  I've come up with a simple search view to search for records in my app. The user just enters all parameters in the search box then all this is matched against the database, then results are returned. One of these fields is the phone number....now in the database it's stored in the format XXX-XXX-XXX.   I currently have a DataAccess Layer in Vb.Net. I am not too happy with my implementation of both my ExecuteQuery (as DataSet) and ExecuteNonQuery functions. • Mongomapper query collection problem

  When I define the User has_many meetings, it automatically creates a "user_id" key/value pair to relate to the User collections. Except I can't run any mongo_mapper finds using this value, without it returning nil or []. Meeting.first(:user_id = "1234") Meeting.all(:user_id = "1234") Meeting.find(:user_id = "1234") All return nil. Is there another syntax? • PartCover code details

  I am using PartCover 2.2/2.3(trying with both) on win 7 x64. After generating report and selecting view coverage details, I can see for each method the code coverage. When I click on a method I see on the right list with block, block length, visit count and has source(set to yes). However, it doesn't fill the code like shown here http://www.csharpcity.com/using-partcover-and-nunit-for-code-coverage/. I haven't checked anything, everything is default. Can you tell me how I can see the coverage code? Thank you

• mysql select from a table depending on in which table the data is in

  I have 3 tables holding products for a restaurant. Products that reside in the bar, food and ingredients. I use php and mysql. I have another table that holds information about the orders that have been made so far. There are 2 fields, the most important ones, that hold information about the id of the product and the type (from the bar, from the kitchen or from the ingredients). I was thinking to write the sql query like below to use either the table for bar products, kitchen or ingredients but it doesn't work. Basically the second table on join must be either "bar", "produse" or "stoc". • excel 2007 vba: how to refer to HPageBreaks

  I'm trying to write a macro which can look into the list of horizontal page breaks that a worksheet keeps, and it seems like HPageBreaks should be exactly that. I can add or remove page breaks from it, but I can't seem to isolate the collection itself to look at its contents. Even adding a watch and looking at ActiveSheet.HPageBreaks just brings up a generic looking object with a count field equal to 0 regardless of existing page breaks. I'm really confused about this now. Is there any way to look into the existing page breaks within a sheet? A listing of what rows they occur on/between would be great.

• SQL Server Table locks in long query - Solution: NoLock?

  a report in my application runs a query that needs between 5 - 15 seconds (constrained to count of rows that will be returned). The query has 8 joins to nearly all main-tables of my application (Customers, sales, units etc). A little tool shows me, that in this time, all those 8 tables are locked with a shared table lock. That means, no update operation will be done in this time. A solution from a friend is, to have every join in the query, which is not mandetory to have 100% correct data (dirty read), with a NoLock, so only 1 of this 8 tables will be locked completly. Is that a good solution? For a report in which 99% of data came from one table, unlock the less prio tables?

• having issue while making the client calls persession in c# wcf

  1.) I have a main method Processing, which takes string as an arguments and that string contains some x number of tasks. 2.) I have another method Status, which keeps track of first method by using two variables TotalTests and CurrentTest. which will be modified every time with in a loop in first method(Processing). 3.) When more than one client makes a call parallely to my web service to call the Processing method by passing a string, which has different tasks will take more time to process. so in the mean while clients will be using a second thread to call the Status method in the webservice to get the status of the first method. 4.) when point number 3 is being done all the clients are supposed to get the variables(TotalTests,CurrentTest) parallely with out being mixed up with other client requests. 5.) The code that i have provided below is getting mixed up variables results for all the clients when i make them as static. If i remove static for the variables then clients are just getting all 0's for these 2 variables and i am unable to fix it. Please take a look at the below code. • Creating a menu using xslt for Umbraco

