• ASP.NET MVC based CMS - dynamic generation of form helpers

  I am working on an ASP.NET MVC based CMS that presents a rather extreme case. The system must allow the user to add custom content types based on different fields, and for every field, one can add options and validations. The thing is that everything is stored in a complex DB and extracted at runtime using LINQ. I am pretty fresh with ASPNET MVC so the following dilemma came to mind How should I make the content creation view so that form helpers are not predefined int he view code but are loaded based on the type of the field ? Do I have to create a factory class that checks the value of the type property of the field, and then returns a helper based on that or there's a better way to do it. This one seems pretty rigid to me , because anytime I make a change in the Fieldtypes table, I will have to make sure to create a check for that new type too.

I have created my document, and made a web page with a meta refresh tag, along the lines of this: <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="3;http://example.com/download.epl2" /> I specify that the document has a content-type of application/x-epl2, and I have associated .epl2 files on my computer with a program that silently sends them to the printer. I have put the website into my trusted sites zone. Currently Internet Explorer pops up the "Open, Save, Cancel" dialog box with no option to automatically open the file. Is there a setting in IE6/7/8 that I can use to have IE just open the file without prompting?

  Hi, I have a enterprise application converted from VS2003 to vs2005 . The converted application, in one page i do edit and save i am getting this error. 'Multiple controls with the same ID 'hidWIPID0' were found But the same work fine in the code of vs2003 version without any error. Its a huge application with dynamic master pages and usercontrols etc..So i cant paste the exact code here. Melee maps have the following dependencies: Liberty (Mod) Liberty Multi (Mod) I think the game engine will load the data from Liberty (Mod) first, then from Liberty Multi (Mod). For data that exists in both dependencies, the engine will use the one from Liberty Multi (Mod). Is this correct? Liberty Multi (Mod) is updated with each patch of Starcraft 2. Does the game engine load just the latest version of Liberty Multi (Mod)? or Does the game engine load all the versions and overwrite duplicate data with the latest version?

• How to efficiently manage files on a filesystem in Java?

  I am creating a few JAX-WS endpoints, for which I want to save the received and sent messages for later inspection. To do this, I am planning to save the messages (XML files) into filesystem, in some sensible hierarchy. There will be hundreds, even thousands of files per day. I also need to store metadata for each file. I am considering to put the metadata (just a couple of fields) into database table, but the XML file content itself into files in a filesystem in order not to bloat the database with content data (that is seldomly read). Is there some simple library that helps me in saving, loading, deleting etc. the files? It's not that tricky to implement it myself, but I wonder if there are existing solutions? Just a simple library that already provides easy access to filesystem (preferrably over different operating systems). Or do I even need that, should I just go with raw/custom Java?

  Possible Duplicate: Only ‘sdb’ shows up when installing 12.04 on a new Dell inspiron 14z I am new to Linux and trying to install Ubuntu 12.04 on a new HP Pavilion DV6TQE Ivy Bridge and being presented with the below screen which I believe is incorrect. My disk is set up as a basic disk (not dynamic) and I tried with a single C:\ partition and by creating a second partition in windows with no luck. Any ideas? UPDATE: I think I know what the problem is but I don't know how to fix it yet.. My hard drive has a 32gb mSSD cache which is listed as dev/sdb. for some reason this is causing the installation trouble.

  Possible Duplicate: What is the best method to start understanding BIG project source code? I have a project that I would like to dissect to learn something new from it. This project is about 200 megabytes. For me, it is just impossible to open every cpp and hpp file and read each and every one. I also don't know what is the best approach in this case. Many people on the internet are looking for an UML tool to generate some kind of graph. I think that UML works well when you are starting a project and you want to express the business logic of your classes and methods. In my opinion UML is totally useless when studying a project only from its source code. Also UML is an OO language, in a large sized C++ project I find a lot of stuff that is not an object and can express some other kind of paradigm. Can you name a tool or a class of software that can help with this?

  Is there any way we can make the ASP.NET 4.5 Bundling functionality generate GUID's as part of the querystring when running in debug mode (e.g bundling turned OFF). The problem is when developing locally, the scripts/CSS files are generated like this: <script type="text/javascript" src="/Content/Scripts/myscript.js" /> So if i change that file, i need to do a hard-refresh (sometimes a few times) to get the file to be picked up by the browser - annoying. Is there any way we can make it render out like this: <script type="text/javascript" src="/Content/Scripts/myscript.js?v=x" /> Where x is a GUID (e.g always unique). Ideas? I'm on ASP.NET MVC 4.

  hi, i am having issues with my django templating system, i have a base.html file, which contains the content which will be common on all the web pages of the web site, the base.html file fetches some dynamic content, like the categories and the archives, which are passed to it by a python file, which fetches the categories and the archives data from a mysql database. the issue when i inherit this base.html file in other html files like index.html: {% extends "base.html" %} and when when i call the main index URL for ex: http://mywebsite.com/index/ the index page gets loaded, but the categories and the archives data that should get loaded from the base.html file does not. what am i doing wrong, please help.

  I'm not sure what is causing this, but I am using cluetip and binding it to a live event (either click or mouseenter), but in each situation the cluetip isn't firing until after one click or hover event. I am using the live event for ajax loaded content, but I'm also having this issue with non-Ajax loaded content. I'm not sure why this is happening - can anyone see where I might be going wrong? I have been advised to use the JQuery method load() which seems straight forward. The question I have is do I have to repeat the following code for each of the 20 anchors as the url is different for each one or is there a more efficient way? $('a#project1').click(function() { $('#work').load('ajax/project1.html'); } Also would I have to use the unload() method first to ensure the div I am loading into is empty?
