Why is Dispatcher.Invoke not triggering UI update?

I am trying to reuse a UserControl and also borrow some logic that keeps track of progress. I'll try and simplify things. MyWindow.xaml includes a MyUserControl. MyUserControl has its own progress indicator (Formatting in progress..., Copying files..., etc.) and I'd like to mirror this progress somewhere in the MyWindow form. But, the user control has some logic I don't quite understand. I've read and read but I still don't understand the Dispatcher. Here's a summary of the logic in the user control that updates the progress. this.Dispatcher.Invoke(DispatcherPriority.Input, (Action)(() => { DAProgressIndicator = InfiniteProgress.AddNewInstanceToControl(StatusGrid, new SolidColorBrush(new Color() { A = 170, R = 128, G = 128, B = 128 }), string.Empty); DAProgressIndicator.Message = MediaCardAdminRes.ActivatingCard; ActivateInProgress = true; })); I thought I'd be smart and add an event to MyUserControl that would be called in the ActivateInProgress property set logic. public bool ActivateInProgress { get { return _activateInProgress; } set { _activateInProgress = value; if (ActivateInProgressHandler != null) { ActivateInProgressHandler(value); } } } I'm setting the ActivateInProgressHandler within the MyWindow constructor to the following method that sets the view model property that is used for the window's own progress indicator. private void SetActivation(bool activateInProgress) { viewModel.ActivationInProgress = activateInProgress; } However, the window's progress indicator never changes. So, I'm convinced that the Dispatcher.Invoke is doing something that I don't understand. If I put a message box inside the SetActivation method, the thread blocks and the window's progress indicator is updated. I understand basic threads but this whole Dispatcher thing is new to me. What am I missing?

Ending a Rails 2 URL with an IP address causes routing error?

I'm trying to construct URLs in the format http://servername/find/by/CRITERION/VALUE CRITERION is a finite set of strings, as is VALUE. Trouble is, VALUE needs to be an IP address in some situations, and it's causing me a routing error. Here's my route: map.find 'find/by/:criterion/:query', :controller => "find", :action => "by" And the error, from the Mongrel logs: Processing ApplicationController#index (for 127.0.0.1 at 2010-05-07 10:20:32) [GET] ActionController::RoutingError (No route matches "/find/by/ip/1.2.3.4" with {:method=>:get}): Rendering rescues/layout (not_found) If I visit /find/by/foo/bar or /find/by/foo/1234 I don't have problems. I suspect the problem might be Rails' inference of MIME types based on periods in the URL, but I don't really know how I can disable that. I've tried passing a :defaults = {:format = :html} to the route but that causes Mongrel to fail to start entirely. Any help appreciated!

HTML encode UTF-8 string gets mangled into latin1

I'm parsing my nginx logs, and I want to discover some details from the HTTP_REFERER string, for example, the query string used to find the web site. One user typed in "México" which gets encoded in the log as "query=M%E9xico". Passing this through Rack::Utils.parse_query('query=M%E9xico') you get a hash, {"query" = "M?xico"} When you to stuff "M?exico" into Postgres (but not the more forgiving SQLite), it pukes because the string isn't proper UTF-8. Looking at http://rack.rubyforge.org/doc/Rack/Utils.html#M000324, unescape is packing a hex string. How can I convert the string back to UTF-8, or can I get parse_query to return UTF-8 in the first place.

How to set target hosts in Fabric file

I want to use Fabric to deploy my web app code to development, staging and production servers. Please specify (single) host string for connection: When I create a set_hosts() task as shown in the Fabric docs, env.hosts is set properly. However, this is not a viable option, neither is a decorator. Passing hosts on the command line would ultimately result in some kind of shell script that calls the fabfile, I would prefer having one single tool do the job properly. It says in the Fabric docs that 'env.hosts is simply a Python list object'. From my observations, this is simply not true. Can anyone explain what is going on here ? How can I set the host to deploy to ?

Windows Workflow and sql script in declarative config like InRule

We have been using InRule for our Rule needs we have found that it does not scale well and so are investigating the Windows Work Flow. Within InRule we could configure pretty much have any task for example our sql scripts and stored procedures where all part of a separate rule config file, I am wondering if there is a similar functionality within windows work flow where I could just call a declarative task and pass it a bunch of parameters – This task should contain the sql script I would be executing , we should be able to change the script at runtime without recompilation to the WF code. Is this possible in Windows Work flow – How can I accomplish this within work flow. Additionally for sql execution within Work Flow, how does it get the connection string. Should it be passed from the calling program – is passing it as input parameter from the Calling app via the Dictionary object the best way or can the work flow code have visibility to my calling program app.config and get the connection string ?

