• PHP include(): File size & performance

  An inexperienced PHP question: I've got a PHP script file that I need to include on different pages lots of times in lots of places. I have the option of either breaking the included file down into several smaller files and include these on a as-needed basis... OR ... I could just keep it all together in a single PHP file. I'm wondering if there's any performance impact of using a larger vs. smaller file for include() in this context? For example, is there any performance difference between a 200KB file and a 20KB file? Thank you.

• Designing Relational Survey Questionnaires Database

  I'm trying to build a simple sql database for following access database. Currently there is no relationship and I just have two tables male and female with 6 sections in each form. How can I design it a better way so end user can connect to the database and analyze using STATA or SPSS ? I'm really confused whether I should create one table with all fields or break down into different tables. The database is specific to this study only so I'm not looking for a generic survey database where user can create surveys and capture them. Any feedback or suggestion is much appreciated.

  I am using VisualWebDeveloperExpress2008 with Access as the membership provider. I have some cases where I want users to edit their own data. This would involve a query where the UserId should equal the UserID of the user who is using the site. I am expecting to use WHERE UserId = ?, but I have not found out where to direct "?". The IDE gives several choices, but I am uncertain which to choose.   In MS Access 2003 I have a form whose record source is equal to a query that involves an INNER JOIN. The join is between a location table and a container table. Containers are objects that are stored in specific locations each location and container are specified by ID values. SELECT DISTINCTROW Container.Container_ID, Location.Location_ID FROM Location INNER JOIN Container ON Location.[Location_ID] = Container.[Location_ID] What I am trying to figure out is this …. When I delete a record (using the form navigation controls) in the form based on the above query which tables are affected? • How do I make a multiple file upload?

  I am trying to make a multiple image uploader. The file upload fields are being added in the form dynamically using jquery. I tried making an array of the fields since I don't want to have a hidden field. so my generated upload fields look like <input type="file" id="img0" name="img[]"/> <input type="file" id="img1" name="img[]"/> <input type="file" id="img2" name="img[]"/> ..... .. And on the php side I did something like if(isset($_FILES['img'])) { foreach($_FILES['img'] as $k=>$v) { if($v!="") { uploadImage($k,0,0,0,"content/gallery/"); } } } Now I know I am way too wrong, since in that code I am looping through the 'img' file's properties instead of all images....but I have no idea how to fix this. PS: uploadImage is a function I wrote which expects the file input field's name as the first parameter.

  Hi, I'd like to upload a file from a client machine to my server. The user would have to specify the file to upload as I understand it, using a form that looks like: <input type="file" name="datafile" size="40"> This pops up a native file picker, which is great. The problem I'm having is that it's a real pain (for most users) to go looking around their machine for the file I'm interested in. Is there a way I can initialize the file picker with a path to make it more convenient for the user? Like I know some users will be on a windows machine, so I could prepopulate the picker by already sending them to the My Documents folder for example. I don't see how this is possible, just wondering if something like that exists, Thank you

  I'd like to know how, if possible, to get the path of the selected file in an open Windows Explorer window. If not, would it at least be possible to get the folder path of an open Windows Explorer window? The end reason I'm doing this, is a software tool I'm writing requires a user to select a file. I figure if they're already moving the file around with Windows Explorer and then start my tool up, it'd be good not to have to make them navigate to the folder again in the file open dialog box. My software would then be able to identify if it's got the right file extension and if so, just ask the user if they want to import that file. Thanks.

  I am basically trying to write this information from my dictionary to this file. I have this dictionary named files = {} and it is for a filing system I am making. Anyhow it is always being update with new items, and I want those items to be uploaded to the file. Then if you exit the program the files are loaded back to the dictionary files = {}. Here is the code I have so far: file = {} for i in files: g = open(i, 'r') g.read(i) g.close() EDIT I want the contents of the dictionary to be written to a file. The items inside the dictionary are all stored like this: files[filename] = {filedate:filetext} where filename is the file's name, filedate is the date that the file was made on, and the filetext is the files contents.

  I've looked around and can't quite grasp the whole answer to this SQL query question needed to extract data from an MS Access 2000 table. Here's an example of what the table [Time Sub] looks like: CLIENT_ID, DATE_ENTERED, CODE, MINUTES 11111, 5/12/2008 3:50:52 PM, M, 38 11111, 5/12/2008 2:55:50 PM, M, 2 11714, 5/13/2008 1:15:32 PM, M, 28 11111, 5/13/2008 6:15:12 PM, W, 11 11112, 5/12/2008 2:50:52 PM, M, 89 11112, 5/12/2008 5:10:52 PM, M, 9 91112, 5/14/2008 1:10:52 PM, L, 96 11112, 5/12/2008 5:11:52 PM, M, 12 I need to select the first entry of each day per client that's NOT code L or W.   Hi. I have an application which is making use of a .jar file and a .properties file which must reside in the same directory as where the .jar file lies. On a normal java application, this works fine, however I'm building an Eclipse plug-in. I've tried attaching the .properties everywhere, in the classpath, build path, putting them in the same folder and calling the jar file from there (this gives an obsure error) and I've even tried putting the .properties file inside the .jar file even.... but no luck.   I have a table with 4 columns, and I need to check to see if a Column Pair exists before inserting a row into the database: INSERT INTO dbo.tblCallReport_Detail (fkCallReport, fkProductCategory, Discussion, Action) VALUES (?, ?, ?, ?) The pair in question is fkCallReport and fkProductCategory. For example if the row trying to be inserted has fkCallReport = 3 and fkProductCategory = 5, and the database already has both of those values together, it should display an error and ask if they would like to combine the Disuccsion and Action with the current record. Keep in mind I'm doing this in VBA Access 2010 and am still very new.

