• How do I unescape HTML entities in a string in Python 3.1?

  I have looked all around and only found solutions for python 2.6 and earlier, NOTHING on how to do this in python 3.X. (I only have access to Win7 box.) I HAVE to be able to do this in 3.1 and preferably without external libraries. Currently, I have httplib2 installed and access to command-prompt curl (that's how I'm getting the source code for pages). Unfortunately, curl does not decode html entities, as far as I know, I couldn't find a command to decode it in the documentation. YES, I've tried to get Beautiful Soup to work, MANY TIMES without success in 3.X. If you could provide EXPLICIT instructions on how to get it to work in python 3 in MS Windows environment, I would be very grateful. So, to be clear, I need to turn strings like this: Suzy &amp; John into a string like this: "Suzy & John".

• SQL Split function that handles string with delimeter appearing between text qualifiers?

  There are several SQL split functions, from loop driven, to using xml commands, and even using a numbers table. I haven't found one that supports text qualifiers. Using the example string below, I would like to split on ",", but not when it appears between double or single quotes. Example data: [email protected], "Sally \"Heat\" Jones" <[email protected]>, "Mark Jones" <[email protected]>, "Stone, Ron" <[email protected]> Should return a table: [email protected] "Sally \"Heat\" Jones" <[email protected]> "Mark Jones" <[email protected]> "Stone, Ron" <[email protected]> I know this is a complex query/function, but any suggestions or any guidance would be mucho appreciated.

• Postback problem when using URL Rewrite and 404.aspx

  I'm using URL rewrite on my site to get URLs like: http://mysite.com/users/john instead of http://mysite.com/index.aspx?user=john To achive this extensionless rewrite with IIS6 and no access to the hosting-server I use the "404-approach". When a request that the server can't find, the mapped 404-page is executed, since this is a aspx-page the rewrite can be performed (I can setup the 404-mapping using the controlpanel on the hosting-service).   Are UITextFields not meant to be part of the LogicTests and instead part of the ApplicationTest target? I have a factory class that is responsible for creating and returning an (iPhone) UITextField and I'm trying to unit test it. It is part of my Logic Test target and when I try to build and run the tests, I get a build error about: /Developer/Tools/RunPlatformUnitTests.include:451:0 Test rig '/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneSimulator3.1.2.sdk/ 'Developer/usr/bin/otest' exited abnormally with code 133 (it may have crashed).   I have been playing with javascript arrays and I have run into, what I feel, are some inconsistencies, I hope someone can explain them for me. Before continuing, let me note how string values are to be converted to number values in javascript. Nonempty string - Numeric value of string or NaN Empty string - 0 So since a javascript array is an object the following is legal: myArray["someThing"] = "someThing"; myArray[""] = "Empty String"; myArray["4"] = "four"; for( var i in myArray){ document.write( "myArray[" + i + "] = " + myArray[i] + "<br />"); } document.write(myArray.join(", ") + "<br /><br />"); Length: 5 myArray[0] = 1 myArray[1] = 2 myArray[2] = 3 myArray[3] = 4 myArray[4] = four myArray[someThing] = someThing myArray[] = Empty String 1, 2, 3, 4, four The output is unexpected. Also the non empty string "something" is not converted to its numeric value, NaN, it is treated as a string. So which is it? is the statement inside myArray[] in numeric or string context? Also, why are the two, non numeric, properities of myArray not included in myArray.length and myArray.join(", ")?

  Forgive my ignorance, I am a JS programmer given the task to do DB replication using bucardo. I understand the concept of how bucardo works, but setting it up is a bit confusing. The set-up is: Lubuntu Linux Two databases test_master and test_slave, using PostgreSQL Each DB has a table named test, containing 2 columns: id (PK) and test (int) I use pgAdmin3 I have already added them to bucardo's list of databases and added all tables. Table: public.test DB: test_slave PK: id (int4) Table: public.test DB: test_master PK: id (int4) As you see, due to the fact that the DBs are identical, even the schema names are identical. So when I do: bucardo_ctl add herd sample_herd public.test Ok, so it got added to the herd. But this command gets confused which database public.test comes from. So when I add a sync: $ bucardo_ctl add sync sample_sync source=sample_herd targetdb=test_slave type=fullcopy Failed to add sync: DBD::Pg::st execute failed: ERROR: Source and target databases cannot be the same: test_slave at line 118. at line 30. CONTEXT: PL/Perl function "validate_sync" at /usr/bin/bucardo_ctl line 3362. What does it mean that source and target cannot be the same? If it got confused as to which public.test to use as source, how do I differentiate?