Drupal Views Multiple values being returned when using a relationship

I am having a problem with views. I have a view and am passing it a taxonomy term by name to it. I then have a relationship to a related node. For my output fields I am returning the related Title and related Body. I however have duplicates in my results. I have turned distinct to yes but believe this is working on the nodes being return and not the related node. Any ideas how I can remove the duplicates?

I'm having trouble running a full trust WPF 4 XBAP (browser application), created with Visual Studio 2010, from my intranet. I do not get a ClickOnce elevation prompt, as described in ScottGu's post on WPF 4: Full Trust XBAP Deployment Starting in WPF 4, the ClickOnce elevation prompt is also enabled for XAML Browser Applications (XBAPs) in Intranet and Trusted Zones, making it easier to deploy full-trust XBAPs. For XBAPs that require security permissions greater than the minimum code access security (CAS) permission grantset of the Intranet and Trusted Zones, the user will be able to click 'Run' on the ClickOnce elevation prompt when they navigate to the XBAP to allow the XBAP to run with the requested permissions. Instead, I get the "Trust Not Granted" message. I'm running the application in two ways; in both cases, I get the "Trust Not Granted" message. First, I'm launching the application by double-clicking on the xbap file from my NAS on the local network. Secondly, I'm also trying to launch the application when it is hosted on a website via IIS from the same machine. Are both of these scenarios considered to be run from an "intranet?" Or does "intranet" mean some in particular here? Or am I doing something completely wrong? Of note, I am able to launch the application without problem when I simply double-click the xbap from my local computer. The xbap in question was created specifically to test the ClickOnce elevation prompt. It was created with Visual Studio 2010 as a WPF Browser Application. The only change I made was to change this to a full trust application (My Project Security tab This is a full trust application). Call stored procedure using Spring SimpleJdbcCall with callback

I have an Oracle Stored procedure that takes CLOB input and REFCURSOR output. I invoke the SP via Spring SimpleJdbcCall passing in a RowMapper to map the results. However, since the result set is large, I need to provide callback feature to the client. I can't quite figure out how to add callback for an SP call using Spring - both with and without SimpleJdbcCall. One thought I have is to pass-in a RowCallbackHandler. Will this work or is there a better way to solve this problem? Binding Data to DataGridView in VB.Net

Hi, I have a bit of code which loads data from a stored procedure in MS SQL Server and then loads the data to a datagridview, which works fine. What i want is for the code that connects / loads the data to sit in my Database Class and then everything associated with the datagridview to be stored in my Form but i am having problems passing the contents of the bindingsource over to the Form from the Database Class. How do I specify a crossdomain policy file to allow Flash to grab a bitmap from an RTMP (Wowza) vide

I'm trying to get a bitmap/snapshot of a Wowza video stream playing on my client, like so: var bitmapData:BitmapData = new BitmapData(view.videoPlayerComponent.width, view.videoPlayerComponent.height); bitmapData.draw(view.videoPlayerComponent); When I do this, I get this error message: SecurityError: Error #2123: Security sandbox violation: BitmapData.draw: http://localhost:51150/Resources/WRemoteWebCam.swf cannot access rtmp://localhost/videochat/smithkl42._default/. No policy files granted access. I presume the error comes from not being able to locate the appropriate crossdomain.xml file. I'm not quite sure where it's looking for it, and a wireshark sniff was inconclusive, so I've tried placing one in each of the following places: http://localhost/crossdomain.xml http://localhost:1935/crossdomain.xml http://localhost:51150/crossdomain.xml I can retrieve the file successfully from each of those three locations. (I'm pretty sure that the last one wouldn't have any effect, since it's just the location of the web site which hosts the page that hosts the .swf file, but on the off chance...) These are the contents of the file that it's grabbing in each instance: <cross-domain-policy> <allow-access-from domain="*" to-ports="*" /> </cross-domain-policy> And it's still throwing that same error message. But in this moment I don't know how can I determinate this, since count($paginator) doesn't work anymore because of $paginator->getAdapter()->setRowCount(200);and I'm using this because it taks about 7 sec for Zend_Paginator to count the page numbers. So how can I find If my query has any results?

