• Convert mediawiki to LaTeX syntax

  I need to convert mediawiki into LaTeX syntax. The formulas should stay the same, but I need to transform, for example = something = into \chapter{something}. Although this can be obtained with a bit of sed, things get a little dirty with the itemize environment, so I was wondering if a better solution can be produced. Anything that can be useful for this task ? This is the reverse of this question (graciously copied). Pandoc was the answer to that question, but probably not yet for this.

• Best design for generating code from an AST?

  I'm working on a pretty complex DSL that I want to compile down into a few high level languages. The whole process has been a learning experience. The compiler is written in java. I was wondering if anyone knew a best practice for the design of the code generator portion. I currently have everything parsed into an abstract syntax tree. I was thinking of using a template system, but I haven't researched that direction too far yet as I would like to hear some wisdom first from stack overflow. Thanks!

  I'm trying to do a single row insert/update on a table but all the examples out there are for sets. Can anyone fix my syntax please: MERGE member_topic ON mt_member = 0 AND mt_topic = 110 WHEN MATCHED THEN UPDATE SET mt_notes = 'test' WHEN NOT MATCHED THEN INSERT (mt_member, mt_topic, mt_notes) VALUES (0, 110, 'test') Resolution per marc_s is to convert the single row to a subquery - which makes me think the MERGE command is not really intended for single row upserts. • MySQL to SQL Server - Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'mictest'

  First, I tried to migrate my databases with SQL Server Migration Assistant for MySql and it worked fine. But now, I have some problems with my code. I had this line on MYSQL version : $fct="SELECT * FROM `users` WHERE `USER` LIKE CONVERT( _utf8 '$LOGIN' USING latin1 ) COLLATE latin1_swedish_ci AND `PASS` LIKE CONVERT( _utf8 '$PASS'USING latin1 ) COLLATE latin1_swedish_ci"; This line worked fine but when i try to put this on my SQL Version i get : Error : SQLSTATE[42000]: [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0][SQL Server]Incorrect syntax with the keyword 'mictest'. • Syntax to specify Namespace when using helper.RouteUrl

  I am using Asp.Net MVC 2 - RC w/ Areas. I am receiving an ambigious controller name exception due to having same controller name in two different areas. I've read Phil Haack's post I can't figure out the syntax when trying to use UrlHelper (I have an extensions class). e.g. public static string MyAreaHome(this UrlHelper helper) { return helper.RouteUrl("ARoute", new { controller = "Home", action = "Index" }); } I've tried the obvious of adding namespace="mynamespace" but that didn't work, it just added the namespace to the url. Thanks for any help.

• How to read from a method that returns a filehandle in perl?

  I have an object with a method that returns a filehandle, and I want to read from that handle. The following doesn't work, because the right angle bracket of the method call is interpreted as the closing angle bracket of the input reader: my $input = <$object->get_handle()>; That gets parsed as: my $input = ( < $object- > ) get_handle() >; which is obviously a syntax error. Is there any way I can perform a method call within an angle operator, or do I need to break it into two steps like this? my $handle = $object->get_handle(); my $input = <$handle>;

  I seem to misunderstand a basic syntax, why this sample works: sqlite3_prepare_v2(db, "insert into test values('boo','boo',0);", strlen(querystring)+1 , &stmt, NULL); if ((rc = sqlite3_step(stmt)) != SQLITE_DONE) fprintf(stderr, "Error: sqlite3_step() %d. Error Message %s;\n",rc,sqlite3_errmsg(db)); But when I try this query: "insert into test(strtest) values('boo');" I get an error: Error: sqlite3_step() 19. I appear to be stumbling and getting caught in an infinite loop in this part. Perhaps there is a more correct syntax I am unaware of.

