  • ASP.net canvas server control

    I was wondering if anyone has come up with an ASP.net server tag for the HTML5 canvas? I was thinking of something where I could declaritively define paths, curves; etc in the aspx markup, and the control would deliver the js to do this (perhaps with support for browser detection, and delivery of an emulation script for IE browsers.) Maybe a good idea for a Codeplex project for me to start up?

  • Need help with android.os.Build.VERSION.SDK_INT and SharedPreferences

    I have a main activity where I call VersionSettings vs = new VersionSettings(this); if (vs.firstRun2()) vs.versionCheckbox(); What I'm trying to do is set a checkbox (checkboxVideoType) to an unchecked state if the Android version is 1.6-2.1 I only want to do this the very first time the app is ever run, it never needs to run again. I think I'm running into the problem when the main activity calls versionCheckbox(), I get a force close if it attempts to run the code inside that is going to set the checkbox to false. I'm very new to programming and would really appreciate some help with this. I think I'm close, but need a push. Thanks in advance!     How can I determine the current transform that's being applied by an html5 canvas. It seems that it only supports two methods for dealing with transforms "transform", "setTransform" but I can't seem to discover the results of applying the transforms. Short of tracking them all myself and duplicating the the matrix mathematics that it must be doing natively, how can I figure out the current transform?

I figured out that it's not possible with the current transitions draft at least. So, I was wondering if it would make sense to use Canvas as the button.     I guess it is not possible to set stroke property such as CSS which is quite easy. With CSS we have dashed, dotted, solid but on canvas when drawing lines/or strokes this doesn't seem to be an option. How have you implemented this? I've seen some examples but they are really long for such a silly function.     I just bought HTC Tattoo with Android 1.6 and to my disappointment, there are lots of applications that I cannot find in my market. I use AppBrain, to select and install apps but once I try to install them, there is error message that application does not exist. Same thing is when I try to install using barcode. What is going on?     I've been wrecking my brain about this for a few days. I'll run my scenario by you and hopefully you can help me. In my head this is how it goes: I have an Android App. I want my Android App to make (function) calls to a MongoDB database via a Ruby Interface on the Server. e.g. Android app sends a HTTP GET ? with the function name, let's say getFriends for this user Ruby Interface receives this request from the app, grabs a thread from a thread pool and calls the appropriate function call implemented in Ruby, to the Mongodb. Ruby Interface gets results from Mongodb and sends a HTML POST to the Android app. So that's how I think it works. I know about the ruby driver for mongo db, and interacting with the mongodb from ruby but, how do I make a ruby back end listen for incoming messages and should these messages be done through sockets or a http interface ala Net::http in ruby?
