• ASP.Net RadioButton loses ViewState

  I'm having trouble with a simple radio set of two radio buttons (I don't want to use a RadioButtonList [RBL] because RBL doesn't allow child controls, and in my case, if you select one option, I want to enable a textbox next to the button; yes you could hack this with jQuery to move the textbox, but that's dirty!). I would check one, submit the form (either explicitly or through AutoPostBack), and the CheckedChanged event would never fire. When the page was reloaded, both buttons would be unchecked, regardless of their initial state on non-postback load or the state before form submission. I took out the checkbox and stripped this down to the simplest example I could come up with. • StreamReader.ReadToEnd() returning an empty string

  I have a method private static String DecompressAndDecode(byte[] data) { GZipStream decompressor = new GZipStream(new MemoryStream(data), CompressionMode.Decompress); StreamReader decompressed = new StreamReader(decompressor, Encoding.UTF8); String result = decompressed.ReadToEnd(); return result; } I have some GZipped text as input and the result is supposed to be a String representation of this text. The problem is that the method returns an empty string. What is puzzling me is that when I step trough the method in debug mode and reach the return statement the result variable is an empty string but if I create a watch for the decompressed.ReadToEnd() expression it returns me the text. What I would expect at this point is the result variable to contain the text and the decompressed.ReadToEnd() expression evaluating to an empty string. (Reevaluating the decompressed.ReadToEnd() expression returns an empty string as expected). There must be something obvious I'm missing here.

• jQuery to populate form fields based on first entered value where number of fields is unknown

  Greetings, I have a form with a variable number of inputs, a simplified version of which looks like this: <form> <label for="same">all the same as first?</label> <input id="same" name="same" type="checkbox" /> <input type="text" id="foo[1]" name="foo[1]" value="" /> <input type="text" id="foo[2]" name="foo[2]" value="" /> <input type="text" id="foo[3]" name="foo[3]" value="" /> <input type="text" id="foo[4]" name="foo[4]" value="" /> <input type="text" id="foo[5]" name="foo[5]" value="" /> </form> The idea is to tick the #same checkbox and have jQuery copy the value from #foo[1] into #foo[2], #foo[3], etc. They also need to clear if #same is unchecked. There can be any number of #foo inputs, based upon input from a previous stage of the form, and this bit is giving me trouble. I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, but I can't get any variation on $('#dest').val($('#source').val()); to work. Help!

• Adding multiple star rating widgets to one page

  I am using this jQuery plugin for star ratings: http://orkans-tmp.22web.net/star_rating/ Everything is going great, including using AJAX, etc. The problem is that I need to have many per page and can't quite figure out how to work with the selectors to achieve this. I think this is probably very easy for someone who knows their jQuery... Here's some code below... There are multiple kids per page, and I need one rating widget for each kid. • Parsing error when using getSearchResultsForQuery of MGTwitterEngine

• PhantomJS not exactly rendering HTML to PNG

  I'm having trouble adjusting PhantomJS to create a PNG file that matches the original browser presentation. Here is the entire sample html file. It's a sankey diagram creating using rCharts and d3-sankey. (You'll need to save the file to your hard drive and view it from there.) I'm running on Windows and using rasterize.js: >> phantomjs.exe rasterize.js test.html test.png ISSUE: Below is a snip of one of the text strings when viewed in a browser: And here is a snip of the same string from the PNG created by PhantomJS: How do I make the text-shadow go away? I've played around with various CSS attributes (text-shadow) and webkit-specific attributes (e.g., -webkit-text-rendering), but can't seem to make it go away. Is this a setting in PhantomJS? in the underlying webkit? or somewhere else? Many thanks!

• UpdatePanel doesn't do partial-page update, and IsInAsyncPostBack is always false

  I'm attempting to use an UpdatePanel, but can't get partial-page updates to work. When I look at the ScriptManager's IsInAsyncPostBack property, it's always false. Here's a page that reproduces the issue. • Sorting emails with no To: tags in Outlook

  Lately people at work have been sending with mailing lists in blind copies instead of just sending to the mailing lists. I think the intent is to prevent people from accidentally replying to all, but it means that these emails aren't sorted into their proper folders when they arrive. I'd like to at least be able to sort them into a common folder, but these emails arrive with no "To:" line in the headers. I'm using Outlook 2007, and I can't figure out a way to use their built-in rule editor to create a rule that sorts these emails. Is there a plugin that will allow me to sort emails like this, or a better rule editor? Updated: I know this is very old, but this is still very annoying to me. Is there any way to sort these kinds of emails to their own folder?