  Hi, I do not understand how following code works. Specifically, I do not understand using of "return i<3". I would expect return i IF its < than 3. I always though that return just returns value. I could not even find what syntax is it. Second question, it seems to me like using anonymous method (delegate(int i)) but could be possible to write it with normal delegate pointing to method elsewere?   I am trying to make some code thread safe for use with pthreads. This code is written in C++, but is linked to using SWIG. g++ compiles this correctly, but when swig tries to create a wrapper, I get: fast_alloc.hh:109: Error: Syntax error in input(3) The original, unsafe code that compiles correctly is: static void *freeLists[Num_Buckets]; and the error occurs when I change it to: static __thread void *freeLists[Num_Buckets]; I have made other parts thread safe adding "__thread", for example, this works: static __thread unsigned newCount[Num_Buckets];

  Given a generic interface interface Foo<A, B> { } I want to write an implementation that requires A to be a subclass of B. So I want to do class Bar<A, B super A> implements Foo<A, B> { } // --> Syntax error or class Bar<A extends B, B> implements Foo<A, B> { } // --> illegal forward reference But the only solution that seems to work is this: class Bar<B, A extends B> implements Foo<A, B> { } which is kind of ugly, because it reverses the order of the generic parameters. Are there any solutions or workarounds to this problem?

• Why do I see MS jQuery samples use `$(domReady); `?

  I don't know if anyone ELSE has noticed this, but I noticed the jQuery samples I see on MS tend to use a different format: <script type="text/javascript"> $( domReady ); function domReady() { $('#btn').click( showMessage ); } function showMessage() { $('#message').fadeIn('slow'); } </script> Isn't this the same as: $(document).ready( function() { $('#btn').click( showMessage ); function showMessage() { $('#message').fadeIn('slow'); } }); Is there any advantage of using one syntax over the other? I will admit, the MS way does look cleaner.

  I have recently been working with a COM+ component that processes an input XML file, and makes a number of database updates based on the supplied data. Running SQL Profiler with EventClass Exception, and User Error Message selected, I see: Exception Error: 102, Severity: 15, State: 1 User Error Message Incorrect syntax near '3'. However I really want to see the full SQL that is being supplied by the COM+ component. Is there anyway for me using Profiler, or other, for me to intercept the SQL statement that was sent to the SQL Server? This machine is using SQL Server 2005, and the COM+ object is written in Delphi.

• Syntax for "RETURNING" clause in Mysql PDO

  I'm trying to add a record, and at the same time return the id of that record added. I read it's possible to do it with a RETURNING clause. $stmt->prepare("INSERT INTO tablename (field1, field2) VALUES (:value1, :value2) RETURNING id"); but the insertion fails when I add RETURNING. There is an auto-incremented field called id in the table being added to. Can someone see anything wrong with my syntax? or maybe PDO does not support RETURNING?

• keep open windows console after a python syntax error

  File associations on my machine (winxp home) are such that a python script is directly opened with the python interpreter. If I double click on a python script a console window runs and every thing is fine - as long as there is no syntax error in the script. In that case the console window opens up for a moment but it is closed immediately. Too fast to read the error message. Of course their would be the possibility to manually open a console window and to execute the script by typing python myscript.py but I am sure that there is a more convenient (i.e. "double click based") solution.

  Is it possible to debug SharePoint calculated column formulas? I am trying with a really simple SharePoint calculated formula =IF([YTD]<[Budget], "OK", "Not OK"). This being a Danish installations of SharePoint I believe the fomula should look like this: =HVIS([YTD]<=[Budget]; "OK"; "Not OK") But this just leaves with the same syntax error or not supported error. I have tried all combinations of IF/HVIS, with/without the square brackets, comma/semicolon, single quotes/double quotes, but nothing works. The formula =YTD<=Budget works.

(Tree ?) rotateR tree = case tree of Fork q (Fork p a b) c -> Fork p a (Fork q b c) As I understand, first line is something like Tree-type declaration (but I don't understand it exactly). Second line includes pattern matching (I don't understand as well why do we need to use pattern matching here). And third line does something absolutely unreadable for non-haskell developer. I've found definition of Fork as fork (f,g) x = (f x, g x) but I can't move further anymore.

  I'm trying to invoke Python using the "-c" argument to allow me to run some arbitrary python code easily, like this: python.exe -c "for idx in range(10): print idx" Now this code works fine, from within my batch file, however, I'm running into problems when I want to do anything more than this. Consider the following Python code: foo = 'bar' for idx in range(10): print idx this would then give you 0-9 on the stdout. However, if I collapse this into a single line, using semicolons as delimiters, to get the following: foo = 'bar';for idx in range(10): print idx and try to run it using python.exe -c it get a SyntaxError raised: C:\Python>python.exe -c "foo = 'bar';for idx in range(10): print idx" File "<string>", line 1 foo = 'bar';for idx in range(10): print idx ^ SyntaxError: invalid syntax Anyone know how I can actually use this without switching to a separate .py file?
