  I want to get some trick for this problem. I have my table like this Product (uuid, Name) and one datagridview to display this information ( dataGridView.DataSouce = Products which is assign on runtime) My problem is that I want to have "No" column on dataGridView which will show like below No | Name 1 | ProdctA 2 | ProductB 3 | ProductC What I do right now is create a "No" field on my product Model, and loop through all the row and assign value to it. On the other hand, I've got an MSDN Professional subscription, which includes Visual Studio. Does this copy of Visual Studio entitle me to upgrade pricing on Expression Studio? Given that you can't get Visual Studio without an MSDN subscription, I figure it does, but I can't find anything definitive.

• text indexes vs integer indexes in mysql

  Hey, I have always tried to have an integer primary key on a table no matter what. But now I am questioning if this is always necessary. Let's say I have a product table and each product has a globally unique SKU number - that would be a string of say 8-16 characters. Why not make this the PK? Typically I would make this field a unique index but then have an auto incrementing int field as the PK, as I assumed it would be faster, easier to maintain, and would allow me to do things like get the last 5 records added with ease. But in terms of optimisation, assuming I'd only ever be matching the full text field and next doing text matching queries (e.g. like %%) can you guys think of any reasons not to use a text based primary key, most likely of type varchar()? Every request (event for static content) goes through the same .Net pipeline without exception. All custom HttpModule can handle any request. But sometimes you don't want these modules to execute for certain content (most often static content). In this regard, MS Cassini doesn't read/obey <system.webServer> web.config settings like IIS7 does. I'm particularly interested in these settings. <system.webServer> ... <handlers /> <modules /> </syste.webServer> Does UltiDev's Cassini (a separate payable product upgraded from MS Cassini) web server read these settings and execute as the web.config tells it to?

• ASP.NET required field validator firing on focus in Firefox

  I have 2 asp.net textboxes in an update panel. Both textbox controls have some javascript attached to autotab to the next field and to allow only numeric input. When I enter some data into the first field and press enter, focus shifts to the next field and the requiredfieldvalidator of the second field displays its "* required" error message, even though I've just entered the field. This is only happening in Firefox.   i'm working on a project and need your ideas, advices. First of all, let me tell my problem. There is power button and some other keys of a machine and there is only one user has authentication to use this machine.There are no other authentication methods, the machine is in public area in a company. the machine is working with the combination of pressing power button and some other keys. The order of pressing keys is secret but we don't trust it, anybody can learn the password and can access the machine. i have the capability of managing the key hold time and also some other metrics to measure the time differences between the key such as horizantal or vertical key press times (differences). and also i can measure the hold time etc. These all means i have some inputs, Now i'm trying to get a user profile by analysing these inputs. My idea is to get the authenticated user to press the password n times and create a threshold or something similar to that. This method also can be said BIOMETRICS, anyone else who knows the machine button combination, can try the password but if he is out of this range can not get access it. How can i adapt these into my algorithms? where should i start ? i don't want to delve deep into machine learning, and also i can see the in my first try i can get false positive and false negative values really high, but i can manage it by changing my inputs. thanks.

  I was looking at my plugins, and ended up looking at Silverlight on several Mac systems. What I noticed (from Wikipedia), was that only Silverlight 1 runs on PPC. Without knowing about the technical details and trade-offs, I was surprised. On its face, if you build Silverlight 1 for PPC and Intel, would it have been hard to continue to support both chipsets? So, assuming this was a decision based on marketshare, I tried to search for information on the Mac OS PPC vs. Intel marketshare, but could not find anything on point. Does anyone here have an idea what the ratio is? It seems like the most important architectural/product decision you would make for a Mac OS X product.