  I've created a menu in umbraco using XSLT. The menu is using the usual ul and li elements and I'm displaying only the first level of the menu. The aim is to create a menu that expands to show the sub menu when I click a parent node (in the top level). I am after the xslt I would need to expose the sub menu when clicked. I think I would need to make use of ancestor-or-self to detect the current menu and parent menu and display them and also the $currentPage variable.   Has anybody some information about accessing Lotus Domino server to fetch entire mail contents by http(s) requests from php linux server? The article by Andrei Kouvchinnikov describes well how to fetch message list in notes mail folders; after obtaining session id during login one can for example select top 100 messages by calling: https://your.server.domain/mail_db/mailbox.nsf/($Inbox)?ReadViewEntries&Start=1&Count=100 And this works perfectly. The arises when I am trying to get message contents (0A1DA5EEB7B65277C12576F50055D811 is an example message unique Id): https://your.server.domain/mail_db/mailbox.nsf/($Inbox)/0A1DA5EEB7B65277C12576F50055D811/?OpenDocument Such request in IE shows frameset with data hard to parse, in less common browsers like Opera it informs about unsupported browser. Ideally if it is possible to fetch notes message contents and all attachments by requesting it in the url, has anybody some information what request would it be? Link to Lotus web calls reference would be even more beneficial.

• Java Memory Overhead

  Hello, I would like to ask about Memory Overhead in java, I have a large ArrayList (61,770 items), and trying to calculate the amount of memory taken by each item (counting the object and its ArrayList entry), by profiling the app i get that after all the data is loaded, the heap takes ~ 25Mb. when the ArrayList has only 2 items the heap takes ~1Mb , so roughly: (24*1024*1024)/61,768 = 407 bytes. however, when i count the fields of the each object, i get 148 bytes(not including the ArrayList, and assuming int=4,float=4,reference=4), I am curious to know where did all of those extra bytes came from... i can guess that since the objects I store in the ArrayList are implementing an interface, they store extra values, maybe the VM stores a 4byte function pointer for each implemented method? the interface they implement have 20 functions so thats 80 more bytes, totaling 228 bytes, still not close to the 400 bytes measured. any help would be appreciated.

But they can appear in more than one category, and I'd like these duplicates not to be taken into account. In the example below, the query should return 3 and not 4. Is there a way in XPath to do so? • How to check a SQL database table to see if a record exists

  I have a SQL database that creates a record for every document uploaded by the user to the server. I want to check this table before a user uploads a document to ensure they don't upload a file with name that already exists. I know how to make the connection and make the SqlCommand to query the table for an existing record. But I don't know how to check the record count from the sqlCommand I made. Does that make sense? Therefore, we did a sync and then this to flush the cache and buffers: echo 3 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches and directly afterwards the I/O wait and service times virtually went through the roof, and everything on the machine felt like slow motion. During the next few hours the latency recovered and everything was as before - small to medium lags in short, unpredictable intervals. Now my question is: does anybody have any idea what might cause this annoying behaviour? Is it the first indication of the disk array or the raid controller dying, or something that can be easily mended by rebooting? (At the moment we're very reluctant to do this, however, because we're afraid that the disks might not come back up again.) Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Chris. Edited to add: we do see one or two processes go to 'D' state in top, one of which seems to be kjournald rather frequently. If I'm not mistaken, however, this does not indicate the processes causing the latency, but rather those affected by it - correct me if I'm wrong. • Optimising SQL distance query

  I'm running an MySQL query that returns results based on location. However I have noticed recently that its really slowing down my PHP app. I used CodeIgniter and the profiler shows the query taking 4.2seconds. The geoname table has 500,000 rows. I have some indexes on the key columns, how else can speed up this query?   I'm trying to find the TextBlock that is inside the control template of a comboBox. using VisualTreeHelpar.GetChildrenCount is working only if the comboBox is declared in XAML.In that case GetChildrenCount returns 1 and a recursive search is possible. However, if I declare the combo as a member of the Window class using code, allocated and setting it to its place, the function GetChildrenCount return 0. When I run snoop in this scenario It shows the combo children hierarchy. I want to be able to search the comboBox just as snoop does.