  Hi, this has me pretty confused and I can't find the answer anywhere else so thought I'd post here to see if anyone can help! I have a form in an Access 2007 database with a subform (sfSubform) embedded in it. The subform control's SourceObject is set to be another form (fForm). fForm's RecordSource starts out as a table. At one point I want to change the data displayed in the subform to the result of a SQL statement, so I use sfSubform.Form.RecordSource = strSQL. This works fine. However, if I ouput the name of the RecordSource for fForm after making this change, it still gives the name of the table that I orginially set. Does sfSubform.Form.RecordSource not change the source of fForm? Is it a copy of fForm that is embedded in the control? Hope all that makes sense.

  I want to write an update query in MS Access 2003. I have a field called product_code. If product code is (between 110 and 752) OR (between 910 and 1124), I want to update product code=15. If product code is (between 1210 and 1213) OR (1310 and 1423) I want to assign product code=16. If product code is some other value I will assign 18, and so on I don't think I can use CASE statement for this since I have many values to be updated. I tried to use multiple UPDATE/SET statements but it didn't work.

  here is my query $sql = 'SELECT * FROM Orders INNER JOIN [Order Details] ON Orders.OrderNumber = [Order Details].OrderNumber WHERE Orders.CartID =2 AND [Order Details].Option10 Is Null AND [Order Details].Status="Shipped"'; this queries when entered in MS_Access sql view, returns the correct results, but when I copy and paste the same query in my php script, it fails and gives the error Too few parameters, expected 1... although data is there, query is working in access... Please note if I omitted on AND condition, it works eg if I removed shipped conidtion or is null condition, it works then too.. any hint? whats wrong with it?? any help?thanks

• I can't upload a file with CGIHTTPServer

  Hi all, I'm using the CGIHTTPServer to implement a simple cgi server. I'm trying to upload a file by a form with the post method and the multipart/form-data enctype but I have problems when I recover the value of the fields in the cgi script. When the script catch the form fields, the value of the file is a MiniFieldStorage with two fields only (key and file name), and I can't recover the content of the file. As the API doc shows, this content is in value field of a StorageField but in the MiniFieldStorage this field isn't exits. ¿How can I recover a StorageField with the content of the file instead a MiniStorageField? ¿There are other method to upload a file using CGIHTTPServer? • .net File.Copy very slow when copying many small files (not over network)

  I'm making a simple folder sync backup tool for myself and ran into quite a roadblock using File.Copy. Doing tests copying a folder of ~44,000 small files (Windows mail folders) to another drive in my system, I found that using File.Copy was over 3x slower than using a command line and running xcopy to copy the same files/folders. My C# version takes over 16+ minutes to copy the files, whereas xcopy takes only 5 minutes. I've tried searching for help on this topic, but all I find is people complaining about slow file copying of large files over a network. This is neither a large file problem nor a network copying problem. I found an interesting article about a better File.Copy replacement, but the code as posted has some errors which causes problems with the stack and I am nowhere near knowledgeable enough to fix the problems in his code. Are there any common or easy ways to replace File.Copy with something more speedy?

In case of html5 drag and drop you need to have site opened and have opened that page which is about file upload. You need to select all  and drag and drop. after drag and drop file is simply uploaded to server and site show you on list (if no error happen). but this file upload is seriously not worthy since I have to open the site when I do this operation.   Through this post I want to describe a feature that can make this thing better.  This API is simply called SASS FILE UPLOAD API Through This API when you surf the site and come into file upload page then the page will tell you that we also have SASS FILE API support. Enable it for better result.   How this work This API feature are activated on 2 basis. 1. Feature are disabled by default on site (or you can change it if it’s not) 2. This API allow specific site to upload the files. Files upload may have some rule. For example (minimum or maximum size of file to uploaded, which format the site allowed you to upload). In case of resume site you will be allowed to use .doc (according to code of site)   How browser recognize that Site have SASS service. The windows will also describe the limit and how much you can upload. This thing never required site to opened. When you upload the file this will be uploaded through FTP protocol. FTP protocol are better for performance.   How this API make thing faster. Suppose you want to ask a question and want to post image. you just do it and get it ready when you open stackoverflow.com now stackoverflow will only tell you which file you want to put on your current question that you asking for. second use is about people use cloud app.   There is no need of drag and drop anymore. we just need to do it without drag and drop it. we doesn’t need to open the site either. This thing is still in experiment level. I will update this post when I got some progress on this API.

  I have a problem with my freeradius server configuration. I want to be able to authenticate users against Windows ActiveDirectory (2008 R2) and the users file, because some of my co-workers are not listed in AD. We use the freeradius server to authenticate WLAN users. But how can I tell freeradius to try both logins, [email protected] (should fail) testtest (against users file - should work)