Hello, I have a Customer with Orders and those have products. Everything aggregated with collections of type ObservableCollection. All 3 collections are bound to a datagrid/combobox. I can only make the root collection (ObservableCollection Customers{ get;set;} ) passing to a CollectionView so I can move the current customer within the combobox. But how can I move around the current Order in the datagrid? How to pass the selected Orders to another CollectionView ? Does all this maybe not work?

Jasper Reports and iReport issue

I am having an issue with JasperReports I can not solve. I am using Eclipse, OpenReports 3.2 and IReport 3.7 The issue I am having is that the report does nothing. When I preview the report in IReport I can at least get a "Document has no pages" message but when I try to open it using OpenReports it doesn't do anything. I get the open reports header and the copyright message but nothing between them. I was able to track it down to line 150 in ReportRunAction.java in OpenReports. That line is: jasperPrint = jasperEngine.fillReport(reportInput); At least that is the line the page dies on. I can't swear that the issue isn't that parameter. Through looking around all I have been able to find is something about how the report needs to be compiled with the same version of the jasperreports.jar that OpenReports uses. I have no idea how to tell if/what version of jasper reports is being bundled into the .jasper file though. Is that my problem? If so how do I tell/set the version of the jar that gets bundled? If not; help!

WSE 3.0 crashes when ClearHeaders is called

Hi! I'm developing a client-server application in c# using WSE web-service. One of the things that the user can do is send jpg images to the server for backup via the web-service. Recently strange errors have occurred. This does not happen for all users, just a few. ActiveMq NMS Disconnects after about 30 seconds

'm trying to do simple pub/sub with ActiveMq. I can get it all working fine, but the subscriber disconnects after about 30 seconds. I've looked for a timeout type of value I can change but nothing seems to be working. To get the problem just run the program and sit waiting for about 30 seconds. You can see the connection disappear in the ActiveMQ Console (http://localhost:8161/admin/connections.jsp by default) Any ideas?

iPhone JSON object releasing itself?

I'm using the JSON Framework addon for iPhone's Objective-C to catch a JSON object that's an array of Dictionary-style objects via HTTP. Here's my connectionDidFinishLoading function: - (void)connectionDidFinishLoading:(NSURLConnection *)connection { [connection release]; NSString *responseString = [[NSString alloc] initWithData:responseData encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]; [loadingIndicator stopAnimating]; NSArray *responseArray = [responseString JSONValue]; // Grab the JSON array of dictionaries NSLog(@"Response Array: %@", responseArray); if ([responseArray respondsToSelector:@selector(count)]) { NSLog(@"Returned %@ items", [responseArray count]); } [responseArray release]; [responseString release]; } The issue is that the code is throwing a EXC_BAD_ACCESS error on the second NSLog line. The EXC_BAD_ACCESS error I think indicates that the variable got released from memory, but the first NSLog command works just fine (and shows that the data is all there); it seems that only when calling the count message is causing the error, but the respondsToSelector call at least thinks that the responseArray should be able to respond to that message. When running with the debugger, it crashes on that second line, but the stack shows that the responseArray object is still defined, and has 12 objects in it (so the debugger at least is able to get an accurate count of the contents of that variable). Is this a problem with the JSON framework's creation of that NSArray, or is there something wrong with my code?

Can't connect to SQL Server 2008 - looks like Shared Memory problem

I am unable to connect to my local instance of SQL Server 2008 Express using SQL Server Management Studio. I believe the problem is related to a change I made to the connection protocols. Before the error occurred, I had Shared Memory enabled and Named Pipes and TCP/IP disabled. I then enabled both Named Pipes and TCP/IP, and this is when I started experiencing the problem. When I try to connect to the server with SSMS (with either my SQL server sysadmin login or with windows authentication), I get the following error message: A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login process. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 0 - No process is on the other end of the pipe.) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 233) Why is it returning a Named Pipes error? Why would it not just use Shared Memory, as this has a higher priority order in the list of connection protocols? It seems like it is not listening on Shared Memory for some reason? When I set Named Pipes to enabled and try to connect, I get the same error message. My windows account is does not have administrator priviliges on my computer - perhaps this is making a difference in some way (as some of the discussions in this post about an "SuperSocketNetLib\Lpc" registry key seems to suggest).