  When i use new XStream().toXml(someObject); it returns following xml... <response> <status>SUCCESS</status> <isOwnershipVerified class="boolean">false</isOwnershipVerified> </response> and, when i use new XStream(new JsonHierarchicalStreamDriver()).toXml(someObject); it returns following json... {"response": { "status": "SUCCESS", "isOwnershipVerified": { "@class": "boolean""false"} }} Now, since i want to get rid of class attribute altogether (read it not to alias it with anything else, but to remove it) i use following code.   I'm looking at the product Aptimize Website Accelerator, which is an ISAPI filter that will concatenate files, minify css/javascript, and more. Does anyone have experience with this product, or any other "all-in-one" solutions? I'm interesting in knowing whether something like this would be good long-term, or would manually setting up all the components (integrate YUICompress into the build process, setting up gzip compression, tweaking expiration headers, etc...) be more beneficial? An all-in-one solution like this looks very tempting, as it could save a lot of time if our website is "less than optimal". But how efficient are these products? Would setting up the components manually generate better results? Or would the gap between the all-in-one solution and manually setting up the component be so small, that it's negligible?

• Cascading Deletes in SQL Sever 2008 not working.

  I have the following table setup. Bag | +-> BagID (Guid) +-> BagNumber (Int) BagCommentRelation | +-> BagID (Int) +-> CommentID (Guid) BagComment | +-> CommentID (Guid) +-> Text (varchar(200)) BagCommentRelation has Foreign Keys to Bag and BagComment. So, I turned on cascading deletes for both those Foreign Keys, but when I delete a bag, it does not delete the Comment row. Do need to break out a trigger for this? Or am I missing something? (I am using SQL Server 2008) Note: Posting requested SQL. This is the defintion of the BagCommentRelation table. (I had the type of the bagID wrong (I thought it was a guid but it is an int).) • YUI DataTable - Howto have just one paginator?

  Hello, I'm using the YUI DataTable in a Grails 1.1 project using the Grails UI plugin 1.0.2 (YUI being 2.6.1). By default, the DataTable displays 2 paginators: one above and another one below the table. Looking up the YUI API documentation, I could see that I can pass an array of YUI containers as a config parameter but - what are the names of these containers? I've tried loooking at the HTML of the page using Firebug. The ID of the divs containing the paginators are: yui-dt0-paginator0 (above) and yui-dt0-paginator1 (below). If I use them to configure the containers for the navigator, then the navigator is just not displayed at all. • can't update rails model

  Hi there, I'm rather new to rails. I have a controller that's attempting to update a model using the following code: @test = Product.find(1) @test.increment!(:price) It does successfully retrieve the Product from the database, but does not update the price attribute. Does anyone know why this might be the case, or how I could get more feedback on what the problem is? Thanks a bunch! Tristan edit: price is an integer with value 0. I get the same problem when I set the price with @test.price=50 and then @test.save .

  My co-worker and I have come across this warning message a couple times recently. For the below code: package com.mycompany.product.data; import com.mycompany.product.dao.GenericDAO; public abstract class EntityBean { public abstract GenericDAO<Object, Long> getDAO(); // ^^^^^^ <-- WARNING OCCURS HERE } the warning appears in the listed spot as EntityBean.getDAO() has non-API return type GenericDAO<T, ID> A Google search for "has non-API return type" only shows instances where this message appears in problem lists. I.e., there's no public explanation for it. What does this mean? We can create a usage problem filter in Eclipse to make the message go away, but we don't want to do this if our usage is a legitimate problem. Thanks!

• RegEx - Take all numeric characters following a text character

  Given a string in the format: XXX999999v99 (where X is any alpha character and v is any numeric character and v is a literal v character) how can I get a regex to match the numeric characters following the v? So far I've got 'v\d\d' which includes the v but ideally I'd like just the numeric part. As an aside does anyone know of a tool in which you can specify a string to match and have the regex generated? Modifying an existing regex is one thing but I find starting from scratch painful! Edit: Re-reading this question I realise it reads like a homework assignment! However I can assure you it's not, the strings I'm trying to match represent product versions appended to product codes. The current code uses all sorts of substring expressions to retrieve the version part.