Have a C++ class constructor: make_summarizer(const char* rdir, const char* lic, const char* key); Need to retain a reference to the object that is created so I can use it in a follow-on function.   I'm attempting to setup svnserve with SASL support on my Slackware 13.1 server and after some trial and error I'm able to get it to work with the configuration listed below: svnserve.conf [general] anon-access = read auth-access = write realm = myrepo [sasl] use-sasl = true min-encryption = 128 max-encryption = 256 /etc/sasl2/svn.conf pwcheck_method: auxprop auxprop_plugin: sasldb sasldb_path: /etc/sasl2/my_sasldb mech_list: DIGEST-MD5 sasldb users $ sasldblistusers2 -f /etc/sasl2/my_sasldb test@myrepo: cmusaslsecretOTP test@myrepo: userPassword You'll notice that the output of sasldblistusers2 shows my test user as having both an encrypted cmusaslsecretOTP password as well as a plain text userPassword passwd. i.e., if I were to run strings /etc/sasl2/my_sasldb I would see the test users' password in plaintext. These two password entries were created with the following subversion book recommended command: saslpasswd2 -c -f /etc/sasl2/my_sasldb -u myrepo test After reading man saslpasswd2 I see the following option: -n Don't set the plaintext userPassword property for the user. Only mechanism-specific secrets will be set (e.g. OTP, SRP) This is exactly what I want to do, suppress the plain text password and only use the mechanism-specific secret (OTP in my case). So I clear out /etc/sasl2/my_sasldb and rerun saslpasswd2 as: saslpasswd2 -n -c -f /etc/sasl2/my_sasldb -u myrepo test I then follow it up with a sasldblistusers2 and I see: $ sasldblistusers2 -f /etc/sasl2/my_sasldb test@myrepo: cmusaslsecretOTP Perfect! I think, now I have only encrypted passwords.... only neither the Linux svn client nor the Windows TortoiseSVN client can connect to my repo anymore. They both present me with the user/pass challenge but that's as far as I get. TLDR So, what is the point of SVN supporting SASL if my sasldb must store its passwords in plaintext to work?

I get... Unable to disambiguate.. So it looks like it has found the Type to resolve (being Dictionary<string, int>) but failed to new it up... How come unity can't resolve this type? If I type IDictionary<string, int> d = new Dictionary<string, int>() that works... any ideas? thanks!

I went to create a new project using this pattern only now the immediate window says retPlatKeys is out of scope and hovering over retPlatKeys after loading I get something like retPlatKeys|0x0000000002578900. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The problem is, in my unit tests everything seems to load correctly, but users(:reginald).profile is always nil. What am I missing?

PHP's GET method seems to translate a plus sign into a blank space. I have searched this bug and found out that it has already been filed here. I have tried different methods listed on that page and others with no success. The closest I got is by using this: $fixedstring = str_replace(" ", "+", $string); and then using $fixedstring in the encryption methods, the problem is, upon decryption, all blank spaces are converted to plus signs. Any ideas?

• Web service SSL handshake fails in production environment unless SSL debugging enabled

  Scenario: calling a client web service over SSL (https) with mutual SSL authentication. Different service endpoint URLs and certs (both keystore and truststore) for test vs. production environments. Both test and production environments run tomcat / JBoss clustered. Production environment has load balancing / BigIP, runs Blade and non-Blade machines. Truststore is set (using -Djavax.net.ssl.trustStore=value) at startup. Keystore is set using System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStore", "value") in Java code. Web service call made using Axis2. All works fine in test environment, but when we moved to production environment (6 servers), it appears certs are not being forwarded for the handshake. Here's what we've done: in test environment, handshake using test versions of certs has been working all along, with no ssl debugging enabled confirmed in test environment that handshake with client production endpoint succeeds (production certs, both ours and theirs, are fine) -- this was done using -Djavax.net.debug=handshake,ssl confirmed that the error condition occurs on all 6 production servers took one server out of the cluster, turned on ssl debugging for just that one (with a restart), hit it directly, handshake works! switched to a different server without the debugging turned on, handshake error condition occurs turned debugging on on that second server (with a restart), hit it directly, handshake works! From the evidence, it seems like somehow the debugging being enabled causes the certificates to be properly retrieved/conveyed, although that makes no sense! I wonder whether somehow the enabled debugging makes the system pay attention to the System.setProperty call, and ignore it otherwise. However, in local and test environments, handshake worked without debugging enabled. Do I maybe need to be setting keystore on server startup like I'm setting truststore? Have been avoiding that because the keystore will differ for each of our test environments (16 of them).

Is it possible to create a generic class, which can instantiate as a class which holds string, or a IList or an IList?
