convenient, and everything works no problem, but I just wanted to make sure that I am not missing anything in my set up. I took the basics of combining Jquery's ajax with asp.net from Encosia side, and the response type wasn't mentioned there - I read it on another site and am I not sure how vital it is.

  • How can I beta test web Perl modules under Apache/mod_perl on production web server?

    We have a setup where most code, before being promoted to full production, is deployed in BETA mode - meaning, it runs in full production environment (using production database - usually production data; and production web server). We call that stage BETA testing. One of the main requirements is that BETA code promotion to production must be a simple "cp" command from beta to production directory - no code/filename changes. For non-web Perl code, achieving seamless BETA test is quite doable (see details here): Perl programs live in a standard location under production root (/usr/code/scripts) with production perl modules living under the same root (/usr/code/lib/perl) The BETA code has 100% same code paths except under beta root (/usr/code/beta/) A special module manipulates @INC of any script based on whether the script was called from /usr/code/scripts or /usr/code/test/scripts, to include beta libraries for beta scripts. This setup works fine up till we need to beta test our web Perl code (the setup is EmbPerl and Apache/mod_perl). The hang-up is as follows: if both a production Perl module and BETA Perl module have the same name (e.g. /usr/code/lib/perl/MyLib1.pm and /usr/code/beta/lib/perl/MyLib1.pm), then mod_perl will only be able to load ONE of these modules into memory - and there's no way we are aware of for a particular web page to affect which version of the module is currently loaded due to concurrency issues. Leaving aside the obvious non-programming solution (get a bloody BETA web server) which for political/organizational reasons is not feasible, is there any way we can somehow hack around this problem in either Perl or mod_perl? I played around with various approaches to unloading Perl modules that %INC has listed, but the problem remains that another user might load a beta page at just the right (or rather wrong) moment and have the beta module loaded which will be used for my production page.

    I have a web service which implements WS-Security but does not define a policy in the WSDL. I am able to consume this web service successfully using Axis 2 as client. I am trying to consume the same web service using Metro 2 but the wsse:security headers are not going. It works only if the service defines the security policy which is not under my control. I tested this by creating a sample web service and unless I define the policy my metro client never sends the wsse:security headers. Is there anything I am missing using Metro?

    Starting new project using EJB 3 / JPA, mainly stateless session beans and batch jobs. I've used JUnit in the past on standard Java webapps and it seemed to work pretty well. In EJB2 unit testing was a pain and required a running container such as JBoss to make the calls into. Now that we're going to be working in EJB3 / JPA I'd like to know what companies are using to write and run these tests. Are Junit and JMock still considered relevant or are there other newer frameworks that have come around that we should investigate?

I don't care how well this web service is tested, I'm intentionally only using a small part of it. How can I exclude the Web Reference from showing up in my Code Coverage results?     Hi I have an "admin" module and I want it to serve "dynamic controllers", i.e. to provide a default behaviour for controllers which don't really exist ("virtual controllers"). I've invented a lightweight messaging mechanism for loose communication between modules. I'd like to use it such that when e.g. ?r=admin/users/index is requested, it will call the "virtual controller" "UserController" of AdminModule, which would, by default, use this messaging mechanism to notify the real module "UsersModule" it can answer to the request. I thought about simulating this behaviour in AdminModule::init(), but at that point I have no way of deciding whether the action can be processed by a real controller or not, or at least I don't know how to do it. This is because of the way Yii works: bottom-up, the controller is the one that renders the view AND the application layout (or the module's, if it exists), for example. I don't think the module even has a word to say about handling a given controller+action or not. To recap, I'm looking for a kind of CWebModule::missingController($controllerId,$actionId), just like CController::missingAction($actionId), or a workaround to simulate that. That would possibly be in CWebModule::init() or somewhere where I can find out whether the controller actually exists, in which case it's his job to handle it the $actionID and $controllerID whether the module $controllerID exists (I didn't type it wrong, in r=admin/users/index, "users" is the actual module, as specified in the application's config).

The web app still has the access url as earlier. I have re-deployed the application on tomcat, re-started the tomcat and have done everything that should be done but the access url is the same as earlier. I found that there were no server.xml file attached with the WARfile. The how the tomcat is determining that the context root of my web app is /MyDynamicWebApp and is allowing me to access the application through that url

  • Setup Exchange 2007 ActiveSync web application on a separate server

    Hello, I have Exchange 2007 installed on SBS 2008. I also run a web server on the network. I only have one static IP and all traffic trough port 443 is routed to the webserver. I would like to publish the ActiveSync application externally. If i temporarily route 443 traffic to the SBS then it is published (along with owa and everything else which i don't want). Is there a way to host the ActiveSync application on the web server (Server 2008 with IIS7) or to get it to route traffic meant for the ActiveSync application? I have tried creating a site on the webserver which uses the ActiveSync folder on the SBS but that does not seem to work. Thanks, Michael
