    I've been using gmail's SMTP server to send email (notifications, password reminder, etc) in my web application. However, i'm getting to the point where i'm reaching the limit of 500 sent emails per day using gmail's SMTP. Is there any SMTP service's that I can use instead? A friend told me about sendgrid.com, but that's the only one i've heard of.

    I have a web service asp.net project which has a global.asax with empty Application_Start and Application_End implementations. As far as I can understand, in this case it is of no use and could be removed (correct me if I'm wrong). Do I need to do anything other than delete global.asax and global.asax.cs (such as change something in web.config or in the project settings)? Just asking in order to not screw up some dependencies I'm not aware of...

    I want to get the current weather conditions from the NOAA. I know they have a SOAP web service that can be used to get weather forecasts and XML files for current weather conditions for each of their weather stations. I could just use the XML file for the weather station nearest to where I want, but there doesn't seem to be an easy way to search for the proper xml file by zipcode. Is there a simple way to get current weather conditions by zipcode from the NOAA?

    Any ideas for an universal notification service like Adobe Wave? I need to send status updates (more specifically, things like document change notifications and the like). I could stick to RSS but then I will need either long URLs or HTTP authentications on feeds which not all the clients like. Adobe Wave looked promising but they are only desktop, in BETA, without active development, and seem a bit buggy sometimes. Any other ideas?

    Hi all, I did developed a custom SharePoint Web Service . It is working fine when using http. But when we configure SSL(https) , it is not working and throwing the below error. Request for the permission of type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.Security.SharePointPermission, Microsoft.SharePoint.Security, Version=12.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bcee11233hj' failed. The way I have it setup is by having a service that listens to the state of the phone and when the phone is picked up, it starts the timer and when the person hangs up, ends a timer. I would like to send this variable(long duration) over to my appWidgetProvider so I could update the edit text on it.
