  • Loading images to UIScrollview crashes

    Hello All. I have a Navigationcontroller pushing a UIViewController with a scrollview inside. Within the scrollview I download a certain number of images around 20 (sometimes more) each sized around 150 KB. All these images are added to the scrollview so that their origin is x +imageSize and the following is sorted right to the one before. All in all I think its a lot of data (3-4 MB). On an I pod Touch this sometimes crashes, the IPhone can handle it once, if it has to load the data again (some other images) , it crashes too. I guess its a memory issue but within my code, I download the image, save it to a file on the phone as NSData, read it again from file and add it to a UIImageview which I release. So I have freed the memory I allocated, nevertheless it still crashes. Can anyone help me out? Since Im new to this, I dont know the best way to handle the Images in a scrollview. Besides I create the controller at start from nib, which means I dont have to release it, since I dont use alloc - right?   • Dynamic content doesn't work when loaded with ajax

    I'm trying to load some dynamic content after the user has logged in, using $.ajax, like so: $.ajax({ url: "functions.php", type: "GET", data: login_info, datatype: 'html', async: false, success: function (response) { $('#main').html(response); } }); The problem is, that some events don't work, when loaded this way. I fixed the buttons with the .live() method, but a sortable list for example, doesn't work. How can I somehow refresh the DOM, and let jquery know of these new added elements? Thanks!

    What is the max time do you think is acceptable for a web script (PHP for example) to execute before it starts to become an annoyance for the user (on average)? I always thought that if the user has to wait more than 1 second for the page to load (this of course after images and css have been cached..this rule really only applies for subsequent requests) they would start to get annoyed.

  • Wampserver Error

    Ok http://localhost/ won't load now. Recently I installed skype and am aware of the skype port conflict error. I have removed 'use port 80 and 443 as alternatives for incoming connections' from options and still no luck. I have also uninstalled skype, reinstalled it and restarted my machine several times to no avail. Also, I just tried to run my torrent client and I am getting an error for the first time. Any ideas? many thanks

But I remove invisible subviews by removeFromSuperView method. Subviews are removed and stay invisible, but Im afraid that no memory is released. UIImage is image downloaded from internet.   • Basic Custom String Class for C++

    Hey all, I'm working on building my own string class with very basic functionality. I am having difficulty understand what is going on with the basic class that I have define, and believe there is some sort of error dealing with the scope occurring. When I try to view the objects I created, all the fields are described as (obviously bad pointer). Also, if I make the data fields public or build an accessor method, the program crashes. For some reason the pointer for the object is 0xccccccccc which points to no where. How can a I fix this?
