    I have a website using the prootype framework and I am looking to use a jquery plugin. Everything works just not in IE8. It works in ie7 which amazes me.     Perhaps it's a syntax error, but I never assume that. I have a -dead- simple AJAX test set up: http://www.mcphersonindustries.com/bucket/api.php is a file with simply: <?php echo "test"; ?> And I have Apache as localhost with this jQuery bit running: $(document).ready(function() { function doAjaxPost() { $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "http://www.mcphersonindustries.com/bucket/api.php", data: "null", success: function(resp){ console.log("Response: '" + resp + "'"); }, error: function(e){ console.log('Error: ' + e); } }); } doAjaxPost(); }); So Firebug spits out Response: '' each time, but nothing's coming through the request.     Hello there, I want to open a PDF-print dialog (not regular browser dialog) without visually opening the document so that I can print a pdf without having the header and footer information from a regular webpage print. I know this is possible, because I have seen it in the past on a postal service website for printing postage labels, but cannot remember where. As far as I know, printing it from an iframe doesnt work, as it only opens regular browser print dialog and gives me ugly page and url information: frames['name'].focus(); frames['name'].print(); Thank you for your time.     Hello all, I'm trying to write a simple plugin for the flash player flowplayer (documentation for writing a plugin for flowplayer can be found here). I'm new to flash and I think I'm having a problem connecting the .fla file to the .as file when compiling into a .swf. As it is, when I include the plugin, the player doesn't show up. I've set the .fla's document class to the .as file and added the .as file to the .fla's publishing classpath. The .as file can be found here and the .fla file can be found here Any ideas?

  • SHAddToRecentDocs without a file?

    I was toying with an IRC client, integrating it with the windows 7 app bar. To get a "Frequent" or "Recent" items list one has to call SHAddToRecentDocs API. I want to add recent IRC channels visited to the Windows 7 Jumplist for the IRC application. Now, my problem is, IRC channels don't exist in the file system. And SHAddToRecentDocs seems to insist on getting some sort of file system object. Ive tried to work around it by creating a IShellItem pointing to my application, and giving it a command line to launch the channel. The shell is rebelling however, and thus far has not visibly added any of my "recent document" attempts to the Jumplist. Is there no way to do this without creating some kind of entirely unwanted filesystem object?

    Hi, I'm writing an NPAPI plugin. In every webpage that the browser goes to, I inject my plugin with an object tag. Something like: <object id="myplugin" type="plugin-mime-type" > In some pages where i dont want it, after injection i remove it by finding the element using the id and doing a document.removeChild. From my logging i found that in firefox and opera, doing this automatically calls the plugin destroy method NPP_Destroy (NPAPI). But in chrome, it doesnt seem to call it. Is there any special way that i should remove a plugin in chrome that i am missing?? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

    I was originally asking for an elegant way to simulate the Array.concat() functionality in IE or older browsers, because it seemed that concat was not supported. Only, of course it is and the reason the object didn't support it is because it wasn't an array. Oops! getElementsByTagName returns a NodeList, not an array. The real question, then, is: what's a good way to get a single list of all the form elements in a document (input, select, textarea, button) to loop through them? An array isn't required... a single NodeList would be perfect, too. Note that I'm using IE6 as this is for a corporate intranet (soon IE8 though).

  • How do I convert PDF to HTML programmatically?

    Are there any classes, COM objects, command line utilities, or anything else that I can make an API for that can convert a PDF to an HTML document? Obviously the conversion might be a little rough since PDFs can contain a lot more than HTML can describe. I found a utility called pdftohtml on Source Forge, but quite honestly it does a horrible job with the conversion. I don't care if the software is free or commercial, but is there anything out there at all that I can incorporate with my own software to do this sort of conversion at least decently? I know Google's developed their own method of doing this, since you can click "View as HTML" on a PDF attached to an email through Gmail, but I was hoping there was something out available to the public. Remember, PDF to HTML. I'm NOT worried about HTML to PDF.

    Hi, I want to find out the zoom level of what is being displayed in a browser window based on the javascripts' window object properties (http://www.javascriptkit.com/jsref/window.shtml) to which I have access. I just can't seem to find the right mathematical formula for the zoom based on the inner width, page offset, etc. I found a solution, but that uses the document.body.getBoundingClientRect call which does not return anything in my case and for which I can't tell if there's a suitable replacement from the window properties.     Hey guys, I am using microformats for a project and with this I have the following Problem. How can i prevent this? Any suggestion....

  • Mixing a4 and a3 in one Latex file

    Hello, I am finishing my thesis and have a large appendix. Some tables only look good, if first done on a3 and then (paper)printed on a4. Anyhow, working all the files seperalty is fine, but I struggle to compile all in one. I use the geometry package and start the document with: \usepackage[a4paper,left=30mm,right=20mm,top=20mm, bottom=20mm]{geometry} For the appendix, I want to include the table and use \newgeometry{a3paper,left=25mm,right=15mm, top=15mm, bottom=15mm} However, the command is completely ignored and I can read "a3paper,left=25mm,right=15mm, top=15mm, bottom=15mm" above the table. What did I miss? Is it even possible? If not, how do I get the numbers right, if I have to include it as a pdf (which works)? Thanks!

    There is only one text field on a HTML form. Users input some text, press Enter, submit the form, and the form is reloaded. The main use is barcode reading. I use the following code to set the focus to the text field: <script language="javascript"> <!-- document.getElementById("#{id}").focus() //--> </script> It works most of the time (if nobody touches the screen/mouse/keyboard). However, when the user click somewhere outside the field within the browser window (the white empty space), the cursor is gone. One a single field HTML form, how can I prevent the cursor from getting lost? Or, how to re-focus the cursor inside the field after the cursor is lost? thx!