  I've got the following query: ATable .GroupBy(x=> new {FieldA = x.FieldAID, FieldB = x.FieldBID, FieldC = x.FieldCID}) .Select(x=>new {FieldA = x.Key.FieldA, ..., last_seen = x.OrderByDescending(y=>y.Timestamp).FirstOrDefault().Timestamp}) results in: SqlException: Invalid column name 'FieldAID' x 5 SqlException: Invalid column name 'FieldBID' x 5 SqlException: Invalid column name 'FieldCID' x 1 I've worked out it has to do with the last query to Timestamp because this works: ATable .GroupBy(x=> new {FieldA = x.FieldAID, FieldB = x.FieldBID, FieldC = x.FieldCID}) .Select(x=>new {FieldA = x.Key.FieldA, ..., last_seen = x.OrderByDescending(y=>y.Timestamp).FirstOrDefault()}) The query has been simplified. The purpose is to group by a set of variables and then show the last time this grouping occured in the db. I'm using Linqpad 4 to generate these results so the Timestamp gives me a string whereas FirstOrDefault gives me the whole object which isn't ideal. Update On further testing I've noticed that the number and type of SQLException is related to the class created in the groupby clause. So, ATable .GroupBy(x=> new {FieldA = x.FieldAID}) .Select(x=>new {FieldA = x.Key.FieldA, last_seen = x.OrderByDescending(y=>y.Timestamp).FirstOrDefault()}) results in SqlException: Invalid column name 'FieldAID' x 5

• Keymap issues with NX from Mac OS X Lion

  I tried to answer the question from Mark: Keymap issues with NX from Mac OS X Lion to Ubuntu However, it is locked so I figured I would post a new question / answer. I have been trying to answer this for a few days now because I have no issues when connecting through NX Client (technically OpenNX) to FreeNX server from an iMac (with Lion), but if I try to connect with a Macbook Pro I get horrible keyboard binding issues. The fix that is working for me is to go into: ~/.nx/config/HOST.nxs and change: <option key="Current keyboard" value="false"/> <option key="Custom keyboard layout" value="empty"/> <option key="Grab keyboard" value="false"/> I have tried this on three NX Servers and all are fixed. Hope it helps or gets you closer. • Regarding Toplink Fetching Policy

  Hi, I'm working for a Swing Project and the technologies used are netbeans with Toplink essentials, mysql. The Problem I'm facing is the entity object dosn't get updated after insertions take place while calling a getter collection of the foreign key property. Ex: I have 2 tables Table1,Table2. I have sno column, id column as a primary key in Table1 & is Foreign Key in Table2. Through find method I just get the particular sno object(existed in table 1) set some values persisted to table2 & committed the transaction. When I select the same sno object through find method & gets its collection from Table2 through the getTable2Collection() of the bean(as it is already created in bean by toplink essential) I'm unable to get the latest added record except that all other records of it are displayed. After I close the application & opening it then the new record gets reflected while calling the same sno through the above process. I came to know that this is a kind of lazy fetching and there should be some way of fetch policy to be changed to make the entity object get updated with the changes. This link has been great, but it's not helping me grasp submenus. I'm thinking they're just nested NSArrays, but I have no clear idea. • feedparser fails during script run, but can't reproduce in interactive python console

  It's failing with this when I run eclipse or when I run my script in iPython: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xe2 in position 32: ordinal not in range(128) I don't know why, but when I simply execute the feedparse.parse(url) statement using the same url, there is no error thrown. This is stumping me big time.   Hi, I'm new to Objective-C and I'd like to abstract my database access using a model class like this: @interface LectureModel : NSMutableDictionary { } -(NSString*)title; -(NSDate*)begin; ... @end I use the dictionary methods setValue:forKey: to store attributes and return these in the getters.   I work on a project known as the Security Development Lifecycle (SDL) project at Microsoft (http://microsoft.com/sdl) - in short it's a set of practices that must be used by product groups before they ship products to help improve security. Over the last couple of years, we have published a great deal of SDL documentation, as customers ask for more information about what we're doing.
