I'm new to Python. I have a method that begins: def foo(self, list): length = len(list) I've called len() successfully in other cases, but here I get: TypeError: object of type 'type' has no len() How do I convince Python that this object passed in is a list? What am I missing?

Table filtering in jquery - a more elegant solution please

I want to filter certain rows out of a table and am using classes to categorise the rows. The below code enables me to show and hide row data categorised as "QUO" and "CAL" (eventually there will be other categories. TypeConverters on the compact framework

I'm working on a compact framework project and whilst most of the properties are fairly straight forward (I.e. mark them as browsable in the xmta file), I'm struggling to get this to work for more complex types - on the full framework, I'd just implement a custom TypeConverter and go from there, but it seems the CF TypeConverter doesn't have any of the type converting methods to override, which has left me a little stuck? It probably should be blindingly obvious but how would I go about supporting design time property support for more complex type?

As soon as a message (of type jms_text ) is dropped , esb listen to it and pick it up and before it hit the next action it throws following error message. When does an asio timer go out of scope?

What I mean is, let's say you do an async_wait on an asio timer and bind the update to a function that takes a reference to a type T. Let's say you created the T initially on the stack before passing it to async_wait. At the end of that async_wait, it calls async_wait itself, renewing the timer over and over. Does that stack allocated type T stay alive until the first time the timer doesn't renew itself, or after the first invocation of the function will the T go out of scope?

Does the label tag work with radio buttons? If so, how do you use it? I have a form that displays like this: First Name: (text field) Hair Color: (color drop-down) Description: (text area) Salutation: (radio buttons for Mr., Mrs., Miss) I'd like to use the label tag for each label in the left column to define its connection to the appropriate control in the right column. But If I use a radio button, the spec seems to indicate that suddenly the actual "Salutation" label for the form control no longer belongs in the label tag, but rather the options "Mr., Mrs., etc." go in the label tag. I've always been a fan of accessibility and the semantic web, but this design doesn't make sense to me. The label tag explicitly declares labels. The option tag selection options. How do you declare a label on the actual label for a set of radio buttons? I've set, as the jScrollPane docs say, overflow:auto on it but still no luck. I find that when jScrollPane DOES seem to 'run' it just moves the div down about 100 pixels. Try it for yourself. Perhaps someone could help? There's quite a few jQuery plugins there so I don't know if something's colliding/crashing etc... Please note the site is still in development between myself and a friend, which explains the personal messages we submit to each other ('Hi Donnie!' etc. :D ). Also, when you view the page nothing may appear in the second column for a few seconds - it's just fetching the data via Ajax. So give it a little time. Thanks very much! Jack

Problem with PHP 'PHP_SELF'

I am having a bit of trouble. It does not seem to be a big deal, but I have created a page that the user can edit a MySQL database. Once they click submit it should process the php within the if statement and echo 1 record updated. The problem is that it does not wait to echo the statement. It just seems to ignore the way I wrote my if and display the whole page. Is there a way to see what request ASIHTTPRequest is making? My code is: ASIHTTPRequest *request = [ASIHTTPRequest requestWithURL:url]; [request appendPostData:[data dataUsingEncoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]]; [request setRequestMethod:@"GET"]; [request addRequestHeader:@"Content-Type" value:@"application/json"]; And I'm trying to duplicate: curl -X GET "http://www.myurl.com/_api/my/url" -H "Content-Type: application/json" -d {"api_key":"my_special_api_key_123"} The curl works fine, but I can't get the ASIHTTPRequest to work properly. Any ideas?

jQuery ajaxSubmit ignored by IE8

Hi there, I am combing the jQuery validation plug-in with the jQuery Form Plugin to submit the form via AJAX. This works perfectly in Firefox & Chrome, but (as usual) Internet Explorer is being a pain. For reasons that are alluding me, IE is ignoring the ajaxSubmit, as a result it submits the form in the normal fashion. Hi, I have a Database (Sql-server) with table named 'ProcessData' and columns named 'Process_Name' (Data Type: nvarchar(50)), 'Start_At' (DataType: DateTime) and 'End_At' (Data Type: DateTime). I need to konw for each 'Time-Interval' (let's say 1 second) how many processes (Process_Name = PN) was open (after or equal to the 'Start_at' column and before or equal to the 'End_At' column) during this time (It can be a few rows with the same data).
