  Hello, I'm using spring MVC with maven to develop a web application, but when i update dependencies maven i get this message: 5/6/10 10:09:50 AM CEST: Build errors for amundsen.web; • Coherence - How to develop a custom push replication publisher

  CoherencePushReplicationDB.zipIn the example bellow I'm describing a way of developing a custom push replication publisher that publishes data to a database via JDBC. This example can be easily changed to publish data to other receivers (JMS,...) by performing changes to step 2 and small changes to step 3, steps that are presented bellow. I've used Eclipse as the development tool. To develop a custom push replication publishers we will need to go through 6 steps: Step 1: Create a custom publisher scheme class Step 2: Create a custom publisher class that should define what the publisher is doing. Step 3: Create a class data is performing the actions (publish to JMS, DB, etc ) for the custom publisher. Step 4: Register the new publisher against a ContentHandler. Step 5: Add the new custom publisher in the cache configuration file. Step 6: Add the custom publisher scheme class to the POF configuration file. All these steps are detailed bellow. The coherence project is attached and conclusions are presented at the end. Step 1: In the Coherence Eclipse project create a class called CustomPublisherScheme that should implement com.oracle.coherence.patterns.pushreplication.publishers.AbstractPublisherScheme. In this class define the elements of the custom-publisher-scheme element. Any ideas on where to troubleshoot? • How to copy file preserving directory path in Linux?

  I have Eclipse projects and ".project" file in them, the directory structure looks like 'myProject/.project'. I want to copy these '.project' files to another directory, but I want the enclosing directory name to be preserved. Let's say I have 'a/myProject/.project', I want to copy 'myProject/.project' to 'b', so it be 'b/myProject/.project', but 'b/myProject' doesn't exist. When I try in a: cp -r ./myProject/.project ../b it copies only '.project' file itself, without 'myProject' directory. Please advise.

Problem is, it's evidently not on my computer, since I can't a) run Eclipse - I get "Could Not Find Java SE Runtime Environment" or b) Find any reference to Java from the command line when typing java -version - I get "Error opening registry key 'Registry/JavaSoft/Java Runtime Environment." Any ideas?

• Cannot SVN checkout when anon-access = none

  When I have anon-access = write Everything works fine. When I change svnserve.conf to: anon-access = none auth-access = write And uncomment password-db and authz-db AND add user in authz with rw AND put username/password in passwd, nothing works. Eclipse keeps giving me a "Cannot map the project with svn provider" error. I have given all the files under conf 777. Any ideas what's wrong?

The ideal scenario is like this: The default parameter values are applied when the program is started. However, when the user wants to change some jre parameter values, he goes to a .ini file, MyProgram.ini for example, changes the values there, and the new values will be applied next time the program is started.   I have a strange issue with the Monaco font on Ubuntu Karmic. I have recently installed the Monaco font just to see what the hype is all about. The problem that I am facing now is that is not antialiased in some GTK apps (namely in Firefox and Eclipse), but it is antialiased in KDE apps (konsole) and in Chromium. I have hinting set to slight. Any help is appreciated.

I am able to browse through the guest operating system( SLED ) but I am unable to log in to any web accounts like stackoverflow,google etc... I've only experienced this behavior with the Awesome Window Manager. Any ideas how to fix it? Update: It has also happened to a popped out Gmail chat window . When I close the main Gmail window, it warns me that the invisible chat window will also be closed.

• How do I remove the Never-Ending Dropbox Folder?

  I don't know if this is an error with eclipse or dropbox, but I seem to be unable to delete a file folder within my dropbox folder. Somehow, there was a creation of over 8300 file folders, all duplicates of the previous folder. I tried deleting from both command line, and explorer but get the same error: I've also deleted the share from the dropbox website, and it deleted correctly from there, but during the sync from the client (my pc) to the site there is an error: Any ideas of what to do?

  I'm a life-long Windows developer switching over to Linux for the first time, and I'm starting off with Ubuntu to ease the learning curve. My new laptop will primarily be a development machine: 6GB RAM, 320 GB HD. I'd like there to be 2 non-root users: (a) Development, which will always be me, and (b) Guest, for anyone else. I assume the root user is added by default, like System Administrator in Windows. (1) I'd like to mount /home to its own partition, but how does this work if I have two user accounts (Development and Guest)? Are there 2 separate /home directories, or do they get shared? Is it possible to allocate more space for Development and only a tiny bit of space for Guest in GRUB2? How?!?! (2) I'm assuming that its okay that all of my development tools (Eclipse & plugins, SVN, JUnit, ant, etc.) and Java will end up getting installed in non-/home directories such as /usr and /opt, but that my Eclipse/SVN workspace will live under my /home directory on a separate partition... any problems, issues, concerns with that? (3) As far as partitioning schemes, nothing too complicated, but not plain Jane either: Boot Partition, 512 MB, in case I want to install other OSes Ubuntu & non-/home file system, 187.5 GB Swap Partition, 12 GB = RAM x 2 /home Partition, 120 GB I don't have any bulky media data (I don't have music or video libraries, this is a lean and mean dev machine) so having 320 GB is like winning the lottery and not knowing what to do with all this space. I figured I'd give a little extra space to the OS/FS partition since I'll be running JEE containers locally and doing a lot of file IO, logging and other memory-instensive operations. Any issues, problems, concerns, suggestions? (4) I was thinking about using ext4; seems to have good filestamping without any space ceiling for me to hit. Any other suggestions for a dev machine? (5) I read somewhere that you need to be careful when you install software as the root user, but I can't remember why. What general caveats do I need to be aware of when doing things (installing packages, making system configurations, etc.) as root vs "Development" user? Thanks!

• Is it possible to change the look and feel of remote X applications running under Xming?

  I was just going through some all-in-one desktop PCs (Dell Studio One, HP Touch Smart, Lenovo IdeaCenter, etc.) and their specs really look good (4 GB RAM, 2.x GHz Core 2 Duo, etc.) Are there any disadvantages of such PCs as a developer machine? I mostly do Java (Eclipse + MySQL + Tomcat / JBoss) or .NET (Visual Studio + MsSQL) development. Edit: One common question I could see is harddrive size and that's around 320 GB 7200 RPM.
