    I'm getting a Can't use an undefined value as a HASH reference error trying to call HTTP::Message::decodable() using Perl 5.10 / libwww installed on Debian Lenny OS using the aptitude package manager. I'm really stuck so would appreciate some help please.     This is what I'm trying to do: def call_block(in_class = "String", &block) instance = eval("#{in_class}.new") puts "instance class: #{instance.class}" instance.instance_eval{ block.call } end # --- TEST EXAMPLE --- # This outputs "class: String" every time "sdlkfj".instance_eval { puts "class: #{self.class}" } # This will only output "class: Object" every time # I'm trying to get this to output "class: String" though call_block("String") { puts "class: #{self.class}" } On the line where it says "instance.instance_eval{ block.call }", I'm trying to find another way to make the new instance variable run instance eval on the block. The only way I can think of to get it to do that is to pass instance_eval the original block, not as a variable or anything, but as a real block like in the test example. Any tips?

    I have a directory structure with the following on localhost: http://localhost/testing/ A directory structure exists inside of testing as follows: /testing/public /testing/public/index.php /testing/public/img /testing/public/css ..etc for the js and swf directories A .htaccess file is inside the testing folder and the contents are as follows: Options +FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine on RewriteBase /testing/ RewriteRule ^public$ public/ [R,QSA] RewriteRule ^public/$ public/index.php?state=public [L,QSA] RewriteRule ^stackoverflow$ stackoverflow/ [R,QSA] RewriteRule ^stackoverflow/$ public/index.php?state=stackoverflow[L,QSA] I am using PHP and inside of the /testing/public/index.php file I wanted to test that the $_GET['state'] is indeed saving the variable. When I try to test out: http://localhost/testing/public $_GET['state'] is not found at all BUT http://localhost/testing/stackoverflow does indeed echo out that $_GET['state'] equals 'stackoverflow'. What am I missing here??? Why is it that I cannot get the state=public in the first link? Thanks for the help!

  • XQuery - problem with recursive function

    Hi all, Im new on this project and am going to write, what i thought was a simple thing. A recursive function that writes nested xml elements in x levels (denoted by a variable). So far I have come up with this, but keeps getting a compile error. Please note that i have to generate new xml , not query existing xml: xquery version "1.0"; declare function local:PrintTest($amount) { <test> { let $counter := 0 if ($counter <= $amount ) then local:PrintTest($counter) else return $counter := $counter +1 } </test> }; local:PrintPerson(3) My error is: File Untitled1.xquery: XQuery transformation failed XQuery Execution Error! Unexpected token - " ($counter <= $amount ) t" I never understood xquery, and cant quite see why this is not working (is it just me or are there amazingly few resources on the Internet concerning XQuery?)

  • Is it possible to set properties on a Mock Object in Simpletest

    I normally use getter and setter methods on my objects and I am fine with testing them as mock objects in SimpleTest by manipulating them with code like: Mock::generate('MyObj'); $MockMyObj->setReturnValue('getPropName', 'value') However, I have recently started to use magic interceptors (__set() __get()) and access properties like so: $MyObj->propName = 'blah'; But I am having difficulty making a mock object have a particular property accessed by using that technique. So is there some special way of setting properties on MockObjects. I have tried doing: $MockMyObj->propName = 'test Value'; but this does not seem to work. Not sure if it is my test Subject, Mock, magic Interceptors, or SimpleTest that is causing the property to be unaccessable. Any advice welcome.

  • Delphi LoadLibrary Failing to find DLL other directory - any good options?

    Two Delphi programs need to load foo.dll, which contains some code that injects a client-auth certificate into a SOAP request. foo.dll resides in c:\fooapp\foo.dll and is normally loaded by c:\fooapp\foo.exe. That works fine. The other program needs the same functionality, but it resides in c:\program files\unwantedstepchild\sadapp.exe. Both aps load the DLL with this code: FOOLib := LoadLibrary('foo.dll'); ... If FOOLib <> 0 then begin FOOProc := GetProcAddress(FOOLib , 'xInjectCert'); FOOProc(myHttpRequest, Data, CertName); end; It works great for foo.exe, as the dll is right there. sadapp.exe fails to load the library, so FOOLib is 0, and the rest never gets called. The sadapp.exe program therefore silently fails to inject the cert, and when we test against production, it the cert is missing, do the connection fails. Obviously, we should have fully-qualified the path to the DLL. Without going into a lot of details, there were aspects of the testing that masked this problem until recently, and now it's basically too late to fix in code, as that would require a full regression test, and there isn't time for that. Since we've painted ourselves into a corner, I need to know if there are any options that I've overlooked. While we can't change the code (for this release), we CAN tweak the installer. I've found that placing c:\fooapp into the path works. As does adding a second copy of foo.dll directly into c:\program files\unwantedstepchild. c:\fooapp\foo.exe will always be running while sadapp.exe is running, so I was hoping that Windows would find it that way, but apparently not. Is there a way to tell Windows that I really want that same DLL? Maybe a manifest or something? This is the sort of "magic bullet" that I'm looking for. I know I can: Modify the windows path, probably in the installer. That's ugly. Add a second copy of the DLL, directly into the unwantedstepchild folder. Also ugly Delay the project while we code and test a proper fix. Unacceptable. Other? Thanks for any guidance, especially with "Other". I understand that this issue is not necessarily specific to Delphi. Thanks!

    I notice that both of these compile without any compiler warnings or errors, even with Option Strict and Option Explicit both turned on: Dim x As Exception = New Exception("this is a test") Dim y = New Exception("this is another test") My question is, is it more proper to use the first way (see variable x) or the second way (see variable y)? My guess is that VB doesn't need the As clause since the variable is being initialized in place, so the compiler can infer the type. I tend to like the first way as it just "feels" right and is more consistent with other languages like C#, just wondered if there was some good reason for one way over the other. I guess it's really personal choice.