• Render SVG font in Adobe Illistrator or Corel Draw

  Hello! I'm developing a project that produces SVG files with custom embed fonts. SVG font definition I compose as SVG font tag with help of http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fontface/generator or Batik SVG Toolkit. The resulted SVG file I try to open in following applications: Adobe Illustrator CS4 - text has default font and message noticed about font not found in system CorelDRAW X5 - text has default font and any messages don't noticed Batik SVG Browser (Squiggle) - renders text correctly The problem is all modern typographies use CorelDRAW and Abode Illustrator for print vector graphic and them render not correctly SVG. Solution As for me, I see follow solutions: Save the text with custom font as SVG path. This will work but, I can't find any solution that can convert text + TTF to SVG path data; Use other vector format, f.e. AI, EPS or CDR. This solution is difficult for me, because I use SVG paths as part of input data; Recommend our users to use Batik SVG Browser (Squiggle) or any other application which are based on Batik SVG Toolkit library. Batik SVG Toolkit requires Java runtime :( If anyone know some knowledge to open SVG embed fonts in Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW please share them. I would be grateful for any help. • How to only round selected corners in a fancytitle box with Tikz

  If you take a look at http://www.texample.net/tikz/examples/boxes-with-text-and-math/ the boxes there are with rounded corners. In the examples, both the box itself and the title is a box. I want the title box to not have the bottom corners rounded. On page 120 in the manual, there is a description of how to draw with and without rounded corners. However, I want to use this in a fancytitle. These two other queries don't return anything (the alert box is blank): $(this).find('api_detail_url').text(); $(this).find('name').text(); I've tried using jQuery selectors, like... $(this).find('game > name').text(); ...but that doesn't work, either, still get a blank alert box. Am I missing something? Testing is being done in Chrome.

  When you take clips and turn them into computer playable files, whether .TS or .MOV or .MPG, .MP4, .VOB, etc., do you as the producer actually manually write into some field in a "Details" section of your video editor what the video length is, so that it can be read by the eventual user's video player? Or is this activity performed automatically by the video editor? I'm asking because: when a mouse is passed over a file line item in Windows 7 Shell (Windows Explorer) a little box is displayed where the mouse meets the file line item and provides simple name and size properties, one of which (if it's a media file) is run length. How does that figure get there into the file (later to be read be Windows or OS X)? Thanks for any info.

• What's the proper way to setup different objects as delegates using Interface Builder?

  Let's say I create a new project. I now add two text fields to the view controller in Interface Builder. I want to respond to delegate events that the text fields create, however, I don't want to have the main view controller to act as the delegate for both text fields. Ideally I want a separate file for each text field that acts as the delegate. Each of these objects also needs to be able to interact with the main view controller. My question is how I would set this up and link everything correctly? I tried creating a new class that inherits from NSObject and implements UITextFieldDelegate. I then added an instance variable called "viewController" of the same type of my view controller and marked it with IBOutlet (this required me to add #import "myViewcontroller.h"). I then went to Interface Builder and opened up my view controller which contains the two edit boxes. I added an NSObject to the form and changed it's type to be of the new class I created. I set its viewController property to the File's Owner, and set one of the textbox's delegate properties to point to this new object I created. Now when I run the program, it crashes when I touch the text box. It gives the error EXC_BAD_ACCESS. I'm guessing I didn't link stuff correctly in IB. Some things I'm not sure about which might be the problem: Does IB automatically know to create an instance of the class just by placing the NSObject in the ViewController? Can it properly assign the viewController property to an instance of itself even though it is creating itself at the same time?

So if one then of course it goes to case 1. If there are 2 opened then it moves the oldest down and puts the newest on top. etc etc. I have set it so that a max of 6 boxes can only be opened at one time. If anyone knows how i could also "slide" them down (kinda like an effect of jQuery) then that would also be, well awesome to know! :o) Any help/suggestions would be great! :o) David

• (C#, WinForms) How to assign an accessibility attribute to an image in ImageList

  Hi all, I'm trying to find a way to make a screen-reader (like JAWS) to read out loud some text that is assigned to images in ImageList. In other controls (like PushButton) there is "AccessibleName" property, that when contains text, it's being read by JAWS. the ImageList consists of four icons that represent priorities, and no text is displayed near them. Is it possible to do it? Can you think of any other creative solution? Thanks, Yaniv.

• emacs elisp buffer not running font lock mode until opened by user

  My problem is I am opening a buffer using (set-buffer (find-tag-noselect (current-word))) and then I try to copy some text out of that buffer. The text that I get back has only the properties (fontified nil). find-tag-noselect automatically opens the buffer found in the TAGS file but it seems it does not run the font lock mode over it. When I manually switch to this buffer after it has been opened and then run the function again when it copies the text it has all the correct text properties attached. So what do I need to do to have this buffer completely initialized so that the correct syntax highlighting will be copied in?