    Hello, I'm new to TDD approach so I'm wondering if anyone experienced wit this could enlighten me a little. I would like to get some leads how to use UML and TDD methodology together. I've been used to: Design with UML -- Generate skeleton classes (and then keep it synchronized) - Implement and finally Test. I must admit that testing part was the worst one, so I started to look for something else - TDD. So I have some general knowledge what is it about but before I proceed further, I am interested knowing how it goes together with software design especially UML. So when I first design/create test, how can UML fit in? Would it be possible to design classes first, from them create skeleton classes, from them generate Unit tests which would be "filled" before actual implementation of UML pregenerated classes, would this approach break whole TDD? Or is there any other way that would keep UML and TDD together? Thanks everyone for answer.

  • Making a vertically scrolling parent div which does not cause overflow of children

    I have something as follows: <div style="float: left; height: 20px; overflow-y: scroll"> <div>hello this is a test</div> <div>hello this is another test</div> <div>t1</div> <div>t2</div> <div>t3</div> </div> The parent div grows to the appropriate width to fit the largest child (which is what I want). However, the vertical scrollbar causes the inner width to be smaller, which causes the largest child to wrap. Is there a way to get the parent to grow to the width of the largest child + the width of the scroll bar? I've tried every margin trick I know, but nothing.

In short, if the route definition is the first in the route table, then the parameter takes its default value. But the others below don't.

    Hi guys, I decided to learn HTML so I installed apache on windows vista. Everything seems to work fine; when I go to http://localhost:8080 the sample webpage installed by apache shows. Apache is configured at port 8080. So far so good. Since my DocumentRoot is c:\pub, I made another folder inside, e.g., c:\pub\test. What I'm trying to figure out is why the page at http://localhost/test:8080 cannot load? It has index.html and apache is working fine. Any ideas?

    Hello, I have some xml: <Test> <thing location="home" status="good"/> <thing location=work" status="bad"/> <thing location="mountains" status="good"/> </Test> The leaves on the TreeView are the values of the status attribute; the nodes will be the value of the location attribute. +--bad ¦.....+--work +--good .......+--home .......+--mountains Currently, I populate the TreeView (or Tab control) manually, iterating through the xml, adding the nodes to the appropriate leaf. Can this be done via databinding? I'm guessing a Converter will be involved... Thanks for any advice.

  • Unit testing "hybrid" WPF/Silverlight controls

    I'm starting a new WPF/Silverlight custom control project and wanted to do unit testing on this one. However I'm a little confused about how to approach this. This control would be based on the same codebase for both WPF and Silverlight with minor forking using #ifs and partial classes to tame the differences. I guess I could write unit tests for WPF part with NUnit, MSTest, xUnit, etc. and for the Silverlight part with Silverlight Unit Test Framework but this doesn't sound very elegant to me. I'd have to either ignore testing identical code on one of the platforms and test only differing parts (which is not very trustworthy) or rewrite tests for 2 frameworks (which is annoying). Is this the right way to go? I'm wondering if there's some guidance, articles, tutorials out there on how to approach this task. Any pointers?

  • Drupal Imagecache not working

    I created an Imagecache setting that just resizes to 125px wide. First issue is that the preview image is 404. Then I want to print out an image via <?php print theme('imagecache', 'imported_image', $node->picture, 'test', 'test', $attributes); ?> 'imported_image' being the preset and $node-picture is a correct path. The html prints out ok but the path it's trying load the image from does not exist. In sites/default/files/imagecache there is no folder with the name of the preset. Flushing the preset does nothing. The imagecache folder is writeable by everyone. This is on MAMP. Anyone know what the issue could be?

    With advice from users here I was able to deploy an application that connects with sql server 2008 database on to a server. I have the connection string with data source pointing to my machine since the database is stored on my machine temporarily. I do not have access to another machine and wanted to test the application so I remotely connected to the server to test the application and it does not connect to the server. I have TCP/IP enables, port to defaul 1433, and remote connections checked. Is there something I am missing? Please help

  • Can I set a property on an object that is only declared on the instance type, when I don't know the

    Let me explain. I have a List into which I am adding various ASP.NET controls. I then wish to loop through the list and set a CssClass, however not every Control supports the property CssClass. What I would like to do is test if the underlying instance type supports the CssClass property and set it, but I'm not sure how to do the conversion prior to setting the property since I don't know the type of each Control object. I know that I can use typeof or x.GetType(), but I'm not sure how to use these to convert the controls back to the instance type in order to test for and then set the property. Actually I seem to have solved this, so I thought that I would post the code here for others. foreach (Control c in controlList) { PropertyInfo pi = c.GetType().GetProperty("CssClass"); if (pi != null) pi.SetValue(c, "desired_css_class", null); } I hope that this helps someone else as I has taken me hours to research these 2 lines of code.     Hi, I'm trying to send an email merging one document (docx) with a contacts database (via OleDB). Using MSWord2007, it seems easy (it works for easy things: name, address, ...) but I can't find how fill an query-get url string with a merge field inside an hyperlink. An hyperlink like: Click here where here is an hyperlink to http://domain.com/[email protected] where [email protected] is the address of the contact, a merge field. I've tried the special/merge fields: {HYPERLINK "http://domain.com/test.php?contact={MERGEFIELD contactEmail}" \o "Here"} but it doesn't work, sometimes it merge only the first record and then send all the mails with the same address, I got this alternating the view with ALT+F9. This support doc doesn't work for me because I don't have the complete URL in my database for each contact, and I can't change the design of the table or add a view (it's from the CRM), I don't like to do it exporting the table and adding the field.
